A Duke for Miss Daisy

Daisy's met the duke of her dreams...or is he her worst nightmare?

Daisy is a wallflower. Or at least, she was. But this season her prospects are brighter and, much to her mother's delight, she may just make a match. When the duke she once adored from a distance arrives at the house party she's attending with her friends, she knows for certain her luck has changed.

Until she meets him.

A Lord for Miss Lily

Lily’s lord is her long lost friend. He’s also her worst enemy.

Lord Merrick is perfectly handsome and charming…but this lord is a complete traitor. Lily knows this for a fact as she is the very person he turned his back on. Now she’s determined to avoid him at the house party she’s been trapped at with her former friend.

The only problem? Lord Merrick is like the plague… he just keeps cropping up.

A Marquess for Miss Marigold

All this wounded marquess wants is solitude. Instead, he stumbles across a wallflower…literally.

It wasn’t as though Marigold was hiding, she was just…lying low. In an abandon shed. Admidst a houseparty where both her best friends had managed to become engaged.

In a few days she can escape to her quiet life a solitude and books. Alone. Forever. But then the prodigal son returns to the manor and charges into her life with the military precision one might expect from a war hero. Even more terrifying, he refuses to ignore her like the rest of society. Of course, he doesn’t.

A Duke for Miss Daisy 4.5 Stars
Daisy is a wallflower. Or at least, she was for the last three seasons but this season her prospects are brighter and, much to her mother's delight, she may just make a match. When the duke she once adored from a distance arrives at the house party she's attending with her friends, she knows for certain her luck has changed. Until she meets him & finds him to be rude, grim, and not at all the knight in shining armour she believed him to be as a child, the now-widowed Duke of Dolan treats her boorishly bad.
The first in a new series & a lovely read that I read in one sitting. It made me smile practically all the way through. Griff is the disillusioned Duke who has no interest in love, Daisy is the accident prone, young woman who wants a love match, together they are perfect but assumptions, misunderstandings all get in the way of their burgeoning romance. Another well written fun, entertaining read which I thoroughly enjoyed

A Lord for Miss Lily 4 Stars
Laura Upton grew up spending time with her brother & best friend Merrick but he went away to travel but on his return was different & turned his back on her just when she really needed a friend. Laura & her two close friends are wallflowers so they embrace this by changing their names to the flowers they’ve become - so Laura becomes Lily
Lord Merrick is perfectly handsome and charming…but this lord is a complete traitor. Lily knows this for a fact as she is the very person he turned his back on. Now she’s determined to avoid him at the house party she’s been trapped at with her former friend. When he saves her from a social embarrassment, she’s tempted to spill all her darkest secrets. Even if they could recapture the friendship that once filled her life with happiness what would she do about all the feelings that hint she wants to be far more than his friend?
A well written charming romance, which I read in a sitting, I loved both Merrick & Lily, there was a lovely chemistry between them & although there was nothing stronger than a kiss the passion simmered. There were misunderstandings & secrets to be revealed before they could finally have their HEA, strong characters & a story that flowed effortlessly made for a heart warming captivating read

A Marquess for Miss Marigold 4.25 Stars
Maximus Langston, the Marquis of Arundel returns home from fighting the French , he’s tired, his wounded leg hurts & all he wants is solitude but his mother is holding a large house party so he seeks solitude in a gardener’s shed & stumbles across a wallflower…literally. It wasn’t as though Mary Clearwater aka Marigold was hiding, she was just…lying low. In a few days she can escape to her quiet life a solitude and books. Then the prodigal son returns to the manor and charges into her life with the military precision one might expect from a war hero. Even more terrifying, he refuses to ignore her like the rest of society. The irritating man seems to have made it his life’s mission to drag her out of the shadows and into the light. Even more frightening is that his attention is starting to feel…nice. Better than that, even.
This is the third book in this delightful, fun, entertaining series, it could be read on its own. The pages flew by & I read it in a sitting. I loved both Max & Marigold who both fell hard & fast for each other but misunderstandings nearly separated them until their friends lent helping hands. They were attracted to each other from their first meeting & it only grew with each meeting. A well written story that had me smiling all of the way through
I read each of these stories individually & highly recommend them

Three friends at a house party bond together over their wallflower status and call themselves The Flowers. Knowing each other's strengths and weaknesses, they protect one another in all circumstances. These novels are well-written and entertaining, each one a standalone with wit and romance, leaving one smiling at the conclusion.

A Duke for Miss Daisy: Daisy Merriweather crashes into the Duke of Dolan and all her dreams come crashing down. Far from the gentle, kind, and noble man she always thought he was, he is grumpy and bad-tempered. He also does not recognise the young girl who followed him around as a child. Griff knows he is being churlish, but after his disastrous first marriage, he has learned the hard way that women will go to any lengths to attract his attention. He has sworn off love and has no intention of ever compromising his heart again. The only problem is that his neighbour's daughter is exactly the kind of girl he could fall in love with and so he steels his heart against her. This sweet romance is entertaining, witty, and engaging, leaving one with a sense of expectation for the rest of the books in the series.

A Lord for Miss Lily: Childhood friends become estranged when life and events change both Lord Merrick and Lily, making them enemies. At least, Merrick became Lily's enemy for reasons that Lord Merrick was unable to fathom. Lily took life by the horns and shook circumstances into submission, whilst Merrick was more inclined to take the path of least resistance. Meeting up once again as mature adults, Merrick is frustrated with Lily's cold attitude towards him but when an unexpected event forces him to take her to safety, he begins to understand that there is more to her story than he realises. This is a sweet romance involving old friends who find one another again, despite betrayal and lies.

A Marquess for Miss Marigold: With parents' expectations running high, Lord Langston needs some rest and respite from his family's demands the moment he arrives back home from the war in Europe. Taking refuge in an abandoned cottage he finds it already occupied when he trips over Marigold, who is in hiding. Perhaps it is because their meeting is sight unseen, but the unremarkable wallflower attracts his interest, making him smile at her somewhat naive and spontaneous comments. He finds her candour refreshing and is determined to seek her out at the evening's entertainment. Max's interest is a mixed blessing to Marigold as she dreads the focus of attention, whilst at the same time giving her the opportunity to become visible to potential suitors that would otherwise take no notice of her. Whilst Max's mother is less than enthralled by his interest in Marigold, her mother is ecstatic, much to Marigold's chagrin. This charming romance is a fairly short read, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I received a copy of this boxset as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

This was the perfect evening read - not too much angst and three happy endings. I enjoy a light HEA story to read at night and these three stories were easy reading.

Delightful

All of the characters were complex and developed. Unfortunately, the young ladies must marry, hopefully to gentlemen of good standing. Now, if only family members will butt out!

The first book was good if not a little predictable but as the series continues it becomes down right boring and very same same. By the time I was at the third book I was skimming pages.

A DUKE FOR MISS DAISY - Daisy Merriweather is a self-confessed wallflower, or she was until this season when her marriage prospects were on the upswing. Daisy is thrilled that the Griff, Duke of Dolan - "her duke" is back and attending the same house party as her. He was her brother's best friend and she grew up thinking she was in love with Griff and then he left and married. She was crushed but knew she would never find anyone man as perfect for her as he was and then they ran in to each other at the house party and her entire opinion of him changed completely. Griffin "Griff", Duke of Dolan was at the house party to find a wife - he had thought to be in love when he married but found she was full of lies, their marriage started falling apart after six months and after five years of marriage and no children, he had buried her last year. He needed to find a wife from a good family - a good "business" partnership with no love involved. Daisy wants to find love in a marriage - Griff want to find a wife with no love involved. How will these two ever meet in the middle, let alone agree on the subject of marriage? Their adventure is entertaining, humorous, squeaky clean but with some kisses. I found this story and characters to be a refreshing change of pace to the heavy drama and sexually charged books I usually read. I highly recommend this book to ALL Regency Romance Readers!

A LORD FOR MISS LILY - "Life Happens" and that is exactly what happened to childhood friends, Lily & Merrick. This was a fun, humorous and sweet read, with an easy to love couple, that kept you turning pages. Laura/Lily Upton does not enjoy all of society's social functions, nor their rules; therefore she and her two friends have deemed themselves wallflowers and are perfectly happy in than choice. She grew up with an older brother and his best friend Merrick - whom she always tagged along with and her and Merrick seemed to constantly find mischief together. They became best friends from small children to young adults until Merrick turned on her and she lost her trust & her heart. Lord Merrick is back from his travels and he is still very handsome but now he is serious, has conformed to society's rules - a complete opposite of what he was before he left to travel. He is attending a house party and discovers Laura/Lily is in attendance, although she is avoiding him, and he doesn't understand why or what happened to their friendship and plans on discovering the answer. Lily & Merrick are so entertaining; the humor, denial of feelings and the rekindling of the past makes for a romantic afternoon read. It will take you away to a sweet and loving time for young love to flourish.

A MARQUESS FOR MISS MARIGOLD - I just love this "feel good" series and look forward to every new book with great anticipation. I know the hero & heroine will be lovable and the secondary characters of families/friends will add so much to the story. The books are just the right length for an afternoon read and there isn't angst or drama - just an entertaining, humorous & clean romantic tale. Max and Marigold are just a great couple and you want them to find each other and their HEA as soon as they meet. I highly recommend this book and the entire series to ALL historical romance lovers.

A DUKE FOR MISS DAISY: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
In the beginning Griff only saw Daisy as a compatible partner. He did not want to love anyone. He had been hurt before. Unfortunately Daisy was in love with him and rejected his offer because she needed to be loved and to love. As Griff spent time with Daisy he stopped denying his attraction and feelings for her. A comedy of misunderstandings and hurt feeling ensued. But in the end love prevailed.
A LORD FOR MISS LILY: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is a darling story of childhood friends turned frenemies turned to true love. I understood where Laura/Lily was coming from. Her feelings and emotions were so realistic. It was easy to identify with her frustration, betrayal of not one but two dear friends, her near death experience and her unrequited feelings for her childhood frenemy Merrick and all the pain and suffering she went through. In the end she just decided to be herself regardless of how society saw her. Which at times was not convenient. When Merrick returned from the continent, he resolved to give up his spirited lifestyle to one that his parents expected. He began to court Lily's sworn enemy. Merrick was a decent guy and had no clue why Lily turned her back on him. At the house party they were both at they could not escape each other and slowly but surely the truth from both of them came out and cemented their broken relationship. The harpy and shrew that caused the betrayal made one last ditch effort to humiliate Lily. But Merrick was one step ahead. I enjoyed the banter between Merrick and Lily and was happy when the harpy was given a good set down. A charming read.
A MARQUESS FOR MISS MARIGOLD: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
What a romantic story. I loved Marigold/Mary. Such a shy young lady. The other reason she had little confidence in herself was because her mother had no faith in her to make her own match. So, her mother took it as her job to orchestrate her opportunities. How embarrassing for Marigold. Marigold had a heart of gold, was a loyal and loving friend but lacked confidence. When the new marquess stumbled over her in her hiding place she did not know who he was. But Max was captivated by her. She was honest, forthright and expressed herself when given the chance. Max found this refreshing. At first Max's mother wanted nothing more than for him to find a bride, marry and have an heir. But Max resisted. Max had just got from the war where he commanded many men. He suffered a leg injury but counted himself lucky he did not lose his leg. Max was overwhelmed trying to begin to learn how to be a Marquess but after meeting Marigold he could not stop thinking of her. The story made me smile as I read it. The miscommunications between the two; his best friend trying to make him jealous over Marigold and the pressure of his mother. It was hard not to identify with this wonderful couple as they wore their emotions on their sleeves. This was a fun and delightful read. I do recommend it.

Loved it

I really loved these three interconnecting stories about 3 friends (Daisy Merriweather, Laura Upton and Mary Gladwell) who happen to be wallflowers who look out for each other and are unique in their own way. Who are all  attending the Dowager Marchiness of Arundel's house party. My favourite of the three stories is Daisy and Griff's story.

Daisy Merriweather has loved Griff the Duke of Dolan a gentleman since the time they spent 3 summers on neighbouring estates many years ago, before the death of his father, estate duties and obligations prevented him from having fun and games in the countryside with his neighbour's daughter. Daisy is wallflower by choice and due to her unfortunate innate clumsiness prefers not to dance much to her mother's dismay.  When she literally hits with a door at the Glendale's garden party she is mortified to find out that he has no recollection of who she is and decides to cease thinking of him as her Duke any longer.  Griff is on the lookout for a new more biddable, wallflower wife who will allow him to live the life he lives a simple life and to provide him with an heir what he does not need is a beautiful, charming and vacuous lady like Annabelle his late wife who up until their marriage gave the outward appearance of being everything he wished for in a wife who desired him only for his title and status and quickly became bored of country living. However Daisy's mother has decided that Daisy will marry this season and sees Griff as the ideal candidate. Despite his growing attraction to Daisy Griff offers for her in such a way as to state that he does not love her and doesn't believe in love Daisy promptly refuses him stating that she will only marry for love and nothing less would do.  Devastated by his cold off hand proposal Daisy disappears from the ballroom to seek solace elsewhere. Griff on the other hand decides to court another until the machinations of his best friend who proceeds to feign an interest in Daisy sparks his jealously making him realise rather belatedly that he can not stay at the house party knowing that somehow Daisy has won his heart and that she seemingly doesn't want him. He decides to depart and Daisy decides to confront her fears and tell him that she loves him even if he doesn't want her love and that he shouldn't give up on finding someone he can love even if it is not her.

Will they resolve their misunderstandings and realise they love each other or will Griff leave the house party not knowing that his love is returned.

A DUKE FOR MISS DAISY:

Aren’t we all a bit of a wallflower?!!! A Duke for Miss Daisy by Maggie Dallen and Katherine Ann Madison is book 1 in A Wallflower's series and I am holding by breath for book 2. I found this story to be oh so charming. I also found how we can all romanticize about a person and can be truly let down when we finally get to know the person. The hero and heroine are both delightful and I found the writing creative and easy to read. This regency story has a young girl’s dream, good friends, wallflower names (which I found charming), judgement, looking for a wife, a good friend, a doting mother and love. I highly recommend this book.

A MARQUESS FOR MISS MARIGOLD:

Such a Sweet Story!!! A Marquess for Miss Marigold by Maggie Dallen and Katherine Ann Madison is book 3 in A Wallflower's Wish series and I am so loving this heart warming series. Maggie and Katherine have a unique way of writing such charming and wonderful stories and their characters are just too lovable. Though in a series this book can be read as a standalone. This story has a wallflower, trying to fine ones way in life, guilt, matchmaking mothers, good friends, loyalty, kindness, a death of a father and love at first sight or should I say fall. If you read this book you will understand the meaning of fall and I highly recommend that you do.

A LORD FOR MISS LILY:

Fantastic Series and Book 2 does not disappoint! A Lord for Miss Lily by Maggie Dallen and Katherine Ann Madison is book 2 in A Wallflower's Wish series and I am so loving it. Honestly book 2 is just as good as book one, A Duke For Miss Daisy. I can’t wait for book 3, A Marquess for Miss Marigold. I just love that the wallflowers all gave themselves flower names, how very creative and charming. A lord for Miss Lily is one that you will not be able to put down. To love your childhood friend only to find out that they are your enemies in adulthood makes a terrific read. The best banter ever!!! Though in a series this book can be read as a standalone. This story has disagreements, good friends, a interesting house party, misunderstandings, not wanting to care for the other but being drawn to them, hurt and yes love. I highly recommend this book!

***This book was gifted to me and I am voluntarily reviewing.

A Duke for Miss Daisy
This is the first in the series of three young wallflowers. It is a sweet quick read, perfect for relaxing and taking your mind off the world's worries. As usual, the characters were well written and very likable. I enjoyed the way the next book was set up throughout this one and will be looking forward to reading the next 2 books. There was no sex in this book but lots of kisses. It is a happy book to read.
Lord for Miss Lily
What a wonderful heartwarming, uplifting sweet story. This is the second book in the series of three young wallflowers. This is a quick read that leaves you feeling all warm inside. This was written more from the hero's perspective than the heroines which was lovely to see his real feelings being expressed. As usual, the characters are well written and the story flowed nicely with that bit of tension. There was no sex in this book but lots of kisses and desire
A Marquess for Miss Marigold
Another wonderful heartwarming, uplifting sweet story. This is the third book in the series about young wallflowers. I am just loving this series. They are short quick reads that I have found hard to put down. They leaving you feeling good when you are finished and looking forward to the next one. They are a nice escape in these times of trouble and stress. They are beautifully written and have no sex in them. Just pure romance and joy.
I received this book as an ARC and am very happy to do my review.

Wonderful Stories

A Duke for Miss Daisy
Daisy has loved Griff from afar all her life until the day he married another. Assumptions and fear cause Daisy and Griff some grief. With the help of two more wallflowers, who are her best friends, Griff's best friend and some sheep, happily ever after is achieved.

A Lord for Miss Lilly

I loved the first book in the collection and this one is just as entertaining. Who can help but love these three wallflowers who support each other completely. Lilly is trying to be so strong that she is hurting herself. Secrets, lies and miscommunication have kept Lily from her best friend Merrick. Can a house party, some best friends and a lot of truth help them find each other again? A beautiful written story that is both romantic and honest.

A Marquess for Miss Marigold
Miss Marigold is the last wallflower hiding when suddenly a handsome man falls over her and she lands in his lap. This brief moment has an impact on them both. The war hero thinks he will be Marigolds hero by pulling her out of the shadows but he grows to regret his decision. Meddling friends and snotty debutantes help these two find love. I really enjoyed Marigold's story. It was a great, fun, entertaining read.

#1 A Duke for Daisy

Talk about getting off on the wrong foot, when Daisy encounters the Duke of Dolan, ten years from when they last had met, she barreled into him when opening a door, being as clumsy as she normally was. He, on the other hand, thought she was in a rush to trap him, and was far from impressed.
This story has a lot of twists and turns, mostly because neither party could speak plainly enough to make the other fully comprehend the situation.
Anyway, it was a good, light read, which I enjoyed.

#2 A Lord for Miss Lilly

They had known each other as children, then he went away for a year on a Grand Tour, and when he came back their friendship disintegrated.
Now, they were thrown together at a country house party, and they were getting to learn some things that neither of them had been aware off.
What happens, well that's what the writer has laid out, proving how they are a better wordsmith than I.
Yes definitely an enjoyable read.

#3 A Marquess for Miss Marigold

Our final wallflower, Marigold, laments her future, feeling as though she is being left behind, as her sister wallflowers have found their future husbands.
However, her future and happiness has been in fates' hands, and she will literally fall for her future partner, when she least expects.
Yeah, there's lots more to this story, but again, it's best to let the author tell it her way.

A Duke for Miss Daisy
A wonderfully romantic, sigh worthy read. Of course not without its great angst, comical moments, sweet swoon worthy kisses, and heartfelt love. This book seems to be written by a pro in the romance genre. Very enjoyable.

A Lord for Miss Lily
Fiery and reasonable?
Miss Lily is the fiery one. Lord Merrick is the reasonable one? Of course he would say so himself. And Miss Lily would most likely argue with him. But when it all came down to it, after all the misunderstandings they would confess their love for one another. And have their happily ever after.

A Marquess for Miss Marigold
How quick is quick?
Wow! These two were quick to fall in love! Maxwell had just returned from the war front. He hadn’t even changed his clothes when he fell (literally) over Marigold. Their encounter was almost hilarious and definitely worth a big smile. Their actions toward each other going forward were dazed and confused until they finally admitted to themselves and to each other that they were happiest when they were together.

Each one of these stories were very entertaining. Well worth my time and highly recommended.

A Duke For Miss Daisy, 5 stars:
I always appreciate sweet historical romances, since I tend to skip steamy scenes as a personal preference. This one is the first of a trilogy of sweet romances about a group of wallflower friends. I loved it all - the characters, the story, and the pace. Definitely looking forward to reading the remaining two books!

A Lord For Miss Lily, 5 stars:
Lily and Merrick were close as children, but unfortunate circumstances caused them to drift apart. When they find themselves at the same house party, they are able to begin healing past hurts and find their way back into each other's hearts. This is a heartwarming sweet romance with wonderful characters.

A Marquess For Miss Marigold, 5 stars:
Max is an instantly likeable hero, and Marigold is charming and relatable. I enjoyed seeing the last of this lovely trio of wallflowers find her happily ever after.

If you like instant love, this set might be for you. However i am not a fan... I like a little more substance in my romance.
In the first book the main characters meet, fall in love and become engaged over 3 days. That seems fast even by fluffy regency romance standards.
The second book is slightly better in a childhood friends to something more way, but it is still a 3 day courtship.
The third one is similar to the first. Less than a week passes for all the books together.
The general theme of the set is misunderstandings and miscommunication.
Absolutely no spice.

Missing prologue

Be forewarned, the prologue was left out of Lily's story. I had to download a separate copy of Lily's book (thankfully it was available through kindle unlimited). The stories were ok but each had similar scenes in toward the end with H/h both running to meet each other to (finally) clear up their feelings for each other (either in the library, the garden or, of course, the stables!).

Notice the names of the three wallflowers: Daisy, Lily, and Marigold. They are common, everyday flowers in every garden. But somehow each of these took their turn to fall in love that was reciprocated. Read fun innocent Regency romance! See my reviews of the individual books of this excellent author!

A Garden of Flowers Bloom

What wonderful stories. 3 drastically different young ladies trying to test the waters for a season. Only one season turns into two which turns into three. Three wallflower finally bloom into mature confident women they were meant to be. Will each be brave enough to find their soul mate? Or will they settle into a relationship without love?

These were three fun, quick reads that I really enjoyed. Each of the Flowers had a different story and personality. It was interesting to see how their stories developed and how each played a role in each story. The length was perfect for an evening of reading. It would be fun to see if the now married flowers continue their adventures.

Three wallflowers joining together

Daisy, Lily and Marigold were wallflowers and had chosen the nicknames of flowers to show solidarity. They all attended a protracted house party and became incredibly popular just by being themselves. Their growth as people was wonderful to see and the romance was intriguing. Only the typos detracted from this clean read.

A Wallflower’s Wish Boxed

I chose this rating because the stories were well written in context and the way the story flowed .
I think most anyone would enjoy these three stories of Wallflower friends, Marigold, Lilly, and Daisy. Each was unique in their on way, attending balls, but always in the background.

Wallflowers?

I love this type of book where we have three best friends and we learn all of their out come to find happiness! After three seasons of being laughed at and gossiped about they decide to embrace their being wallflowers an hence their names Daisy, Lily( Laura) and Marigold ( Mary). Enjoyed it very much!

Second and third better than first.

A good set of stories spoilt only by the total lack of research. Chipmunk have never been free in England, a hunt is on horses to chase foxes and pheasants are shot by people walking with guns. Simple enough to find out as most are still happening today in one form or another.
