Vegas Aces #3

Fair Game

Rate this book
When the guy I’m fake engaged to suggests we get married in Hawaii, I’m all in.

And then I meet his family.

His parents look upon him with disapproving eyes, and that’s nice compared to the way they look at me. His pro quarterback brother thinks everything’s a contest, including wooing me away from Luke. His sweet and bubbly sister is the one saving grace in this family.

None of them are playing fair, though.

It’s up to us to beat them at their own game. Teaming up with Luke only pushes us closer together, but he still won’t give into the heat between us. I’m his best friend’s little sister. He and I are roommates. I work for him.

They’re all reasons that don’t really matter since I’m marrying my Prince Charming at six o’clock on the beach.

Too bad it’s not real.

FAIR GAME is the third book in the VEGAS ACES series. This series must be read in order.

I've read many of Lisa's books, and I've always enjoyed them immensely. Fair Game is the third installment in the Vegas Aces series, and it totally blew me away. This series has been an absolute delight to read so far, and without hesitation, I believe this is some of Lisa Suzanne's best work to date.

Ellie Nolan and Luke Dalton's saga continues with the Dalton family in Hawaii preparing for the upcoming nuptials. Ellie is madly in love with Luke, but she's not so sure he feels the same way. Maybe it's better if she calls things off and heads home to avoid further pain. But after witnessing Luke's family's behavior and the way that they treat him, she ultimately decides to stick by his side. It definitely won't be easy though with Luke and Jack's sibling rivalry, snooty parents, a sister questioning the truth and a pregnant ex who's determined to keep them apart.

Once again, Lisa has delivered a fantastic read filled to the brim with drama and angst. And that cliffhanger... Oh em gee, I need the next book like right now lol! I seriously loved everything about this story, and the rest of the books in the series are some of my most highly anticipated reads. Five stars for Ellie, Luke and the rest of the gang in Fair Game!

Ups and downs as Ellie & Luke’s story continues

As we get deeper into the story, I become more invested in their outcome. Parts of me WISHES for Luke’s POV because I really want to know what he is thinking. But the push and pull is delicious tension leaving me wanting more.

Luke and Ellie’s adventure continues and what a ride it has been! This third installment of their story is angst and drama filled! And that ending will leave you on the edge of your seat, goodness!

Ellie’s indecision about what to do kinda of got on my nerves a little, even though I understand her struggle with what to do about the wedding. What I really did not enjoy though was her indecision between these two brothers. Oof she really had me worried there.

Jack is such a little d***. Gosh I hope he gets what he deserves in the end. I really do not get why he’s the favorite in the family or the one who gets all the attention when he’s so rotten, ugh. Also up until this point I liked Kaylee, Luke’s sister, but now I’m not so sure. The way she acted towards the end of this book, not a fan! We’ll see if she becomes one more problem for Luke and Ellie to take on or not. I hope not, these two deserve more people on their side who will support them, even if it’s in their lie.

On the other hand, all of Ellie’s family is pretty amazing and supportive! I’m glad both she and Luke have them.

Am I the only one who terrible wanted chapters in Luke’s POV? I feel like these books are definitely missing in that department. I wish I knew what he was thinking and feeling and also know more about his past, we could get more hints about what all went down if we had some chapters from his POV. I mean, we can still read a little between the lines and in Luke’s actions of course but I wanted more ahah.

He is pretty darn amazing and he really showed his sweet side with Ellie. I can’t wait to see what happens next with these two! And I hope we get more on the exes front on the next installment too! I want more hints on the truth and solutions to their problems.

Whew! I need a minute to recover now that my heart is finished exploding in my chest and I can begin to form words again!  Not kidding at all!!  Lisa Suzanne's latest is the 3rd installment in her fantabulous Vegas Aces sports romance series.  Fair Game continues what has been and continues to be a skyscraper sized rollercoaster of emotions that's been keeping me perched on the edge of my seat, holding on for dear life!  OMG!

With these relatable characters- sweet Ellie with her fun loving outlook on life and 'Hot Luke', so serious about his football career and very jaded about love...you just know that their story is going to draw you in and keep you glued to these pages.  It's such a crazy journey so far and with Lisa in control of their happiness, it's guaranteed to be a wild, hair raising ride from start to finish!

Watch for the monkey-wrench throwers..they're all over the place..ahemmm...Jack?  May he get hit on the head with a Hawaiian coconut the size of his...ego!  With sibling rivalries, hate bombs flying, haywire adventures, big secrets and bigger surprises in the mix...will the plans Ellie and Luke  envisioned come off without a hitch???

Newsflash..there is a cliffhanger the size of Maui at the end of this one!  Boy, was I ready to throw my Kindle when it happened!  It's another doozy of a heart stopper and just when it was looking so good too!  Lisa Suzanne...I'm gonna need some sort of medication to keep my sanity while reading this series! You are such an evil woman, lol!  Now I have to wait to see how this all plays out for our determined couple..dying here...Waiting Game can't come soon enough.

I read an early version of this book and have given it my honest review.

A Great Continuation of Luke & Ellie's Story

Fair Game picks up right where Long Game left off. Ellie went along with Luke on his family's annual adventure and this year they are going to Hawaii. What a perfect place to get married! That should be great if anyone believed they actually loved one another. Then we need to add in Luke's arrogant brother Jack who announced that until they were married Ellie was fair game.

This series just keeps getting better and better. I am so hooked on Luke and Ellie's story and can't wait for the next book to see where this story is headed next. What secrets are out there yet and will Ellie finally find out what Luke's feelings for her actually are.

Okay, I'll be honest. The beginning of this book had a few issues for me. I wasn't sure I entirely believed it. But as the story progressed, I found that to be less problematic. There was lots of good stuff going on here. The ending didn't entirely surprise me but I feel like there is so much to be revealed in the next book and I am totally looking forward to it.

This is a series of five short books -- each ending on a cliffy until the fifth where readers score with an ending that completes the series. I wasn't aware of the short and cliffy presentation until I got into the series. The fun and games and characters made me stick around. Yes, it was a bit frustrating and even annoying but it is what it is and I was completely taken in by the characters and storyline. So, I'm not going to grumble much. I needed something light and fun and that's just what I found even with a bit of angst. What would a romance be without a little angst? And I also am a major fan of sports-related romance and football especially.

This series started in March and finished the middle of April so wasn't a bad wait in between books. These five books featured Luke Dalton and Ellie Nolan. Luke's older brother Jack Dalton will be the featured quarterback in Season 2 of the Vegas Aces -The Quarterback series. I've already read it and was completely pulled into Jack's story as well.

Overall, fun to read and a break from heavier reads I've found myself addicted to lately. One review for all five of these books.

Oh thank goodness that ending from Long Game didn't keep going how it could have......but Ellie, why you gotta tempt yourself like that??? That was the only issue I had with Ellie during this one, was her thoughts about Jack at times, especially knowing how she truly felt about Luke. I'm glad though that Ellie listened to her heart, and stayed loyal to Luke. Seeing how his family is with him, he needed someone to have his back 100% - and none of them had it. I thought his sister was #teamluke, but now I'm not so sure.

Jack.....yeah, I'm not a fan, and even though he's totally right about Luke and Ellie's situation, for once, why can't he just back off and not push their buttons? Grr. I know there is still more to be revealed about the history between Jack and Luke - and with that ending, I'm sure some of that will be revealed soon!

And Luke.....I sure love the guy, but why can't he see what is right in front of his eyes? Ellie is THE perfect woman for him, even though they haven't known each other long. She had an out to not go through with their deal, and still she stayed. If he didn't care for her on a deeper level, why would he have called and brought her family to be there for the wedding? Ahh, I just want to shake him silly, because he is so swoony and does the sweetest things for her, yet still won't admit what we all know to be true.

Seriously, this series is soooooo addictive and each book leaves me wanting more!! Cannot wait for the next book to see what happens next!!

OMG! 😱
Lisa Suzanne has done it again!
H🔥T Luke and Ellie's story is amazing and frustrating and oh so addicting! Not only do they have off the chart chemistry but they've completely sucked me in with all their drama, denials, secrets, lies, half truths but even putting that all aside the fairytale she wants is within her grasp .. now I'm desperately waiting for book 4 to know what the results of that bomb that imploded at the end of book 3. I'm so anxious, but excited, happy yet cautious .. my emotions are ALL OVER the place!

I think Manny said it best:
“This is not the beginning of Luke and Ellie’s story but rather an acknowledgement of the next chapter they will write together."

It's so fitting to Ellie & Luke and this series, especially when it appears that Lisa Suzanne is REALLY trying to outdo herself with the cliffhangers in this series.. don't worry, her reign as 👑#queenofcliffies 👑 is still going strong with no end in sight .. well at least until this series ends .. hopefully 😉♥️

Okay so when I started this book I was hella confused, that I had to go back and read the previous ones. And then I got it, lol

And I was hooked. This is one of this series that you have to read the previous books or you will be lost. And it kind of continues on from the previous books. And I was so attached to see where Luke and Ellie’s story was going.

I just have to say that Ellie really annoyed me in some parts where she just couldn’t make up her mind. And seriously what the heck is up with Jack, like dude get a life. He was not my favorite even though it appears he was everyone else’s in the family ☹

Definitely a quick and action packed read. You will so be all over the place with this read. Anxious, excited cautious annoyed, etc… This will have you on the edge of your seat to see what happens next, and then I just ends. ARGH…I need the next book like now!!!

The saga continues. Luke sure frustrates me a lot with how he acts toward Ellie. He is very closed off and he is up and down towards her. I can’t stand his brother Jack or his parents. I get frustrated with Ellie when I feel like she is falling for Jack’s innuendos that he wants Ellie. There is definitely some secret going on in that family that Ellie nor her brother knows about. But Jack is sure working against Ellie and Luke. When Luke is sweet to Ellie, I am pulling for him. Luke does do some super sweet actions for Ellie. The end is another cliffhanger that I can’t wait to read the next book. I encourage you to read the book as you can’t come this far and stop! I was given a copy of the book and voluntarily wrote a review.

Well hell in a handbasket, butter my biscuit and all the cheesy quaint quotes. Ellie has a lot on her plate. She is marrying the man of her dreams-her prince charming. She has "feelings" now but is it more than just a publicity ploy for Luke? Torn between helping Luke especially with the disaster that is his family and having a true happily ever after, will she go forward with the fake wedding? There is more happening behind the scenes and while hiccups are expected, the train wreck that is coming will leave your jaw hanging at the end.

Oh Ellie what have you gotten yourself into? Luke's family is just a hot mess. I especially don't care for Jack. He thinks he can have anything or anyone he wants. I can't wait for the next book to see what happens in Hawaii.

Ellie and Luke have hit Hawaaii and with that has come some family secrets. As they prepare to marry, Ellie cannot help but wonder what she is marrying into and if her feelings will ever be reciprocated. Lisa continues to deliver characters that you cannot help but resonate with and a world you want to be a part of.

Fair Game is the third book in the “Vegas Aces” MUST READ five book series by Lisa Suzanne. This series is a continuation of Luke and Ellie’s emotional whirlwind that we all have become invested in and is in no way a stand alone. It will pick up seamlessly where “Long Game” left off. Where you will find everything is fair game and nothing is off limits. Propositions, relentless innuendos, medaling exes, sibling rivalries, family drama, unrequited love, secrets, lies and half truths that could change everything. Love, loyalty and chemistry will be tested, jealousy and speculations will flare. You will be left craving more and holding your breath to see what is next after the latest plot twist in this amazingly addictive series.

This third installment of the Vegas Aces series just keeps getting more and more entertaining. The Dalton family is very complex and each interaction becomes more awkward as Luke and Ellie move forward with their wedding. At this point it it is anyone's guess if it is for real or just because of their arrangement? The characters are all well flawed, and whether the scene is cringe or swoon worthy, I felt every emotion. I am so invested in the outcome of this story but really want to smack or shake a few characters. ~Cindy

Well after reading this third instalment I am left feeling a wee bit stabby!! Luke's family is simply put - horrible. I didn't think this at first about his sister but towards the end of this book she has me wondering what secrets she herself may be keeping. I guess I will just have to stay tuned....
Ellie was her fabulous self. She was a too-ing & fro-ing with her decisions and honestly who could blame her? Then that cliffhanger at the end!$# - you did me dirty Lisa Suzanne, that was just plain cruel.

Fair Game is the third installment of Luke and Ellie's story. I feel like I have a lot more questions than answers after reading! There was plenty of drama in this book, not only between Luke and Ellie, but with Luke's family. They are so coldhearted! Makes me feel super bad for Luke. Ellie and Luke also drove me crazy a bit. Ellie for indecision, which I understand to an extent, but also her near decisions when it came to Jack, Luke's brother. Luke for holding back and whatever secrets hes hiding. I really wished we got chapters from Luke's POV. I feel like theres something missing without them. There are still so many secrets to uncover and hope we finally get some answers in the next book!

Fair Game, book 3 in the Vegas Aces series continues Luke and Ellie's journey with their upcoming, spur of the moment, wedding in Hawaii. Lukes mom and dad are less than thrilled about the couples relationship and make it well known to both characters. Add Lukes finagling brother to the mix and the story just gets better and better. With so many obstacles and surprises in their fake and real paths, will Ellie ever receive her fairytale ending? I loved this book and am anxiously awaiting book 4. Lisa Suzanne this series is the best!

The saga of Luke and Ellie continues. This story and these two are so fun to read about. The plot is definitely thickening and adding yet more layers of mystery, and watching them go through it is fun and exciting, and I can’t wait to see where their journey takes them next.

Once again, Lisa Suzanne crafts an entertaining story that reels you in until the end. Fair Game is a fast paced, fun, sexy read with a touch of angst and plenty of drama. I already can’t wait for more of these two in the next instalment.

I’m still not a huge fan of Ellie but she is slowly gaining back my approval. I don’t necessarily agree with many of her decisions though. I don’t know why but I have a hard time believing she’s in love with Luke. 🤷🏼‍♀️ kind of like Luke’s family haha.

Luke is kind of frustrating. The man is completely wish washy & id kind of like some chapters from his point of view to see where his head is at. Because at this point I have no clue.

The ending has me curious to how this is all going to play out. This couple has more drama than any other I know. Even though I’m not loving the characters this story still has me reading because I just need to know how it’s all going to end.

This is book three in the Vegas Aces series. Ellis and Luke's story continues with temptation and attraction. Theae two are smarter together than they seem. There is no.doubt that real feelings are surfacing on both sites of this fake marriage. Another cliffhanger ending but no worries Ellie and Luke have everything under control. Looking forward to the next segment. Enjoy!

Fair Game starts off with a power punch and ends with your jaw dropped on the floor. Lisa Suzanne is doing her best to keep the readers invested in this series with her amazing endings for each book. In this book Ellie and Luke have to team up to bear the weight of his family. We also gain more insight to Ellie and her feelings about their marriage while Luke is keeping things close to his heart. There are glimpses of just the two of them together and they seem so perfect. With the way this book ended I can't wait to start the next book.

This one was a page turner!! I couldn’t put it down. The heart wants what the heart wants and Ellie’s wants Luke. The big question is, what does Luke want? What’s the secret Jack has and how does it effect Luke and oh mt lanta.......the Daltons stink as parents!!! I’m so disappointed in them. Their breaking my heart!!!! This is a total must read!!!!! I loved it!!!

This picks up right where the previous books have left off. I thought my family was a bit crazy but Luke's take the cake. This book is filled with a little angst, a great build-up of anticipation, and a little bit of angst. I enjoyed the characters and secondary characters. I was a little confused as to why Ellie would be drawn to Jake when she has seen how nasty and crazy the members of Luke's family is. That baffled me and seemed out of the context of the story.

Still, a solid continuation of the story and ends on a cliffhanger that will make the next book interesting.

Still with that stupid ending. Why did that scene even play out? *sigh*
The needless drama levels are very high in this one. It’s sweet at the end, but I never feel like Ellie is Luke’s focus in here. It’s mostly a book of grown adults squabbling, and really not enjoyable to read.
