Trust #1

Blind Trust

Rate this book
Whom do you trust when you can't trust yourself?

Following a violent and traumatic incident in the sea, a strong-willed woman wakes not knowing who she is or where she came from. Recalling only her near-death experience and the stranger that rescued her, she must focus on healing and remembering the life she once lived.

Suffering brutal nightmares and horrific flashbacks, she clings to Alex, the wealthy businessman that rescued her from the water. Making the decision to move forward, she opens herself up to the idea of starting over on the island with Alex.

While his protective and caring nature comforts her insecurities, her troubled heart is a different story. Are the horrible nightmares really memories trying to resurface? While memories start to re-emerge and their relationship is rocked, she tries to figure out how to reclaim her past and keep what she’s found with Alex.

While “Blind Trust” focuses on the tale of a woman’s escape from human trafficking, there is a beauty and growth in the character’s painful past. The ability to pick yourself up and focus on the future after a traumatic past is awe-inspiring and inspirational.

Great read! First book in a month or so to really drag me in with a good plot! I wasn't mad at the end, b/c I was left on a cliff hanger until the next one comes out, but I'm really looking forward to the next in the series to see what happens next!!!

Exceptional read! It opens with high energy/suspense that drew me in from the first page. This is followed by really good set up and character development, all the while building a beautiful story full of intrigue and mystery. The author really made me connect with multiple characters and I found myself pulling for all of them. The story builds very nicely and the author did an excellent job of placing me in the action and suspense of the climax and ending. The overall issue or theme that the novel focuses on is also very poignant and valid in our time. It is an issue that needs increased awareness and action. I can’t recommend this novel enough. I’m very impressed with this debut author and look forward to reading her future work!

What a crazy read!

This book jumped right into the story with no slowing down. When first starting this, I immediately wanted to question everyone and suspect everyone as having a reason to not trust them, because I am a cautious person by nature. It seems that our main character 'Sophie' did that as well.

A young woman, pulled out of the water and saved from drowning. She is taken to a beautiful island and cared for as she recovers from this traumatic event. However, with no memories, she finds it hard to know who she is and who around her she can trust. As she starts having nightmares that seem more like memories, she fears what they might tell her about what really happened.

I cannot even imagine how I would feel if I woke up in a strange place, with no memories of what happened and how I got there. I would be terrified. This book does a good job of expressing how our main character tried to adjust to her surroundings, while still waiting to find out the truth about her life.

My only complaint is that I wish this book was longer to give more details and to make it feel as though it took place over the whole time frame it was written for.

This is the first book in The Trust Series, a mystery thriller. The story is told from the heroine's POV. The characters are well developed, and intriguing. This story is unique, and the storyline is captivating. I liked the mystery, and the twists and turns. Taylor Joree Scorse did a great job bringing this story to life. She has a beautiful voice. Looking forward to listening to Broken Trust, the next book in the series.

Blind Trust pulled me in from the very first page. It’s not just a story of survival but of courage, resilience, and the fragile beauty of starting over after trauma. The way the author explored memory, healing, and trust made me feel every moment with the main character. I found myself rooting for her, hurting with her, and celebrating her strength. This is one of those books that lingers in your heart long after you’ve finished it. Absolutely unforgettable.

Absolutely enthralled with this story. I wasn’t sure what to expect and it completely knocked my socks off. I have never read a story like this one! I did not put it down once I started reading! I did not see the twist coming in this story at all. Beautifully written and I cannot wait to dive into part two of this series!!

Audiobook: This was my first experience with this author's work, and the story was riveting. I felt for the protagonist who woke up with amnesia and suffered from horrible nightmares. The author created a realistic portrait of a woman suffering from an ordeal which no one would ever want to experience. I liked how the details of the woman's past slowly unfolded. I thought Taylor Joree Scorse's narration was great, and her performance kept my attention. I was given a copy of the audiobook. I volunteered, without financial gain, to post this review which reflected my honest opinions regarding this audiobook.

This is a really well written story, but it is tough material. It shows a dark side of our world that includes human trafficking. While the writing isn’t terribly graphic, it does include the unfortunate abuse that comes along with kidnapping and human trafficking. It’s difficult to say more without giving away plot tips. The author does a good job of presenting a victim of human trafficking who gets free and is rescued. The story has some plot twists, and was a good read. However, it is not a book that is necessarily going to leave anyone with a warm, fuzzy feeling regardless of the ending.

Being an enthusiastic reader myself, I’ve always looked forward to the moment I could open a new book and immerse myself in a gripping story. Anticipation would run through me at the suspense of not knowing how the story would end. Lately, my selection of books weren’t bringing out the emotions I craved. I needed suspense. I wanted romance. I hungered for twists and turns. So, I decided to write one. That is how Blind Trust was born. I yearned to write a book that, I myself, would love. A book that would leave me reeling for days after, along with the hope that the story would not only bring entertainment, but awareness to the harsh realities we face in our world today. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did writing it.
All my love,

Rescued from the sea with no memory of the accident or any of her former life, our heroine is allowed to recover on a remote island under the care of a wealthy businessman.

But, everything is not exactly as it seems...

A gripping plot that slowly reveals the truth as it races to an exciting climax

This is one of those books that draws you in and keeps you hooked right to the end
