C.R. Payne is a black homicide detective in Atlanta. Or, rather, he was before he got booted to airport detail after a politically toxic move on his part. Then he works his way up to boonies under cover work and there happens on a murder that isn't routine. This is my first Coram and I think I'd better go dig out his others. His protagonist is not entirely likeable but intriguing enough that I sure want some more.

Not awful, a quick read and I liked the main character.
