Me aburrió.
This one is hard to rate. It starts well. Our protagonist with her lethargy and fears doesn't fit the typical heroine format. The baby dragon is cute and terrifying. There are shoot outs and chases for action. There is a mystery to solve and a magical world to understand. The romance builds steadily rather than being a cheap insta-love variant. However, once they make it to the capital the characters immediately make the worst possible series of decisions out of nowhere. It's so ridiculous and dumb--I could not keep reading. If the contrivance had happened at the start when we didn't know people or Noah was struggling to adjust to her new reality it would have been easier to accept. But literally she gets god powers at the midway point having fully established her bond with Muelle and is somehow immediately forced into slavery by the villain with lies and a conspiracy regarding false charges. It ruins Leonard's white knight of justice setup as well as shows a lack of ability (and intelligence) for everyone involved. It doesn't make sense as a choice, it isn't what they talked about doing, it comes out of nowhere. It is also weird because most of the same goals, getting her to undergo training and confronting the key terrorists, etc. seems possible with already established plot threads. So it was hard to go back to fluff after that.

I liked the story and characters a lot, but the pacing was very slow. I don't mind the slow-burn romance, but the whole story seemed to drag a bit and I found myself skimming chapters as it went on. Overall a decent read, but it failed to keep my attention throughout
