God the Evangelist: Partnering with God in making disciples: Application and commentary on research into the reasons Thai Theravada Buddhists became Christian
Dr. Hilderbrand wrote this book to make the results of his research available to a wider audience, pastors, students, and ordinary Christians wanting to effectively disciple people into a relationship with Christ. Dr. Hilderbrand researched the reasons why Buddhists in Thailand decided to follow Christ. His comments on the findings are also based on his many decades of experience as a pastor and church planter in Honolulu, Hawaii, and Thailand. If you are not a Thai Christian or a missionary, you may rightly ask, “Why should I read this book?” The The western world has become a mission field. Fewer people in the West have a Biblical worldview. The native born and the immigrant in the West have little biblical knowledge or background. Therefore, many of the lessons learned from this research and the author’s experience in Thailand are applicable to the situation in the West. The author tells us, “It is God who causes the vine to grow and produces the fruit. Our responsibility is to cooperate with our Lord in his purpose; to partner with Him in the evangelism of the lost; and the discipleship of the willing.”
