I can't wait to read more from this author. I loved this story. I loved all the characters.. I loved how determined the characters was. I love the cover and the title. I can't wait for more.
Her Path to Redemption is a heartwarming story written by Patrice Lewis. The author has done a great job choosing her characters for this story which you either love or dislike. The storyline takes the reader back to a previous story when Levy and Jane's story was told. This story revolves around Levy's sisters return to the community. All Eliza wants is to raise her daughter in the Amish faith but some members of the community are placing unfair obstacles in her way. As Eliza finds her way while living according to the values of the Amish church one woman is not believing it. That one woman could cause Eliza's quest to be baptized not to happen. When rumors start to circulate about Eliza she is really tempted to flee the community again. The author has done a fantastic job showing the readers how one person with her own demons can ruin someone's life. At the conclusion of this story and all is revealed you will definitely be shocked.
I was not given a complimentary copy of this book to read and review. I was not approached to post a favorable response and all opinions expressed are my own. I have rated this story with five stars for meeting my expectations of a wonderful story that I can highly recommend to others.
I don't want to burst anyone's bubble, but if you think her path to redemption has anything to do with the bowl of strawberries on the cover, you're going to be disappointed. The various berries mentioned in the book are but auxiliary to the story. Amish berry MacGuffins, if you will. Good book, for all that.
Eliza and Josiah are meant to be together. They SHOULD have been together, but she jumped the fence. Now she's a widow with a toddler and determined to raise her child in the faith.
A great story about Eliza, making wrong decisions during her rumspringa that caused heartache, not only from her brother but the man she had loved, Josiah.
As with the previous installments in this series, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I deducted one star because the storyline largely followed the path that Jane and Levy traveled during their courtship with only minor to moderate changes to some of the details. More than once I found myself thinking, "I've heard this story before" but it wasn't enough to keep me from enjoying the ride. To Mrs. Lewis if she reads this, please keep writing these stories. Try to change up the formula a little, but not too much. I'll buy every one you publish.
