Chain Reaction is book twelve in the DI Mike Nash series by Bill Kitson. DI Mike Nash and his team became involved with several strange crime cases. In a derelict hotel grounds, workers found two severed fingers. When a young woman goes missing, the team realizes that this is not an isolated case. DI Mike Nash started to think about all these incidents. The readers of Chain Reaction will continue to follow DI Mike Nash and his team to discover what happens.
Chain Reaction is a fantastic addition to this excellent series by Bill Kitson. I love this series, and with every book I read, I always feel sad after I finish. Bill Kitson does a fantastic job of ensuring I engage with the plot of this book. I love Bill Kitson's portrayal of his characters and how they interact throughout this book. Chain Reaction is well-written and researched by Bill Kitson. I like Bill Kitson's description. of the settings of Chain Reaction, which allowed me to imagine being part of the book's plot.
The readers of Chain Reaction will learn the meaning of antagonistic. Also, the readers of Chain Reaction will understand the consequences of neglect on a child.
Another superb novel from Mr Kitson. Absolutely fantastic, albeit a little gruesome! Another book read in a little over 24 hours. I just found it very difficult to put it down. A brilliant storyline, with twists, turns and you name it along the way. Definitely worthy of five stars. Make sure you read it!
Well I've now read the whole series of 12. I can only hope and pray that there will be more on the horizon. I started off with the first book not totally captivated. Having bought the first five books as a box set I thought that I would continue with the rest. Book two was the one to grab me and the rest have followed suit. Bill Kitson , you are a true storyteller with a penchant for both laughter and drama. I'm really sorry now that I decided to read all the books consecutively as I have no more to read. Thank you Bill Kitson for these characters and storylines.
Another intriguing novel in the Mike Nash series begins with the discovery of two severed fingers in a hotel. As the team start their investigation, a spate of muggings demands their attention. Then the team is put under further pressure when several local women are declared missing.
Then two youngsters, using a holiday cottage to get to know each other better, make a gruesome discovery and the pressure ratchets up a few more notches. A brutal serial killer is operating in the area and time may be running out for a fifth missing woman.
Nash also has some personal troubles to contend with, leaving him feeling lonely and depressed. Until he makes a breakthrough in the investigation and it’s all go for a dramatic climax.
While previous novels have been more focused on a single criminal, this one highlights how CID often deal with several investigations at once. The backstory issues also take greater prominence and provide more interest, thanks to the author’s skill in making me care for the characters he’s created.
It all adds up to another memorable novel in this excellent series.
This was far from my favourite book in this series. I have always enjoyed the humorous side from these detectives but as this book was sadly lacking, it fell flat. I do get the reasoning why the author wrote this way. With Mike and his philandering ways in former books I was a total fan but unfortunate!y with a serious Mike and rather gruesome storyline I was disappointed. The author does a great job though to integrate so many interesting characters. I liked the inclusion of Lisa in this book. Along with Clara she is a likeable character and clearly loves to deride Mike for his love of the fairer sex.
I have finished reading all 12 books featuring Mike Nash in about 3 weeks. It was definitely the best way to read them. The variation in themes and crimes is unbelievable. Every story is so different. I love the main characters and the way they interlink. Some, in fact most, of the storylines contain some explicit details but it adds to the story, and in part is necessary and true. I do hope there will be more of Mike, Clara and Viv. Thank you Bill for keeping me entertained during a difficult time for us all.
This is the first book that I have read by this author. I am an avid reader and follow a number of authors. I have seen adverts for books by this author and decided to give him a try. This has caused a problem albeit a nice one in that I am going to have to obtain and read the previous ones in the series. If they are even half as good as this one then I'm in for an enjoyable time.
Terrific series with outstanding main characters is a delight to read! Police procedural involving following clues, dogged hard work pursuing them, and perseverance to solve the problem make them realistic. This one is particularly difficult as there are 2 separate cases-------robbery with injuries and multiple murders, with dismemberment of the bodies.
Having read this entire series I would venture to say Chain Reaction is one of my favorites. Love the characters Kitson has created and always look forward to the next book. The dialogue is realistic and the occasional banter and dark humor add to a good British police procedural.
I have absolutely loved this series and it just gets better. Great stories, great characters and great police work. This book has a few different crimes going on which makes it more realistic and it all comes together with a brilliant ending crime wise and personal. Can't wait for the next one.
This is one of the best books in this series and makes this also one of the best series I have read thus far!!! These books in this series can be read individually or in the whole set. I recommend that reading it from start to finish gives you a better understanding of all of the characters in the series.
Once again I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It's highly addictive with all the twists and turns the story takes. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys reading a really good mystery.
I have now read every one of theses books and love them . Great detective mysteries well written with interesting characters that really grow on you.can't wait for the next one
Excellent addition to the Nash series, really enjoyed the crime stories and the characters personal stories are evolving nicely. Will definitely be looking forward to the next in this well written and interesting series.
This is one of the best out of many mysteries I have read! Once I started it was really difficult to put down. Even though I had guessed the outcome. I still enjoyed it emencely. Happy reading!
Just finished book 12 of the Detective Nash series and wish there were more. Each book kept me guessing with well thought out story lines. Excellent writing and intriguing crimes.
Another fantastic Nash adventure! The interaction between the characters as always was excellent. The plot kept me guessing right up to the surprise ending!
Great book lots of action and suspense. Bill Kitson knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat! Once I started reading this book I didn’t want to put it down! A must read.
I had a lot of work to do this afternoon. It will be done tomorrow!
Several situations evolving around each other. Just when you think one is complete, it leads on to another. Very well written and can't wait to read another in the series.
I was completely engrossed in Bill Kitson 's books he's written, when I start one of his books i can't put it down, his depiction of the hero and his trusty college 's are so well written thank you for entertaining me.
Loving this series. Violent, sordid tale of violent, sordid deaths and also unrelated muggings. However, a long overdue happy ending for the beleaguered British detective.
