When former Navy SEAL Jeff Crockett witnesses an attempted kidnapping of a young girl, he makes a conscious choice to save her. But what he doesn’t realize is how that singular decision will change his life forever. It is the catalyst for a new career and the event that opens the door to love.

What happens to former Navy SEALS when we enter civilian life?
Do we stop serving our country?
Stop giving a damn about the mission we've been trained for?
Stop caring about our fellow Americans who are unable to defend themselves?

When I came face to face with human trafficking, I was forced to answer those questions.
My answer is, and always will be, "HOOYAH!"
I refuse to fail in the fight for freedom, and I am not alone.

I am Jeff Crockett, founder and CEO of Cock Blockers, Inc.
A private securities corporation made up of former SEALS and support team members.
We target for rescue and recovery victims of human trafficking smuggled over the porous southern border.
Our motto: Freedom is the only option.

Our first mission: Find and rescue a loved one of one of our own.

Nina Fox (Foxtrot), Former Targeting Officer for Bravo.

Watching the only man I have ever desired and the man I could not have rescue the little girl I love like my own is the biggest mind-blowing moment of my life. I know I should thank him, but I honestly don’t know if my heart would survive it if this time, without mission restrictions forbidding it, there is nothing more than friendship between us.

He is Ground Zero.

If you love edge of your seat action, mixed with hot steamy romance, involving alpha men and the women that love them, then Heroes For Hire Missions will be your new favorite series.

This book was a great read. It covered action, romance, scares, thrills, adventure and hot sex. I didn’t want to put it down. This book is one of my favorite reads of 2021. I look forward to reading more from Jessika Klide.

Prior to reading Ground Zero, I read all of the Heroes For Hire Romance series. I got the back stories on several of the members of the newly formed Cock Blockers Agency. Lots of great reading there. I am really looking forward to getting to know the rest of the players. The agency is the brain child of former SEAL Jeff Crockett. It's main focus will be combating human trafficking. The teams will be made up of former SEALs, Army pilots and civilian operators with different areas of expertise.

They say timing is everything. Jeff Crockett and Nina Fox's, Aka Cock Rocket and Foxtrot, timing has always been off. They worked together for years so acting on feelings was not in the cards. Now all bets are off! They're both retired. He wastes no time taking what he wants...her. But it's more than that, he wants her for Cock Blockers as a Mission Commander. She's a tad hesitant but not for long. This man has always mesmerized her. Working together without the narrow confines of regulations and loving each other will be a dream come true and fulfill all their wants and needs.

Ground zero is suspenseful, retired military novel. This book doesn’t focus on one couple exclusively but it’s a second chance romance that is entwined with the other characters and a mission storyline. There’s plenty of hot sex, but because it hops around with other characters, you don’t get to know the couple much. We’re told they were in the same Bravo unit when they were in the military and coincidentally, and post discharge from the military the heroine’s niece was being kidnapped while The Hero was out for a jog (an apparently he was packing while out on a run) and he saves the niece from human traffickers. The next day they see each other for the first time since they entered civilian life when are both out jogging in the neighborhood and they don’t talk a lot, but are all over each other and the proceed to have sex at a baseball concession stand, she agrees to work for him and then they are together at his place of business, at the new business he is launching and there more sex, which is mixed in with other characters chapters. For the length of this book, which is short, the author did a good job trying to give us the whole team. I’m intrigued by the stories and characters and looking forward to the continued story.

I applaud this author for her focus on human trafficking an all of the statistics and contact information provided at the beginning of the book. I also enjoyed the SEALS Creed at the beginning of the book.

This is a new to me author.

What a start to a new series!!! In Ground Zero by Jessika Kilde we meet Jeff Crockett who is former military and thwarts an attempted human trafficking kidnapping. From that effort, he decides to start a new business. For some there may be triggers in this book but I love that there is attention being brought to human trafficking. The way Jessika writes shows the emotion and effects of human trafficking but also throws in humor and love all at the same time. I am so excited for the next book!

I have to say that I loved every worrd of this book. This is going to be one heck of an enjoyable series. What do retired military do when protecting their country and fellow citizens runs in their viens? They open a Security company to save people who ate trafficked. I really can't wait to learn more about each and evry character and delve into theirr next mission.
These men and women are badass and fight the good fight. This was well witten and even though it is a serious subject there is enough humor to offset the seriousness but not take away from it. The sex scenes are hot hot hot and are th ij ngs of fantasies, love them.
The story line definitely held my interest along with the interaction of the characters. You take former military with a dddeep sense of duty towards their country and theirrr fellow citizens add in a horrendous crime like human trafficking and you have a winning combination for a great series.
Thank you to the Author.

4 Star review of Ground Zero (Heroes For Hire Missions) by Jessika Klide
Jessika Klide is a relatively new author to me but what I have read I have found entertaining and as I enjoy romantic suspense stories I could not wait to read Ground Zero.
All it takes is one decision to change the course of a person’s life and that is what happens to former Navy Seal, Jeff Crockett who founded a private security company, Cock Blockers, Inc. along with many of his former team mates.
Together they are determined to save those who are the most vulnerable. If you like hot as sin alpha males, then this book is for you. Ground Zero has suspense, danger, intrigue and the growth of a deep and committed love; one that made my heart pound.
When one of their own needs their help, the team jump into action. The romance and chemistry that sizzles between Jeff and Nina was intense and smoking hot.
This was a well written and entertaining story that drew me in and kept me invested.

The original big wooden overhead sign spanning the driveway reads, Welcome to The Chicken Ranch, and swinging underneath it is the new company logo.

Cock Blockers, Inc.

My answer is and always will be "HOOYAH!"

This is a perfect start to a new off shoot series. The characters are quirky and lovable.
Rocket cocky and confident and oh so sexy.

Nina Fox is finally free to pursue Jeff Crockett and she’s going for it big time.

This is a fun sexy second chance adventure.

He is a man that stands out in a crowd. Whether he is wearing fatigues and combat boots or a business suit and tie, he is a stud that oozes hero, and I worship the ground the man walks on.

This is my first book by this author but I can already tell it won’t be my last.

Jeff Crockett (Rocket) and Nina Fox (Foxtrot) maintained distance while serving in the military, even though they had chemistry. Fast forward to both of them being civilian and Rocket saving Nina’s niece from a daylight kidnapping using his unique skills learned in the military. Rocket forms the idea to establish a business where his military skills save young women from human trafficking.

Within weeks of forming the business and enlisting all the former military recruits, the company, Cock Blockers is tasked with saving a family member of one of their own. Their uniques skills and special ops training help them save several young ladies and expose more dark secrets about trafficking and the people used to recruit women.

I loved the Rocket/Foxtrot chemistry, and the story is pretty action packed so it moves along quickly.

Great start to a new series.
The storyline is very realistic to true life sadly, but the author did a great job of bringing in some of her humour, and quirky one liners, loved how all the character's from previous books ,just seemed to fit right in with the story.
Rocket and foxtrot yearned for each other for year's and only now can they be together, in this new work venture, when Crocket opens Cock Blockers , a covert task force. Loved the chemistry between the two of them. A fast paced hot as Hades story.
Great reading.

This book starts with full on action that demands your full attention! It grabs you in the first sentence and doesn’t let you go.
What an amazing start to a new series!
These men that are known as The Cockblockers are the true heroes, saving innocents and putting themselves in danger and on the line to save someone who would be lost forever. That is their life, trying to put a stop to the Human trafficking ring.

Jeff Crocket is all alpha! He knows exactly what he wants and is prepared to sit and wait until he can get what he wants. He’s a patient man but has his eyes on the prize until he can claim Nina as his own.

Nina fox - an old team member from years past but Crocket never forgot her and she never knew He loved her in secret and years later when their paths meet again he is determined to make his feelings know.
I loved this introduction to a brand new series, it had my full attention and I loved Jeff and Ninas chemistry!

Ground Zero is a good read. Jeff Crockett is a former Navy Seal who starts a private security company called Cock Blockers Inc with his ex-team members. Yeah, I might have giggled a little at the name of the company. At the very beginning of the book, we get all the team members and a little description of them, they are quite a few team members and I was a little overwhelmed by this information but when reading the team members were introduced nicely and I wasn't confused. Crockett is all alpha. He goes after what he wants. He has liked Nina for a while but they were on the same team so he didn't cross that line. Now that they are both out of the military he's ready to claim her. Nina has liked Crockett to so when they met up there is great hot chemistry. I was drawn in by Crockett and Nina's story but also enjoyed the other member of Cock Blockers Inc. This one has action and romance that will keep you turning the pages.

Holy book boyfriend, Batman! Jessika Klide’s first book in her new series, Heroes for Hire Missions, Ground Zero, stars Jeff Crocket, a former Navy SEAL. He exudes manliness, hotness and he doesn’t waste a drop of it when he is finally able to go after the woman he wants.
🐓
Jeff and Nina re-meet when their worlds collide after Jeff interrupts an attempted kidnapping. What follows is his creation and assembly of kick-butt operatives who will help stop and recover victims of human trafficking.
🐓
Right away the reader is in the story from page one. The way that Jessika Klide writes makes you feel like you’re a part of Jeff as he’s making these life-saving decisions.
🐓
Jessika Klide takes a serious topic, sheds light on it, and writes with compassion, love, and humor.
🐓
A lot of the characters in this story are in previous books written by Jessika Klide. I am looking forward to more books in this series.

Jessika Klide is a new author for me so I had no preconceived ideas on her writing style, world-building, or character portrayal which made this first book in a new series all that much more exciting to me. If you've read the blurb then you know these are former Navy SEALS who have refused to fail in the fight for freedom. As a matter of fact, the motto of their business is: "Freedom is the Only Option." This is such an action-packed, drama-filled, adrenaline-pumping, chemistry-building storyline. Jessika Klide not only has found herself another reader because of her book but should be commended for bringing such a bright light to a situation that is such a blight on society. Not only has she researched and added pertinent, realistic information about human trafficking but there are ways to contact someone for help or information. I'm hooked and intend to follow this series through to the end.

Jessika Klide is a fairly new author to me but the few books I have read have always been entertaining and have always had strong writing with strong characters you can relate too. Ground Zero is a romantic suspense featuring ex Navy Seal, Jeff Crockett.
Jeff has started a private security company with some of his former team mates, Cock Blockers is there to protect those who find themselves in vulnerable situations and this group of hot, alpha males are determined to protect those who need their services.
Ground Zero has the perfect mix of , mystery, intrigue, passion and danger, it captivated me from the first chapter and it had me on the edge of my seat until the final page. Jeff and Nina shared some intense, sizzling chemistry and I loved how Jeff wasn’t afraid to prove how committed he was to their romance. If you love romantic suspense, Ground Zero should certainly be on your radar.

Love this series!! I am hooked on all of the Heroes in this series and I will impatiently wait for each of their books. I have loved Jessika's work since the beginning, and I love the direction and message that she is putting out with each book she releases. I love that Rocket and Foxtrot finally were able to act on their feelings and finally claim the love that they both deserve. Their love story just adds to the B.A. dynamic of the C*ck Blockers, Inc team. This team of elite soldiers is just what people need, bustin in and saving the innocents that are in danger. I loved catching up with the characters from Jessika's previous reads. This is an Amazing Book and is shaping up to be an Amazing Series!! Definitely worth the One-Click!!

Oh Shit! This was so good!

I won't spoil it for those who haven't already read it!!!
But... There is lots of hot sex, sit on the edge of your seat drama, and the author has created realistic characters you can embrace and live through!
Now that being said the story hits hard and fast. The main male is Rocket and hes the leader of a special ops group he started with his former team mates. His mission is to help eliminate the evil from human trafficking. With the help of his crew and the love of his life Foxtrot they take on the impossible and bring home the victims.

I really liked the addition of characters from other books in this novel. The idea of an agency that helps those who most need it is wonderful. I would have preferred a longer introduction to the agency but the story was still good. It did feel like it was less about Jeff and Nina and more about the group. However, Jeff and Nina do have some super steamy scenes. Hopefully, character updates will continue in future books.

Ground Zero has it all-action, romance, suspense and lots of heat! After being in the right place at the right time and witnessing an attempted sex trafficking kidnapping, Jeff Crockett (former Navy SEAL) knew just what to do. He created a team of former military colleagues (including some badass K9s) to help other families that have fallen victim to these predators. And as if their action-packed mission isn’t enough of an amazing storyline, Jessica has also woven in the reunion of Rocket and his formerly off limits object of desire, Nina Fox.

This is a quick, can’t put it down read with charismatic heroes working together like real life superheroes with so much passion interspersed. Jessica did a fantastic job bringing to light the ongoing problem of sex trafficking. I can’t wait to continue reading this series to follow this great cast of characters along their journey.

Disappointing

I really wanted to like this book but it was disappointing. For starters it felt more like a novella in the middle of an existing series rather than the start of one. That didn't bother me as much as the stilted writing. I can't stand it when conversations don't have the proper amount of contractions used. Too many "we will not" instead of we won't, "they will go get set up" instead of they'll. It just came off as poorly edited, needed another proofreading pass as well. I couldn't connect with the two main characters and their relationship felt forced and the chemistry contrived - their love scenes were just uncomfortable instead of exciting. All in all, I was really looking forward to this series but I doubt I'll move on to the next installment.

My first book by this author and it was a no holds barred kind of book. Rocket see’s a real need for a group to take down human traffickers and starts his own called Cock Blockers.

What did I like? I’ll admit it was a cute idea... cock blockers of human trafficking. It has merit! The writing was the hardest part for me with all the military jargon and two dimensional fight scenes. All very quick. I like a more fleshed out manner, and more detail less factual.

Would I recommend or buy? That’s a tough one, I’m not sure I’d continue the series. This was my first by this author and it was a cute idea but I’m not sure this really appeals to me. I took an ARC on a hope I’d like the author but the genre didn’t appeal to me.

Thanks for an ARC to read and I voluntarily left a review.
