The Caregivers #2

The Entrepreneur's Nurse

Rate this book
His trip to Africa is strictly business. Her attraction to a tourist is a prescription for heartbreak.

Although Brady Sharp is earning seven figures from his business, he’s always on the lookout for the next profitable venture. When he learns of a tourist resort for sale in Uganda, he boards the first available flight, ready to strike that deal—until he falls off a motorcycle taxi and misses the contract and his flight back home.

Being the sole owner of the only clinic in a Kampala suburb, Ruth Kirabo treats a variety of illnesses—from malaria to minor surgeries, you name it. After she stitches an incoherent tourist she rescues from the roadside, she doesn’t expect to see the white man again.

When Brady goes to thank the gorgeous nurse for saving his life, she’s on her way to the village, and he offers to tag along. Each day spent with her creates a deeper attraction—a threat to his long-term goals of becoming the next billionaire. Treating a bunch of locals, killing poisonous snakes, and digging wells—surely all must be temporary.

But why does his heart ache when she says goodbye? Is Ruth willing to risk her heart for a long-distance relationship? Soon Brady must make a conflicting choice: pursue his ambition or take a chance on love.

The Entrepreneur's Nurse was my first story by Rose Fresquez and it was wonderful! It was sweet and slow and I think that it represented the fact that most of the story is based in Uganda, the pace of life is probably a lot slower than in North America. I really enjoyed it, and learning about a country that I don't know a lot about.

Oh, wow! I loved Ruth and Brady's story!! Brady is consumed with becoming a billionaire, though he has no one to leave his legacy to. Ruth is trying to help as many people as she can with very little in her country of Uganda. When Brady goes to Uganda to make a business deal, he ends up in Ruth's care after an accident. With Ruth, he learns what's really important, and comes to realize his faith in God is the most important thing, then his love for Ruth, followed by helping others. When he has to leave, his finds out how empty his life is without Ruth, but can he find a way to be with the woman he loves?

I received a complimentary copy of this book, was not required to leave a review, and the opinion expressed is my own.

Loved This

What an excellent glimpse of Africa and the difference in life there and life in the USA. I loved the simpler life and joyous life of those in Africa. Ruth and Brady’s story is full of thought-provoking moments and insights.

3.5 stars but only because it felt too long at times. Loved the setting, I felt like I was learning something about the people and country. Not sure where it could be cut but it dragged enough at times that I got pulled out of the world.
I especially enjoyed the village and the people there.

The Entrepreneur’s Nurse, the second book in Rose Fresquez’s Caregivers series, takes readers on an incredible journey to the country of Uganda in Africa. This beautiful tale of finding true love and rediscovering faith is sure to become a favorite of Rose Fresquez’s readers. Her vivid descriptions of the sights and sounds of daily life in Uganda allow the readers to feel like they are taking the journey through the villages and towns right along with Brady and Ruth.

The Entrepreneur’s Nurse is recommended for readers of inspirational contemporary romance.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author/publisher and was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine.

Brady an entrepreneur travels to Uganda from the US and while there ends up hurt and lying in the street. But luckily (or was it God’s hand of providence) Ruth, a local nurse who runs a clinic out of her home, comes along and springs into action. She takes Brady home and nurses him back to health. And as Brady and Ruth spend time together they both feel an attraction to one another. But there are some many barriers to keep them apart, is there any hope for romance. I love this stories location of Uganda because I get to there more about the country and it’s customs. Just one note, I was having trouble getting into the book at first as I was getting hung up on words I didn’t understand. But any unknown words are defined in the context, so stick it out. It will be worth it.

A sweet cross-cultural romance. 2 people, not only from different cultures but also different socio-economical places in life meet due to an accident. Although a believer, Brady hasn't been activily persuing his belief, just wealth. Ruth on the other hand, trusts in God for everything from the basics she needs to treat her patients to having a man drop in her lap. In some respects it shows that God has a sense of humor when Brady is almost literaly dropped in Ruth's lap as a patient in her clinic. It's a real world story about 2 people who meet and have to navigate diferences in culture and their feelings for each other

I really liked the characters in this book. Brady Sharp was CEO of Sharp Resorts and had a quick trip to Africa to try to buy his next resort when everything that could possibly go wrong did, except he met Ruth Kirabo, a nurse.

It was so interesting to learn about where Ruth lived and about her family. The author made me feel like I was right there, which I enjoyed. The week stay in the village was really interesting. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

I felt like I was right there as this story was unfolding. Brady is an entrepreneur who is in Uganda hoping to buy a resort. Ruth is a nurse who lives there. This is where their story begins. This book will not disappoint.

Wealthy businessman Brady traveled to Uganda for an important deal that would take his business to the next level; he was not looking for love or even friendship. When he is badly injured and left on the side of the road, he is rescued by selfless nurse, Ruth. Ruth is generous, kind and beautiful. She has Brady taken to her clinic where she looks after him and prays over him. For Brady, while he has missed his business meeting, he feels that this opportunity has slowed him down so that he can breath and get back in touch with God. Feeling a connection to Ruth and this country, Brady decides to accompany Ruth to her village and help with both her medical work and the chores her family undertakes. This story sweetly details Brady recommitment to God and his burgeoning love for Ruth. How will these two wonderful people have a long distance committed relationship when they are on different continents? As always, Rose Fresquez makes us care about her characters and rejoice in their GODLY road to HEA.

Ruth and Brady meet when she finds him hurting and unconscious by the roadside while he's rushing to an important business meeting in her native land of Uganda. She arranges to take him back to her village clinic and treat him. When he revives, he's distraught that he's missed his important meeting. He finds himself stranded until the next flight back to the States and decides to travel with Ruth to her home village as she treats the impoverished community. Between Ruth's tireless and servant's heart, her caring family, and the dire needs of the community, something touches Brady and brings about a change of his priorities. Where previously, he prioritized business first and then, if he wasn't too tired, God might be remembered, Ruth showed him a whole other way of living. I loved the tender unfolding of this romantic story, it's lessons of faith, and the descriptions of living in Uganda amongst poverty and difficulties. I highly recommend this book and the others in this Caregivers series by Ms. Fresquez. Excellent!

Wow! What a story. So much I could say. Again the title just does not do it justice. I have no doubt others look at this book just as I didn’t think it’s just some silly fluffy no depth romance. And that could not be further from the truth.

Yes, it is a romance, but even the romance, and this one has great depth and richness. It’s not all superficial at all.

But even more is the struggle in the lesson to ought concerning what the world, especially America, values and consider success, and what God does.

I loved watching Brady and Rose both struggle and work through wanting to be together and wanting to be fully surrendered to the Lord. It was a beautiful faith, journey moment.

I loved the setting of Uganda and learning about customs and ways in that country. This is one of the things that’s best about books. It takes you to somewhere different and opens your eyes to the realities there.

I confess I woke up this morning sad not to be going to visit Brady and Ruth and seeing what’s happening in their part of the world.

Ruth and Brady - the ties that bind

What a delightful book. Ruth was an inspiration and a bright shining light for all of her people. She was selfless and would help anyone in need. Brady, a rich American, was in Uganda to purchase another hotel and build his brand. But the Lord had other plans and Brady was riding on the back of a boda boda, a motor bike, and had been thrown off, he was injured. Ruth found him in the tall grasses and had Dongo carry him to her clinic for treatment.
They fell in love and finally Brady asked her to marry him. With Brady’s wealth, for a bride price he built her family a new house, her a new clinic, a new hospital...he was using his wealth to better Uganda. A wonderful HEA.

Another amazingly sweet read! I admit I got excited for the couple in the end of the book and even shed a few tears. I love how God touched so many lives and turned a man whose mind was set on business only into a man who wanted to make a difference in everyone’s lives around him by doing the work of God. And who was it to help him remember who is always in charge (God)? Ruthie!

I must also mention that I liked the fact the characters from book 1 - The Doctor’s Nanny - were also in this book. Ryan and Lucas were Brady’s neighbors growing up. I bet all the characters will connect in all 6 books of this series. My guess is that Lucas will meet someone and we’ll read his story of love soon.

Next in this sweet Christian Romance series is The Physician’s Helper. Book 3.

I thoroughly enjoyed being swept away by this book, and only set it down when I had to do so. The romance is clean yet exciting, and I was hooked almost immediately. I really enjoyed the setting of Uganda and learning a bit about some of the culture there. The characters are inspiring with regards to their faith and their passion to help others and to put others first. It was nice to escape into this realistic romantic fantasy. Yes, that's probably an oxymoron, but it feels right. I received a free review copy of this book, but my opinions and rating are fully my own. This book stands alone, but the author makes connections among her characters from other books, which is really fun!

Amazing!

The story is set mainly in Uganda - such an interesting and beautiful country. I loved reading about it! Nurse Ruth is a wonderful person of great faith and has a compassionate heart for her fellow man and their many struggles. Brady ends up needing Ruth's care when he visits Uganda for business and misses his flight home because of an accident. He's blown away by her whole wonderful character while she shows him a very different life to his one in America. Such a heartwarming love story. I loved all the characters and thoroughly enjoyed the whole book. First time reading this author. and I'll definitely be reading more by her!

Love in an Unexpected Land

An accident in Uganda lands Brady in a heap along the road. The driver rode on without even stopping to help him. But then Ruth, a Ugandan nurse rescued him and takes care of him.

Ruth had been praying for a white man to drop in her lap that she could marry because most of the men in her area married more than one woman. They had children with each woman. As a Christian, Ruth only wanted one husband. Brady was white, but he was there only for business reasons! He would never be interested in her. Besides all of that, he was in a hurry to get back to NYC, wherever that was!

Brady has gone to Uganda to brook a deal with a resort but he ends up falling off the back of a scooter and being knocked out. He's rescued by Ruth, a local nurse, who's trying to look after the locals and also save enough money to treat the people in her village.
Brady then misses his flight back to the States and so spends more time with Ruth, he ends up going to her village and seeing the poverty and needs of the people. He's very wealthy, even more so by the standards of the local people.

A great read from Rose.

This is a new author for me and the first in this series that I have read. I enjoyed this story, the characters were developed and likeable, the setting was interesting and I felt I learnt a lot about a different culture and way of life. I liked how faith, family, communities and giving back were at the centre of this story. I liked that I didn't know how things were going to go, the story held my interest and I cared about the characters.

In Entrepreneur's Nurse(The Caregivers Book 2) by Rose Fresquez, we discover missing your flight may not always be a bad thing. While being in Uganda Brady falls off a motorcycle taxi and Ruth, a nurse, finds him on the road, brings him back to the clinic and stiches up his wounds. She doesn't expect to see him again but he goes back to the clinic to thank her for saving his life. And this is only the start. This is another great book by Rose Fresquez that I was lucky to receive from BookFunnel. This book is available on Amazon

This is a well written, clean, wholesome book that will hold your attention until the feel good ending. It shows that skin color is not important it what is important is for the parties to be followers of God. A ambitious businessman is injured in an vehicle accident and nursed back to health by a dedicated Christian nurse. Needless to say the couple fall for each other and discover long distance romance doesn’t work too well. The story is well worth reading and it shows love can conquer all problems if the couple really try to make their relationship work.

Fast forward... they fell in love... But things can't never be simple...

True Love is Giving

Brady and Ruth both had been burned by supposed love in their lives before meeting each other, Brady the women wanted either his money or to control him, poor Ruby the boys she dated couldn't a woman stronger and more successfully, than they were or could become. Once Brady and Ruthie ended up on the same track she couldn't help but love him and he couldn't help, but love her. Rose really hit home in this one. If you read nothing else this year read the Entrepreneur's Nurse.

The second book in the Caregivers series a well written story that held my interest until the end. New Yorker Brady Sharp goes to Uganda for business but falls off a motorcycle taxi. The sole owner of the only clinic in a Kampala suburb, Ruth Kirabo patches him up, and their story begins. I enjoyed seeing these two get their happy ending. I loved the setting in Uganda. Ruth and Brady meet by accident or divine intervention? Really enjoyed reading about their relationship, her family and patients. There are a few obstacles to them dating long distance but true love prevails. He seemed to really change - not that he was a unlikeable guy before - after he met Ruth. She is one of the sweetest characters I have read about in awhile. love the ending

Building and keeping faith...

Brady and Ruth’s story was one of inspiration for finding lost faith and keeping it. As different as their lives and cultures were, they encouraged each other to be and do better. Their love was genuine and held them together even when they were countries apart. They allowed God to lead their thoughts and actions which allowed God’s blessings to rain down abundantly!!

I fell in love with this story as well as Brady and Ruth. They couldn’t be more different yet still found love in each other. God’s love and devotion is right on time. He gives you what you need whether you know it or not. Though they experienced a few challenges they made it work for them. I look forward to reading the next book in this series.

I received an arc copy of this book for an honest review.

Can be read as a standalone but some of the characters overlap.
She's a nurse in Uganda splitting her time between a clinic and her home village. Her prayer is for a "mzungu to fall in her lap".
His plans are to fly in and out the same day for a meeting. Unfortunately he is introduced to some of the less desirable experiences on the way.
Opposites attract
Culture shock
He falls first
Communication issues

Wow! This book rates a 5+++ rating. It pulled me in at the first pages and I literally did not put it down until I had finished. The author has created a story and characters that pull you into the story unfolding on each page. A trip through Uganda that takes you into posh hotels, a white water trip down the Nile, zip lines, bungee jumping, but that ultimately captures your heart in clinics, small villages and people with nothing in the virtual comforts of many American lives, and a people that are grateful to the Lord and show it with praise, Thanksgiving and dancing! Such a beautiful, inspiring, and yet simplistic story that will touch your heart!
