This is the fifth in the Valentine's Day "Roulette" series featuring nine couples paired for the über-exclusive Black Light's BDSM contest. While most are standalones, the bookend stories and Shane Starrett's include characters from previous books, and Renee Rose's entry revolves around characters from her new "Chicago Bratva" series.
The "Roulette" books excel at combining a Smorgasbord of well-described kinks (unusually wide-ranging this year) with some character connection and growth -- particularly admirable given the brevity of the novella format. As always, I appreciated the emphasis on safety, safe words, limits, and consent; and that the prose and editing were decent.
Overall, I felt that this collection was more focused on fun and less on the "reluctant submissive"and "all-knowing dom" character types prevalent in the past books; I liked this since both are overdone and usually involve arm-twisting that skirts the line of consent. I also enjoyed reading about some new kinks. Finally, I really appreciated that this entry features some diversity in sexual orientation and ethnic representation.
That said, stories suffered from unnecessarily long intros and abrupt endings; the technical language regarding the equipment at times overwhelmed this reader; and some scenes and dynamics had a samey feeling to them (I realize that this is the fifth book). I do recommend this entry and the other "Roulette" books, however.
Below are my thoughts on and ratings for each story in order of appearance. Given the vast number of kinks represented, YMMV:
1) "Introduction:" Jennifer Bene & Livia Grant. Last year, the East and West Coast Black Light clubs bet on who would win Roulette (that is, on which couple performed their scenes best -- whatever that means). The East Coast won; a year later, the West Coast manager is still sulking. Between Elijah's toddler-like tantrums and the fact that this year's stories are all set in one club, this framing device encouraged neither suspense nor investment in the competition. While I understand that readers want to see familiar characters and that the authors need to convey necessary information about how the game works, I'm glad the writers decided . 2 stars.
2) "Heel:" Measha Stone. Pet Play & Pain Play. Blasé James meets newbie Sandra. Can he help her build confidence and can she reignite his BDSM spark? This was a mild story about two likeable characters engaging in some of the night's tamer kinks. I particularly appreciated James' care for and patience with Sandra. While it doesn't bring anything new to the table, it makes good points about the importance of effective mentoring. At times, the prose is too metaphor-heavy. 3 1/2 stars.
3) "Rushed:" Jennifer Bene. Shibari & Role Play. Football player Landon and actress McKenna both like it rough; thus, they seem like the perfect pairing until Landon's not sure that he can trust his play partner anymore. The kink scenes here were particularly well-described and vivid (most role play in this genre centers on Age Play, so the "Cops & Robbers" routine was a welcome change). That said, I had mixed feelings about Landon. At times, he was protective and supportive; at others, he was an a**. He pushed McKenna to answer questions that were clearly triggering. He insisted on a level of trust and honesty disproportionate to the length of time they spent together. And his reaction to McKenna's "mistake" was OTT and poorly motivated (indeed, his extreme reaction is never explained); thus, the conflict felt forced. In her place, I would have left and, once I think that, a story loses me. Note to authors who include actors as characters: Please read up on SAG-AFTRA regulations. 3 1/2 stars.
4) "Owned:" Renee Rose. Humiliation, Anal, & High Protocol. Bratva muscle Pavel spins Girl-next-door Kayla. Can she handle his desire for rough play? This is an opposites-attract dynamic featuring some of this genre's more familiar kinks. Both were likable (Pavel after a rocky start). Note: You do have to buy that a reputable club would allow in a known criminal. Note to authors who include actors as characters: Please read up on SAG-AFTRA regulations. 3 1/2 stars.
5) "Shattered:" Maggie Ryan. Chemical Play, Bondage, & Anal Intercourse. Two business rivals are matched by thesorting hat Roulette Wheel; can they put aside their professional differences long enough to play? Initially, I had my doubts about this story since I couldn't believe that any woman seeking to establish herself in the business world would risk that to submit to a competitor. To Ms. Ryan's credit, however, Braxton convinced Ember (and therefore me) that it wouldn't be a problem. From there on in, I enjoyed this story. I personally prefer my couples to be evenly matched (even within D/s) so I appreciated Braxton's respect for Ember -- and the kink scenes were among the hottest in the book. The Red Light District was an interesting touch (it appears in other stories). I confess I had to look up Chemical Play: it wasn't what I thought (thankfully) and really does sound divine. Note: Given the potential built-in conflict between the MC, I can see this continuing in a full-length book. 4 stars.
6) "Cheeky:" Livia Grant. Flogging & Dom's Choice. Divorced contractor Geo (he helped build Black Light) and wedding planner Harley have been burned by previous partners. Can they put their baggage aside to make tonight work? This entry was one of my favorites. Too often this genre depicts BDSM as an endurance contest, forgetting the "play" in, well, "play." I appreciated the MC's banter here; that both were experienced; and that both were successful professionals. Despite the age difference, they were well-matched. Note: Given their connections to Black Light regulars, we may see them again. 4 stars.
7) "Pierced:" Raisa Greywood. I liked this enough that I read the full-length book. 4 stars.
8) "Bareback:" Shane Starrett. Sybian-Orgasm Torture, Electrical, & Breeding. First, I want to be very clear about what kink-shaming is and what it isn't. Kink-shaming is defined as humiliating someone for their sexual desires or fantasies that you don't share. That said, one can disapprove of certain sexual practices for perfectly valid ethical and/or legal reasons: I think we can all agree, for example, that pedophilia is bad. This is my long way of saying that breeding -- defined as deliberately conceiving a child because it gets your rocks off -- is bad. A couple who has spent literally hours together before embarking on parenthood is at best irresponsible and at worst a recipe for disaster. What will the baby end up being? The living, breathing embodiment of their kink or a person in his or her own right? Will they love it? Care for it? Can two near strangers co-parent effectively? The fact that at no time do the couple actually discuss the baby (only the impregnation) or address any of the issues I raise before they have sex indicates how unlikable, shallow, and obsessed they are -- which would be fine if they weren't bringing a non-consenting third party into their dynamic ("Mommy, where did you meet Daddy?" Err, is Daddy even in the picture?). While I imagine that the author will address these concerns in the forthcoming full-length book, I find this concept too repellent to continue. Note: At the very least, STDs should have concerned the doctor. 1 star.
9) "Butterfly:" Ann Mayburn. Orgasm Denial, Switch, & Fisting. Very large personal trainer Soren pairs with very small personal trainer Butterfly. Though well-matched in terms of energy and enthusiasm, will their size differences prove too problematic? This was another story that put the "play" back in BDSM play. It was impossible not to grin while reading since Ms. Mayburn depicts the MC's vibrancy very well. She is a new-to-me author and one I would read again. I also appreciated that for one scene the dominant and submissive switched roles. Too often, these generic books represent BDSM as invested in traditional gender roles and it isn't (look up its origins). Note: There was one significant editing error when it seemed like Soren didn't know what Butterfly did for a living, even though she had told him. 4 stars.
10) "Forbidden:" Sinistre Angel. Knife Play, Role Play, & Humiliation. I had mixed feelings about this so found it difficult to rate. On the one hand, it has some of the more unusual kinks of the evening (knife play) and unusual dynamics (Orlando and Juliet are step-brother and -sister). But, one aspect almost ruined it for me. Orlando insists that Juliet . This story does lend itself to a full-length book since the nature of their relationship will likely cause conflict with their families. Note: "Orlando" does not appear in Shakespeare's tragedies. 2nd Note: Sinistre Angel is Golden Angel's alter ego. I'm not sure why she uses the other name here, since this is consensual, but perhaps I don't understand the alter ego's purpose. 3 1/2 stars.
11) "Conclusion:" Jennifer Bene & Livia Grant. See what I say above in the "Introduction." And I've never liked Jax. Note: I am glad the club hired a female DM. 2 stars.

In my opinion, this is the best Roulette that has been written so far........In no certain order, here is a little review for each story!
Owned- Renee Rose
We've met Pavel and Kayla in The Fixer. This short story featuring them was so hot. At first, Pavel is ticked off that he drew Kayla and he sets to prove she can't handle what he is going to dish out. Will Kayla be able to handle it or will she break? And if she does, will Pavel be able to put her back together! Loved seeing Maxim and Sasha also.
Heel- Measha Stone
Measha Stone's pet stories are some of my favorites so it was great to see Sandra roll pet play. James knew just what to do with her and it was one of my favorites. My only complaint............I want more of James and Sandra and you will too when you read it!!
Cheeky- Livia Grant
Geo helped build Black Light but when he draws Harley and she starts talking about how bad the design is, he dubs her, The Brat! I loved the connection between these two and Geo certainly knows how to draw everything from Harley. Another great story from Ms. Grant!
Rushed- Jennifer Bene
Holy moly!! (Can't say the other word that goes with holy, but you know what I mean!) This is one of the hottest stories in the collection. Landon, an NFL football player and McKenna, an actress, are there just to play. When things happen and emotions kick in, will it still be "just play" at the end of the night? Make sure you have a fan ready for this one!
Shattered-Maggie Ryan
Intense and this was a story with a scene that I've seldom read about. Ember rolls chemical play and wow!! I loved it and will be looking up more books that involve this type of play. Braxton and Ember were smoking hot. And again, I would love more of their story!!!!
Pierced- Raisa Greywood
OMG!!!!! This story had me telling my husband to leave me alone. (He was trying to talk to me while I was reading this) I'll be honest, the first scene Kacy rolls would be a hard limit for me but the way Ms. Greywood described it had me thinking hard about maybe moving it to a soft limit. I could easily picture the scene in my head while I was reading it. But Kacy is hiding something from Jafari and he's determined to find out why she ran away from him once before. When she rolls role play for the second scene, it's game on. Can he find out why she ran from him? This story SERIOUSLY needs more and I'm hoping and praying Ms. Greywood will write it. The story is in the top 3 for me. Welcome to the Black Light family Raisa!!!
Bareback- Shane Starrett
Mr. Starrett is the very first male to write in the Black Light world and with his story, he proves that he is worthy of the honor of joining all the other talented authors. Leave it to him to write about a "kink" you don't see on a regular basis. He did it with "Faris" and he does it again with this one. Davis and Jess each want the same thing but without the emotional investment that comes with it. But feelings have a way of worming their way inside heads and hearts and making Davis and Jess think twice. We do get a little epilogue and a teaser at the end!! Or is it "the end"? Seriously, this is right up at the top for me!
Butterfly-Ann Mayburn
Ann Mayburn is another author who is new to the Black Light world. I've read some of her other books and was thrilled to see what she would bring. Butterfly and Soren are total opposites, physically but their passions seem to be the same. When you read the story, you'll understand what I mean. The scenes they did were so hot but that last one...............WOW!!! I think that will stay with me for awhile!!! LOL Yes, it was that good!!!! Ms. Mayburn proves she is also worthy of joining this world.
Forbidden- Sinistre Ange (Golden Angel)
When I started this story, the title became perfectly clear. And it also because clear as to why this story was last. Throughout each of the previous stories, you hear two certain things that are being screamed out and everyone hears them. One of them is revealed in here. Juliet and Orlando obviously know each other from the onset of the game and what follows are some of the hottest scenes written. The scenes that Juliet rolls are some of the hottest ones you get to read. Nope, not saying what they are because you know, spoilers!!! Another smoking hot story that you won't soon forget.
As for The Afterparty and The Winner.....well, I'm just gonna let ya'll read it. The only thing I'll say is Jaxon, Chase and Emma have a smoking HOT scene together!! Enjoy!!! Hehe!!
If you haven't gotten this yet and you like all things kinky, this comes HIGHLY recommended. The authors have done an outstanding job of giving readers stories we will be talking about. And just to add, the three new authors... Raisa Greywood, Shane Starrett and Ann Mayburn fit right in and I hope to see more from them in the future that involve the Black Light world!!! Buckle up ladies and gents, this is a wild ride you're gonna love!!!

Black Light is a series i’ve had my eye on for a while now,and thanks to Raisa Greywood i got the opportunity to read Roulette Rematch.
It was a delicious set of stories,and i enjoyed it very much,some more than others.
I can’t name a winner,because it’s the overall feel of the night that left an impression for me.
All couples deserve a hea after their intense night,thát’s for sure!

Black Light stories are my absolute favorite BDSM stories, even though time and time again, they prove they are so much more. When I heard there would be another Valentine Roulette, I knew I had to read it.
The first story is Heel by Measha Stone. It’s about James, a Dominant who is getting a bit tired of the same old scenes and wants more. So when he spins Sandra, he is delighted! She is new to the scene and is looking for someone to guide her. These two are perfectly matched. I loved their interactions, chemistry and the fact I fell in love with both of them. This is a definite enjoyable read and hope it becomes a full length book!
Rushed by Jennifer Bene is so good! Landon is a football player and needs to have a night without the pressures of playing. He rolls McKenna, a fiery redhead who also wants to just be herself for one night. These two don’t always see eye to eye, but I could just feel the chemistry between them. One of their scenes brings out so much emotion between them, that you could just feel everything they felt. A definite must read!
Owned by Renee Rose has one of my favorite genres, Russian Mafia! Pavel is a hit man who has no time for goody goody type women, so when he gets Kayla in the spin, he isn’t happy. She’s too All American for him. But is she really? Kayla may be new to the scene but she knows what she wants. Will Pavel give it to her? I didn’t want this story to end at all! Loved every word!
Shattered by Maggie Ryan is about two ambitious business people who end up being put together after spinning the roulette. Ember and Braxton may have met in the boardroom, but being at Black Light is a totally different experience. I loved the chemistry and trust between these two. Can they put their differences aside and have a fun night?! Read on and find out.
Another great story is Cheeky by Livia Grant. I truly enjoyed this light hearted yet steamy read. George is tired of the same old scene and is hoping things will be different with the spin of the roulette. So when he lands on Harley, he is beyond delighted. These two made me laugh with their funny, yet lust filled banter. I really enjoyed this story and wanted more of these two sexy, endearing characters!
Pierced by Raisa Greywood was an emotional story. Kacy and Jafari knew each other from playing in the past, so when the spin puts them together, I just knew it would be so good between them. But is Kacy keeping something big from Jafari? Will he be able to show her that she can trust him? I really loved these characters. They are both so endearing in their own special way. I definitely need more of these two!
Bareback by Shane Starrett was about a kink I never heard of and this story intrigued me. It was also my first time reading anything by this author. I loved the characters Jess and Davis. Two career people who come together one night to fulfill a need they both had. I can tell you with certainty that I will be reading more by this author and I need more of these characters!
Butterfly by Ann Mayburn is a delightful story about a feisty Sub named Butterfly and a very large Dom named Soren. These two are perfect for each other even though their size difference may say otherwise. Their interactions made me laugh and I completely loved this story!!
Forbidden by Sinistre Ange was another new author to me. What a story! Taboo! Dark and delicious. Orlando and Juliet are two people connected in a way that most people would say is forbidden. But their chemistry is chart topping, so I hoped their story will continue. They just meshed so well together. Looking forward to reading more by this author.
The last part of this incredible book is about the Trio, and if you’ve read BL books, then you know who I mean. We also found out who was the winner...West Coast or East Coast? You want to know, then read this phenomenal BL book!

I'll be honest here this couple really brought the sparks and sizzle. You could feel the intensity of their attraction from the moment of their first interaction and things only got better as their story unfolded. This book features Shibari.

Things get very intense as things come to the boiling point and I have to say that this read tested my emotions and took the top spot for me.

BL Roulette Rematch is a book worth your time! I absolutely love the collaboration between the authors! You can tell that they put the time in to make sure there is consistency across all the stories and that the feel of each story isn't too different and really fits this world!
Heel by Measha Stone - I FLOVED this story! I love the chemistry that build between James and Sandra. Measha nails the chemistry and I how he nicknames her during one of there roles as it fits perfectly!!!They are such a cute couple and I for one would love to see more of them!!!

Can I give more than 5 stars? Every single story was smoking hot and well written. This book gave all the feels in one way or another. Not a sorry one in the bunch. I think BL West killed it this year. I enjoyed Measha Stone’s story with the new service submissive who finds just the right Dom for her and makes pet play into a sexual awakening. Sister ange hit all the forbidden buttons with her story of knife play, teacher student tole play and step brother kink. Shane Starrett was a new voice this time and really rang the bell with his story Bareback. I can’t wait for the follow up story of those two. Raids Graywoods story was also excellent with needle play, cell popping and a test of hard limits that was heart wrenchingly well written. I’d love to see more of these characters in their own book. I wondered if BL Rolled will come out of Livia Grants story. It would be a great place to further develop the characters she brought to life so well. Jennifer Bene’s story was also so well written and believable. Hot and romantic all at once. I definitely want more. Overall, nothing but praises and accolades for all the authors and their stories. From (relatively) tame to highly taboo, this anthology covers a broad spectrum of subjects and styles. There are a lot of different things to choose from here, and several are things I’d never even considered before. I especially loved getting this look at some activities that are outside the usual run-of-the-mill Lifestyle play. Much like the classic box of holiday chocolates, there are morsels in this collection that are nothing I was expecting. This book could easily be the textbook definition of ‘not suitable for work’ so, curl up in your favorite chair at home, turn up the air conditioning, and settle in for another exciting Valentine’s event at Black Light.

When I first opened this book and read the first line, I got chills. I LOVE the Black Light series. This Roulette didn't just meet expectations... It FLEW past anything I've read in that world. I read new kinks, I read how some people can imagine new ways to inculcate new imaginings that I would never have thought of. - As a reminder to all readers, every bit of it was consensual. This year really spoke out to me the minds of the submissives and how they NEED to submit to feel whole, free. Wonderful Doms, powerful when unleashed. Beautiful submissives, divine when they too are unleashed.

This wasn't my favourite of the series but still a fun read.
Heel was one of my favourites. Love a good pet play and I like how the dynamic and backstory was addressed and the couple had their meet cute first. James was attentive and understanding, I really enjoyed the way he interacted with her.
In Rushed I liked the dynamic between the two. The story had more potential, like more about why Adam was mentioned and Bartlett's career goals from the beginning, but they made a really nice pair and the chemistry really worked. His issue with the drinking really expanded his character and I appreciated that it was overprotective but also showed his vulnerability. Their scenes were fun and down to earth and you could see how they would have a longer connection.
I liked Owned a lot, those Russians do it for me. But I was a little confused just from not having read the others in Renee Rose's Russian series. I found this character went from intense harsh unfeeling sadist to mush in .2 seconds and I couldn't really pinpoint why. They seemed to barely do anything related to what they spun and it took me out of the story a bit how they would let a Dom with no experience just mess around with it all. But it was hot to read their scenes and I loved his character's sadism.
Shattered was super interesting, I hadn't read chemical play before and it was well explained while still being sexy, I don't know how authors make figging sound good to me when IRL it does not appeal at alllll. That's how I know it's a good writer!
I very much liked Cheeky. I loved the fun play and the way the characters grew. I really liked showing that other side of play where it can be lighthearted and still really sexy. The pirates were awesome, the chase was amazing, their chemistry was so so good, and I loved the Daddy dynamic right off the bat.
Pierced was hot, I loved that scene and that couple seemed really connected. The background story had a lot of potential and I hope they get their own book.
Bareback was entirely off for me. I get the kink and was looking forward to it, but the way it's explained and the way the Dom describes it just comes across super ick and impulsive and somewhere between wanting to settle with a family but also not... I was always waiting for them to get disqualified or kicked out, I was sure there was a condom rule at the club. I understand the concept of the breeding kink and it would be even more taboo with a stranger, but also no talk of STIs and no thought of what happens next at all seemed out of character, this kink could have been discussed reasonably and done in a relationship or at least a conscious choice together and not a lusty whim. As well, the heroines over the top freak out after is so unnecessary considering the situation, and insane that he believes it's his fault. This one just wasn't for me, though the Dom's backstory was interesting and having really enjoyed this authors book from the Daddy Dom series, I'm going to for sure give it a try if there's a full book released.

I found a few inconsistencies in the book, like how they talk about both being trainers but a page later he says he doesn't know what she does that keeps her figure, just little things. Some women can't even be fisted by regular size hands and the idea it just "stretches" for everyone is dangerous so it was good that was kind of worked around. Overall it was cute and again, super hot Dom. Like a giant Teddy Bear.

There was a lot to unpack there that I wish had more time to be expanded on so I'm really hoping they have a story coming!
The ending was really intended for those super onto the original Black Light trio and their scenes/stories and the club dynamics and side characters. I don't mind as I'm sure some people really look forward to those interactions, I found I skimmed most of it, it really wasn't important to me who won because I just enjoy the stories and I don't remember the background of the other characters/staff enough to really understand what all is happening. But for those following the past characters closely it would be right up their ally!
I did find it odd that a sub safe worded during the play and it caused a commotion and all the couples heard it, but it never came up again during any of the debriefing or summaries or conversations with the club staff or owners once at at the end of the night when they were talking about the couples... Maybe/hopefully they will get their own story. There's actually a few I'd love to see, Ivy's being one too!

I've read a couple of the stories so far and all have been OK. None have annoyed or disappointed me, so that's a positive. One or two seemed a bit slow getting to the couple meeting at the roulette event and that had me skimming pages at times. I appreciate that it's good to get to know the characters, otherwise the story will fall flat, but that can often be achieved through internal monologue and conversation between the characters.
I normally love the anthology, but so far the feeling is more one pleasant enjoyment than being blown away. It's still a good read thus far and well worth the time and effort.

I only downloaded this book because of one story so my rating isn't for the whole book its just for that one. I wonder if Pavel and Kayla are getting a longer book?
Pavel is sorta excited and annoyed that he's finally going back to his hunting ground to let out his sadist self and inflect some pain in a sub. But he's annoyed that Maxim and Sasha tagged along and Sasha brought her friend Kayla to this club. He only seen her few times and has already disliked her for some reason.
Now with this Wheel of kinks ;) he gets paired up with her. He hates/loves it since he wants to break her and make sure a innocent woman like her doesn't belong with him I mean the club lol.
As for Kayla she might look innocent but girl is a sub she has all the innings of it and she's excited and wants to show Pavel the grump she can take his type of pain. Another winning book for the Black Light Series - die hard fans will love the return of favourite characters, but you would equally be able to jump in to the series at this point and enjoy the smorgasbord of stories and styles from various authors. Whilst each has their own style, there is great continuity of the story - everything gels really seamlessly together. I loved this deliciously filthy taboo story - really I could handle hearing more from these guys, although it was a very satisfying story. I could feel the tension coming though my kindle, I was totally captivated and the humiliation spin played perfectly into their story. Orlando is so commanding - I sense there is more of a backstory than perhaps was alluded to and Juliet’s reluctant acquiescence is beautiful. Brilliant.
We wrap up by more banter from both clubs desperate to find out who has done enough to win and are treated to a bit of Emma, Jackson and Chase....always a pleasure. And the winner is???

February 12, 2021These amazing authors weaved 9 thrilling tales for this year’s Valentine’s Day Roulette. I enjoyed every one of these stories – the intensity, edginess, passion, drama, and ingenuity these very talented writers were able to portray was absolutely staggering.
Introduction: Livia Grant and Jennifer Bene – You can feel a sense of urgency and anxiety from Elijah, Black Light West (BLW), to be prepared so he can win this year by beating Spencer from Black Light East (BLE). The winners from last years participants will be the judges this year and switch coasts to keep thing fair. Can’t wait to see the outcome of this one.
HEEL – Measha Stone – we get to see how James and Sandra get thru their two delicious rolls of the wheel. Loved how James took charge and taught instead of bullied his sub. I thought this one had a very gratifying ending.
RUSHED – Jennifer Bene – football linebacker Landon has trust issues which come out during his three hours with actress McKenna. She trusted him during their two spins of the wheel. Can he trust her feelings and reactions are real?
OWNED – Renee Rose – I love the Chicago Bratva series and we get a close-up look at Pavel in this delicious read. Max and Sasha were along as observers so we get to say a brief hello to them. Pavel wasn’t excited to get paired up with Sasha’s friend, Kayla, but that soon changed before their third spin of the wheel. What another fulfilling story and I’m looking forward to the next Bratva story, The Enforcer.
SHATTERED – Maggie Ryan – This was a pretty cool read where Braxton and Ember, two major business icons competing against each other in a meeting the next day, get paired up and spin the wheel three times for some exciting scenes. The “chemistry” between these two cannot be denied. Really liked this one.
CHEEKY – Livia Grant – As the name states, Harley was very cheeky. Geo, the contractor who designed and built BL, was paired up with Harley. She stuck her foot in her mouth more than once during their two spins of the wheel and paid the price at Geo’s hand. These two had a lot of fun and I enjoyed their three hours at BL.
PIERCED – Raisa Greywood – Now this was one of the best stories imo as it has an unusual kink – cell popping. Jafari is skilled in needles so he was able to do all his scenes with Kacy beautifully, even when they didn’t involve needles. Kacy has issues that Jafari and her will hopefully be working out in a future book. According to the authors comment on FB, it will be out at the end of 2021. I’m so looking forward to that follow-up story!
BAREBACK – Shane Starrett – Mr. Davis and Miss Jess roll a couple of delicious scenes that have the crowds watching raptly. The best part of this story is they have an unusual kink that isn’t even on the wheel. Loved it. The follow-up story to this one, Bred, will be out in March 2021.
BUTTERFLY – Ann Mayburn – wow, Master Soren and Butterfly (Tori) were an unusual couple. He is approx. 6’5” and she is 5’. They both are personal trainers so thank goodness they are in excellent shape for their interesting spins of the wheel. I loved the second spin the best and got a bit of a giggle out of how the author describes it in detail. This one had a fulfilling ending.
FORBIDDEN – Sinistre Ange – this one was very well done. These two, Orlando and Juliet, know each other outside of BL and you will discover how in this entertaining read. The three spins of the wheel and how they were executed were exciting and crowd entertaining.

A touch of the taboo is what Sinstre writes best and this is no different with Juliet and Orlando who are pared together in this hot and steamy show with a twist..
And wow this is the best show on Valentine Day and if I could I would give each story 5 stars....loved the Roulette and I definitely can’t wait to see what next year brings..

Enjoyable read for the most part.

Boring. Ended up skimming thru it and was quite annoyed by the 'Mistress Madison' situation. Why can authors not just let a female dominant be dominant? Oh, and the Elliot/Lisa interplay reminded me of why they were a bad pairing; she deserves so much better.
'Heel' by Measha Stone (3/5)
It was nice, not exciting but not boring either. Leads were likable and their play was enjoyable. Loved the ending, both sweet and realistic.
Can recommend.
'Rushed' by Jennifer Bene (3/5)
Good story. Female lead was a strong, fiery and fun. Male lead was a good mix of cocky, caring and issues. However, he never apologized and explained his idiocy after making her explain her hard limit so the relationship-building was rather one-sided. Smut was great and kinks were well-done. And it had another realistic ending.

And the male lead knowing everything while the female lead knew nothing, despite having been playing for years, made suspension of disbelief difficult to impossible. Relationship-building was non-existent. Chemical play scene was amazing! Bondage scene not so much. Last scene was a unique idea but failed in the execution.
Don't recommend.

I look forward to this collection each year. I get to see old favorites and also discover new ones. I like that there are new and old kinks that I get to experience or learn about.
This book felt different than previously published anthologies. I was expecting both coasts to be a part of this. It only focused on the West coast with a summary of the other coast. That left me a little bummed because I didn't feel like I had a say or investment like I did last year.
I did like seeing Jaxon, Emma, and Chase with their family. They keep getting better and better. Even though this wasn't my favorite, it was still a great collection to this amazing series and collaboration.
