Laurentide, Ohio. Molly is perfectly content. A typical twelve-year-old girl, she loves her family, friends, and riding horses. Out of nowhere a strange woman takes over the school and everything goes crazy. People start hating each other, Molly’s favorite teachers get fired, and adults disappear from the town. Told by an antique shop owner that the stranger is a dangerous time traveler from the 1890s, Molly can’t believe such a crazy idea. But when the woman’s goons set fire to the entire town, Molly escapes on an unusual steam train…and finds herself racing into the past. Will Molly’s dive into history be the key to stopping a trail of destruction? Laurentide is the thrilling first book in The Untimely Journey of Veronica T. Boone Middle Grade adventure series. If you like courageous characters, cool historical facts, and fun insights into real American history, then you’ll love this wonderful railway rescue. Children's educational American history, honesty, friendship, patriotism.

I live and write in Virginia, U.S.A. I'm a pilot who has written several books about flying under the name Michael Bleriot and now three books for younger readers. THE UNTIMELY JOURNEY OF VERONICA T. BOONE was born when my niece requested an adventure story for a 12-year-old girl, one that included trains, horses, and Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry. She said it should also include the history of America, “but only the interesting parts.”

The Untimely Journey trilogy offers kids a positive, clean, exciting adventure while teaching them some wonderful history at the same time.

This is a book about Molly.

This is a book about trains.

This is a book about happenings

This is a book about things strange.

This is a book of disappearances.

This is a book about a seriously evil headmistress.

This is a book about Molly's experiences.

This is a book to throw at that headmistress.

Will they figure out the truth?

Why are some sanguine?

Why are some so aloof?

Time to catch the train for an untimely journey.

Fantastic kids' book for the 10-14 year old crowd. Historical fiction with adventure and mystery, a positive, G-rated book that teaches kids history while it keeps them entertained. The three-book series is a must-read for kids, especially home-schoolers looking for information on American history that is positive and fun.

I’m a middle school teacher and this is an excellent book. I’m planning on using it my class as a jump off to history lessons. I finished Part 1 and has started on Part 2.

O, the people my students will meet. I can’t wait.

An easy to read story of Molly and Veronica who travel through time to correct history which was changed by the evil pug-nasties.
