Cutie the Cop has a problem…and it’s not just the nickname his famous and slightly offbeat new friend Austin has given him.

Gideon, aka Cutie the Cop, knows there’s more to life than just going from work to home, but he can’t get past the fears that are holding him back. As a cop with secrets, he knows he can’t share who he is or what he wants with just anyone. But when Austin drags him to a private BDSM club for the first time, he finally has a decision to make…continue to hide or take a chance on falling in love.

Knowing his fated mate is out there somewhere isn’t much consolation for an alpha Daddy who’s never been what most omegas are looking for. However, when a shy submissive is thrust into Jarrett’s arms during an altercation at the club, he knows things have finally turned around…but only if he can convince the small, bashful alpha that he’s worthy of his trust.

Sometimes secrets can drive people apart, but sometimes sharing those secrets is what can bring them together.

Story Contains: M/m romantic content, BDSM elements, age play with ABDL, and non-shifter alpha/alpha dynamics in an alpha/omega world.

Love & Secrets is a spin-off series from my Romance & Revolutions (alphas and omegas) series under the Shaw Montgomery side of my writing. The best way to enjoy the new series is to read them after reading the Romance & Revolutions books. My omegas are feisty and funny, and if you haven’t read about those guys, you’re missing out.

I'm a big M.A. Innes fan, but this book confused the heck out of me!

I know this is a spin-off and I didn't read the original series, but that had nothing to do with what I found confusing.

Somehow the dialogue didn't make a lot of sense.

When these guys first meet there is something going on in the club downstairs and I couldn't figure out what. Suddenly Jarrett is offering to take Gideon home but they're talking as if they just entered a BDSM contract together. What the heck did I miss? Is 'taking someone home' code for something these days? Am I that old? Am I not aware of the lingo these days?

MA Innes' Bashful is a fabulous age play romance. I love everything about this MA Innes read. Granted, I am always giddy to read age play, and no one does it better.

Cutie the Cop. I adore this nickname that Austin bestowed upon Gideon before knowing his name. It's fabulous.

This is the story of Gideon and Jarrett. I love the complexities of these men. Gideon is nothing like the typical Alpha. With the help of Jarrett, Gideon discovers and embraces his little side. And what a fun ride it is!

Oh, how I love these men. Jarrett is the perfect Daddy dom, willing to help Gideon figure out what works for him. The transformation for Gideon into his little side is fantastic. I love seeing him forget about his worries and embrace his carefree side.

These are two men who complement one another perfectly. What one needs, the other desires to offer. I couldn't ask for a better couple.

This is a tale with a BDSM club and some great ABDL moments. I love that dynamics of these two, as the alpha is the submissive.

As I've come to expect from this author, the characters are charming and wonderfully developed. The age play is front and center and absolutely amazing. I love the way this author writes age play romances and couldn't ask for anything more.

This series is a spin off of Shaw Montgomery's Romance and Revolutions series. It's easily read as a standalone, but I highly recommend you read the other series just because it's so damn good.

Bashful is a must read for anyone looking for an age play romance. MA Innes is a master at this trope and this is another fabulous addition to MA's catalog. I can't wait to see what else develops in this series.

Bashful is the first book in the Love and Secrets by M.A. Innes. Bashful is about Gideon, aka Cutie the cop and Jarrett. I loved their story so so much. Their story was sweet, sexy, hot, fun and very well written. It was amazing.

I did enjoy this book, especially because there were so many amazing tropes in it. But it was far from perfect.

- omegaverse
- alpha/alpha
- BDSM
- dom/sub daddy/boy
- knotting
- hurt/comfort

Don’t get me wrong when I say that the potential was there, the execution, on the other hand, left much to be desired.

Okay, I might be exaggerating. I mean, I did say I enjoyed the book. The thing is though, both the omegaverse aspect as well as the BDSM/age play have very big roles in the plot and both elements felt unbalanced. There were chapters and dialogues between the characters that only focused on one or the other. The two elements were never an issue together, only separately. That bothered me a bit.

There were other elements, such as the issue on how alphas and omegas should be and are viewed by society, that felt unresolved and cast aside at the end of the book.

All that said and pointed out, the plot and characters were good. Sure, it got a bit boring in the last third of the book and the characters were pretty basic considering that they had the same design as all the other daddies and boys M.A. Innes has created, but on the whole the book really wasn’t too bad.

I loved this age play story right from the start.

It was great seeing Austin and Silas again. Austin is still as cheeky and wild as ever. He is intent on helping Gideon, his new super shy cop friend expand his horizons.

Gideon meets Jarrett, who volunteers at the club, when Austin takes him there. I liked Jarrett right away. He a romantic Daddy Dom that is perfect for Gideon.

Gideon was so sweet. He is cautious and vulnerable. I enjoyed all his firsts with his Daddy. Together they make an adorable couple. There was just the right amount of sweet and sexy. It was fun and entertaining.

Cutie the Cop showed up as a character in the Romance & Revolutions series. Austin enjoyed making the shy man blush and stammer in that series, and he was still doing that here, always with the best (in his opinion) of intentions.
Cutie turned out to be Gideon, an alpha who was more like the stereotypical omega in his wants and needs. Gideon was as sweet and funny as any of this author's characters. The fact that Austin was his only role model in the world of kink made me cringe at times and laugh out loud at others. I loved how Austin pushed and prodded at Gideon, almost like a proud parent.
Jarrett was the big strong alpha daddy dom who instantly fell for Gideon. Jarrett was a wonderful caretaker who encouraged his new boy to figure out what would make him happy in life. I loved seeing how easily Gideon embraced being a little. He had enough stress in his life, so I was glad he didn't worry over this new role. The way Jarrett made Gideon realize that the things he'd always seen as flaws in himself, actually matched up perfectly with Jarrett's needs, was sweet. I just loved these two from the beginning.
I look forward to more from this spin-off series, which promises to be as good as the original. The author's characters never fail to draw me in, and I'm always ready to spend more time with them. I'm excited to see what happens next with the club and the established couples, while also falling for even more wonderful characters in this world.

2.5⭐️

This was an OK read with MC's that had great, open communication. But my problem with it was it was a bit too long and, there wasn't a lot of plot. It is a fine line to tread while writing a romance book, too much drama or too much romance or too little and it gets boring. I think this book was boring for me.

Je me suis moqué.

Hot, Dom Daddy

First and best thing about this book—Daddy was not afraid to be overtly turned on by Boy being little. This book was unapologetic about the Daddy liking his Boy crawling, sucking, and using his diaper, not just because it was right for the Boy but because it turned Daddy on.

This aspect is missing in almost age play books; I think, because authors are scared to cross the line even further into what the uneducated could see as pedophilia. We usually see a lot about what turns a Boy on but the Daddy’s needs are sterile, refocused into the Boy being adult, or always a byproduct of the Boy’s sexual needs.

This is one of only two that I’ve read that let Daddy enjoy the sexiness of what clearly turns Daddies into age play—or at least one aspect not often talked about in most books.

This is a five star read for this reason alone.

My two issues with the book are that Gideon is a completely different character with Austin than with his Daddy—it was like reading about two different characters and was jarring. Second it was way too hard sometimes to figure out who’s perspective I was in. It shouldn’t have been, but it was oftentimes confusing. The scene in the restaurant and the epilogue before they got home are two examples. Clearly these weren’t enough to downgrade the book from 5 to 4 stars just an observation.

I’ll also mention that you don’t have to read the main series to enjoy the spin-off but it will smooth things out a bit. I didn’t actually like the main series and only took a chance on this because I love the author’s age play books. Thankfully I understood the basics of this world but you don’t have to to enjoy the book. I do think Austin was from the other series so if you liked his character he has a good arc in this book. I actually didn’t like his character at all and hope to see less of him in future books...but since he owns the club I think he’ll be back.

I’ve read so many kinky books at this point that a book centred around two people exploring a kink together on it’s own isn’t necessarily enough anymore unless it’s about a kink I’m not very familiar with. I think this one had a little bit more going on though so I was interested enough to keep reading and see where it went. What initially intrigued me was the fact that the two main characters are alphas which I always think is interesting since it goes against the status quo for omegaverse, but it actually wasn’t as taboo in this book. It was more taboo for the main character because of how he was raised, but everyone he knows (except his parents) is okay with it so there wasn’t any pushback necessarily from society. There was some conversation on what it means to be an “alpha” which could be translated to what it means to be a “man” so I thought that was cool. Gideon also had some issues related to his body image and self-esteem that he needed to work through which added another layer to this. There is also a lot of communication about what they are both comfortable with, safewords and their feelings which was great (although sometimes it did feel like there was too much talking). My only real complaint would be the relationship moved very fast so I couldn’t really feel the tension between them. It just felt like a lot of fluff, which is great but I can’t do a whole novel of just fluff. I wish there was a bit more conflict or introspection from the characters.

Overall, there was enough to keep me reading and I did enjoy some of the scenes, but it wasn’t groundbreaking so I’d say it’s a solid read. It might be enjoyed more by someone newer to the kink. I wanted just a little bit more depth.

Nope. This one didn't work for me AT ALL.

First off when it comes to informed consent and limit lists this book gets an F. The first 15 chapters are all about the Dom/Daddy going at it as if he already knew everything there was to know about his new sub/boy to the point I was creeped out and even more so how the sub/boy acted as if yes, DaddyDom OBVIOUSLY knows everything.

Now particularly about the book, the plot is all over the place. Cutie the Cop is only a cop to get the nickname because in NO MOMENT we read him being an actual cop. There's mention of a sub plot wanna be regarding 18+ shops and clubs that could involve him as a cop but it goes nowhere.

The Daddy is a creep. Going a 100 on not even the first date but first meet and then talking about taking things slow. He mentions a lot about Guideon's cop side but HE'S NEVER SEEN IT, WE'VE NEVER SEEN IT and dude JUST MET HIM. He describes Guideon as "blushing purple" people DON'T BLUSH PURPLE! THAT'S A LACK OF OXYGEN! And the spewing lines... gah! "what do you think I'd saty?" *Guideon proceeds to clearly state like 6 points on what makes Jarret such a wonderful DaddyDom.... WHEN THEY JUST MET AND JUST STARTED A DYNAMIC.

And WHY DOES GUIDEON GIGGLE EVERY TIME? Doesn't he laugh or cackle or smirk or snort?! How am I supposed to take him as ANYTHING but a dimwit when ALL HE DOES IS GIGGLE or be uselessly shy?!

I think this is more a rant than a review... I just... had to force myself to finish this and that's just sad. I try to give a new author (for me) a good run, be fair, but I don't think I can read another. This was just bad.

Gideon has been nicknamed Cutie the Cop by his new friend Austin and he knows that there is more to life than work and being at home to sleep. But he can't share what he is and wants with just anyone but when Austin drags him to a private BSDM club he has a decision to make - continue to hide or take a chance and hope he can find love. Jarrett knows that his fated mate is out there but that doesn't help the alpha Daddy who is never what most omegas are looking for. When a shy submissive is thrust into his arms during an altercation at the club he knows that things have turned around but he needs to convince the small, bashful alpha that he is worthy of his trust. Sometimes secrets can drive people apart, but sometimes sharing those secrets is what can bring them together.

I really enjoyed this story with shy Gideon being so brave and taking a chance for happiness with a little help and interference from Austin. Jarrett was the right mixture of gentle and encouraging as well as fierce and strong. I loved the gentle way that their relationship started and developed as they got to know each other. It was great to see how easy it was for Gideon to slip into his little so that he could destress after his work day. Easy to read, feel and understand it was great to be able to really empathise with the characters and their emotions, hopes and dreams. This is an MM story containing mature content in a BSDM-like DDLB-like dynamic set in the omegaverse with some ABDL (diapers).

Loved it so much.

First off On My God! Gideon aka Cutie is the most adorable alpha going and I want to hug him, squish him and and awwww.
This is the first book in the spin off series following the Romance and Revolutions series and although you don't have to have read that series, I believe that to understand the A/B/O World that two series inhibit them I would start with book one Tanner.

Jarrett is the caretaker Daddy at Austin and co's club ( read the first series) keeping an eye on all the littles that come in, but what he really wants is a boy of his own. When Jarrett and Gideon meet for the first time sparks fly and although Gideon is nervous Jarrett makes him feel safe. These characters are the sweetest together and Jarrett's love and attention gives Gideon the self esteem boost that he needs to discover what he wants. This is a read that is so worth it.

Sweet and sexy mm romance

Age play is not a kink that I am into but I love reading stories about it, especially those written by M. A. Innes. This book about two Alphas who find each other is a perfect example. Even in the genre of Alpha/omega worlds Innes finds ways to shake things up. By presenting Gideon as an Alpha cop who is a far from typical Alpha and who has medical issues Innes brings up many of the issues that people in our reality have with being atypical. I really enjoyed this book and if you want a low angst story about people who are different then I think that you might like this too. I especially loved the ending but you will have to read it yourself as I’m not giving things away.

Gideon "Cutie the cop" caught Austin's attention when he and other cops showed up to give Silas problems. Austin starts to try and befriend Gideon which makes for a lot of interesting conversations between the two. Austin introduces Gideon to Jarrett, who takes Gideon under his wings and starts to introduce him to the Daddy/Boy relationship.

Cutie the cop was adorable and such a fun character to read. It was great to finally get his story, after seeing him pop up in a couple other books. He is definitely trying to overcome his past and Jarrett does a great job of helping him overcome his issues. I would love to have a short story that deals with a conversation between Gideon and his brothers. Such a great story, I'm ready for more stories in this world.

A great start to the spin-off series

If you didn't know, this is a spinoff of the Romance and Revolutions series under the author's other pen name Shaw Montgomery. It's set in the Omegaverse but a kinda skewed version than most readers would be familiar with. And if you're not familiar with Omegaverse books, I wouldn't start with these. They confused even me in the beginning and I've read a lot of them.

As to the book itself, it was great. I was familiar with both characters from the other series and was thrilled when I realized it was cutie the cop who we now know as Gideon. Jarrett was this gentle giant and they were perfect together. I did think Gideon regressing so easily and so fast was kinda weird.

This book is set in the Romance and Revolutions universe and is a perfect gem of a story. Gideon, the cop from Austin's book, is a shy alpha who has befriended the crazy omega. When Austin takes him to his club, Gideon meets Jarret, another alpha who daddies all the lone littles in the playroom.
Their attraction is instantaneous. Gideon finds himself a gentle, patient alpha.
Austin couldn't be any smugger.
No one does daddy kink better than M A Innes/Shaw Montgomery. An instant buy whenever I see their names.

“Will you come on me, Daddy?” That sweet, wonderfully naughty question was all it took to have my orgasm bursting through me. As cum shot out of my cock, Gideon’s eyes widened again and he quickly aimed it at his chest like I was some kind of water gun he was playing with.
If I had to read the word "giggle", in any tense, one more time I was going to vomit.

This was super sweet, super consenting, kinda hot but didn't quite go as hard as some reviews lead me to believe it would.

Sexual age-play but not very dirty :/

perfection

When your designation and your personality are at war and all your life you’ve had to hide, what do you do? Let Austin lead you to a space where you’ll find safety and freedom. Bashful sweet Gideon needs the right person to feel safe enough to explore what, for him, has always been controversial issues on who and what he is. Follow his journey of discovery and acceptance of who he is instead of what he is. Story does have mention of role playing, submission, alpha/omega roles (non-shifters), bdsm, and a great introduction to ABDL.

Who loves a good Daddy book__ (hand up waving)

And this is a good one. I love a book that shows that no matter what goes on in your life there is someone for you. Daddy kink in this book it great because I like its a slow journey into discovering what floats each others boats. Be it diapers Jimmy's or spankings. The characters are a match and Austin needs spanked more the little busy body

Lovely, sweet, and a great take

I adore every book I’ve read by MA Innes (and I’m pretty sure I’ve read them all). This book was just so good. Bashful is the first book in a spin-off of the Romance and Revolutions series. Gideon (aka the Cutie Cop) and Jarrett are just so sweet together. I’m completely enamored of the mix of Omegaverse and DD/lb kink that Innes wove in this novel.

This book was amazing. Daddy Jarrett and Cutie Cop (aka Gideon) were gosh darn adorable!!! I don’t typically enjoy reading ABDL in my Daddy kink, but there are a few MM authors who write this well and M.A. Innes is one of them. Of course I have to mention Austin. He is such a wonderful side character. I loved how he was a good friend and someone Gideon could turn to for questions. I didn’t read the Romance and Revolutions series, but I did skim a few of the books. So I had an idea about this world, the characters from that series, and the club. I bet you’d get the most enjoyment from reading that series before this book, but if you don’t want to I think you can still enjoy this book. I did. All in all, this book gave me all the sweet good feel vibes.

Mixed feelings

As much as I enjoy M.A. Innes and Shaw Montgomery, age play isn't really my thing. I fell in love with Austin and his friends and was so excited to read about Cutie the Cop and for the most part, I enjoyed the book. However, because age play isn't my thing the scenes with that dragged, and there are A LOT of age play scenes. Still, over all I had fun and the ending was perfect. I'm looking forwardto the next in the series.

My heart melted!!

Oh, the sweetness!!! My heart couldn't contain it all. I've been struggling lately, trying to find an age play book with a combination of...something. This was perfect!! It had everything I have been looking for. Gideon and Jarrett are loving, sweet and understanding of each other. Gideon and his inner monologues had me.cracking up. Jarrett is such a patient Daddy Dom and possessively loves teaching his boy and opening up a whole new world. I need more!!! 💜

Gideon is such a cute, innocent, boy who doesn't know what he is missing. Jarrett has been searching for a boy to call his own. These two are fantastic together and compliment each other well.

I had fun reading about them and how they get together. Jarrett helps Gideon relax and let his stress go. He makes him feel loved and accepted.

This is a wonderfully sweet story with interesting characters that you want to see get everything they need.

Enjoyed

I enjoyed this story. I am not always a fan of M.A. Innes. I most often find the books too instalove and the characters a bit flat. Bit I enjoyed how sweet the age play was in this and that they dove into exploring it. Even though Gideon was new to things, he embraced his Little side and was the cutest. This story also had some wonderfully sexy moments that I appreciated. Glad I gave this book a try.

I thought this book would never end...

I’m such a huge fan and I eagerly await every new novel that’s out however this entire story line should have been scraped. You don’t understand. I don’t even bother reading the basic storyline before I select this book. The author name alone secures my purchase. So forcing myself to finish reading this book kinda feels like this was a betrayal. So disappointed

Perfect age play

Another great read from M.A.Innes. The Characters were interesting, I enjoyed getting to know them as they explored the (ABDL) kink. I especially liked that there was no weird drama to take up space in the story. My only complaint is that I would have liked the book to be twice as long. M. A.Innes is a master of her craft, if you’ll like ABDL, she is the best writer out there. All of her books are very well written, and enjoyable to read. Loved it!

Not my cup of tea with the omega/alpha storyline. I know it is a work of fiction but not into fantasy which is what the vampire/werewolf/shifter/omega/alpha books are to me. Didn't read past the first few pages when I realized where the storyline and characters were going. Wish there had been something in the preview of this book to give more of an idea the characters and storyline fell into the omega/alpha genre.
