When it comes to losing her virginity, seventeen-year-old Alex has every intention of waiting for "the one." Problem is, she's attracted to trouble. After a traumatic breakup leaves her emotionally scarred and therapy pushes her past her breaking point, Alex departs from her New Jersey hometown to stay with her cousin, Caleigh, in L.A. hoping to distance herself from boy trouble for the summer.

Enter, Elias King, seventeen-year-old whirlwind with a reputation for tearing through girls and leaving a string of broken hearts behind. Still reeling from a tragic accident that resulted in the death of his girlfriend, Elias relies on drugs, alcohol, and sex to drown his pain.

When Elias's addictions nearly leave him homeless, his brother offers him a place to stay at his girlfriend Caleigh's house, complete with a new roommate tailor-made to clean up his act. Once Alex and Elias find themselves sharing a space in Caleigh's tiny guest room, their night-and-day personality differences set them on the warpath.

Though the two try to deny their intense sexual attraction, a simple bet changes the game. Alex wagers she can keep him sober and one-night-stand free for the rest of the summer, while Elias bets he can steal her heart and seduce her in less than thirty days.

But if Elias loses, he has to spill the dark secret surrounding the death of his ex. If Alex fails, she has to reveal her virgin status to Elias. But she can't just tell him, she'll have to show him.

Okay, I'll be honest. At first, I did judge this book by its cover (and its title) and thought I knew exactly what I was getting. Not that either the title nor the cover are bad, quite the contrary, in fact. They're both very appealing. But I did assume that "Cheater. Faker. Troublemaker." was yet another typical Bad Boy, YA story, the same sort we've all read at least 1000 times before. WELL, BOY WAS I WRONG!

At its heart, CFTM is the story of two very broken people, grappling with how to help each other put the pieces back together again. These characters are dancing around ghosts, running recklessly across a minefield, and it's so fascinating to witness them maneuver, or fail to maneuver, around the many obstacles in their path. I think what struck me the most about CFTM was that it sits very comfortably in the space between Literary Fiction and YA Lit, bringing together the best of both worlds. While the story is relatable and accessible as YA fiction, I was absolutely blown away by the lyrical, almost poetic writing the author often used, even to describe the tiniest of things, like: "She was his bubblegum girl, only fun until she lost her flavor." or "Straight vodka tasted like salvation. Like a liquid pill for the kind of pain I didn't know how to fix." And the journal entries / poetic interludes...brilliant!

There were also times when I literally laughed out loud and I'm a super-cynical reader so that's a hard thing to get me to do. I'm so impressed with Ms. Rosen because what she's doing here is not just conveying a simple story, but taking you on a journey, and with two characters you actually care about. And boy, what a journey it is!

Cheater. Faker. Troublemaker. is well worth the time invested. It's such a breath of fresh air and definitely a must-listen/read, IMHO. I can't recommend it highly enough, especially to those who are tired of the same-old, same-old when it comes to Romance or YA Lit.

OK, so, I simultaneously read this book on Wattpad and listened to the audio book version... Here's what happened: the audio ended with a sad cliffhanger that I also really loved. I went to start the sequel Find Her, Keep Her. As I was reading it I wondered if I had the right book because nothing made sense. I contacted the author with questions (she is super nice!) where she informed me that many more chapters were added. Enough chapters that practically equaled the length of another entire book!

The original book ended perfectly for me. I DID like the addition of That is a great book. I felt it wasn't necessary to I enjoyed parts of these scenes but I didn't think they were needed.

However, this is just my feelings. I think many will still love the entire thing. Don't misunderstand either... I loved Jersey and Elias' story and will continue with their sequel. Jenny Rosen is a great writer and you should definitely read her story!

Cheater.
Faker.
Troublemaker.

Three words that speak of heartbreak. Three worlds that speak of challenging pasts. Three words that speak of a hell of a confusing love.

***
Two broken characters. An amazing author. One book that is life-changing. What else can a reader want?

You don't just read CFTM. You LIVE it.

When I read the title, I'd thought it would be one of those clichéd Wattpad "good girl & bad boy fall in love and someone cheats" stories. But this book, *raises eyebrows*, a cliché? No way in hell.

***

Alex Summers. Jersey girl in California. Single, but she's that broken Pringle that's at the bottom of the can. A broken wrist that speaks of a past that she's running from.

Enter the King, Elias. Mr Virginity-Stealer-in-Thirty-Days. Scars that people's eyes glance over and a past that should make him the guy to run from.

Keep 'em together for a summer and what do you get?

An enrapturing story, full of twists and turns, empty bottles and backseats, impromptu tattoos and a ringless marriage.

And of course, a reader that's hooked on from the first paragraph, and falls in love with a ship that has too many holes to stay afloat, but does because of a miracle.

***
This is a book meant to be read, and reread. Meant to be lived and relived. Meant to be loved and reloved.

'Cause when you find a book like this, you keep it, right?

This book is a rollercoaster ride of emotions! At first, you aren't sure who to ship, who's going to love who, what's going to happen, and that's definitely an amazing trait for me! At the same time, it has this emotional appeal where you get attached to the characters and you cannot help but love them immensely! It has true aspects, and it truly shows how everyone has their own story. The brightest smiles are the ones who's had the darkest of days, and all that jazz. Overall, this book is simply amazing! Not only does it tug at your heartstrings, but its real. It makes you relate with the story, it really impacts you. Its simply breathtaking the way that Jenny writes, and I really do believe she deserves all the love for this book alone! Its been a gorgeous journey with this book and I loved every single moment of it. From the humor, to the tears, to the kisses shared, its a blessing to have been able to read it! All the love -A fellow Wattpad author, Rebecca :)

5 star AMAZING!

I accidentally stumbled across Jenny Rosen audiobook and god I’m so glad I did! Miss Rosen knows exactly what to write to suck you in and keep you wanting more.

After reading the blurb I knew that I NEEDED to read this BOOK, I noticed that there was no e-book available for any of her books? 🤨 I ended up finding them on Wattpad, which I’ve never used before.
Anyhow, I read the books on Wattpad just so I could follow along with my audiobook and Wow was I blown away with not only the books, but the narrators. Christine Lakin and Aaron Landon did amazing job bring this incredible story to life! I can seriously say that their voices are exactly how I would picture Elias and Alex sounding. The only problem I had tho was that the e-books on Wattpad were some what different from the audiobooks, that at times it was hard to follow along. Other then that I can’t say one bad thing about this story.

So let’s start with the 1st book……Cheater, Faker, Troublemaker. I absolutely fell in love with this book right from the beginning. My God is Jenny Rosen truly an amazing writer!! Elias and Alex story was remarkable and so beautifully written. I fell in love with both characters right away. Jenny certainly makes you feel Elias and Alex connects/chemistry throughout the story.
Elias and Alex aka Jersey story starts with them meeting at the airport and let’s just say it didn’t go so well. They instantly hated each other and that is the beginning of there beautiful story...….

Jenny Rosen takes you on a intense roller coaster journey with two kids experiencing love, heartache, tragedy and having to make life changing decisions. ALL 3 BOOKS HAVE TRIGGER WARNINGS..

2nd book….Love her, Leave her was absolutely wonderful too and I fell even more in love with the characters, if that’s even possible!

Elias has a lot of demons he’s dealing with, that he can no longer ignore and needs medical help and Alex fines herself lost and heartbroken and feels abandoned. I will say this much this book was more emotional so have your tissue box handy.

That being said, book 3….Find her, Keep her, was by far the most emotional book I EVER read…I didn’t think I could cry that hard…Angst to the fullest!

I can’t say this enough......These books are beyond beautiful and they really hit real life situations. 💞💞💞

Audiobook listeners….The 3rd book Jenny Rosen did not have Hachette make a audiobook, but instead Jenny and her cowriter Kristen made YouTube videos to listen to. They sound like they enjoyed making these videos, but I have to say I was a little bit disappointed not because they were horrible, but for a couple reasons, one the music in the background was very distracting while I read the book, but mostly because I really got attached to Christine and Aaron’s voices in books 1-2 that I would have loved to continue the third book with the same narrators. Hopefully and fingers crossed that one day Hachette will decided to make the 3rd audiobook for this beautiful story.

Okay, so, if I'm being completely honest, at first I was slightly put off by the title -- it sounded pretty cliche and just a repeat of most Wattpad books.
A classic example of why you should never judge a book by its cover - or title, for that matter.

I'm proud to say I cried at this book. Honestly. It gives so much depth to the two main characters - one's I'd usually just label as bitchy or cocky - I could now actually understand, and see where they were coming from. How they became to be. It made me cry and laugh within a paragraph, made me grin like an idiot and also want to throw my phone across the room. (more specifically, Rory made me want to throw my phone across the room). The variation of chapters was also something I liked - their different perspectives, sometimes just normal chapters, sometimes letters, sometimes dreams, sometimes diary entries, sometimes emails - it made it all the more intriguing to get into.

One of the things I love most, also, is how realistic it is - contrary to my first impression, there were no boring cliches at all. And no male love interest being a pure virgin waiting for the right girl (as nice as it sounds, it's unrealistic as heck) - no, Elias King is poetic, romantic and horny all at once. Actual man goals.

I also like the fact that they don't fall in love straight away - the whole love at first sight thing, and we can actually go through the process with them, fully understand how their feelings grew, learning all the reasons why they liked each other, slowly, - the two perspectives definitely helped with that. Neither of them change who they are majorly for each other, they just fit together like two puzzle pieces. They both have broken pasts, but they're still fixable. And the fact that its not just generic parent problems - it's much deeper and makes for more heartache on the readers side. (Lacey and Alex deserved better). And not only that, but we can even see the psychological effects on characters - Alex's past with Rory making her hit Elias a lot, for example - its obvious there was a lot of research done / knowledge owned here.

Okay, writing this has made me remember Elias' long, romantic chapters. I am now going to cry. But honestly, this is such a good book and I recommend the hell out of it - I'm getting it as soon as it gets published in paper form (which I know for a fact it definitely will). I don't care who I have to beg.

Thank you.

Five stars is no where nears high enough for me to rate this book! Words cannot explain just how much this book means to me. I tumbled across this book on Watt pad back in summer 2015 and put it in my library, but I didn't read it right away because I didn't think it sounded interesting. Three rereads later and I stand completely corrected. The first chapter had me completely hooked and I could not put this book down! The way the author(s) wrote this story is so beautiful and like nothing I have ever read before, many times I had gotten goosebumps while reading this and more than enough times was I brought to tears by certain chapters. The characters in this story (especially the main) are so unbelievably relatable its not even funny, I was so surprised by that since I had never read a book before where I had just clicked with the main character. The romance, the dark pasts, the character development, every single thing about this book is absolutely perfect! I want to thank the author for writing something so beautiful, when I first read this book I was going through a rough patch, and I honestly think this book saved me. This book completely changed the way I view love, and I am still so astonished that a book could have this much of an impact on my life. This book isn't some sappy love story, it is completely realistic, which I think is amazing for young girls to read (I was 16 when I first read). Every character in this book has such a special place in my heart, and i still, to this day, go back and read parts from it. This book is not hard to follow at all, it is so easy to understand and it's kinda hard not to follow it since you get completely absorbed in it. This is my favorite book of all time, and I sincerely hope it gets published one day so I can hold it in my hands, cause I can assure I'll be one of the first to buy! If you're on the fence about whether or no to read this book like I was, then all I have to say is JUST READ IT!!! I promise you will be completely hooked and will love it just as much as I did! Hugely recommend!

It's a good book. (one of my favorites on wattpad)
It will take awhile to read it, but I think it's worth it.
The book takes you along the journey of the main characters' falling in love while they struggle to figure out life and face their demons.
I fell in love with this book and its characters.
The journey this book takes you on is awesome. I love it because it can make me feel something while I'm reading. You can easily identify with one of the characters or more as they develop throughout the book.
I got to admit that I have a soft spot for romance when it comes to books.
Most of the time I find it pretty difficult to find a great book on Wattpad that would satisfy my taste, be well written, have complex character and somehow capture my interest without feeling too cliche.
I appreciate this book because it's not boring and it's well written. The author worked hard and managed to make the characters resemble real people. It surprised me that she thought about how deeply the consequences of their past must have affected them and how she managed to show that through their actions.
Now, I might be looking too much into certain things and might not be entirely right, of course, but it impressed me and this is my opinion.
There is more to this book than meets the eye. It's not just a bad boy meets the reserved girl type of book; it treats serious issues too.
I think this deserves a chance and you should give it a try. You might end up liking it more than you thought.

Cheater. Faker. Troublemaker. is such an amazing book. It is absolutely without a doubt one of my all-time favorite books in any category. It's brilliantly written and so original I couldn't stop reading when I first started. You know a book is great when it pulls you into the story and makes you feel like you're right there witnessing the emotions and the conflict between characters firsthand. Alex and Elias are such a dynamic duo. They're so different than any other characters I've read about in any other book, and there's so much to the both of them it's beautiful to read. You think you know everything about the both of them and you're so quick to judge but they have so many layers to their personalities and what makes them who they are when they meet that it makes you truly fall in love with the both of them. They are both broken when they meet, yet they seem the opposite to each other. They discover each other at the same pace that the reader is discovering them and it's one of the things that make the readers so attached to these characters.

I am definitely attached to the both of them. I feel like their story is such a beautiful one, and my heart hurts a little every time I think of them. Thank you to the author for writing such a captivating story.

This is a book which you totally have to experience on your own. Warning it may cause you soooo much emotions like a roller coaster ride but it doesn't scare you, it excites you to move forward.

Yeah, so I try to give some kind of review because I have read this book a long time ago. Also, pardon my grammar, my English isn't so fantastic.

What I love about CFTM
*Alex Summers - Her strong personality is just perfect
* Elias King - He is so interesting character and so lovely XD
* Also other characters as well how good they are done etc.
* raw topics - they just give you so many tears in your eyes and make you think about life
* plot - after all it's genius and wonderful so thank you Jenny for making this masterpiece
* its author - Jenny just inspires me to try writing on my own though that process will be long and painful

What I don't love about CFTM
* ..........................NOTHING (How I cannot love everything about this book)
hmm or except these moments when my mom walks in and sees me crying with my phone on my hand.. Awk-ward!

So I hope my review was useful (or is it just too much rambling..) and please read this <3

This book is amazing! The storyline is perfect, the characters I can relate to, and there's just so much details. I've read this on Wattpad and I was hooked when I read the first chapter! I stumbled upon this story because of the Watty's 2016 and I loved how amazing it was. It wasn't like any other story I've read. Granted, I usually read fan fictions most of the time, but when I found this book it was my first step into finding out that I enjoyed teen fiction a lot more. It was also what made me into writing my own stories. Unlike other stories, the heroine isn't a stereotypical pretty girl, or a nerd that changes over time. It's a girl who has problems like the rest of us readers. It's even more amazing to me how it doesn't have much of a happy ending like what we're used to. We expect that after falling in love and for our lives to be happily ever after. But this book shows us the reality and says, "Life can't always go your way". Both the male and female protagonists have their problems and its what makes them drift apart. I really recommend this book and I'm loving the sequel that Jenny is currently writing. So check it out!

Okay... So I joined goodreads just to enter a review for one of my all time favorite books....which is this one. I read this book on wattpad for the first around 5-6 months ago, and I must say, this is quite the masterpiece. And I am not exaggerating. It's one of those books that are definitive page-turners and definitely shook me. The plot is beautiful and ... I think the best part of CFTM is that the characters are so flawed, so broken, that, You. Just. Fall. For. Them.. Hard. Truth be told, I did think it would be a typical bad boy cliche (Seriously, judged it by its cover back then) but gave it a try and really, I could not have been more wrong. CFTM has a way of pulling you into its core, of making you feel what the characters feel, and that, I believe, is what is truly beautiful. Also, Ms. Rosen has quite a delightful method of narration that makes you cling to the book.....It would have been an incredibly stupid decision if I hadn't read this beauty of a book.... All in all, Cheater. Faker. Troublemaker. is one of the best decisions I, personally, have made in reading....

Cheater. Faker. Troublemaker. starts as a fun, girl meets player story. But the deeper you get the more you realise that this isn't just a love story, it's dark in places and it hits into the aspects of life you don't always hear about. Alex is a fun character, she's smart but obviously broken, yet her sassiness makes her hilarious. Elias is a loveable guy, dark and twisted but innocent at the same time. Together they're just two kids who've been thrust into adulthood through terrible experiences.

The story starts with Alex moving to LA to stay with her cousin as she tries to get through the aftermath of a terrible relationship. There she meets Elias, the 'man slut' brother of her cousins boyfriend, who is tasked with collecting her from the airport. While at first it may seem like a typical love/hate story, CFTM definitely goes deeper and more intense as both Alex and Elias find that they both have secrets and not everything is a game.

I absolutely fell head over heels for this book by the first chapter. I think it is a genuinely genius idea for a novel. I loved how the character talks to you like a journal where they feel comfortable to share what is going on in life. To me personally, this is one of my favorite reads and leaves me wanting more with every chapter. I dont know a book that can actually make you laugh, cry, smile, get knots in your stomach, and want to fall in love with unrealistic people all at the same time. From the beliefs of Holden from the 'Catcher in the Rye', Jenny Rosen is the kind of writer that everyone wishs they could just call up and talk to for hours because of her incredible ideas and wording that she provides and has a way of always touching her readers and leaving them hanging on the edge. I absolutely loved this book and I am so excited to see what Jenny Rosen does next!!! :)

There's really no words to describe the book and it's author. The book is an amazing read, that I sadly admit had me crying for most of the chapters. Each chapter left you with a deep message, making you think about personal problems going in your own lives. The author with her words pulls her readers into the story til the point were you feel the character's pain, happiness, and misery. Elias and Alex are two hilarious character, who are just trying to survive life. The author is a sweet person who really cares about her readers, and from what I can tell, invests herself into her books. I was hesitant at first to read it thinking it would be another cliche book. Thankfully, it wasn't.

I gave the book a chance, and if your reading this I hope you do too.

I read "Cheater. Faker. Troublemaker." because it won Wattys 2016 and it seemed AMAZING so I read it. It was the BEST decision in my life! CFTM is amazing book, it shows that everybody has problems and insecurities. And the way a it was written was so different and it's good different. Things that people don't talk about and don't know about was described so good and it felt like the Author went through it herself (I hope this isn't the case). I, myself read a lot and a lot of books have bad boys in it, this book had them in it too, but it was COMPLETELY next level.
I can't count how many times I have cried, laughed, fangirled (Is that even a word?), been so mad and angry, fallen in love, it has been CRAZY journey.
It's amazing book and everybody should give it a chance.

When I clicked on Cheater. Faker. Troublemaker, making the decision to read it I was not expecting it to be so entirely "out of this world" amazing! From the moment it began I was hooked on reading every first and last word on the page. Although, my first thoughts consisted solely on this being yet another cliché love/hate relationship type book, it clued me in for a twisted surprise and completely changed my perspective on how I look and judge books. Definitely read this book. From the way the writing is unbelievably beautifully written, to the events, to the characters development, you will fall in love with this book while it takes you on an emotional roller coaster with surprises, twists, and will completely change the way you look at the world!

I read this book on wattpad. This book is mixed with thrill, and romance. It was so exciting to unravel the mix between thrill, and love, and anger that this book has to offer. I love this book so much that i have read it two more times again and it still gives me chills. I can honestly say it is the most well written and enticing book i have ever read. Now that it is an audio book, I will hear it a thousand times and get chills from the voices this time. Jenny Rosen's other books are also as exciting and beautifully detailed as well and I hope she reaches far and beyond her capabilities. Keep people guessing and unraveling mystery Jenny! You are one of my favorite writers thus far.

STORY
Having never read anything by Jenny Rosen, I had no idea what to expect when I chose this book. The fascinating synopsis and high rating piqued my interest so I gave this audiobook a chance and I am so glad I did! In just the first few minutes, I was pleasantly surprised by the quirky, comedic banter between the characters that had me laughing out loud. I was also impressed by the storyline which was far from boilerplate or predictable. The characters were entertaining, engaging and became, “people“ I cared for.

The are two negative things about this book. First, I would caution the author against publicizing this as, “young adult”. Yes, the main characters are underage and this book is certainly not erotica but there is a scene containing oral sex that might upset more conservative readers (I however am not conservative so I absolutely loved it). Second, I have a terrible memory so if I had known that this story ended with a cliffhanger, I would not have listened to it until the entire series was out. I don’t see a sequel on the horizon so I am very, very, very unhappy about that!

PERFORMANCE
I listened to the Hachette audiobook narrated by Christine Lakin and Aaron Landon. Wow!!!! I have listened to and written reviews about many fabulous narrators but these two really raised the bar for me! Landon and Lakin perfectly captured the roles they portrayed! Both provided 100% flawless performances that were believable and captivating. I truly cannot imagine better performances coming from anyone else and will actively seek out audiobooks by these phenomenal narrators!

I don't like bad boys.
And I dearly despise confused girls.

BUT this book changed everything for me. Didn't I love Elias and love Alex even more. In fact, I loved Alex's point of view way more than Elias — even though I love him.

Alex is hilarious, has issues which make me want to connect with her in every way, and is a very head strong person.

I see so much in her personality.

Elias screams trouble to Alex.
Alex screams trouble to Elias.
But no matter how hard they try to run away from each other, the universe brings them back and it all seems so natural.

The book brings up many topics which will make you think.
There's Anti Bullying message.
There's Anti Slut Shaming message.
There's Anti Judging-people message.

I'll say it is the kind of book our society ( especially our youth ) needs to understand issues which people don't want to address openly.

Jenny Rosen has her way with words. Her writing will tuck some chords in your heart. The book is a heart wrecking beautiful work of art. And I recommend it HIGHLY. ( Honestly, can't recommend it enough )

I always have a difficult time reviewing Wattpad books here on Goodreads.

I'm an absolute SUCKER for cheesy Wattpad novels with badboys. Hell, I even wrote a cheesy Wattpad novel with a badboy.

This book's rating is based on how it is (in my opinion) as book as a whole. I'm pushing my inner giddy sucker self down and giving this a rating based on the numerous factors that it takes to really write a book.

Writing wise, it was pretty casual. Alex's voice is quirky, relatable, and normal. Character wise these guys developed pretty well. Sometimes I felt like for the bigger picture, nobody really fit any mold particularly well.

But for a Wattpad book, this is definitely a hidden gem.

P.S
I would totally love a spinoff with Caleigh and Tanner :D

Legit one of the best book to be read and an amazing audiobook. I loved this book and thee was a few parts where the you could get a bit confused but everything gets smoothened out I the end. The writing of this book was amazing and the audiobook was perfect. I loved the whole thing from the starting till the ending and I can't wait for the next part of it to come out. This book is hands down a book you have to read/listen. The characters are amazing and in time you'll love them like I did and I know this author will make it big.

The first thing that comes into your mind when you hear about a Wattpad novel is: cliche; the same old good girl bad boy romance. But "Cheater. Faker. Troublemaker." broke that misconception of mine.
It's not just another story. Its a journey. A journey of two broken, damaged soul's on their path of finding themselves in the reflection of the other.
The book is so well written that you can find yourself feeling Elias's pain ans Alex's insecurities. Each character is flawed and thats what makes them perfect.
I would recommend this book to any friend of mine in a heartbeat.

The plot and the characters of this book were really amazing. It was really nice to see how the characters changed with the book going forward. The relationship of the main characters, I think, is something very special, if you read/listen the book, you'll know why.

This book can make you laugh a lot at one moment, but also make you cry like a baby at another. At first it shows how two people deal with their past differently, but after some time it shows how they together fight with it.

Because of how much I loved it all in all, I rated it 5/5 stars.

Okay, honestly when I first saw the book I thought that it would be another cliché bad boy teen fiction book.

I was wrong.
And I am glad that I was wrong.

Cheater Faker Troublemaker goes so much more beyond the bad boy - good girl drama. The two protagonist relate and establish a relation with the reader so phenomenally that they become a part of our lives.

Jenny Rosen's way of writing is what gives this book a definite shape and separates it from the clique. Hands down to the her.

One of my best reads.
Cheater Faker Troublemaker is a must read.

This book is amazing. It's a rollercoaster ride of feelings so intense and heartbreaking and beautiful that stay with you long after you've finished reading it. As a hardcore bookworm and certified binge reader myself, I assure you very few other books gripped me this much and left me begging for more. And don't even get me started on the authors' style... Beautiful doesn't even begin to cover it. So yeah, I dug the book. And you all will too when you listen to it.

At first glance you think "oh this is probably one of those typical bad boy turns good for the right girl" type of bad boy novel...but it's not.
Cheater. Faker. Troublemaker. totally blew all my expectations out of the water. It wasn't cliche for starters, and it had this certain type of aura about it that made me stay up into the early hours of the morning for a week just to keep on reading.
I highly recommend this book...after all, we all need a little Elias King in our lives! :)
