Oh.. Interesting, right? My Honey Xianxia Romance read ! lol
Love When The Stars Fall is a xianxia romance alongside Heavy Sweetness Ash-Like Frost and be the third part of 'Honey Trilogy' which was published on 2020. First, let's me tell you about the world-building of this lovely book.
"Xianxia world of this series from what I understand...
Heaven and Earth divided into four kingdoms: God, Devil, Man, and Demon. The Milky way in the Heaven, the Yellow River in the Earth, the Forgotten River of the demon, and the Nai river of the demon are the most famous sceneries among the four realms"
OK! For our western readers. If you don't understand, I will explain and compare so that you can see the picture. To me, the world-building of this series if compare to the Western Term, it will be Fairy High-Fantasy Romance.
And in this book, you will meet "Rainbow Palace" Wow w.. maybe similar to a palace in Summer Court? Idk lol!
HA! Let's meet our cute heroine, first "Ye Tan". I love this chick! She's naughty, snarky, sarcastic, tiny girl ! Not your typical 傻白甜 (shǎ bái tián heroine) that I mostly found in xianxia diànshìjù and I'm so relieved, guys !
She accidentally god bless married with an Heavenly-Handsome Prince "Xuan Shangjun". These two always bicker!! lol! They seem to hate each other so much that they about to kill each other like crazy!
And there's another romance or "secondary couple" AKA. Her sister "Qing Kui", her sweetie goody-two shoes big sis-princess. As you can guess... Wow! why you're this genius!!? HAHAHA. Right! She switched to marry with the third Demon Prince, instead! *Squeeeeze!*
To me, I'm more enjoy reading Ye Tan's adventurous romance in the heaven a lot than Qing Kui's part. Maybe because she's funny character. "Princess feed Donkey!" and this evil-naughty girl even eat Hot Pot in heaven! !! Yesss you heard that right? HOT POT! HAHAHA!
And.. there is a weird horse! a little tiger! and that Naga Clan! which I think is a snake/serpent clan kind of thing.
🌸 And what's more funny? My favorite scene 🌸
Ye Tan is punished by Xuan Shangjun. She must copy the women rules. But No! this girl is cunning hah.. She asked Bidome fairy to copy books of women rules for her. 30 freaking' books, but it appears that each book have different hand writing ! How can a person has different hand writng, right? She spins this boy's lofty head, but alas he knows! HAHAHA! How idiot this Bidome fairy is! *poor Tan Tan*
OK, enough for my note. The book is an easy-going read. But, I'm sure a lot of fun will happen on the screen! See ya!["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
星落凝成糖 [Love When The Stars Fall] is third in "Honey Trilogy" by 一度君华 which ended at Chapter 316 in 2020.
Mortal Realm sees the birth of a pair of twins to the Emperor. The eldest princess’ birth was followed by predictions of how she'd go on to bring great fortune to the mortals while the youngest princess was criticised by the mass. Many claimed that, unlike her sister, the youngest princess would be the harbinger of doom to them. While everyone doted on Princess Qing Kui, Princess Ye Tan was ignored. She was pushed away to an isolated courtyard and had to bear the harsh taunts from palace maids as well as her own father. Ye Tan seemed to have accepted her fate, becoming rebellious and free-spirited. Despite the difference in their treatment, the two sisters where closest to each other. Ye Tan became a protective wall infront of her kind-hearted sister and Qing Kui silently helped her sister against their father's wrath.
Qing Kui had been betrothed to marry Shao Dian You Qin, the crown prince of the heavenly realm for quite some time now, but he misunderstands Ye Tan to be Qing Kui on his visit to the palace of the emperor of mortals. He's visibly displeased when he finds that the gentle princess he's heard so much about turned out to be anything but. Nonetheless, Ye Tan never clarifies her identity and wants to use Shao Dian You Qin’s identity to help her fix her troubles - he's her future brother-in-law afterall!
Unfortunately for Ye Tan, a marriage proposal arrives from the demon realm for the youngest princess. On the day when sisters were to climb the marriage sedan, the brides are swapped amidst a battle between the rival realms. Ye Tan enters the heavenly realm while innocent Qing Kui, to her shock, is in the fearsome demon realm!
•• I lived for the bickering between Ye Tan and Shou Dian You Qin. Those moments where poor Shou Dian is trying his best to make troublemaker Ye Tan a graceful empyrean was the highlight of my read.
•• Qing Kui own adventures in the other realm with third prince, Chao Feng was quite amusing as well. It was great seeing how Qing Kui won hearts in the demon realm with her kindness. We see her coming out of her shell of perfection as she becomes brave to defend those she cares about.
As I always do, I read this novel after watching the drama (face palm) so I can honestly say that I did hope to get a great epilogue here. Unfortunately, the book follows a storyline different from that of the drama. Shao Dian You Qin in the drama grew up isolated in order to achieve perfect celestial body, in process of which, he had to lock away his emotions and desires. In the book, we don't have such a storyline at all. Or, there's also the fact that Ye Tan doesn't really fall in love with Shao Dian You Qin until much later. She likes his first soul shard much more than his original form which even makes Shao Dian You Qin jealous.
The ending here was unsatisfactory so I'm glad that the drama adaptation took a slightly different approach to reach a much happier closure. The author apparently wrote a new epilogue in line with the drama and posted it on their socials. Ye Tan has a son who has his dad's temperament while a daughter is born to Qing Kui as per the new epilogue.
Overall, it was an okay read since I had the machine translated version to make sense of. Many saw character development throughout the novel which made me the happiest. Great book if you're into Wuxia genre with some romance.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
