Maple Aster has just moved to this tiny Connecticut town to open her candy store. So far, things aren’t going well. Her roommate ran off with her half of the rent and now Maple is stuck living out of the back of the shop.

Burke Masters is the town loner. He moved here a few years ago after his mom passed away and he needed a fresh start. He runs the town hardware store, fixing up properties on the side. He likes being left alone. That is, until Maple moves in next door.

Argumento:

Ella es un rayo de sol. Él es un gigante brusco. ¿Pueden estos opuestos atraer?

Maple Aster acaba de mudarse a esta pequeña ciudad de Connecticut para abrir su tienda de dulces. Hasta ahora, las cosas no van bien. Su compañera de cuarto se escapó con su mitad del alquiler y ahora Maple está atrapada viviendo en la parte trasera de la tienda.

Mí humilde opinión:

Small Town love es una colección de varias autoras con temática del día de los enamorados en distintos pueblos pequeños.

Esta lectura fue fácil de leer, rápida y sin mucho drama y exageradamente dulce.

Adoro los hombres posesivos por sus mujeres en mis historias cortas pero Burke era DEMASIADO posesivo, cada vez que decía que alguien podría llevarse a Maple ponía los ojos en blanco. Sin embargo, tenía ese lado gruñón tierno y su historia personal me tocó el corazón. Entendible la razón por la que era tan sobreprotector cuando se enamoró de Maple.

Maple era toda alegría, ella realmente era un caramelo y a pesar de que no quería depender de un hombre dejó que Burke la cuidara. Al principio luchó por parar su lado cavernícola y creí que habría más problemas por eso pero no. Aunque él le dijo que iba a trabajar en no ser un mandón, continúa siéndolo y ella no lo menciona más.

Burke y Maple se complementan, él es rudo y ella es suave, me gustó sus diferencias. Su conexión fue rápida y me gustó su interacción a lo largo de la historia, su historia de amor fue linda con momentos de intensa pasión.

Disfruté mucho la historia y es otra que desearía que fuera más extensa pero me encantó todo y esos epilogos cerrando fueron extra dulces!

We onto valentines novellas and this one was sweet and little steam.

Maple is new in town and opening up a candy store even if she had a rough couple weeks since her ex roommate stole from her. So shes tight on money and has few more stuff before her opening. Enter hardwood store owner Burke when you first meet him he is a silent type mind his own bussiness, until he meets Maple in his shop he wants to protect this girl. And he offers his help and grows closer when he finds out she's going to sleep in her shop.

Cute corn dog dinners, sexual tension and over protectiveness 🔥💗💗

No ow/om drama, no cheating, sexy times, virgin gal and no manwhore

Oh man! First time reading this author and I absolutely ADORED this story!

I loved the hero’s grumpiness and his immediate connection to the heroine, his desire to protect and cherish her. Be still my swooning heart!

And I ADORED that the heroine was innocent, and was able to give the hero the gift of claiming her for himself, that the memory of her first time wasnt thrown away and given to some slimy loser scumbag. THANK YEWWWWW!!!!

The hero’s past isn’t mentioned except to say that he hasn’t ever been in a serious relationship and it’s heavily implied that he’s been alone for a long time. No abuse or cheating of any kind. No ow/om drama. HEA with epilogue.

I'm absolutely crazy about Burke. He was the perfect hero--possessive, protective, jealous, and thoughtful. It's incredibly sexy when a man is gruff to the world but gentle with his woman, and that's Burke to a tee. I love that he knew that he wanted Maple immediately and was determined to make her his. Maple was also adorable. She had such a sweet, cheery innocence that was the perfect foil to Burke's tough and lonely exterior.

The characters were both also so complex. You would expect the character development to be lacking in such a short story, but Burke's overprotective nature and Maple's fear of depending on others were explained by their pasts and made them deeply relatable. I loved their passionate and tender romance, but I also just liked them as people.

The only reason I'm not giving this story five stars is because I wish there had been a little conflict or something just to add that extra bit of excitement to the story. However, overall, the book was a quick, interesting read, and I would definitely recommend it as the perfect story for the Valentine's Day season.

Grumpy, closed off from everyone hero? Check. Sweet, upbeat, adorable and sunny heroine? Check. This kind of story is my catnip and it didn't disappoint! Burke doesn't let anyone close, not since his mom died. When he meets Maple, he doesn't know what hit him. She just needed some tools, opening your own store can get complicated. What she got was a growly, protective bear of a man. This story gave me all the butterflies. I loved every bit of it, 5 stars!

Sweet, HEA

These Small Town Love series books are all so sweet, insta-everything and oozing Alpha that I just can’t stop reading them! Adored by Burke is the first story in this series, but thankfully they don’t have to be read in order because I am jumping all around!

Burke has had a serious loss and is still reeling from the pain. He has no plans to let anyone in, let alone a bright and loud candy maker whose name is even sugary-sweet, Maple!

This is a quick read with a HEA and two epilogues.

While I loved this book and the storyline, it left me wondering more at the end than I had answers to. I've found that a lot of insta-love stories are quick to get the couple together and then to Happily Every After with little substance to how they actually get there. While that's great if you don't have a lot of time to get fully immersed in a book, it leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to complete stories.

But the characters were great and I loved how their respective businesses reflected their personalities - Burke had a tough exterior, perfect for a hardware store, while Maple's sweet personality was perfect for her sweets store. I would have liked a bit more backstory on what made Burke the way he was and why it seemed at first like the others in the town didn't particularly care for him (as mentioned in one of the first few pages when he was ignored by others in the area.) He seemed to be a man with a past and I think that could have been delved into just a bit more.

Overall it was a sweet, quick story that can be read in just a couple of hours.

Small town forever

Burke and Maple are both transplants to this sweet Michigan town and are both fighting the demons of something. Burke lost his mother young and has been shy to relationships ever since. Maple never really had a good parental figure and after getting swindled out of her rent money she is starting over. When she goes into the hardware store she is looking for supplies but never expecting to find someone to supply what she needs. Though Burke is extremely overprotective he has her best intentions at heart. I love the back and forth of these two and their love. A little steamy a whole lot romantic. This series is turning into one of my favorites from these authors.

Burke was grumpy as all get out. After spending most of his life taking care of his mom, and then losing her not to long ago, he didn't want to be alone anymore but didn't know how to make that happen. The weather in Destiny Falls wasn't helping him in the least and he was ready to go home after shutting down his hardware store until sunshine and rainbows walked into his store. Maple needed to get her store, Sweets, next to the hardware store but she needed a few things to fix some stuff in the store, so off to the hardware store she went. There she encounters Burke and is thrown off kilter by how he treats her. He was definitely not what she was used to after being around her man hopping mother. Valentine's magic is at play as these two learn how to deal with someone so different in their lives. Burke has every caveman tendency that scared Maple, but she still wanted to be a part of his life. Will the Valentine's magic sweeping through her store help these two? Adored by Burke is another super cute, quick instalove book by Rebecca Wilder. Rebecca pulls you in to the story and makes you cheer for her characters, wanting to make sure they get their HEA.

I loved every second of this book! What more is there to ask for than a head strong/sweet as sun Woman meeting a majorly Grumpy man and falling head over heals in love. Maple was the sunshine Burke needed in his life to spice it up & Burke was a god send for Maple after her sticky living situation. Burke was so protective over Maple that you can’t help but swoon and wish for your own possessive man that encourages you in your business. They were adorable and a very entertaining couple to read about! This story was a winner🥰

Adored by Burke by Rebecca Wilder kicks off the small town love series with a bang. I have never read a book by Wilder before I will definitively buy more in the future.

Burke is a quiet man that expected to live the rest of his life alone after his mother passed away when he was young, but he was brought to his knees by the quirky Maple. Although these two seem like polar opposites, they bring out the best in each other. The love story that follows their meeting is one for the record books!

I thought that this was a super sweet book. Burke is the strong silent type and some might say that he is grumpy but he is just lonely and is afraid to open himself up to be hurt again. Maple is super sweet, yet shy, and tries to always look on the bright side of things. These two seem like complete opposites but they are more alike than they realize. There is a little bit of drama but once they talk things out, Burke and Maple are able to work together and get a wonderfully sweet HEA. I really enjoyed reading this book and I would recommend it and Ms. Rebecca as a great author.

Sweet Valentine

This is my first Rebecca Wilder book and I really enjoyed it. Maple is sweet as her name and Burke is you OTT Alpha hero. Being adored by Burke is what Maple needed and of course Burke need some sweetness which is Maple. A wonderful short and sweet valentine story.

Wow this book was amazing and so darn sweet! I was so sad it has to end. Burke was always known as gruff and grumpy never letting anyone close after his mom died. One day Maple walks into his hardware store and turns his life around. He loves her so much and is so protective and possessive of her. Their romance was a whirlwind but it was so darn sweet and cute. I could read this book over and over again!

First things first; I like the cover of this book!
Adored by Burke is a novella in the ‘’small town love’’ collection. This story is short, fast paced and a sweet read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. Adored by Burke is the first book of Rebecca Wilder’s that I have read (I think). I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Burke is a hardware shop owner that is a loner. When he meets his new shop neighbour he is instantly attracted but will he give love a chance?
The chemistry between Burke and Maple is clear to see and I liked them together. I thought they made a cute couple.
I loved how protective Burke was of Maple.
I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story.
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read.

This is the epitome of the sunshine and the grumpy one. Maple is everything happy and bright. She is a bit down on her luck, having had her roommate steal from her so she is forced to sleep in her shop. Burke is SUPER grumpy. The small town they live in know to leave him alone. Maple is forced to come to him for supplies to fix a hole and once he see's her, it's over for him. This is my first time reading this author and I'm feeling compelled to go back and read everything this author has written. There was so much sweetness as well as heat, it made for the perfect mix. Love it!

This book was as sweet as candy. Maple sees the bright side to everything, even though she’s had to sleep in the back of her candy store due to her roommate stealing her stuff. Burke is a gruff loner who has kept everyone at a distance. When Maple goes into Burke’s hardware store to get supplies, Burke develops a sweet tooth for Maple and his caveman tendencies come out. I just loved Maple and Burke. This book was so good and had enough steam to be considered hot.

Awww, Supersweet contemporary romance between grumpy antisocial Burke and shop neighbor Maple, who was angelic and sweet.
I liked the way Burke knew from their meet cute that he was smitten and doomed.
Fast paced short OTT Romance with low drama and high heat.
Burke was adorable in a grumpy bear-like way as Maole turned him into a sweet cuddly Teddy bear just for her.
Nice romance in time for Valentines!

This was so cute!
I really enjoyed Rebecca’s writing style, and Burke and Maple were absolutely adorable together.
This is short, sweet, low drama insta love romance done right.
The characters have back story and really seem to love each other. The plot is focused solely on their relationship, no outside drama popping up. The sex is passionate and steamy. The ending was sweet and sappy and absolutely satisfying.
I really enjoyed it, and I think I’ll be looking into Rebecca Wilder’s back log to see if I’ll enjoyed some of her other books, here soon.
