When the worst-case scenario becomes reality, all the Lucky Charms in the world can’t solve our problems. Just when Luke started to open up, he closes himself off again.
When we first met, he assured me he was no Prince Charming. I’m starting to believe him.
And then tragedy strikes.
This can go one of two ways. Either he’ll lean on me the way a husband should lean on a wife, or he’ll push me away. But I’ve got a little secret of my own, and I have no idea what it means for our end game.
END GAME is the final book in the VEGAS ACES series. This series must be read in order.
Home Game (Book 1) Long Game (Book 2) Fair Game (Book 3) Waiting Game (Book 4) End Game (Book 5)
Lisa Suzanne is an Amazon Top Ten Bestselling author of swoon-worthy superstar heroes, emotional roller coasters, and all the angst. She resides in Arizona with her husband and two kids. When she's not chasing her kids, she can be found working on her latest romance book or watching reruns of Friends.
End Game is the fifth and final novel in the Vegas Aces series by Lisa Suzanne. In this, Luke and Ellie finally get the happily ever after they deserve, but their journey wasn't an easy one. There were so many obstacles to deal with - an ex-girlfriend, an ex-wife, a major secret getting out, a possible career-ending injury and the death of a family member. These two went through it all, but came out stronger in the end. This was the perfect conclusion to their story.
I loved this series so much! It was everything, and it had me all up in my feels. The angst, the tension, the drama, the romance, the utterly addicting and creative story line, the endearing characters and even the characters I wanted to strangle lol... All of it was absolute perfection, and I simply couldn't get enough. I sure will miss this couple, but maybe if we're lucky they'll make an appearance or two in one of her upcoming novels. We can only hope.
Well done Lisa Suzanne! Five stars and more for Sexy Ellie, Hot Luke and End Game! ♡
I completely forgot to write this review an honestly? It was probably for the best.
I could have skipped this one and been fine but I had made it through 4 other books that didn't need to be their own stories so what was one more? Might as well finish the whole thing off, right?
Well, overall, this series was a dumpster fire. The heroine was awful, the hero was a jackass, the storyline was one a daytime soap opera would be envious of, and I just did not enjoy any of it. At all. It was honestly absurd and I just ... I couldn't look away.
This series was 5 books. F I V E. It could have been 1. Maybe two if we were feeling frisky. But did we need 5 separate BARELY novel-length books? No, no we did not. I'm honestly mad at myself for reading these but the premise was SO GOOD and I was so optimistic. Save yourself the time and just skip this one. There are plenty better (and more substantial) sports romances out there to spend your time on.
This was a perfect ending to Ellie and Luke's love story! Everything finally came together for them and they got the HEA that was so deserved. Not much angst between the two of them in this finale but enough happening to each of them to make it a page turner!
Ahhh omg I can’t believe it’s over! We’ve reached the end of Luke and Ellie and I’m so sad this is the last I’ll see of them.
It’s been such a fun and insane ride. I’ve loved every minute of the wild ride these two took me on. And this final installment was incredible!! I was a bit scared with how the last part had ended but have no fear, Lisa did a wonderful job and really gave me what I was hoping for!!
All my prayers were answered!! Made me so happy! However my heart still felt so much for these two, both for what Luke was going through and how his grumpiness and bad humor affected Ellie. These two never had it easy, it was problem after problem but as long as they were together, everything would be alright and it was!! I loved these two and I’m so happy for them and how it all ended for them.
I’ve said this before in previous reviews of Lisa’s books but damn can she redeem a character! I really disliked Jack and I still do a little but I also like him now too! And I’m super curious about him, what his real deal with Michelle is and what his life will be like now. We got a big surprise at the end regarding him and I’m so so excited! And Lisa also redeemed the rest of Luke’s family in my eyes and she did such an incredible job with that part of the story. My heart was so happy (and sad) for Luke and his family. I can’t wait to see how their relationship will all go from here on out.
The Vegas Aces series was incredible! I’m obsessed with this couple and I look forward to reading anything else Lisa might give us in this world! And I hope that will include something in Josh and Nicki’s POVs.
➳ARC kindly provided by the author, in exchange for an honest review.
So far, out of the 3 books in the series I have read, the author seems to want to cram every single trope into this series. It's kinda like a car crash that I can't look away from even though I want to. I guess that means I'll be finishing the series. Updates to come.
Alas, Luke and Ellie's thrill ride of a love story is here for the taking, which means the last of their intense 5 book series is the End Game, for them at least. Wahhh, I'll miss those two!! Lisa Suzanne has outdone herself once again with this Vegas Aces series and can continue to wear her Queen of Angst crown!! My poor heart can now return to it's normal rythym again...maybe!
Holy wow!! Talk about rollercoasters...this one was the highest peak to climb in the park! So much to love that gives this story it's spicey goodness! Mysteries solved and questions I was dying to know, answered. Shockers, twists and more, more, more abound with likeable, lovable and a few evil characters too, depending on where you look!! Ellie and Luke have had some rough challenges to conquer but with a sweet love like theirs- their future dreams and a happy ending could be just what the doctor ordered.
This couple- Sexy Ellie- a bit clumsy, sometimes awkward but with a 'do not mess with me' attitude that is no joke!! She's a little bit crazy- might just cut you if you try to cross her or her man!! Hot Luke- sweet, intense and super smoldery but jaded after so much turmoil from his previous partners. He finally realized that his is 'meant to be' love was right in front of him since he met her on that steamy, fateful night...wink, wink. May they go on to live a life of blissful happiness forever more!
Now, what's this I hear??? Might there be more to the Vegas Aces than this?? Could someone we already know be getting a story of his own?? Will we get more to love from Luke and Ellie??? I certainly would welcome more from Lisa Suzanne anytime at all.. bring it on..please!!
I have been waiting on pins and needles for this book! It did not disappoint. If you read the last book, you know that Luke’s knee was injured pretty bad on the field. Ellie was so good about helping Luke and showing him what loved looked like. There were times I wanted to yell at Luke for the way he was treating Ellie. I was so glad that some important people to Luke told Ellie not to let him treat her so bad. Boy was he surprised when she fought back. I felt bad because she really had something important to tell him, but there was always an interruption. I was so happy with the test results of who the father was of Michelle’s baby. There was some heart wrenching news that ended up helping Luke’s family. If you have been reading this series, then you must read this book. I was given a copy and voluntarily wrote a review.
Did I skip all the unnecessary parts to get to this one? Yes I did. Did this meet my expectations: no. This was dramatic. Luke was a dick. The herione was not any better: grow a back bone girl. I thought I found a sports romance I could end up liking but nope disappointed af
Hot Luke and Sexy Ellie finally got their HEA and I am so glad I was taken on the ride with two great characters. As soon as this book landed on my Kindle I dropped all of the other books just to see where their journey was going to go next. They have been through so much and this book brought so much more to the table that I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough.
This author had created people within this series that I won’t soon forget about and I’m so glad to hear that there will be more to come. This is a must read sports romance series that I can speak highly enough of.
The perfect ending to this series. It had a sweet surprise, devastating news, reunions, & best of all a happily ever after. Plus some small hints for what’s coming next for the Aces. I think this was my favourite book of the series. I just loved every single moment of this read.
This is a series of five short books -- each ending on a cliffy until the fifth where readers score with an ending that completes the series. I wasn't aware of the short and cliffy presentation until I got into the series. The fun and games and characters made me stick around. Yes, it was a bit frustrating and even annoying but it is what it is and I was completely taken in by the characters and storyline. So, I'm not going to grumble much. I needed something light and fun and that's just what I found even with a bit of angst. What would a romance be without a little angst? And I also am a major fan of sports-related romance and football especially.
This series started in March and finished the middle of April so wasn't a bad wait in between books. These five books featured Luke Dalton and Ellie Nolan. Luke's older brother Jack Dalton will be the featured quarterback in Season 2 of the Vegas Aces -The Quarterback series. I've already read it and was completely pulled into Jack's story as well.
Overall, fun to read and a break from heavier reads I've found myself addicted to lately. One review for all five of these books.
Ellie and Luke are amazing. The chemistry they have. The support they give each other. I loved it all. I loved that they realized they could make this relationship work because what they have is REAL. I love that Luke is opening up and showing his feelings more. I love that they are having a baby! The places that they were both in at the beginning of this whole story and how different they are at the end is such a stark contrast. Ellie was just looking to have her first one night stand, and Luke was never ever getting married again, and now they are married and in love and are building this new life together.
I enjoyed Ellie a lot more in this book, compared to the last two. She was finally standing up for herself, taking charge of Luke’s PR, supporting Luke in his recovery and with his family. It was great to see her back to the character that she was in the first two books. When she took forever to tell Luke about the baby though, I was having a bit of a moment. I was all “come on Ellie, you can’t keep this a secret forever!”
And Luke. How much crazy shit can happen to one person? Honestly? The knee, the paternity test, the scandal with Jack, his dad? It never seemed to stop. I felt bad for him. But you know when I didn’t feel bad?! When he was treating Ellie like garbage during the beginning of his recovery. WTF man?! I know you’re hurt and your career might be over, but she’s just trying to help you dude. She loves you and isn’t going anywhere. Accept her love. You almost lost my sympathy for all the other shit that was happening to you. But of course then you came back, just like you told Ellie you would - “I want you to just hold out for the me you know. He’ll be back, and we’ll have our life back in a couple months, and we’ll be stronger for it.” - and I couldn’t stay mad at you.
PRAISE THE LORD IN HEAVEN!! GET THE F OUTTA HERE MICHELLE!! THANK YOU STORY GODS FOR MAKING THIS RIGHT!!!
The Dalton family? Is this for real? I want to believe it, but how can you go from family of giant douche bags to the best of friends in like two point five seconds?! Is this possible? So I have to like them now? I’ve spent three books severely disliking them. Especially Jack. I mean, he did have that redemption arc right at the end of the last book. I questioned it then, and I’m questioning it again.
And speaking of Jack, is he going through with this cockamamie stipulation his father gave him?! MISTAKE!! But like, I’m not supposed to like him, so I shouldn’t care. BUT I FREAKING CARE NOW. Damn fucking redemption arcs.
So apparently I had a lot of thoughts on this entire series. Just read it. It’s good stuff.
We finally made it to the End Game. We made it through every twist, turn and cliffhanger, and we got the wrap up to this story we deserved. Luke and Ellie get their HEA, but it wasn't easy. After the devastating ending to the last story, this picks up shortly where we left off. Ellie had her hands full with Luke in this one, and honestly I applaud her patience and perseverance. She knew he was the one for her, but she put up with a heck of a lot from him and had to essentially fight him to have the version she deserved. I loved Ellie in this one. I think she grew a ton of backbone, matured and showed that she could be a fantastic wife, but also that she wanted a true partner and she fought Luke to be that for her.
Luke had his trials and tribulations in this one. Lets be honest, what happened in the last book was bad enough, but then he had a couple more hits come in this one. While he faced a ton of tragedy, it also gave him some blessings in disguise and we saw Luke heal in ways I didn't think we would.
Luke's life-altering decision in this one showed me that he truly loved Ellie and was ready for the next step in his life. However, I think she loves him so much that she truly wants what is best for him and this may not be that. I think at the end of this one we got a glimpse that maybe Luke will change his mind and I'm excited to see how that would play out.
As someone named Michelle I can say this... I'm glad we finally got rid of Michelle! Thank you for not letting us go down that road. However... with the next chapter of Vegas Aces being about Jack, are we truly done with her? Can Lisa make me like her? I really don't think so, but I didn't think I'd like Jack and suddenly this book made me care about him.
Overall, this series was incredibly fun, witty and twisty-turny. You'll want to devour all five books, and eagerly be waiting for more of the Vegas Aces! As always, YMMV.
End Game (Vegas Aces #5) by Lisa Suzanne is part five and the conclusion of a serial contemporary sports romance. It's told entirely from the first person perspective of the female main character, Ellie Nolan.
This book picks up where the previous one ended. Luke just got seriously injured in a game, putting his future football career in jeopardy. Michelle is still living with them and being a royal pain as Luke and Ellie wait for the results of her paternity test to find out if she's really carrying his child. The Dalton family secrets are finally revealed, and Ellie has a secret of her own to share. Will Luke be able to keep playing football? Whose baby is Michelle carrying? What will happen if the media gets wind of the Dalton family secrets? How will Luke react to Ellie's secret? This book answers all these questions and more.
I loved the fifth and final installment in Ellie and Luke's story! There were times I wanted to smack Luke for being a moody jerk during his recovery, but I was happy that Ellie stood up for herself, put him in his place, and didn't let him get away with that kind of attitude as she helped him with the exercises he needed to do for recovery. It was good for both of them, because Ellie stopped letting him walk all over her and Luke respected her for it and loved her even more for it. There are still many twists and turns in this book, but all the questions set up in the previous ones are finally answered. This is such a fun, addictive series, and the ending did not disappoint! I can't wait for Jack's story in Vegas Aces Season Two.
Ahh!! End Game was just so fantastic!!! I loved the journey that Sexy Ellie and Hot Luke took over the course of this series. They had their ups and downs, but even when Luke kept pushing Ellie away, you just knew that he truly did love her. End Game definitely tested that theory, and I loved how Ellie pushed right back at Luke. With his injury, it put him in a bad place mentally - but Ellie was there to make sure the darkness didn't consume him. There are also some things that happened with his family, while they were super sad, the result of that was something beautiful. The Dalton family needed some much needed healing, and I think they are well on their way to that.
And I know that a lot of people don't like Jack - but he reminded me so much of Brian Fox (from the A Little Like Destiny trilogy) and I didn't think Lisa could redeem him, and she sure surprised me with him. So I knew there was always a little something good in him, and while I'm definitely not thrilled with the prospect of more Michelle.......I sure cannot wait to see what happens next! So glad that this is not the end of the Vegas Aces!!
Truly, this series could not have ended anymore perfectly!! And if you haven't started this series yet - what are you waiting for???? Go back to Home Game and get your read on!!
"For a person who absolutely detests cliffhangers I am left wondering who has done a body swap with me because honestly I am a little bit down that I have just finished Luke & Ellie’s story. What I am extremely happy with is how so many conflicts were resolved by the end of book five. But what has me grinning ear from ear is that there is definitely going to be more to come for the Vegas Aces and I am practically rubbing my hands together in glee as to who is one of the main characters. And I truly do not care one iota if there is to be one or more cliffhangers. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book." ~Sharon
We readers finally get the conclusion of Ellie and Luke's story. This last installment picks up at the end of Book 4 where Luke is hurt in the game. Life is changing for all of the Dalton's and the Nolan's as well. I feel like the theme of Book 5 is family and contentment. Everything works out as it should. There are highs and lows and you tackle them as they come. I really enjoyed this series and I am excited that it will continue with the other Dalton. For both Luke and Ellie, they had to survive the bad to be grateful for the good. ~Cindy
OMG ....what a perfect conclusion to this wonderful series of short reads. Every book I picked up in this series had me captivated and drawn in, I loved everything about Luke and Ellie’s journey and I was so happy I came along for the ride. In the last book in the series we see Luke coming to terms with a possible career ending injury, he needs to decide if he is going to fight for his place on the team, he also needs to decide if his future is with his bride so could this be the time this family put their differences behind them and come together to support each other in their hour of need. Ellie has put her heart and soul into this relationship but it’s not looking good but like all the books before this one this author won’t let us read a whole book without a few surprises so will surprise seal Luke and Ellie’s future, guess you need to read the book to find that out..... This is a wonderful series from a very talented author, I highly recommend it to all romance lovers.
Man all I can say is this was a long journey, lol… But I am glad to see that Luke and Ellie finally got their HEA 😊
These two characters did not have an easy road. And even in this book it just became more apparent that they really belonged together. Drama after Drama after Drama, but in the end it was so worth it 😊 I loved that they both knew that they had to be in it together. Luke was finally opening up to Ellie slowly but surely. In the end love and trust wins every time 😊 ♥
I have to say that Jack was still not my favorite character, but I think Im starting to warm up to him. And would really like to know what is going on with him. And the rest of Luke’s family, redeemed themselves in my book 😊
This whole series from the first book was just WOW… In the beginning I was skeptical but with each book it just got better and better. Truly a long road to happiness but so well deserved 😊 ♥
I really enjoyed this final installment to the series. Since it’s the final book, of course Luke and Ellie get their HEA, but it isn’t an easy journey. Luke is understandably grumpy after his injury, but he takes his frustrations out on Ellie. She has to work to help him when he doesn’t want help. She stands up for herself and becomes a stronger person. However she still has a hilarious little mishap at the doctor’s office. This little bit of humor took me back to the first book when she fell in the pool. I like that vulnerability in her character, but also that she sticks up for herself and stands by the man she loves. I’m looking forward to reading more books in the Vegas Aces storyline. I received an ARC for my honest review.
5 Star Review End Game (Vegas Aces #5) by Lisa Suzanne Firstly if you haven’t read the previous books then you need to stop as these books must be read in order. End Game is the fifth and final book in the Vegas Aces series and I couldn’t wait to see how Ms. Suzanne concluded Luke and Ellie’s story. Ellie and Luke have been through so much that it was wonderful to see them finally get the happily ever after that they so deserved. I devoured this book in almost one go as I just had to know how their story concludes. There were times when I laughed and times when I cried, my emotions were all over the place. End Game was everything I hoped for and so much more. All my questions were resolved and there were some heart stopping moments that had me on the edge of my seat.
End Game, the final book in Hot Luke and Sexy Ellie, is perfect! The Vegas Aces series was a rollercoaster but so, so worth it. This book fills all the gaps and answers to all the questions that piled over the last four books. And Lisa Suzanne did it in a beautiful yet unpredictable way.
End Game is filled with emotion and love. We finally get to see in full Luke as the Prince Charming Ellie has always believed he is, while Ellie demonstrates once more that she is a fierce heroine. Their love and chemistry just kept on building until it bloomed in this book, and it was magnificent to witness.
Don't get me started on the plot twists and revelations. But there are also so many funny moments. Trust me when I say, it is so good! The Vegas Aces is a binge-worthy series for sure. Super addictive. And guess what? There will be a season 2 featuring... Jack! I'm so ready.
The final book of the Vegas Aces series, Luke and Ellie's story was absolutely well written and well put together to include the deleted scenes and book bonus story to Luke and Ellie's HEA. I also enjoyed the excerpts at the end from chapters that did not make it in the actual story, (deleted scenes). Usually I am hesitant when I read series like this because the final book can be blah or lose its spunk. Lisa, on the other hand, did an excellent job with Luke and Ellie's story. The entire series was well written and had me getting heart palpitations! What a perfect ending. Bravo, bravo!! Loved It and cannot wait for series two, Jack's story.
What an ending! The perfect way to pull all out the emotions, obstacles, betrayals, and love together and close the chapter on Hot Luke and Sexy Ellie for now. The book picked up right where the Waiting Game left off with Luke being injured. Will this be career-ending? I loved Ellie’s unwavering support of Luke through all the crazy that just kept piling up. All secrets are now out, and Luke and Ellie are stronger than ever. I am also excited for the surprise the author dropped at the end; stay tuned for season 2! I recommend this series to all.
I received an advanced copy from the Author; this is my voluntary review.
End Game was everything I could want and more. When this landing on my kindle, I couldn't read it fast enough. The last book had me wanting to throw my kindle against the wall. That cliffhanger was torture!
We finally see the end of Luke and Ellie's story. Their love is like no other and are so truly meant to be. I loved absolutely everything about this last installment. While there is heartbreak, there was also love. One thing that I NEVER saw coming, was my change of heart when it came to Jack. I couldn't stand him in the beginning but may have had a change of heart toward the end of this book.
Lisa Suzanne has made me a must read fan of hers. Her writing is spectacular and she absolutely knows how to keep this reader hooked!
While I'm sad this series has come to an end, I have to give props to Lisa Suzanne for creating a series, with each full-length book releasing almost immediately after the previous book, and for me, each book was a 5-star read. I'd been waiting impatiently for this last book to see how things would play out for Luke and Ellie, and by the time I reached the end I was more than happy with the way the story and series wrapped up. Not gonna lie, I'm still no fan of Jack, but he did somewhat redeem himself by the end, enough so that I'm hoping he'll get his own story. Jack was only the redemption, but that's all I'll say about that aspect, except to say that I wonder how the family arc will hopefully grow in the right direction.
End Game Vegas Aces Book 5 Lisa Suzanne F I N A L L Y Th ambulance, the injury, the secrets. Luke Dalton in all his grumpy glory and tough as nails, smart, caring, loving Ellie finally get their chance. Despite the obstacles and betrayals these two finally get their hea. This book has all the feels, carefully crafted characters and surprises at every turn. For me this series is joy and pure escapism, I loved it. Our sporty hero and driven heroine are people you would love to know, even their extended families grow on you a character driven story. Watch out for season 2! This is the concluding book in this 5 part series, definitely not a stand-alone, but a fitting conclusion to a series I loved. I strongly recommend you binge this series right now! I received an arc of this book. 5 footy stars
This author did a fantastic job with this series! Each book pulls you in as you anxiously wait for the next book to be released (thank goodness it's only a few weeks at a time). The characters are not perfect but they love each other and will do what it takes to make it work, even if it took Luke a little longer to catch on. Ellie has a heart of gold and believes deep down that her Prince Charming is in Luke somewhere. Loved how everything all came together and even loving that this series will continue with Luke's brother Jack's story. Can't wait for that as I'm sure it will be a wild ride!
The perfect ending to Luke and Ellie's story. It continued right after The Waiting Game ends and continues to the two of them moving forward after Luke's injury. And at the same time, Ellie got a piece of major news but she didn't know how Luke would react after so much has happened to him and them. I loved Ellie, right from the start of their story I knew she's going to be a headstrong woman to stand beside Luke. And this book right here proves it.
I'm looking forward to Jack's story now. Not sure how he's going to redeem himself after how he was to Luke. But we'll see!
