Getting naked is an entrepreneurial journey of the company called “Naked’. It’s about the misses, missteps, misunderstandings, mishaps, and misdirections that lead us exactly where we actually need to go.
The book is divided into three broad parts

𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝟐 teaches some of the basic principles that every entrepreneur should know.
𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝟑 talks about the deeper questions which every entrepreneur needs to ask himself at some point of his journey such as finding work and life balance, sorting out priorities, and letting go.
𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐮𝐬?
This book taps all the three dimensions of an entrepreneur
🧠 The mindset ⚒️ The necessary technical tools required 🧠 Answering the deeper questions
🔝 It teaches us to have a vision and the ability to look beyond our current situation to dream big and create vision.
🔝 To establish a company’s “Why” early on and stay loyal to it. Because sticking to your “why” will always yield great dividends in the long run.
👪 It puts emphasis on the fact that absorbing ourselves completely into our business for too long without caring for our well-being can make us lose sight of what’s truly important in life.

As a young entrepreneur on my journey of wanting to add value and help in the transformation of others, through books & mentors, I am constantly looking forward to reading entrepreneurship books: wether it is reading a biography, as the one of Elon Musk, or a much more technical book, like 'The Personal MBA'.
In this intriguing and full of wisdom book, Joel Primus wonderfully dives into the story of his past company (Naked Brand Group) and through it he shares powerful ideas, principles and lessons that apply for both entrepreneurship & life. One of the several reasons why reading this book was pivotal in my entrepreneurial journey, was because of the intelligent perspectives shared by Joel around topics such as Marketing, 'Taking a leap of faith', finding balance, building the right team, etc. Another reason for my perception of transformation from this book, was that it is a very insightful book which covers important topics around start-ups, giving wise advice constantly.
My key takeaways (which don't spoil the book at all) were: → Set a vision, and work on developing it → Prepare to take the leap of faith with your vision → Build the basis: The WHY, values, principles, goals, essentials, actions, etc. → Create products which have a PMF and build processes that will make the production of the products sustainable, also reducing mistakes. → Find life/work harmony → Know when & how to let go (lesson in which Joel dives in a whole chapter of the book)
I HIGHLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO READ THIS BOOK IF YOU ARE AN ENTREPRENEUR, OR AN ASPIRING ONE, AND WANT TO LEARN A WIDE, INSIGHTFUL PERSPECTIVE OF THE SUCCESS JOURNEY. TERRIFIC READ!!!

In his book he guides and gives an insight to young and upcoming entrepreneurs about rules that apply in becoming a successful businessman for instance giving a tag line to your product “why you call it Naked … because it doesn’t stay on!”, giving importance to consistency, complaints, customer reviews, market research, selection, feedback, analyse competitiveness, customer survey and vote. It’s further required to investigate the flaws, establish process and product development, learn from mistakes and establish focus groups. The focal point of any business lies in pre-sampling the product and then focus on its production based on meeting its minimum target.
He quotes “Your business is like your baby. You’ve likely spent more of your awake time on your business than anything else in your life.

It was such a pleasure reading an honest memoir-style book about entrepreneurship and startups. It's filled with stories and actionable takeaways that are both heartfelt, personal, and useful. These types of business books are the best type of business book you could wish for.
The title of this book is very very unique . The content of the story revolves all about business and entrepreneurship.
It gives a proper guidance to people who are both experienced and inexperienced in this field and also it makes you question alot of things in which you are involved.
I really enjoyed this book because it is written exactly the way this kind of book should be written. This book tells a story and it tells it well, and with the stories. There are the takeaways that just stay with you after the read.
Amazing book. I like that it covers the full spectrum from practical tips about entrepreneurship and running your business, and at the same time Joel makes it extremely personal by sharing his learnings and struggles.
This book is about the failures, misses, missteps, misunderstanding, mishaps and mis-directions that lead us exactly where we need to go. As I went deep into this book a lot was uncovered and discovered. Take a shot at this and feel differently.
This book is divided into three parts which talk about real experiences, rules and fundamentals that every businessman must know and the questions that one seems to try to understand for a startup not to fail; respectively. Beginning with how one should gain confidence in oneself to execute the idea of business, the author goes on to explain the dos and don'ts while establishing the business. Where to be careful and where to let your guard down. All the phases- from planning to executing - are discussed with enough clarity. This book is a manageable read because Joel (one of the authors) relates the rules to his own story of executing his business plan. This book gives straight to the point steps which will help anyone willing to start a start-up. The language is also quite understandable which is a plus point.
This book is inspirational to me because I can relate to it as my dad is a businessman and he talks about similar things now and then. What I like the most about the book, except the clarity with which it is written, is the references and quotes from other philosophers, economists and writers. They are short and show just what is apt. There's no beating around the bush in the content. It is a light, knowledgeable and interesting book especially because the author has taken us along his journey which shows the transparency of the facts he states.
How I also see this book is as a culmination of lessons one learns throughout life in one place. What rules and cautions apply to businesses are a light of one's nature and behaviour in everyday living.
