Kayluth Drakkenstar is pregnant, and Vidar Brandt Drakkensun longs to return to his homeworld, to share his joy with his parents and extended family. What should be a happy homecoming for both him and his third mate, Vidar Manning Drakkenmoon, proves less than joyful when Manning’s father, the king, takes an instant dislike to the Drakken.

When Manning runs afoul of his father and eldest brother, Brandt and Kayluth find unlikely allies among family and mentors. As the children grow within their eggs, it soon becomes a race against time as humans and Drakken work together, searching near and far to bring Manning home before the drakeen children are born.

Then who should arrive to add a twist to their trials but another Drakken triad: Manning’s birth mother and her mates. The Triumvirate strives to prevail as Brandt, Manning, and Kayluth mend one bridge after another, all while tearing down the most important one of Volé’s history.

Drakken Sun is the second book in the Drakken Triumvirate Series and continues the story of Manning, Brandt, and Kayluth. This book contains MMM, fated mates, dragon shifters, mpreg, and the birth of their children. Book two completes the initial duet of stories. A third book, Drakken Star (Fall 2021) is currently being written but is not essential to this particular storyline.

Always an avid reader and colorful dreamer, it was only a matter of time before taking pen to paper, oftentimes literally. A firm believer in every song tells a story and every story has a song, I sing under my breath, tap my toes and swing my hips, much to the delight of my co-workers and friends. I freely admit that becoming a romance author is the best mid-life crisis a girl could ever have.

I find myself reeling from the wild names and all the action and plotting going on. This series will get some getting used to, probably as each book comes out and I have to figure it out all over again! The triumvirate is composed of Kayluth (Kayluth Drakkenstar), Manning (Vidar Manning Drakkenmoon) and Brandt (Vidar Brandt Drakkensun). The story continues on from Book 1 and, if you manage to get the names right, there is a made up language included that may confuse. But overall, once you keep going, the story begins to come together and is intriguing enough to keep the reader moving through it.

The interaction of the characters is also intriguing since not all are friendly and follow their own agendas. The focus is on the pregnancy and meet and greet of the families which doesn’t always go well. It’s not smooth sailing here, but I eventually started to figure out who doesn’t like whom. I hope I will be ready for the next book! It’s definitely one I’ll pick up in the morning next time and not late at night when I’m tired.

For complete enjoyment, please read book one, first.

This book is a continuation of the previous story,'Drakken Moon'. Kayluth discovers he is expecting twins. Both of his mates are more than thrilled to become fathers. Brandt and Manning are trying to make it back to their home world to see their families and introduce their mate.

What should have been an inviting reception was anything but warm and friendly. Turns out his father was worse than initially imagined. His older brother, Tore, turned out to be just as deceitful. Angry that his son and his mates are kings and are more powerful than he, the plot begins to destroy Manning before he has a chance to solidify power.

In the midst of all this turmoil, Kayluth has a scare. Brandt and Manning are attentive as ever. Family and allies come to their aid. Turns out the support system was needed. Manning's father put a plan into action that would separate him from his pregnant mate. When Kayluth shifted to his dragon form, he would remain that way until the eggs were born, nurtured and hatched. A race against the clock to find Manning.

Plot twist: Manning's mother returns with her mates and his younger brother.

Join the journey of Kayluth, Manning, and Brandt. Taking on Vole history, becoming new parents, fighting to protect their friends, allies, and family. Another interesting surprise - other characters ended up finding their mates.

The second book in the MMM series. I love how their stories intertwined without being overbearing or favoring one mate over another. Each MC knows what the other needs and satisfies those desires.

I loved Drakken Sun just as much as Drakken Moon. The book is fast-paced, and I loved watching Kayluth, Manning, and Brandt as they navigate their new relationship and finding out that Kayluth is pregnant with a baby from both Manning and Brandt. I loved how fast the pregnancy is and how Kayluth has to stay in his dragon form one month before laying the eggs to one month after they have hatched. It does make things a little bit more complicated when Manning gets kidnapped, and Kayluth and Brandt have to rely on the other Drakken to find him and bring him home hopefully before Kayluth lays his eggs. I loved the little twists and turns and how cute the kids are. There are still a couple of things that haven't been resolved, and I eagerly await the last book in the series to see how the author ties everything up.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book, brilliant follow on from Drakken Moon.
Following Kayluth, Manning and Brandt relationship grow, and the struggle Kayluth and Brandt had when Manning was kidnapped during Kayluth pregnancy.
Would recommend but needs to be read in order
Looking forward to Drakken Star

Potential to be amazing

The premise of this story and book one are amazing, but it there was way too much “telling” going on. It kept any tension from really building and gave the impression of skipping ahead a lot in the story. I kept checking back to see if I missed something. A good example was a fight in the book. It had the potential to be 4 or 5 chapters and really building the fear, but it was only covered as exposition over a page. This scene was an important point in the plot but felt thrown away. I think with practice the author will really be amazing, but this book and the 1st in the series still need some re-writing.

I enjoyed this second book about the Drakken Triumvirate. It's an exciting and intriguing MMM science fiction romance with fated mates, intrigue, family complexities, drama, a dragon-shifter pregnancy, and babies. There are new allies, an unwelcome homecoming, twists and turns, and the on-going three-way love between Brandt, Manning, and Kayluth. I look forward to the next book.

This second book in the Drakken triumvirate series is in my opinion even better than the first. There are kidnappings, egg laying, dragons flying and even a brief battle. Who gets kidnapped? How many eggs are there? Read and find out!

I like the thoughts the author have put in to this world, still so much is a mystery and I can only assume we will see more in the future.
As the first book it took a few pages before I was comfortably in the story again, it's the amount of names that throws me off at the start.
Manning, Brandt and Kay are sweet together, though I found myself missing some of their distinct personality traits from the first book, this one was first and foremost about the pregnancy with added plot around it.
It had sweet and funny moments with plenty of care.

I hope for more individuality and perhaps a bit of conflict as the three work to raise the kids together in the next book.

This one hurt. Poor Manning missed so much while he was being held captive. And they way he was treated. I cried. Brandt didn't know what to do. Trying to split himself in half between his two mates left him feeling all sorts of emotions and poor kayluth. He could do nothing but what his baby wished and instint demanded. But, the ending to this book is beautiful, and I am interested to see what the third story brings.

So ready for the third book!

I can't wait to read the third book. This one was a great follow up to book one and had lots of excitement.
