Sometimes two wrongs are the only way to make it right.
Power-couple Angela and Mitchell Point wanted to build a family. Instead, they got torn apart and pieced together separately. Without warning, their old and new lives collide in a Castaway meets Hope Floats tale of love lost and life recovered.
When every choice breaks a heart, doing the right thing is impossible.
Made entirely of rum and snacks—International Bestselling Author, Tracy A. Ball, is a native Baltimorean and veteran West Virginian, whose family is a mashup of cultures. She writes real and raw interracial romance with an intensity that burns because she has been busting stereotypes while teaching interracial/generational healing for more than a quarter of a century.
Tracy engages with folks from every twist of fate and all manner of experience. She has hung out with murderers and dined with people who have dined with the Pope, which is why she needs the rum…and a nap.
Tracy A. Ball is a master with a pen!! This story had me glued to my e-reader from the first sentence until the very last one! I found myself getting lost in the world that Mrs. Ball created. This story was so real and believable. I found myself invested in what happened to Angela and Mitchell.
Words cannot describe how much I enjoyed this story! The only thing that really made me sad was that it had to come to an end! I highly recommend this story to any one who needs an escape from the craziness of their life.
Tracy A. Ball is a masterful storyteller. I was immediately pulled into The Other Shore by its compelling characters. The action and drama was in full swing by Chapter 4. There is such a beauty to her words and the way they make a reader feel. She also adds so many intriguing layers to her stories. Everything combined really makes for an incredible reading experience throughout. In The Other Shore, the hits just kept coming and it was such an emotional roller coaster as I constantly went from one perspective to another. I loved how she constantly had me re-evaluating my thoughts and opinions. I would choose a side and then feel somewhat guilty when the next chapter had me considering another side of their predicament. It was just such a brilliantly written novel. If gave me all the feels from start to finish. And that Hilda had me laughing out loud with her antics, especially at the end. This book was an unforgettable reading adventure and I highly recommend it!
Every now and then, you come across a book you fear reviewing because you wonder - if, the words typed will properly explain how brilliant the storyline really is...The Other Shore is my book.
Without a doubt, I really enjoyed this story; it activated all my senses. I love, "love" and this hit the spot. Not to mention, the banter between the characters was priceless. There was just the right amount of drama and romance in every chapter to keep me up way past my bedtime. Really wasn't sure how it would all end, but I was definitely leaning in a particular direction.

The drama that unfolded in The Other Shoreby Tracy A. Ball reminded me of storylines that you’d see on a soap opera, and I loved it!
Yacht destroyed.
Crew members dead.
Lives in peril.
Passengers lost, presumed dead.
Miraculous rescues.
And then the real drama kicks in!
Five adults, multiple love triangles —forget daytime tv, I want more of Tracy’s written soap opera. It’s fantastic, and the cover was sensational as well.
Wonderful book. Undecided about if there really was a villain in this situation. Mitchell, Angela and Kiera were all assumed dead from drowning but were all alive and living in different worlds. (SPOILER ALERT) Mitch and Kiera expecting a child and Angela hurt because he had moved on, she still couldn’t have children and she couldn’t accept this new life dynamic. And then there’s Nolan, Angela’s lifeline and everything Mitch wasn’t and isn’t and couldn’t be. There’s a divorce, a wedding and baby…all making this book a straight through read!
I have really enjoyed this story, I went into it a bit blind but was pleasantly surprised. It could easily be made into a film. There’s a bit of everything, drama, suspense, romance. There’s a few typos but nothing major.
This was an absolutely fantastic love story with lots of plot twists and didn't see that coming moments I would love to know what happens Lobster the epilogue😂
We all may find ourselves content, living for the moment or an image Ball provides a view of when the other shoe drops with pain, joy, forgiveness, love, life and death.
3.5 stars Admittedly, romance without any fantasy, sci-fi, or mystery elements is not my preferred genre, but this book was given to me by another indie author, so I wanted to give it a try. Thankfully, Ball's writing made up for a lot in the mismatched genre department.
The most interesting part of the book was the messy fallout after the three survivors of the shipwreck return to civilization. The good news is that you get to that part pretty quickly. The bad news is that we didn't spend enough time with Angela and Nolan while they believed her to be a widow for me to feel like those two had forged a real connection. Same thing with Mitch, Keira, and Nate on the island. I think if the trio had washed up on a deserted island and not found a pretty comfortable house belonging to a drug runner, I would have really felt their bonds as survivors. As it was, it didn't really feel like their connection to each other was forged by a traumatic event and harrowing survival.
I think if Ball had given us more of Angela and Nolan, and more of the stranded trio, before bringing everyone back together, then I as the reader would have felt the chemistry between the characters who were meant to have chemistry. Unfortunately though, there is quite a bit of telling the reader how attractive one character finds another rather than it just being evident. I think if Ball wrote a messy, funny, and dramatic story without a romance being the center focus of the book, I would love it. Because I loved Nolan's family dynamics with his mother and brother. His mom Hilda was by far my favorite character - she was hilarious!
With some basic character introductions and scene descriptions to start, the action crashed into this peaceful cruise with a bang! Having been in a boating accident many years ago, where I was thrown from the damaged craft, thrust into the water at high speed and trapped beneath debris, I was instantly empathetic toward every character and what they were experiencing. I gasped for air as Angela did and had gooseflesh with the memory. From there I couldn't put the book down.
The characters and scenes are well developed. I cheered for each character and awaited their fates as the story progressed. I know what I hoped would happen with each character, and that's exactly how the story proceeded, with the exception of Nate. I'm okay with having a predictable story line. It's the skill of the author that makes the ride through the book enjoyable.
I really enjoyed her writing style but took 1 star off for the more than 20 proofreading errors of all varieties that should have been caught by a good editor: incorrect prepositions, missing words, sat vs set, extra words, awkward sentence structure, typos and on page 57 there seems to be several lines missing before "Angela burst out laughing..." to make the scene coherent.
As a connoisseur of covers I found this one an excellent representation of the story. While it appears simple, its meaning becomes clearer as the story unfolds. This is my first book by this author and I look forward to reading more of her work and adding her name to my Whitelist.
Interesting plot. Believable characters but their dilemmas were a bit dragged out. The book was poorly edited as there were many spelling errors throughout.
