There was a book, a movie, and then of course the landmark television series that made M.A.S.H. a cultural force like few others with 11 seasons and 256 episodes. Set during the Korean War, it channeled the anxiety of the Vietnam era at home and explored the absurdism of war viewed through the staff of the mobile hospital. Now, at the 50th anniversary of M.A.S.H.’s cinematic debut, this special edition of LIFE revisits Hawkeye, Trapper, Radar, Hot Lips, Klinger and the rest of the extraordinary ensemble cast through photos and a lively laugh-out-loud narrative. You’ll go behind the scenes and explore the most memorable moments and episodes, including the two-hour series finale, seen by over 106 million people, remaining the most-watched series finale of all time. The making of the iconic theme song, and the show’s enduring legacy. Please note that this product is an authorized edition published by the Meredith Corporation and sold by Amazon. This edition is printed using a high quality matte interior paper and printed on demand for immediate fulfillment.
Life was an American magazine published weekly from 1883 to 1972, as an intermittent "special" until 1978, and as a monthly from 1978 until 2000. During its golden age from 1936 to 1972, Life was a wide-ranging weekly general interest magazine known for the quality of its photography.
I found this version in Libby as one of the magazines available electronically. Surprisedly, I was not a gib fan of the movie but a hug fan of the television series that ran for 11 seasons and 256 episodes. I am sure I saw most of them and even bought the M*A*S*H trivia board game back in the day. There are plenty of pictures included to reminisce with along with a running commentary of the creators and actors that made this iconic series a reality and hit. Of course, I remember the last episode as many I am sure do. During COVID I watch many of the episodes again that were on a certain channel including interviews done years ago with the actors. Fascinating stuff.
Loved this book as I loved this series and the original movie! The actors were like a family! The trials they had to endure gave a good indication of what went on not only in the surgical ward but in their daily interactions. I've watched this series more than once and know l will watch it again in the future! My all time favourite!
A succinct history of MASH. Most of it I’ve heard before but this is a tidy gathering of information and pictures for those who haven’t been privy to it previously.
