I had high hopes for this novel based on the rating and raving reviews. This is pure shounen 'badassery' that’s all talk and no substance. To summarize: The best spear genius is reborn as a child and struggles to compete with other children. He struggles to hide his abilities from a 10ish year old girl. That girl is also likely the love interest. Words like 'Revenge! Grits teeth! Smirks!'. He’s so powerful it doesn’t make sense but simultaneously so weak that even after years he struggles to overcome challenges meant for 10-12 year old children.

If you don’t like chapter one don’t continue reading. It’s all the same and worse.
