S.O.S.
Psychotic wolf-witch hybrid on the loose.
Aurelia Clementine is about to make this new pack her b*itch!

I, Aurelia Delianna Clementine, used to have all my screws intact as the strongest — and sole hybrid — of the Clementine family. With magic that could destroy New York with a snap of my fingers, it’s a good thing my inner mini-wolf had more sanity than me, especially after I lost a chunk of myself when I was rejected by my best friend.

That incident destroyed the future I envisioned for us, but now I’m living my best life with my bestie CEO, Willow De Luca, and her stalker "not my boyfriend" Onyx Charm. When two new packs enter New York, I decide to have some fun with them, but I never expected to meet him again: Ace Hunter.

My former best friend — or should I say, my destined mate who rejected me?

In a world of darkness and threatened power lineages, I'll have to prove to him and his dangerous pack that I'm not the same helpless hybrid he abandoned way back then.
I may be crazy, high on happy pills, and talk to myself from time to time, but I’m more powerful than ever before.

It’s time for him to face the consequences of breaking a Clementine.

WOLF REJECTED is a full-length (157k+) Dark Paranormal Rejected Mates Romance. Recommended for 18+ due to language and sexual situations. Readers of WOLF AWAKENED - WILLOW'S FORBIDDEN PACK will enjoy this thrilling adventure of Willow De Luca's best friend, Aurelia Clementine.

DNF at 50%, which was way further than I should have gone. So many cryptic sentences in the beginning, so many depressing scenes. I was thinking it was going to have a rough, sad start and it would make the MC so much stronger for it, but I have given up. The place where I really should have quit reading?? “I was beginning to realize that his rod of a banana was supposed to slide right into my juicy orange...”. Seriously? WTF is this??

Trust me when I tell you that you are not ready for Aurelia's story. It's sad. Really, really tragic from start to almost the end. Don't get me wrong, there's lots of fun, lots of steam, and lots of Aurelia's perspective when it comes to Willow and Onyx, but I had no idea what she'd been dealing with behind the scenes. The fact that she functions at all shows her strength, and when she starts to thrive, I couldn't help but cheer. I feel so much more for her than I already did, and her pizzazz and sass just make me love her all the more. The men... I don't want to spoil anything, so I'll just say that they're as fun, crazy, and moody as she is. There's one though, that made me swoon in every scene. He's just so supportive and loving it was hard not to fall hard. There are surprises, betrayals, intrigue, and romance. The plot is easy to fall into and the writing is superb. Another great story from one of my favorite authors. Brava!

I LOVE AURELIA! Okay so let me back track. Aurelia first comes to light in her besties, Willow's books. I was obsessed with her there and am just as much now. Do I think it is helpful to read Willow's first book, first yes. Is it required, heck no! Now back to my girl Aurelia!

This woman has been through so much starting at such a young age. Event after event of trauma, sadness and being broken. I promise the heartache and tears will be worth it. The story unfolds, secrets come to life and the pieces begin to fall into place. You will have most of your beginning questions answers but like all of Avery Song's book, you will be left with more.

Has Ms. Song shown us the Full deck or is there more to come? I guess we will just have to wait and see.

Wolf Rejected is book one in the Aurelia’s Pack of Misfits series by Avery Song.

Look at that cover. It’s intense and what drew me to pick up this novel. Unfortunately this story was all over the place and I’m conflicted on how to feel about it. I found some aspects interesting and then others that were just bizarre.

Our lead Aurelia is a hybrid, witch and wolf, yet we don’t see the wolf aspect. The author focus on the witch stuff and only brings the wolf in now and then, but we don’t get much. I was disappointed in this. I wanted a better blend of the two natures. As for Aurelia she’s weak and doesn’t show any growth or improvement. She lets everyone manipulate her and doesn’t do anything to change the situation. Theirs a lot of emotional abuse, self hatred, and copious amounts of pill use to try and make herself better, but all it’s doing is making sure she doesn’t meet the issues head on and hides away from it all. It was so frustrating! I wanted to like her, but she never changed. Same pattern over and over even though she realizes that she’s in a cage.

When we start Aurelia is 8-years-old then it jumps 2 years and then 8 years more. It was odd how the story starts and progress. It was all over the place and didn’t make sense. I also couldn’t get behind any of the romances. Theirs just not enough explanation on anything, not enough character growth, and really it was so all over the place and didn’t make sense.

Wolf Rejected was not the book for me. If the blurb intrigues you, I urge you to give it a shot. Just because it did not work for me does not mean it won’t for you.

This girl and this story, ugh!!! She literally listens in on conversations that explain what's happening and then plays dumb and has her friends and family explain it to her again (please give me more redundancy because I'm slow, oh wait, that's just the MC) AND then she still plays innocent, helpless and dumb then takes forever for her to get her shit together and it wasn't even enough for me at that point.

The story is weak with holes in world building, and downright missing information, which wasn't imperative to the story but frustrating in the enjoyment department. Consistency was shaky too.

As guaranteed from an Avery Song book: this was an epic read. I came at this book having already read Willow’s Forbidden Pack on going series and been introduced to Aurelia, so I already knew I was going to love reading Aurelia’s story and getting insight into her character and past and expected the sorrow and emotions similar to Willow’s story. This book gave me so much appreciation for Aurelia, Willow and Onyx’s relationship, the three of them being exactly what was needed to help them on their very heartbreaking paths in life and be able to try work towards their own goals and troubles whilst also being supportive and there for each other too. This series delves more into the witch side of being a hybrid since Aurelia is viewed more for her witch side whilst Willow was more the wolf pack side, but both pasts and politics of witch/wolf were discussed and given greater insight for those who have read Willows. I cannot wait for Aurelia to fully embrace and grow into the fullest version of her self with the right people beside her and see where the story goes and the connections between Aurelia’s pack and Willows pack! Ends with many questions and a cliffhanger for those who haven’t ready willows books as this book was slightly behind the timeline of Willows by the end.

Avery Song has done it yet again! She has created characters that have had rough starts to life, and they still remain positive. They show that it is ok to have a bad day, it is ok to be a little crazy, it is ok to love whith everything you have!

How Avery gives such demention to her characters, while keeping all the different characters and really story lines, separate is amazing! I highly recommend you read this book if you have read Willow/Williams story!

From the first page their is nonstop action, adventure, love, emotion, and deep soul touching insight. I could not put it down. October can't come fast enough, but to hold me over I am adding this book back into my rotation!

✨Aurelia's intense and AMAZING backstory has arrived!!!

Oh my goodness!!!! This spinoff from the WILLOW'S FORBIDDEN PACK series (which is about Aurelia's BFF and all of his/her loves and pack) gives us even more details about Aurelia, Willow, Onyx and more!!! Do you have to have read WILLOW'S series first???? Not necessarily.... You can probably dive in after this newest gem, however I strongly suggest you DO read them at some point.

I absolutely LOVED learning more about Aurelia and Willow's friendship and their past. I thought Aurelia was a fierce female before, but I officially bow down in her glory. Dive into this brilliant story where women are strong, fearless and flat out amazing. There is tons of mystery, intrigue, action, adventure, magic, steamy scenes, tragedy and so much more. I dare you to call this series boring. Go on....do it....may Medusa snap ya out of that delusion and show you the brilliance that is Aurelia! I could not put it down, and am dying to see what's up next!!

A slow burn, but what an ending!

This didn’t go the way I expected. It has a series of long vignettes from points and events in Aurelia’s life that have impacted her and helped shape her into the woman she’s become. Ace is her mate who rejected her all those many years ago, but still has trouble acknowledging the damage and chaos this choice brought about.

There is more going on in the Coven than meets the eye, and it isn’t until later in the book that the true nature of the Coven begins to make itself felt. So while I wasn’t that keen on reading about Aurelia’s younger years, it definitely made the sections where she’s an adult much more impactful when you know the whole story behind her craziness, and the trust and self worth issues that plague her. Will definitely be moving on to the next book when it’s out.

This book was Amazing!
Wolf Rejected is a roller coaster ride right from the first page to the very last.
The story starts with a nine year old Aurelia being rejected by her mate/best friend Ace and the story unfolds from there showing the tragic upbringing that Aurelia has endured since becoming a wolf rejected. You feel every moment of loneliness Aurelia has felt since then and how the only people she could depend on were her grandmother and her friends Willow/William and Onyx.
This book was amazing and I really enjoyed it and I can’t wait to see how Aurelia and her pack of misfits will kick butt (because I know they will) in the next book!

A wild ride

This book is huge, it takes a while to get through as there are so many twists and turns throughout the story. You watch Aurelia grow and go through a hell of a lot, she is strong but also fearful due to an early traumatic incident. There are a lot of strong males but the best ones are the crazy ones. Stick with this book, a lot of the answers don't appear until near the end and even then you'll be left with a few more. Looking forward to see how this one continues.

DNF @ 21%. I gave it 2 stars because the quality of the writing was fine I didn’t see any editing issues. I found the story to be pretty disjointed and it didn’t have great flow. I persevered though until I got to 20%: 2 wolf shifter side characters; the shifter she loved ended up raping her because he was being controlled. The reason this was done? Her father wants to toughen her up because she will likely get kidnapped by another pack and forced to imprint so before someone else can rape her he wants to make her able to endure it. What?! That is fucked up and ridiculous. It makes no sense. After that I couldn’t continue since I just couldn’t wrap my head around that.

3 If You're Not Going To Fit In, You Might As Well Enjoy Standing Out Stars

Wolf Rejected is the first booknin the Paranormal Shifter Romance series, Aurelia's Pack of Misfits by Avery Song.

Alright. This story was very discombobulated. Comparing the jump a few years each chapter pace from the first half of the book, to the second half that focused primarily on one specific time frame, is a fine example of this. There's also the reasoning behind this entire shifting plot, which never seemed to truly and plainly be articulated.

I think this book is in desperate need of a few more editing passes. Maybe ferret some of the run-on sentences, or smooth out the too wild flow of Ms. Song's prose.. Outside of this many factors that demerit this reading experience, I couldn't help finishing this book for the mystery of Aurelia and Ace's hardship held fast to me.

Meeting the true Pack of Misfits near the end of the book was so uplifting for this, nearly entirely, heartbreaking tale. Jack is this enlightening shade of insanity that is so refreshing and adorable when in partnership to Auri's. Quil was smooth and refined, adding this delicious juxtaposition to contrast the overabundance of bumpy character personality already represented. Which could be said the same for King's comforting persona, the very definition of relaxed and composed, with the perfect response and relationship to the varying shades of "not quite right" that make up their newly completed Pack.

I couldn't really feel the connection the author was laying out between Lia and Zane... I felt so entirely content that she had finally found someone she could count on, but secretly suspecting he might be some undercover evil to be later revealed. Thankfully Avery didn't follow my pessimism, and Zane continued to prove his love and worth in Aurelia's life and heart. I am further intrigued to see how he will fit into the Pack with Ace, especially as they continue to face the torment of their attackers and naysayers.

That leaves Ace.... who is essentially 55% of the confusion in this novel. I'm not even truly sure I have a grasp on his character, outside of his continual self sacrifice for his Kittens sake. But then there's the ridiculousness of Lucy's, OUT OF THE BLUE, involvement and some mind controlling behavior that was the true culprit behind a lot of their misfortune. Which makes ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE, since she apparently started her career as an evil mastermind before the age of 10....

Do not read before Willows Forbidden Pack books

I've just finished reading Aurelia's first book and I actually feel like I've read 2 books. The first book/part being a prequel to both Aurelia and Willow's series, and then the 2nd book/ part the first book in Aurelia's Pack of Misfits, however the prequel section was definitely the larger portion.
The reason I say this is the book synopsis talks about Aurelia and the mysterious packs, however, there is no mention of these packs until 55-60% of the way through this book. The first section of the book covers the first 19 years of Aurelia's life, and her interactions with Willow, Onyx, Ace and the coven and sets up the story. The second part of the book picks up the story from when Aurelia is 27 years old and puts us to the time frame when Willow's book is beginning as well. It definitely feels like 2 separate books. However I digress.
If you are looking to read this book but have not yet read Willow's Forbidden Pack first 2 books, I would suggest either reading Willow's books first, or reading Willow's books right afterwards. Despite being 2 different series, these are not stand alone. In fact, Willow's and Aurelia's stories are linked, and are basically 2 different pov's of one story at this point. I found that Aurelia's book filled in a quite a bit of information for Willow's books, and the cliffhanger at the end of Aurelia's first book corresponds with the events at the end of Willow's first books. However, I'd recommend reading Willow's first 2 books first because Aurelia's book mentions a character that wasn't really discussed until Willow's 2nd book. Confusing?
I did enjoy this book. Even though Aurelia is a big part of Willow's story, I discovered through reading this book that there is a lot about Aurelia that hadn't been revealed and information that Willow isn't aware of. It starts with a mystery event, which is gradually revealed throughout the book. I would have liked to have seen more of the misfit pack, but honestly this is really the set up book and it seems book 2 will be where we really get to know them.

I couldn't finish it. This book did not match the description.

I really wanted to like this book, the description piqued my interest, but both Aurelia and the book itself just kept getting on my nerves. First, I hated the way the story was written. If I had known that I would be reading about Aurelia, the little girl, and then the pre-teen for close to 20% of the book I never would have bothered with it. I thought it would start with the childhood trauma and then go to Aurelia, the adult. It just seemed to drag on forever. As for Aurelia the adult, I was disappointed. Somehow she grew up spoiled and ridiculously naive which is strange for a character who suffered such an extreme amount of trauma as a child and had an evil family except for Grandma Valentine. I do not doubt that she would get stronger and at some point become a bad*ss, but her 18-year-old self just kinda ruined it for me. And, even more annoying is that Willow and Onyx are kicking arse while they are YOUNGER than Aurelia. Another problem I had with this book was the "gender" nonsense. These days, people are obsessed with all this gender crap, and reading a book that had that in it was just a turn-off for me. I am fed up with hearing that stuff in the real world, I sure as heck don't want to read about it. It felt like politics had wormed their way into the book. I stopped reading when Aurelia had woken up after almost being SA and was at Ace's place. She was talking with Ace (her fated mate) about whether or not she had a crush on Willow/William and she "blushed" 😒. Rejected or not Ace was still her fated mate, yet she was attracted to a girl who turned into a guy, 🧐. My next issue is that Willow is under 18 which is a big no-no for me. I know this is a different world and all, but whether they ended up doing anything or not, it still doesn't sit right with me. This was one Avery Song book that I just couldn't finish.

Wolf Rejected

Welcome to the World of Aurelia Clementine, she is a powerful hybrid part wolf and part magic user in a world who doesn’t value her uniqueness. Being a hybrid has proven to not only be difficult, but also dangerous. As those in power are trying to eliminate her in her youth and innocence; before she can ever gain her strength and true power.

What those others have actually accomplished, although it was accidental, was to make her stronger and more independent than others her age.

This is a brand new series that is part of the Willow’s Forbidden Pack universe *First book in the series is Wolf Awakened*. Although it’s not required to understand Aurelia’s world and her series; it will definitely increase your experience with this new series. The world building and new characters increased our understanding of Aurelia’s journey up to this moment in time, and also give us in depth information of what is happening behind the scenes.

The men in Aurelia’s life are hunky, crazy, possessive and talented. All the delicious and yummy goodness and hot times your poor abused heart can wish for, our talented author delivered.
But be warned....this book had me ugly crying, laughing like a hyena and wanting to throw my Kindle across the room!

So, don’t miss out on a fantabulous new world and amazing new series. One click this book now. Then find a quiet corner, order a pizza for the fam, because you aren’t going to want to put this book down until you turn the last page.

BTW....Jack is MINE! 🤣🤣🤣 I love crazy!!!

Good

Review
I like to start by saying that this definitely was brilliant at first and I really liked the whole story beforehand. It was hard to meld the ages and the mature conversation especially when the protagonist was 9.
Jumping 8 years from the last traumatic event to how she became who she is now I kind of expected something nutty as what I've got but for some reason I found the dialogue really immature, it was like listening to teenagers that had moments of maturity at times.
At times I felt she was also a bit of an eavesdropper in the first quarter of the book and although it reiterates that things are out of her control it did feel like that her measure of control was completely non existent, this is still shown later in the story at different moments or transferred to other characters so the commonality is used as the theme of the story.
Grammar, spelling, punctuation is good, only once or twice I could say I noted something.
The misfit pack was a bit confusing for me and Aces role as her mate, it would be nice to see all these characters fleshed out in the next book.
Also the explanation of Medusa was very brief and not exactly satisfying for me.
I'm giving it 5 stars because although these were jarring in the story it was a great first book and I think it can only get better.

POV(s): Single*—First Person (FMC)
Relationship: Reverse Harem
Genre(s): Dark Paranormal Romance

Overall: Interesting storyline and characters, but not very cohesive and/or coherent.

Random Thoughts:

➸ Ace’s phone call with Master L was a convenient info-dump.

➸ This was so looooong.

➸ I struggled to follow the logic at times. Why were Natasha and her mate erased from memory?

➸ Underdeveloped magic system. What were the rules and limitations?

➸ Why were literal kids behaving like grown adults?

➸ Why has Aurelia completed ignored the name drop of the Vile Queen?

➸ The synopsis doesn’t really feel like an accurate description for this book.

I found the first half of the book frustrating. The portrait of Aurelia as a weak female turns my stomach. I feel very sorry for Ace. Think that he has been misunderstood and the treatment of him was completely unfair for having to fight for her when he did not leave her of his own accord.
If this was my first book by this writer, I would have not read any more books from her, and that would have been a shame because I love her other books.
I had such great expectations about this book after having read the Willow series, that unfortunately found this plot lacking.
On the Willow series it seems that Aurelia is absent on major moments of her life because she had a lot to contend with, and when you read this book you find out that basically she was having sex with her new boyfriend… or feeling sorry for herself… very disappointing.
Towards the end of the book, the Aurelia we tend to expect is back but she is still unfair to Ace… anyways, lets hope the next book is better.
Again, the male characters envisioned by this writer are absolutely amazing!

This was my first Avery Song book and I am in love! I can honestly say that I laughed, cried and everything in between. There is so much creativity in this story. It does have a longer build than I normally like because I generally get bored easily. However, I was so in to this book and all the details that I was in it to win it. I LOVE the characters. I wish the pack would have made an earlier appearance for Aura but I am so looking forward to book #2 to see how that builds, especially with the ending. I was shocked to find myself not on Team Ace. I am normally such a sucker for the mate life but Zane has my heart and idk if this is turning out to be a RH..? but if it's not, definitely Team Zane. I love that we're starting to see more of Aura's magic and her playing up to her power. I think with her diving more in to her wolf side as well, she is going to be even more powerful and freaking pissed come book #2 and I cannot wait! Will definitely be reading more of Avery's books!!

I kinda didn't finish this

I started to read it and it was ok... If I was a teenager I guess. I got really turned off by the twelve year old witch and her friend William/Willow and Onyx it was like reading about school yard bullies and the story just seemed to keep being geared towards teenagers. I am not saying its bad but it was losing my interest so much I went and read a reverse harem about pilots... That was pretty good, then I came back but after a little more... I put it down and read a poorly written MC romance which I ended up thinking was action packed.... I came back read another chapter and thought... I am really not liking this that much so I decided I should not waste my time reading something that I am not very interested in after several chapters... Over 10% of the book. I would recommend this to teens maybe... But its not for me...

Did not finish, unfortunately.
This 800 page book could have easily been reduced to 300-ish.
The very first chapter left me saying, “huh”? I had to reread every other paragraph to figure out what in the world was happening. No lead in, no details. I was lost, with a capital L.
The first 300 pages were terribly dry and wordy. Pages and pages between speech in conversations. We do not need 300 pages of inner monologue with zero action. Zero.
I want to badly to finish the series, but i feel like i can’t commit more time to inner monologue that goes almost nowhere for chapters on end.
It we could widdle down the inner speech, add a bit more action, and not skip forward years at a time after literally nothing has happened for 100 pages anyways, I’d read more.
Not terrible. Not great. Not finishing…

💚 💛 Wolf Rejected was Awesome 💛💚

Let me just say WOW!! This was an emotional ride and over all a really good book. Now I would recommend that you read Wolf Awakened that’s about her BFF Willow/William De Luca before you read this book. That’s just my opinion because there was a lot of thing you pick up on and the gap was filled from that book to this book. You know with everything Aurelia had to go through she has every right to be crazy because I don’t know how she handled it all. This was one book that showed a shelter girl become more because she had to and was given no other choice. I need more of her pack it was just a taste of them. This is why I cannot wait for book 2 to out. So over all I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait for the next one.

A bit disappointed

This book runs parallel to another series, so I already knew some of the events. I didn't get the shiny new feeling, plus it took 50% of the book before Aurelia became less weak, proclaiming she had had enough of her family yet doing absolutely nothing about it. She has so much badass potential but it's swamped under her crippling self doubt, making her a damsel in need of rescue, when she really does not need help (Jack's craziness loves her craziness after all). I will read the next book purely out of loyalty to the author and hope for a better continuation.

Aurelie's Pack of Misfits, an epic spinoff!

As an avid reader of Avery Song/Stone's books, this is yet another amazing book to not put down in the middle of the night soley on it's being too darn good to put down!
KNowing about Willow and Onix in the Willow's Forbidden pack, it's nice to know about the crazy Ride or Die B**** and how she came to be who she is and her power status.
If y'all wanna know more about the crazy hybrid who's been rejected by manipulating people to finally rise to be a strong, inspiring role-model to the misfits? Then y'all shall not be disappointed in this latest Installment of Wolf Rejected
