DNF @ Ch 143 I like the core concepts on this one. Their different perspectives, mind-altering drugs, and trauma add layers to the characters and provide motivation for their misunderstandings. The problem is that all the dots are connected by the audience and chapters and chapters go by waiting for the actual confrontation of those facts. We have multiple flashbacks that don't add more nuance or details but repeat the same information. Worse, Roa doesn't really get to have a healthy relationship with anyone. Her friends betray or abandon her. Her family isn't honest with her. Her mate is unstable. There are reasons but I'm not sure that ever balances out with enough good when the smoke clears.
