Love, Daddy #7

Dear Diary

Rate this book
Dear Diary,

If it’s just a fantasy, why does it feel so wrong?

Whenever I close my eyes, I hear his voice whispering in my ear…

It’s okay, no one’s going to know. You should feel good too. Here, I’ll show you how…

Am I a deviant?

I can’t stop wondering what it would be like to have a man think of me in that certain, special way. To treat me like his porcelain doll and then do things to me like I’m just a naughty plaything.

His naughty plaything. His little girl. His everything.

I want to look up to him. I want to count on him. To feel his presence even when he’s not with me. To know, beyond anything, he is the one that believes in me. The one that wants what’s best for me. The one that will draw the line and not hesitate to correct me when it’s crossed.

I want to feel the sting of his hand while he puts me over his knee. Telling me it’s going to hurt him more than it hurts me but it’s what’s I need.

I’m a grown woman for Christ’s sake. Wait, is twenty considered grown? IDK, but, deep inside, there’s still a little girl. I could never tell anyone the things I think about. It’s embarrassing.

I’m supposed to go to some fancy uptown bar after work tomorrow where the drinks cost more than I spend for groceries in a week. But, maybe that’s where I’ll see him from across the room and he’ll see me. And we’ll just know.

Anyway, it’s just a fantasy, right? And fantasies are better left as fantasies. At least that’s what everyone says.

Okay, I need to go to bed. Maybe he’ll sneak in my room tonight, slip under the covers with me, tell me I’m such a good girl and he’s going to show me just how good. At least in my dreams that is…

Good night Diary. Keep my secrets for me while I sleep.
xoxo
Chastity

AUTHOR’S NOTE: Take one wicked rich alpha-a-hole, one whip-smart intern trying to survive a cut-throat summer at one of the biggest advertising and marketing firms in Manhattan, mix in two secret fantasies and SHAZAAAAAM. This older hero and his one-and-only find out maybe two wrongs do make a right. There are some missteps, a bit of danger, frilly panties, a butt plug and one very grouchy Macaw, but never fear, there’s no cheating, it’s full-on insta-love and a happily ever after guaranteed.

Since I was a little girl, I’ve made up stories. I would lay in my bed at night and before I knew what a trope was, I would make up these trope filled stories. Boy sees girl, boys falls for girl, boy saves girl….happily ever after. As I got older, the stories turned steamier and more intricate, but the basics never changed.

Now, my books are still full of romance but the naughty bits are naughtier, my hero’s are obsessed alpha types and my heroines are quirky, real women who come in all shapes and sizes.

So, sit back, banish the real world and get lost in some over the top romance with a heaping helping of hot. xoxoxo

Reread (accidentally)

OMG. I did it again. I reread this book, thinking I hadn't read it before. My current thought is still standing. I would probably add up the review a little to 2.5 stars (from its original solid 2 stars). This one is very BDSM-coded of a DDLG kink. Still, the dom-sub dynamic is not my thing (as well as the golden showers. damn, past me really just ignored that part). I'm more of a role play kinda gal and in that aspect, this book delivered.

Anyway, I'm in my Dani Wyatt Renaissance binging era. Expect more scattered and half-assed reviews coming since I just want to enjoy them as much as I can lol.

(original review)

Eh. The hero was your typical insane possessive alpha in this one—heroine, again your typical lg.

I just read it for a palate cleanser. That and it has been a while since I read a ddlg book. In that aspect, this was an okay ddlg book, if you like it to have more of that dom-sub play (which btw not exactly what interests me).

"Dear Diary" is the story of Chastity and Jackson.

Firstly, ADORE the cover page!

A very sexy DD/LG romance with a heroine dreaming of her daddy, and finding him in the much older hero. This book will satisfy most of your smut cravings- and has a good amount of angst/ drama too. The sex scenes are very hot and the book is excellently written.

My only problem comes from me- as I age I realize this is definitely NOT my kink but I occasionally do dabble in it to check if Im into it or not. Not the book's fault though!

Dear Diary is a sweet and tantalizing story with Jack and Chasity in a DD/LG relationship. Jack is OTT and possessive when he first see Chasity and does everything in his power to make her his.
There is misunderstanding and drama in the background which makes this story captivating and very hard to put down!

Dani Wyatt’s “Dear Diary” is a bit of a slow burn in terms of Chastity. Jackson does everything but the deed until about a little after 60%ish into the book. That said, everything that leads up to it is super hot. Chastity, a virginia, has a diary where she keeps her private fantasies of the whole d4ddy/lg thing. When she meets Jackson, her dreams come true. However, things can’t go that smoothly. Jackson is alpha, possessive, and has trust issues, and there is a wee bit of drama. Overall, it was a good read.

Just wasn’t feeling it. Very boring and slow, very very low angst, but not the worst. This quote put me off a bit, but I continued. Maybe it was just my timing.

“My personal Lolita.” If you’ve read the book, you’ll understand why the quote is so icky.

Uh, oh! Dani Wyatt is the queen of this genre and this type of longer books let her mastery shine, like all the books in this series.

This is the story of Chastity and Jackson, who found each other perfectly, each of them searching the same kind of love and hotness. Their age difference and their positions make the story a fast paced ddlg romance with a bit of drama and a tone of hot scenes.

As this book tends to go quite strong into the lifestyle, there were some moments that were a bit too much for me, but there were a lot of things I liked. My favorite think about this book is that both characters knew very well what they wanted and they went pretty full in, knowing how things will go. No matter how young Chastity is, she knows very clearly what she wants, even before she finds Jackson, which I feel it doesn't happen so often and so clearly in many books like this. I also loved the "dear diary" insertions, it added a very lovely note to the whole book.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

I love DD/lg kink. I expected an actual story here, I guess? I do love instalove, but I don't know. It was just too extreme here, maybe. Maybe if the heroine was aware beforehand of her Little self. But she wasn't. Then he just comes in and he's like, “I want you and you want me and I will have you and I'm your Daddy and you’re my little girl and you're going to follow all my rules and do everything I say and this is your life now,” and his Daddy kink was pretty extreme. To like, just throw it at her like that. I don't know, it just didn't sit well with me.

I know that it is hard for a romance to balance the right amount of DdLg play and instalove while still have the streak of normalcy work romance. Oh, it's a mess. I think that's what happens with this book. Everything was too instant like the fact that the trust was built too fast; no main pivoting event to turn heads around to create that (instant) trust. I just thought some of the details didn't make sense, well, at least for me. I couldn't thoroughly enjoy this since it was just too heavily laid its plot on the play instead of the wholeness story. Probably just not my kinda DdLg book.

Virgin h
No condoms
Drama with h's friends and H's legal case
No cheating, No OW/OM
Safe read-ish
HEA, Epilogue
Overall score: 2.5 Daddy romance stars

This book seemed like a return to old school Dani Wyatt - a seriously OTT hero, down on their luck heroine and enough steam for a sauna. Throw in some Daddy kink and I tore through this book with glee.

This book had it all; a cold and controlled hero, a sweetly naive heroine, primal chemistry, some seriously smexy interactions, manipulative secondary characters, and a villain completely out of left field. Like, SERIOUSLY out of left field.

It was a really fun read and I enjoyed it immensely.

Loved the story and characters!!! The fact there is “Dear Diary” entries though the whole book showed quite a lot of Chastitys personal thoughts. I must admit though the line “Okay, time for breakfast. If I’m late it will be twenty lashes with a soggy piece of bacon.” Was absolutely hilarious...

Dear Diary by Dani Wyatt ⭐⭐⭐

Hero - Jackson Carter. CEO of his venture capital investment firm. Sits on the board of several Fortune 500 companies. 6’6 and built like a Nordic strongman competitor with tanned skin, black hair with bits of silver at his temples and through his beard, and light blue eyes. Has a slightly crooked nose and a scar above his left eyebrow.

Heroine - Chastity Nash. Marketing intern at Westwood, Inc. 5’6 and pale-skinned with wavy, dark-chocolate hair, wispy bangs, and green eyes. Freckles on her nose.

Overall Thoughts - Let me start by saying that Dani Wyatt writes some of the best (and hottest) DD/lg romances. My biggest criticism for this book (as with Good Girls Say Please) is that she adds in mystery and unnecessary drama. The mystery is a little too contrived and the drama was unnecessary because it popped up right before the mystery reached its climax. It was just too much and therefore, too unnatural. Had this been just a straight romance about navigating the DD/lg lifestyle, I would have rated it higher. As it stands, I also have to rate the mystery portion of it, too, and that’s this book’s biggest weakness.

Now, the hero’s referred to as “Jack” in the book, but since Jackson’s such a great name, I’m not going to let it go to waste. He and Chastity have great chemistry, if not communication, and I really enjoyed the development of their relationship. I just wish the story didn’t devolve into an overdramatic mess at the end.

The unnecessary drama plays out too conveniently to be in any way natural. There’s a side character named Sasha who appears briefly in the beginning as a co-worker that Chastity knows is stealing ideas from her. She gets fired and then we don’t hear anything about her until it’s convenient for the plot around 80%. All of a sudden, the coworker who steals ideas from Chastity is now someone that Chastity is eager to talk to and help. She was somehow under the impression that Sasha was on vacation (we’re never told how she came to that conclusion), but now that she knows that Sasha was fired, she wants to help her get her job back so she blabs to the woman that she’s sleeping with the company’s actual owner. Mind you, Chastity is well aware of Sasha’s thieving ways and yet she wants to help her get her job back. WHAT? How does it not occur to her that Sasha may have gotten fired for, oh I don’t know…stealing other people’s ideas?

So now that Sasha knows about Chastity and Jackson’s secret relationship, I wondered if that would be the catalyst for some kind of drama down the road, but nope! The only reason Sasha reappears is . That’s it. Sasha is never seen or heard from again. Did Chastity ever make the case to Jackson for Sasha to get her job back? I guess Chastity’s not friends with her after all...imagine that.

Anyway, that’s only the start of the drama that could have easily been avoided had Jackson just explained what was going on to her. Or if after gaining this knowledge, Chastity had just gone to him and asked. Instead, we get a contrived scene of her wandering down the street in the rain and stopping at a coffee shop only to see - dum dum DUM - Jackson sitting at a table with . Does she go inside and interrupt them? No. Does she try calling him to see if he’ll answer, maybe try to lure him out of the public eye so she can confront him? No. Instead, she runs away, now convinced that not only has he been . Oh my God, just stahp. 🤣

Chastity, distraught due to her own lack of communication skills, decides the best course of action is . Then comes - dum dum DUM - the climax of the mystery, which involves her . Poor girl couldn't catch a break that afternoon. Do you see what I mean about everything being so contrived? Was this supposed to feel like a natural progression of the plot? So let’s talk about the mystery.

The mystery is a little too mysterious. As in, we don’t get enough foreshadowing of what’s to come for what actually occurs to make sense. It originally starts in the form of three sexual harassment claims filed against him. They’re all from women who work at companies of his that are out-of-state that he hasn’t visited in ages. He assumes someone’s got it out for him and is orchestrating the whole thing, which made sense to me. That was it, that was the mystery for most of the book - who’s orchestrating this? Who’s convincing these women to lie about him? It isn’t until after the unnecessary drama begins that it comes out that .

From then on, everything feels incredibly rushed. We’ve got the unnecessary drama going on with Chastity, and now there’s a mentally unstable .

Except here’s the problem - why is any of this happening? How is any of this happening? Jackson and Chastity were in a secret relationship. They never went anywhere together. They never mention

I’m exhausted. Is it too much to ask for a DD/lg book that focuses on just that?

Jackson is in a bar waiting for his business partners to show up. But before they do, he spots Chastity in the crowd. She’s perfectly sweet and innocent, just his type. And even better, it seems like they both share a secret daddy kink together…

This was great for a fun smutty read. Jackson grated on me at first because he was so judgmental. He was always saying other women were horrible for dressing a certain way or silly things like that. But eventually he stopped and I liked him better. Definitely still over-the-top and possessive though.

Chastity was great. She was nice and well-intentioned. The title “Dear Diary” comes from her writing in her diary about wanting a daddy and stuff. Then she meets Jackson. Sparks fly. Conflict happens. Then happily ever after.

I liked this one because of the smut level (higher steam) and the fact that it was a bit longer than most erotic novellas. Keeping on my shelf for now.

Dear Diary by Dani Wyatt was EVERYTHING I hoped it would be and more after reading the synopsis! Dani blew me away with this story, and seriously, it was thoroughly enjoyable, and HAWT!

Jackson is deliciously OTT from the very start, and he absolutely starts as he means to carry on, and it had me SWOONING!

And Chastity? What a sweetheart! She's so endearing and wide eyed and still carries such a weight on her shoulders.

Their connection and chemistry is electric and I loved falling more in love with them as they get all wrapped up in one another! Though there's definitely still tension and drama and intrigue and GOODNESS GRACIOUS it was SO GOOD!

This story has a bit of everything for everyone, especially if it falls in line with some personal preferences you like to read about. It is double edged, soft and sweet yet rough and hard, and definitely had me squirming in my seat as I devoured it! I can't wait to reread it, and I think you'll absolutely get a kick out of it if it is your kind of kink!

Holy hotness, Jackson and Chastity are scorching. Dani Wyatt is one of my favorite authors, I have reread her stories numerous times. One of the reasons why I adore her, she brings you into the heart of her characters. You know them, you become them. I might not be crazy about everything the characters do but I experience it through their eyes. While an event or two in Dear Diary weren't to my taste, I felt it was handled deftly. I got swept up into the story, living their lives with them and I love that about Ms Wyatt's books. Chastity might have been sheltered, but she isn't ignorant. She knows herself and knows how Jackson makes her feel. Jackson is pretty contained, his true nature is hidden. When they meet, Jackson cannot keep that part of himself closed off any more. When he lets himself off the chain so to speak, he is all in. I loved this couple and I am thrilled to have it in my collection!

I think that I found this author because I was searching for a book on GoodReads to write a review for it and found Dani Wyatt as she had a book with the same title I was searching (it's the sixth book in this series). And then I went into a rabbit hole reading the synopsis of all of her books. Which brings me to this one. Did I start reading the last book in this series instead of going in chronological order simply because this synopsis intrigued me? Yes. Will I read more books in this series and by the author? Also yes. This book is exactly what you would expect it to be and I enjoyed it. This is saying something because before this year I pretty much didn't read any dd/lg books. I'm not giving it anything higher than 3 stars though because the characters were just okay and the story itself wasn't anything out of this world. This was a solid 3 stars.

***I received an ARC and am leaving my honest opinion***

Holy hotness, Batman, my heart is still beating rapidly. This book was everything I thought it was going to be based on teasers from the author and then some. It was quick paced and the story sucked me in really fast. There were no lulls or breaks in continuity and, as always, Dani delivered an Alpha who did not disappoint and a heroine to be envious of. This was a bit longer than other books by the same author but don't let the length intimidate or dissuade you from reading. I actually think this is my favorite of all the books I've read by Dani so far (and I've pretty much read them ALL) because I appreciate the detailed character development. No spoilers but the plot twist at the end was genius!

Holey Moley that was awesome! I loved Chastity and Jackson! These two both have been looking for their other and never thought that they would ever find it. I loved how protective and obsessed Jackson is of Chastity, even when things were looking bleak for them, he just couldn't let go. Chastity was so sweet but when she was comfortable, or nervous, she had no problem letter her month run away. I loved the connection and the chemistry between these two. I really enjoyed the little twits and turns that this book took. Overall, I loved this book and I would highly recommend it and Ms. Dani as a great author!

First half, yes! Second half, no!

*SPOILERS*

I love OMYW and I don’t mind some age-play but I’m not a hardcore DDlg fan. The first half of this was smoking hot, then at about 48% things took a hard right. Again, I don’t read much DDlg so I don’t know if it’s standard or not, but they quickly got into restraints (no safe word - it’s just assume that baby girl will do what Daddy demands) and then there’s a golden cage and twice there are golden showers. I didn’t see that mentioned in other reviews. It’s not directly said - more in the vein of “then Daddy gave me another kind of shower”. Not my kink at all.

I warred between a 2 and 3. I finally decided on 3 because the first half was so good.

Meh. This was waaaayyyyy too much daddy kink for me. That seemed to be their only relationship; there was no emotional development and connection between them.

I didnt care for the hero wrapping a belt around the heroines neck and then hitting her with a kitchen utensil. If u need to get off by hurting another, theres something seriously demented and deranged with you.

I liked that the hero was celibate for a while. That he wasnt a manwhore, that the heroine got a part of himself that no one else was ever given.

Safe-ish. Hero is celibate, not much of his past is mentioned. Heroine is a virgin and belongs only to her hero. No ow/om, no cheating or sharing. Hero is abusive towards heroine. Hea with epilogue

Jackson is the CEO of a venture capital investment firm and when he lays eyes on Chastity he knows she is what he has been waiting for.

She's been secretly looking for a Daddy and only told her diary of her secret desires and fantasies. Jackson has been looking for "the center of his universe." He has now found his purpose. But, someone has their eyes set on destroying everything that Jackson has built, but who? And why?

This is an age-gap, Daddy story that sets the pages on fire.

"Because I've found what I've been looking form y whole life. Making you happy gives me something I never thought I would have and intend to make the rest of our life extraordinary."

Holy whoa🔥

Wow, where do I start... this was like a return to the Dani Wyatt books that got me to start reading her books and find others like it. Jack and Chastity did not disappoint. Chastity was sweet and perfect for Jack, and as cold as Jack appeared to the world, he was a teddy bear for his princess, not that he was dominant af also... I was lucky enough to receive an arc of this last night, and read as much as I could til I fell asleep and just finished it here at work. I will definitely read it again and now it makes me want to go back and read her entire love daddy series again. Highly recommend. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

This was a steam packed story. I loved the characters, the plot was fun and engaging, i really enjoyed the Daddy Dom play, I loved the ending, I enjoyed the little extra details, though I wanted more from the bird. I mean, who doesn’t want more about the pets in a story? Especially the speaking ones.
The sex was hot and filthy, Jack was sweet and absolutely demanding, Chastity was innocent and dirty as fuck at the same time, and the storyline filled in the gaps exactly where it was needed.
I love this series from Dani. Hope to see her release more books with Daddy’s in them sometime soon.

Dear Diary is a great DD/lg read, I will say that there were some parts that had put me off a little, but the story overall was great. Jackson never thought that he would find someone that could handle his secret needs. But a chance meeting in a bar showed him that his one was out there. Chastity has always shared a secret with only her diary, having dreams and fantasies of a man who would treat her like his babygirl. Seeing Jack in the bar and the chemistry and vibes that the two had going on between them, had her finally thinking that maybe she could have more than just her dreams. These two fell into the Daddy/little girl lifestyle so effortlessly. They were definitely made for each other. Loved the twist towards the end. Another great read from Dani!!
