Evening Train: A Short Story

This short story introduces main characters from an upcoming novel of speculative history and fantasy. Entitled "Mountain," the novel tells the story of a misguided man, his star-crossed family, and a massive public works project gone terribly wrong. The book is set in the turbulent years leading up to World War II and is based, in part, on my late mother's diary from that period. "Mountain" will be published by Elevation Press in December 2021.
