The Family That Preys meets Flowers in the Attic
I must keep it locked away—the memory of my darkest secret….
When the rising tides of my life peak, I’m left struggling with the currents of the storm. The first dilemma is my dad’s gambling debt. Mama bounces back quickly from the ramifications it causes. She proves this by getting a new man. Her Rico Suave is just the tip of the iceberg—she moves us across state to live with him and his two sons.
My outgoing, older sister fits right in—she’s the total opposite of me. I am Madison Guillory, the shy, quiet type. Taught to make the best of even the worst situations, I contemplate giving my new family a chance.
Living with my future stepbrothers is interesting, to say the least. They’re like night and day. I have more in common with the laid-back brother, and we become instant friends. I’m adjusting to Taylor High, and the arrogant brother is even starting to grow on me. Maybe everything will work out after all.
My life finally seems to be falling into place until a dreadful night shatters my dreams. My world is flipped upside down because of the consequences I must now bear.
The memories of that night lurk in the shadows to torment me. If I think of what happened, I’ll succumb to my fear. His face has scorned me. No one will believe me if I confess, not even my own sister. I hold the key to my darkest secret, desperate to keep it locked away.

This story filled me with anxiety, anger, and heartbreak as Madison's secrets just kept getting worse when the people she loved wouldn't stand by her.
Madison lost her father in a tragic way and when her bitch of a mother, Charlotte, latched on to a new sugar daddy within a month of Madison's beloved father's death it was appalling. As she was dealing with her father's murder, her mother uproots Madison and her sister Tanya to live in another state with Regan, her mother's new lover. When Madison meets Regan's twin sons, Jackson and Justin her life will never be the same again. Her friendship with Justin grows into much, much more, until one disturbing and painful night changes everything.
Madison is a smart, kind, honest young woman who loves to read and gets straight As in school. She has high morals and a good heart which isn't enough to get her out of the awful situation she finds herself in. Justin is a thoughtful and mature young man who would do anything for Madison, but her secret has torn them apart. He is a hero in my book for how he stands up for her till the end. And the ending is a frickin' cliffhanger. Uh uh, nope. After all that turmoil and heartache let's hope something good happens in the sequel.
And supporting characters...Regan is a good, kind man and an idiot for falling for one of the vilest poor excuses of a mother I've ever seen. Charlotte is a self-absorbed snake who made my skin crawl. Add to that, her nasty daughter and Madison's sister Tanya who is a chip off the ole block. I don't want to leave a spoiler about who the foulest character is, but let me just say this person should be drawn and quartered. Yep. That bad.
If you like tragic love stories with a wide range of shallow and compelling characters including a strong female antagonist who finally stands up for herself after a serious plot twist full of triggers, give this book a try.
Thank you to Ms. Truly for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.
SCORN OF SECRETS will tear your heart out and stomp on it - this I can promise you! It hooked me in from the start as Madison tries to cope with the death of her father, plus have a relationship with her oh-so-loving mother and older sister. Her whole world is upended when they move to a new state, but it's not all that bad... is it?
Told from Madison's perspective, you are with her as she meets the rich man her mother has latched onto, the new home, the new school, the new future step-siblings. She is the quiet one of the two, more introspective than the loud Tanya, and more likely to be on Goodreads than Instagram!
This book was so emotional, I swear I wanted to kill Tanya and Charlotte. Unfortunately, family can be too similar to the way the characters are described, so my heart broke for Madison and how they treated her. The confusion and trauma she goes through were made completely understandable and showed you how little choice she thought she had. Justin is a caring and mature young man who is swept away by Madison. He wants to be there for her in every way. He struggles to understand but, once the secret is out, he fully understands.
This is the first book and does have an open ending. I can't wait to read Book 2, Thorn of Secrets, and I really REALLY hope for a happy ending for Madison and Justin. These two, gah!!! Please let them be happy, they deserve it!
In case you hadn't figured it out, I highly recommend this book! Absolutely brilliant.

I got this book under the 'Read it & Reap' Program in exchange for an honest review
Warning: This is not an easy read, so be ready to go through intense emotions, pain, and heartbreak.
Right from the first pages, the author sets a tone, that this book will not be all rainbows and unicorns.
The story: Madison learns that her father is not this perfect man, who works hard till late hours and takes care of their family. It turns out he has a serious gambling problem and this puts the whole family through a tough experience. When the tragedy happens and Madison's mother is left alone with two teenagers, she makes a decision to make a move to another state, where her new love flame (crazy rich, by the way) lives with his two teenage sons. Madison and her sister Tanya are not thrilled, of course, but when Tanya sees the level of wealth, she fits in perfectly. And even Madison warms to the idea of her mom getting married again and living with Regan and his sons after some time and getting to know the new family members. One would think what can go wrong after that? They are finally about to live their dream life. Well, turns out life is never that simple.
What I didn't like: There is this one thing -
What I liked: 1. the characters. They are described in such a way, that all of them invoke emotions however different they may be. Although I found it odd that the characters were either only positive or only negative - no bad guys with something good in them. Still liked how the author portrayed them all.
2. the dynamics. The story moved quickly and intensely, there were no slacks in the plot, which made the book interesting and gripping.
3. the story. Madison's story is heartbreaking but inspiring. I really admire her for what she's gone through with dignity and courage and what she achieved in the end. Most importantly I admire the author for writing the book on such serious topics. It is important to remind young people that they should seek help, even when it seems that everything and everyone is against you.
Overall, impressive read for me. I would recommend it to everyone, honestly. Some might get inspired by Madison, others by her grandma Gigi, who did a simple thing - believed her granddaughter. Sometimes the only thing you need is someone to listen to you and believe you.
This book scorn of secrets is a riveting account of a life of a young girl named Madison .The story is fascinating and will give a feeling of a blockbuster movie .It has all the basic ingredients to keep the readers engrossed till the end .It's a story of a girl and her family ,her emotions her journey her pain and hence it circles around her life .
The plot opens with Madison her sister Tanya who stay along with there parents Mr and Mrs Guillory Madison seems to be quite attached with her father .The story starts up showing a good happy family .As the parents never opened up before the kids .But as the plot proceeds it opens up with a bundle of secrets rapped one after the other ..
It takes a big turn when Madison gets to find out that her father is a drunkard and a gambler too. The saddest part is when Her father is shot dead by few people .This novel has lots of twist and turns in it .The story will definitely touch the readers heart .I really felt sad in few notes .
Again we see a big hike in the story ,which pushes it forward .That happens when her mother shift with a man in Texas named Ragen . The author has elaborately described the appearances of all the characters. And also the place where Ragen and his two twin sons Justin and Jackson have been staying .
From here onwards the story takes a deeper note when things start going wrong . Jackson and Justin both fall for Madison . It becomes more terrible when things go wrong between them .That finally ends up in ruining the relationships ..And Madison being the victim deals with her struggle and sorrows all alone . The novel has portrayed her as a mixture of both strong and emotional girl .As her father's death shakes her completely and her recent incident takes her for seeking justice ..
What had happened with Madison ? Will she find justice ? The story has a lots of secrets that can be revealed only by reading this novel . I specially liked the way how the author has described the eyes of all the characters while narration .That gave a full effect of the expressions .
Do read this Novel to see where things went wrong.
This is a dark tale of a teenage girl being hosted with secrets that would shatter her own family along and the love of her life. . Madison Guillory is shy and obedient child of Charlotte, unlike her elder sister Tanya. After their father's death, they moved to a new city with the mother's new boyfriend. The grand house is welcomed by his identical twin sons of the girls' age. Jackson is outgoing and quite an extrovert, while Justin is well mannered and sensitive. The step brothers seemed to go well with the new sisters untill one night when everything changed. Madison is in trauma and remained threatened most of the times. What happened to her and the consequences of the secrets that she would now bury deep inside her heart?? . I loved the zest with which the story began. The initial sections were tensed dealing with the gambling and death of the father of Madison and Tanya. The two sisters are unlikely to be the poles apart characters. Charlotte, the mother has been shown as indifferent towards her youngest child Madison. Tanya is no way behind in destroying the rapport of her sister. As I said, it is a dark tale that mentions about sexual abuse, depression, nightmares and many other similar conditions. I liked and appreciated Madison's journey and the approach she had choosen. The ending was heartbreaking yet beautifully penned expressing the possible human emotions. It is highly important to take utmost care in keeping the mind in sound health. Because the consequences can be irreversible. A simple act of caring and understanding can do the magic. She had to go through this lot because the closed ones never supported her, also she can go through it because she had few of her well wishers to stand by her. I loved the storyline and witnessing the teenage talks was fun. Narration was smooth throughout the chapters. Overall this book provided me with a roller coaster of emotions associated with us humans along with some serious life lessons.

The story rotates around Madison , a 16 year old young person who is compelled to move in alongside her mom and sister to her mom's sweethearts house.
She gets affections for Justin, one of two stage siblings who live respectively.
Changes everything in her life.
Connections are tried and destiny is changed.
Getting going with the front of the book, it is exceptionally appealing and quickly grabs peruser's eye alongside the title.
Language utilized is straightforward and the progression of the story is high speed keeping up with the anticipation while keeping the book fascinating.
The book has a great deal of bend and turns keeping you unsettled all through.
The story manages rape, discouragement, PTSD and spotlights on self improvement and mental fortitude to stick out.
I felt that the book may be another Rom-com, yet I wasn't right, the book has significantly more to bring to the table.
The person advancement of Madison directly from the beginning till the end was done quite well.
The story isn't only a sentiment about advance kin however it is about family dramatization, trust shows, new connections, fresh start and on an excursion to self mending.
The consummation of the story as per be was acceptable, leaving me with a great deal of inquiries and suspicions for the following book in the series.
Anticipating read the following book soon!

Curiosity reached up to the top floor when I started getting closer to the interval section of the reading process! Author has done a great job in keeping the readers immersed with the unpredictable thrilling story line. It manages to make us question so many things. What might have happend to the protagonist in the upcoming page or how would the kid grow up in the upcoming ages? Will Madison meet her desired expectations in terms of living this life which as of now, appears to be a messed up one? Who ends up being the face behind the cruel happenings? And many more such questions that passed through my mind while shifting my eyes from one page to another. The detailed writing made this book even more better and I liked the cover which showcases a shattered version of Madison. Even though I am more into romance based novels, I found myself enjoying and cherishing this version and genre of book for the first time. This is a can't-put-down type of book. After every page I find myself trying to convince myself to check out 'one last page' before falling asleep. I finished reading this book in 1 and a half day and after finishing this book I had that sad feeling that this book is over. If you love adventures played by life and how one fights it, this book is it! Although the book is based on a heart-wrenching mode of tale, author somehow delivers peace to the reader's mind indirectly through a few beautiful parts in the book.

Scorn of Secrets by B. Truly is the first installment in my darkest secret series. It hovers around the life of Madison Guillory, a sixteen year old shy, introvert yet smart and lovely girl. After the untimely demise of her father, she had to move to her mother's new boyfriend's house very soon. While trying to get adjusted with the new place and life, things go upside down one dreadful night that changes Madison's whole life. Will she be able to reclaim the lost pieces and set it right? Can she cope up with the traumatic incident?
This was such a heartwrenching read. I couldn't gather enough words to talk about it. I was broken into pieces. I kept asking why bad things happen to good people!! Horrific yet tender, this wonderful read will blow away your heart with its wonderful narration. It will rip your heart into pieces with its heart-stopping plot and melt your heart with the masterful poetic prose.
What a wonderful characterisation!I adored the portrayal of Justin. He's so supportive and caring person. Also the character of grandma Gigi is another one I admired. Even the portrayal of the antagonists were done with detailing and observation.
Overall this book was a fantastic read that leads you through a cathartic experience. This book will make you cry out loud, rip your heart but also heals it. You will definitely be hooked till the end. I can't wait to see how things go with Justin and Madison and justice will be prevailed!! Can't wait to read the next part.
This is a fictional plot layered neatly with turns and twists. The protagonist of the plot is a girl named Madison. There are several characters involved in the plot yet the author has penned down each in detail. Each character has been given sufficient scope to contribute to the plot. The book captures the development of the protagonist along with the changes around her. The story begins when her father dies leaving behind debt and her mother moves on with another man. Madison and her sister had to move into the house of this new man in their mother's life. This new man in their mother's life have two sons and the girls finally adjust in the new place and situation. Gradually the bond between these step sisters and brothers grew but life had more suprises planned. An unexpected incident turns Madison's life upside down. She keeps on hiding to avoid the consequences of that one incident. Madison is an introvert girl thus shy and quiet in nature and this one incident frightened her the most. What was it? And why was she trying to hide it? Well the plot holds in all the answers. The narration of the book is kept simple and easy making it understandable by all but it is a 16+ read because of it sexual content in the plot. The language used is lucid.
“Scorn of Secrets” is the first book in the My Darkest Secret series written by B Truly. The plotline is so gripping and it mainly revolves around the protagonist, Madison. Madison is a 16-year-old teenager who has been facing a rough phase of life after her father's death. Her father was living a heavily spilt life which includes gambling and alcoholism and eventually, that was a reason for his death.
The story commences with a regular interaction within a family and it slowly got transcended with lots of twists in the plot while the dark secrets are exposed. I loved the way the characterization has been done in this plotline. The author has perfectly composed with each character having a good impact on the storyline.
The language is simple and the narration straightforward and bold. The story contains a little bit of sexual content and hence I would advise the reader to read the disclaimer before picking it up. The cover looks innovative and it makes a good justice to the story. Overall, it is a very interesting story and I am very eagerly waiting to look forward to the next book in the series. The author has very well captured the pains and troubles of Madison's life with such honesty and emotion. I would rate this book with 4 out of 5 stars.
I've read a lot of books with the theme-stepsibling romance but never have I ever read anything like this one here. It has mystery but with a touch of 'I think I know where you're going,oh my god, this can't be happening!'
The cover gave me a vibe of broken heart but,is that it? Noooooope.
The blurb was quite intriguing but deceiving in a good way...how? It made me feel like this is just another in the stepsibling category but,boy was I wrong!?!
Not only did the book not dive straight into romance,it had a lot of background info going for it.. like for instance, why Madison had to move states or why she wasn't cared for enough... Most books usually offer explanation towards the end to justify what happened but here,it was natural...events explained as they took place or things explained that led to the events that occurred.
I must say I felt it was more of a crime thriller/mystery than romance and I had sad/angry tears rolling down my cheeks in no time.
I'm also happy that the author decided to take such an important topic and dealt with it really well. She didn't say it's easy but that we have to stand up for ourselves.
I noticed a few glitches which I'm sure will be taken care of.
I just looked up Thorn of Secrets on Amazon and realised it might not be available as I'd hoped it would be...I just can't wait, what with the suspense you've left me in!
The ebook was emailed to me by the author in exchange for an honest review.
This book is way darker than I expected, I kinda knew what was going to happen but that doesn’t mean reading about it was any easier. There are some trigger warnings, please ask me or the author if you're interested in details.
Madison’s life started going downhill when her father started keeping secrets that endangered the family. Her mom gets a new man who already has two sons, Madison and her sister Tanya move in with them and start over. Her life was slowly getting better and she was feeling more comfortable about herself until the night that shattered everything. Madison can’t tell anyone what happened, no one would believe her anyway. The secret haunts her and she’s the only one with the key to open the door to the truth or keep hiding in the dark.
It’s an important book with many interesting discussions. It saddens me to think that many people struggle through these issues in real life. I don't want to give any spoilers but if you’re into family drama with a lot of twisted lies and heartless people, then this book is for you.
The death of her father broke Madison who was an introverted teenager. Her family gets broken after her father's death which consisted of her mother and sister, Tanya. Madison's mother didn't took much time to move on and within a month of her father's death, they moved in to live with her mother's new boyfriend, Regan. Regan has twin sons and Madison quickly grew attached to one of her stepbrother. Things seemed to be falling in place until a fateful night which changed everything. The story is tragic and heartwrenching. The book gives an insight into the dillema and the effects of trauma which leads to depression in people. The book will make your heart bleed and eyes teared up with the author's wonderful narration of the pain and trauma of Madison's life. The characters are realistic and well developed and the plot is engaging. The book however ends in a cliffhanger so I hope there will be a sequel. An emotionally charged book following the journey of ups and downs of Madison's life.
B Truly's Scorn of secrets is interesting because we get to travel along the character's journey in the most realistic way possible. The edge of emotions where characters feel and think about everything they can do to keep their phase of life safe. It teaches us how unpredictable life can be, how things might suddenly get out of hand and how we have to adapt to changes. The blend of emotions throughout the book takes us to another level of ecstasy at one point. Its light in the beginning and end and gets heavy somewhere in between. There are so many things worth applaud in this book which the author has delicately weaved with so much of love. The blend of so many things makes this book worth reading.
I know a person like Madison in real life, and that is why, this story was whole lot more believable and relatable for me. Every scenario, plot, substance and elements felt more real than it should be. The way Madison and portray of Madison made by the author carried the protagonist and the journey throughout the read, her voice and emotions, her grace of talking and understanding people, dealing with them, the ache of losing she felt, the sacrifice, fear and empathy, everything was so good and so much better.
Apart from my obsession over Madison, I liked the book, the way author has written -simple yet lucid- and the mysteries.
A good book, worth reading where every twist is an unexpected one truly. A perfect read in my view.
Scorn of Secrets is the first book in the series of My Darkest Secret by B. Truly.
The story revolves around a 16-year-old girl named Madison Guillory. She's a shy, introverted but very strong teen protagonist.
Her life takes a dramatic turn after the ultimate demise of her father's death. She has to move with her mother along with her sister to the house of her mother's new lover's house.
Madison and her elder sister, Tanya have got nothing but to agree with their mother. In the new house the people over their welcome wholeheartedly. Everyone seems to adjust to the new environment very quickly but it is tough for Madison.
The writing was really cool, no character seemed out of place, every character had a part to play in the main plotline.
I really loved Justin's character. How he trusted Madison when her own sister and her own mother were doubting her.
Madison is a very strong and courageous girl. If someone was there in her place they may give up much earlier.
B. Truly is a new to me author so I wasn't sure what I was in for, I just knew that the description intrigued me quite a bit. What I got was a powerful story that brought me to my knees for Madison, since what she's going through is written so realistic that it was hard to breathe. It legit felt like every emotion Madison went through, I was right there with her step by step, and my heart still aches because she represents so many girls. I was thrown right into her world from the jump as the story grabbed me by the throat & didn't let go for anything. It's almost impossible to make this review so vague because you just don't know until you know, so I'll wrap it up by telling you that you need to experience this book as I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
I had soaring expectations from this book and it lived up to all of them. No book has ever broken my heart and shattered my world, and I doubt one ever will, the way 'Scorn of Secrets' by B. Truly did. I was on a roller coaster ride with this one, from feeling butterlies in my stomach because of the cute romance one second to crying, screaming, heaving for breath, with my heart pounding too loud, and dying to burn the whole world down while also wanting nothing more than to hide myself away, the other second, and that's how I can guarantee that the writing is absolutely commendable. After reading through the trigger warnings, I thought I would know what to expect but the story kept baffling me with twists and turn till the very end. The rawness with which Truly has given an insight into the minds of all sexual assault victims, not witholding anything, her narration devoid of any filters, I can't even begin to fathom the sufferings of the women who are handed out this cruel fate, those who deal with the consequences of the actions of a man who gets to walk away scot-free after commiting a crime whose punishment should be worse than death, while the victim's entire life is turned upside-down in the stroke of a moment. My heart goes to these women because I can't begin to imagine their agony if I am experiencing this kind of second-hand pain, and if I get started on the courage of those who fight for themselves, reagrdless of this partirachal society that pins the blame on the victim and views them with scorn, I won't be able to stop. It discusses the kind of shameless sexual predators that surounds every female all the time, wearing the most innocent of disguises, and how they must sleep with one eye open everyday because of the same but most importantly, it talks about the importance of justice. Another point, the world is in dire need of men like Justin and Regan, who choose to support the sincerity and honour of a woman over their own flesh and blood. I don't think any review I write will ever do justice to the intensity, boldness and brilliance of this novel but I can only say that while it deals with a lot of heavy content, this book is, any day, a one hundred percent worth it. I can't wait to find out what the author has in store for her readers in the sequel, 'Thorn Of Secrets'.
This was such an emotional read. Madison absolutely ripped out my heart with her story, and yet, I couldn't stop reading. Her life wasn't easy, yet she never lost her fighting spirit. This story will hook you from the first page, and you won't want to put it down. I absolutely cannot wait to read more of Madison's story, and the only downside to reading this is that it ended.
Scorn of Secrets by B. Truly is a captivating audiobook that defies genre expectations. At first glance, it may seem like another young adult romance, but it soon reveals itself to be so much more. The story follows Madison Guillory, a relatable and resilient protagonist, as she navigates the complexities of family drama, new relationships, and personal trauma. The narrative is filled with unexpected twists and turns that keep listeners on the edge of their seats, while the raw and honest portrayal of sensitive issues like sexual assault and mental health adds depth and poignancy to the story. Truly's writing is both engaging and thought-provoking, seamlessly weaving together themes of courage, resilience, and self-discovery. With its gripping plot and well-developed characters, Scorn of Secrets is a compelling listen that will leave audiences eagerly anticipating the next installment in the series.
Scorn of Secrets is the first book in the My Darkest Secret series by B. Truly. It's a story that has you hooked, however it's also very sad and was very hard to get through because of its contents. This book is the definition of a rollercoaster because on one hand when things are going good, you know at the back of your mind something really devastating is about to happen and when it does you'll need to put the book down, because that's what I did because I started crying. What Madison goes through is something we don't wish upon our biggest of enemies. The author has a way with words and their writing absolutely captivated because it doesn't dwell far from reality even though it's fiction and the way it draws you in because you can feel so much of hurt, anger and sadness for Madison is unlike any other. Talking about realism, even the characters feel authentic, like they belong to our world (and unfortunately the scummiest of them do) but, even the one's that are genuinely loving. My feelings for Madison sister is one that I have conflicting feelings for because I know people like her exist, I just wished they didn't. Overall, I loved this book a lot, however I would say to read it with great caution especially if you've been a victim of sexual assault. And always remember, you're never alone! Even if you feel like the world is against you in your darkest days, there will always be someone to be there for you. 🦄🦄🦄 Rated 9/10 Melina L.
Young adult is a genre that doesn’t get enough credit. This book gripped the emotions as the author takes you through a plethora of emotions. The way she lended depth to a sensitive subject that would grip the souls of survivors. By the time I made it to the last page I felt as if I was healing. I am Madison and her story is one that many women experience but never get retribution for. Madison became hope for me and her road to Justice is one that caused me to be contemplative and reflective. This author has been added to my list of must reads!!!🥰🥰🥰
I have never read a book by B. Truly so I didn't know what to expect. This is a powerful story that I won't reveal everything or spoil this story for you. But Madison's life is thrown upside down. She is afraid to tell anyone and when she tries to tell someone they don't believe her. Telling just doesn't affect her but her family too. She struggles with handling it and isolates herself. But secrets never remain secrets for long and now people are drawing lines in the sand. I felt for Madison throughout this whole book. She is the character you fall in love with and root for because she is so lovable. But especially after everything she goes through you love her even more. She is a strong girl who is dealing with some horrible things. I wanted to be her shoulder to cry on and I wanted to be the person who told her to speak her truth. It will set you free. I can't wait to read the next book in this series. There is so much story left to tell.
Things change quickly for Madison when she loses her father. When she is somehow overcoming her grief, her mother moving on by finding a new boyfriend only adds to her misery. On top of this, her mom informs her that they will be moving to Houston- to live with Regan, her boyfriend who also has two sons of Madison's age.
But moving to Houston brings Justin in Madison's life. She is conflicted about her feelings for Justin who would soon be her stepsibling but she can't deny the fact that she is in love with him and he loves and cares for her equally.
One day, one incident and everything changed once again for Madison. She broke up with Justin. She wasn't her normal self anymore, something was eating her from inside, little did she realise that only justice could bring her peace now.
I loved reading this book and it was very engaging to say the least. All the characters are so nicely written especially that of Madison, she is a sweet and simple girl yet she knows how to stand her ground. I adored Justin's character too. The most interesting part of this novel was the interrogation and the most heartwarming part was the cute loving relationship between Justin and Madison.
I felt all the emotions conveyed throughout the book whether it be that of love or pain. The story is told from Madison's POV which makes you connect to her character and understand her as well as empathize with her. The characters as well as the plot is well written. I don't read many YA novels but I enjoyed reading this one, looking forward to read the next book of this series.
This story was well thought out and written in a way where I could feel the same feelings that Madison was feeling. It gave a new perspective being able to really walk through this story through Madison's eyes. After the event it was so infuriating just waiting to see how this plays out. It kept you on edge and anxious see the next step and hoping that all works well for Madison. I would definitely recommend this story, just keep in mind some of the mature themes but this book was definitely a good read!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I chose to read this book based on the very intriguing blurb. I thought this was a well written story that held my attention throughout the story. The suspense was palpable. The reveals unbelievable yet fit the story very well. Nicely done.
I requested a copy of this book so I could provide an honest review.
Scorn Of Secrets by B.Truly is a young adult fiction that revolves around two teens Justin and Madison.
I was completely involved in reading this story as it had very good chemistry between Justin and madison. I also enjoyed the humor of Justin and his Twin Brother.
I felt a little uncomfortable while I am reading some situations in the story. Because Madison was just a 16year old but have to go through really hard times.
I really felt someone should be there to support Madison. But I felt if someone is there she may not come out as a very strong person.
Madison's characterization as a Strong girl is the main plus of the Story. This story has many twists and turns which makes the story more interesting. If you once start reading the book you can't leave it in the middle. I have a habit of reading books for an hour before going to bed. But this is the first time I failed to close the Book and read it the whole night. I want to give this credit to the author for writing this book.
