Face jugs are an acquired taste, as co-author and co-collector Karen Meyer points out. Once acquired, however, the fascination can run deep. This books mostly illustrates George and Karen Meyer's collection of mostly 19th century examples of this folk pottery genre. It's an incredible survey of an utterly distinctive artform.
