My father is the beloved president of the Dogs of Fire MC out of Portland, Oregon and I am a faithful member of the club. But I’m torn between the love of my career and the responsibilities of my club. What I hadn’t expected was a long-lost love to crash back into my life and turn it upside down.
Tate
I have been in love with Flash Wallace since I was young... but he broke my heart into a million pieces and seems to think he can waltz back into my life like nothing happened. The problem is, I want to believe all his pretty words and go back to the way things were before our bond was broken.
Do I trust my head and keep my distance, or go with my heart and let him back in?
New York Times & USA Today Bestselling Author Piper Davenport writes from a place of passion and intrigue, combining elements of romance and suspense with strong modern-day heroes and heroines.
She currently resides in the Pacific Northwest with her author husband, Jack Davenport, and an obnoxious YorkiePoo named Pepper who may or may not be an international spy.
I couldn’t put this book down, it kept me on the edge of my seat throughout wanting to know what happened next. We’ve watched Flash and Tate grow up throughout the series so it was exciting to see a whole book dedicated to their journey. They went through all the stages of friendship, childhood friends, young loves, crushing heartbreak and then finally second chances. A misunderstanding leads to Tate ghosting Flash but as soon as he knows she’s back in town he confronts her. Will they get a second chance at a HEA?
And so starts the next generation. Flash has grown up right before our eyes and let's just say that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. He and Tate have been best friends most of their lives, until there were signals crossed and a situation that may not have been what it appeared to be. After a few years of the cold shoulder, Flash finally gets a clue, from some old familiar faces, and isn't about to let Tate off the hook. You could call this a slow burn, with as long as these two have been circling each other, but when the sparks finally fly... oh boy! That's not to say that there aren't some bumps in their road, history coming back to rear its face, and a few twists and turns make this another winner in the series.
Tate was not a good h, immature and petulant. Mad at him for something he never did, ghosted him for 6 years. Just no.
Flash was perfect, he would have waited for her to be his first if she hadn't had her head so far up her.....
I also dislike when other characters are mean/rude to the H over the h's mis-directed spite even when it's clear she was wrong. Nope, nope nope. Gonna start a campaign to stamp out bad-h-behavior.
This felt like an x-rated young adult book rather than an MC book. The MFC behaved really childishly and had such a grudge that she got over ridiculously quickly. The incident near the end seems to come out of nowhere, no real buildup. And it was all just a bit too cutesy, easy for me. The writing is good, this one just wasn't for me.
This installation was bittersweet for me. For now it's the last unless there's another somewhere in the ether that hasn't made itself known yet.
Thia installation also let us see the progression of earlier characters. I don't recall seeing a book on Crow but that might be a prequel for another day. It would be nice to know how he became president and how he met his old lady.
It would also be good to find out what happened to cause Madison to end up in the predicament of being in her situation and how she turned out as an adult. It was hinted at her making bad choices as a teen but I would have liked to seen that explored as a result of her victimization by bad parents.
The build-up of the drama incidents could have been a little more lengthy but they were unexpected.
Definitely will be looking forward to more books from this author.
I normally love Piper Davenport books and have read nearly all of them but this one was just not that good for me. I like the idea of friends to lovers and second chance romance but for Flash and Tate it didn't work for me. For one, I immediately didn't like all the hatred Tate was spewing towards that one girl in the beginning, it rubbed me the wrong way and then it just continued throughout the book. The whole misunderstanding they had would have been solved with simple communication. There was a couple scenes that were almost the exact same as ones from previous books in the series. Then the villain of the story at the end, why did he do what he did? We didn't really get a decent explanation for that.
I absolutely loved this latest book in the Dogs of Fire series! Tate and Flash have been the best of friends growing up until Tate started feeling more than friendship. A misunderstanding has Tate leaving and shutting Flash out of her life. Now she is back and Flash isn’t allowing Tate to push him out of his life again. The more time they spend…they begin to develop feelings for each other…more than friends. A delicious, riveting, slow burn that had me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. I loved every second of their story and I highly recommend it to all. I can’t wait for the next book in this amazing series. Well done!!
Oh, Tate & Flash!! We've watched Flash (aka Parker) grow up thru this series. It was great to have some page time with Hatch & Maisie (the OG Dogs couple, ya know?!)!!
I love the family time & seeing how communication issues played a part in Flash & Tate's story. Yes, I wanted to smack both of them a bit in the beginning, but they found their way fairly quickly, story-wise, so I was good. 😉
Their story is sweet & spicy (🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥), with some added twisties that play really well into the story!! AND a couple cameos that made me laugh quite a bit!!
LOVED this story! Tate and Flash have know each other since they were kids. Best friends as kids who would “swear at god” when making a promise. (How cute is that?!)
A misunderstanding on one side and the friendship is on the rocks. I love that Flash is so dead set making things right. And things just explode from there. But then Flash is the son of Hatch, so that makes sense.
Lots of entertaining moments, like Tate going fan-girl. And their nicknames for each other. I just really enjoyed the whole flow of this book. Piper Davenport remains one of my absolute favorite authors.
Dogs of Fire book 12. Fanfreakingtasic. This is Flash and Tate story. They grew up together and in true adolescent angst missed plenty of opportunity to recognize real love. As they become adults and drifted apart due to some messy situations. They end up bumping into one another and let's just say the cray cray begins. This book has it all. It's twisty, angsty, dramatic, funny, heartfelt and passionate. Flash is Hatch son all grown up. I absolutely adore this book. And any book is more awesome with Hatch in it.
I just love getting to touch base with the Dogs of Fire crew! Now that we are into the next generation it's fun to see how our favorites had faired over time! Getting to read about Flash grown up, having a front row seat for his and Tate's relationship, and knowing that Hatch and Maisie have taught that kids right when it comes to how to treat his lady... melts the heart!
Tate and Flash were best friends growing up. Then a misunderstanding had them not speaking to each other for a long time. Tate is back in town. Flash wants her back in his life. Can they clear up the misunderstanding? Can they get their relationship back and maybe make it more. Can the make it out of a couple lie threatening incidents? Come on in for a ride. Be ready for a emotional roller coaster?
I love love piper”s books the story of Tate and Parker (Flash) I have been waiting for their love story and it was amazing she never disappoints you get suspense emontinal love rollercoaster and the loving family the whole dogs of fire give every story is like your favorite song on replay you can’t get enough and can’t wait for the next book love love her stories it’s a must read ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
This is what I come to expect with any Piper book. It was so incredible. I couldn’t stop reading. I had it finish it. We have watched Flash and Tate grow up throughout the series. This book is about their story. It was so good seeing the other Dogs in this book. I still love Hatch and Maisie!! This book has it all… romance, some suspense and laughter. I highly recommend it.
Flash and Tate are best friends. They have been through everything except one night it all turned upside down. Tate came back home and was avoiding seeing a certain person. Flash has a lot going on but once he finds out Tate is home he is full steam ahead. One day everything clicked and there was no turning back.
Epically amazing. From child hood friends, to young love crush, to heart break and 2nd chances. This has got to be my favorite story so far of the next generation of Dogs of Fire. Tate and Flash are absolutely great characters. How Piper does it will be a mystery to me but never fails in delivering an outstanding tale. Dig deep and find that special someone, in a fantastic HEA stand alone.
Parker Wallace aka Flash is all grown up and is most definitely Hatch’s son. I couldn’t wait to see him and Tate, all grown up and finally getting their own book. These two were amazing together. Once I started this I couldn’t put it down. It had all the feels and everything you love in a Dogs of Fire story. I love this family! This is a must read.
Tate ghosted Flash after a misunderstanding that hurt her, finally finding out what had upset his best friend he confronts her and they rekindle their relationship to another level.
I love the way this author writes her stories, they are always riveting and fun to read with a bit of action and lots of romance.
Amazing! The Dogs Of Fire series from the beginning has made you feel like you are part of the family. Now to continue with the kids makes it even better! Piper Davenport is amazing and continues to bring the feels to every book. Now to start at the beginning and read them all over to enjoy them again!!!
I love reading about the DOF kids all grown up and any mention of Hatch & Maisie is a plus in my book! Flash was a really likeable character and I thought Tate was sweet, if a little needy at times. I enjoyed the small flashbacks to their childhood and the element of danger I’ve come to expect from a Piper MC story thrown in.
An excellent read. I absolutely loved Flash and Tate’s story ❤️❤️❤️ They are like a mini power couple. A definite page turner and a very entertaining read that keeps you intrigued and motivated to keep the pages flipping. 100% recommend this book to everyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. You will not be disappointed 😎
This is a really sweet read. Flash doesn't know why Tate stopped talking to him after graduation but now that she is back home he plans to find out and keep.her forever.
After reading all the original adult MC Club members stories and getting introduced to their kids it’s awesome to read the kids stories now that they are grown up. Flash and Tate’s book did NOT disappoint!
of course it was awesome-sauce, it's a Dogs of Fire book!! i liked the fifty shades references. And especially that he has a helicopter They were such an awesome couple. HEA No Cheating Friends to Lovers MC romance
A series I can never get tired off! Family, friendship, brotherhood, sisterhood & incredibly sweet love all intertwined to make you smile! There is blazing heat & suspense to keep you hooked. Love it!
Not the typical MC book. Still bad boys but more of the romance kind. I loved how close and protective the characters were. Nice feel good read. Nicely well written too. Just also think too young for the word "Honey" . I really hate people to call me that as well.
Flash & Tate Best friends since grade school, A misunderstanding upsets Tate who runs from Flash, He misses his best friend and when he finds out that she has returned home, He sets out to find out what is going on. THIS has to be my favorite book in this series, really loved their story.
I love a good second chance romance! Flash and Tate are so good together! I'm really happy they found their way back to each other! Just when you thought this story might have been getting a little complacent, boom! There was one neck of a twist! Great book, I love the Dogs of Fire!
They were inseparable growing up, but one assumption led to years of being apart. Now she is back and he plans to right the wrongs of the past. Definitely recommend this book, author and series.
The Dogs of Fire and all of its spin-offs have become a favorite series of mine. Unlike many of the MC series; Piper Davenport's members have class. They are hard working within and outside of the club. They are family men and their families are just as much fun to read about.
I have followed Flash since he was born. He is now in his 20's, flying helicopters. (My word, where did the years go?) I do enjoy that he is a little clueless about love. Tate, his best friend has been ghosting him for years. He is clueless about it as well. Watching him have that V-8 moment was a great laugh. Him being the last to know was the best.
What is great about this read is what I didn't see coming. Thankfully, Tate and Flash didn't see some of it either. Mouth dropping moments are the best. Get ready to deal with a lot of emotions. Get ready to second guess yourself. If you like cute moments get ready to grin bright.
Road to Tomorrow was an entertaining romance. Road to Tomorrow was a wonderful family reunion for me, catching up with many of the characters from past books. Road to Tomorrow gave me super swoony moments, nail biting suspenseful times, periods of shock and awe and a happily ever after that will having me smiling for days.
