So... first and foremost I'm not the intended audience (duh) we have a titled romance-webcomic that's got strong "consensual non-consensual undertones" with the protagonist princess being told her body belongs to the kingdom. Only! 'plot twist' (might as well be written in fire-works across the sky) generic male love interest (newly renamed "abu-mcmuscly" in my headspace), an ambigously ethnic minority ( he's just ambiguously brown, middle-eastern, "more animal than than that of human" and "natural prowess" but we gave him golden eyes, it's not a fetish if we MAKE the race you guys we swear... ) who appears as a red flag but once you KNOW THE TRUTH(tm) he’s a green flag due to lots of gratuitous time spent on the pasty-white ingenue love-interest.
2/5... bruh. Excellent line-work and shading. Shoot the writer please.
✎ 4 / 5 ⭐ ✎ digital (manhwa) 📱 ✎ specifically for season 1 (1 - 40)
☂ situational recommendation
Definitely not for the weak heart lol. This story has a wide net of potential triggers. And quite honestly, I went in really just expecting it to be purely smut driven. I'm pretty surprised to find out that it actually has a pretty dense plot line. However it's a very mature read with lots of included smut. Personally I'd rank it at a grapefruit on the citrus scale.
Even though there are frustrating scenes of the FMC, I found that the explanation by the end of season 1 to satisfy the reasoning as to why she did all of those frustrating things. And all things considering... our MMC is a green flag flags in manhwas that I've read as of late but aggressive. And he'd kill for his girl but that's my type of man 🥰🩷
I will warn that there is heavy depiction of colorism, and what I would consider propaganda that spread through the story's universe. I can't 100% say what the author's intention towards that aspect is but as the story progress, we get to see how advanced the Kurkan's civilization is & feels to me as the author trying to depict racism & handling it. BUT I will say I am only ~ 70 episode into the manhwa, and am working on reading the LN.
This was actually good. It's ongoing series tho. But looking forward to reading the next chapters. It's topic is a bit about racism, or well, not a bit. Surprisingly, and please don't shoot me, I don't have a problem with that. I mean, it's bad to be a racist, but I can ignore it for now lol.
Also, Ishakan is so tender but savage in bed. lol. My eyes are also blessed with the uncensored chapters. LMAO. Waiting for chapter 26 to release on Sunday!
Not exactly sure how many chapters this is but will update when I finish with the final book. I... like it? The story is definitely over the top with the racism (the dark skinned people from the desert take women in predatory marriages by raping them? ok buddy), so if you can overlook that the romance is actually great! I enjoy slowly finding out the FL's turmoil and why ML is interested in her in the first place.
Every so often girls form an irrational bond with a mediocre book/novel. It usually happens once every decade of their lives. I'm happy to say that I found mine. People wonder how is it possible for this to be ranking so high on top reads. I don't have an answer either
*sigh* don't you just love it when your man calls you his sl*t who pays you for s*x 'with pride' when he actually treats you like his s*x slave?💀 also, spineless fmc's are not my thing.
It’s interesting but slow -it does have 300 chapters after all. The first 50 chaps I ate upp when I was on vacation and now I have 200 left. Let’s see if my part 2 gon’ be better.
