Inner Strength, Resilience and a Commitment to Recover Overcame All Odds Against Recovery

WOW! This writer recovered to be well enough to write this book.
I can only imagine the size of the boulders she had to overcome on her journey.
The Lord gave her time to deal with an unimaginable condition and build her
strength for the long struggle when most others would have given up.
The support of her ever-present and ever-caring mother strengthened her resolve
to recover.
As I reread this book, the character and inner beauty of the two women jump off
the pages. I feel that I know these two as more than outstanding individuals.
I learn more about them and more about myself as a result.

The book is amazing ..
It pulled me along. The lessons shared remain long after reading this book.
My body hurts with empathy for the writer.

I can relate to this writing.
My son and his motorcycle were run over by a woman.
His body, mind, spirit and hope were lacerated and in tatters.
I cared for him for 10 months day and night.
So, I know what the writer and her mother went through.
Altered Reality is such a truth expression, to put it mildly.
The writer's determination to survive is what brought her through.
She is an amazing person. She found strength and resilience in herself and
in the stick-to-the-situation-until-recovery attitude of her mother, who
must be the source of the iron the writer has flowing through her veins.
Living the experience must have been hair-raising every day.
Each must have been keeping up the spirits of the other woman.
It is easy for me to know the draw of strength flowing from one to the other.
When you are the injured, it takes a special person to give strength and purpose
to the caregiver. The writer is admired for articulating this life journey.
It is a beautiful lightheartedness shared that she mucked up restaurant orders and can laugh about it.
Their succession of small steps forward led to achievement and recovery.
Reliance on Memory Aids and key words proved good therapy.
Her focus on strengths and creating her future brought her to where she is able to help others and never feel sorry for herself.
Remarkable Stories like this provide lasting lessons about inner strength and resilience.
Mnemonics provided me the technique to remember for the 21-hour CPA Exam.
So, I can relate to their benefit to the writer.
She achieved what was reportedly not possible.
Nicole Yeates of June 1987 transformed herself into a 21 st Century Helper of Others.
Her story comes to life in this writing I wholeheartedly recommend.
I believe this book will touch many lives and be an inspiration to the readers.

Hope is possible

First, this author overcame so much. Her mother is the real hero of the story. So many times the world will place limits on us and we accept them. If the author and her mother would have accepted the limits she would not be a tremendous asset she must be to helping injured workers return to the workforce. She can see and know what so many others are not able to. Will be recommending this book.

Holding On!

I had the chance to meet and interview Nicole when she was a guest on my podcast, "The Stephen Show." Hearing her story was powerful but reading it has had lasting impact. I'm in awe of all that Nicole has and is accomplished. I recommend this book even if you don't have a traumatic brain injury

Nicole Yeates shares her story of traumatic brain injury and living her life beyond all expectations. I found that this book is exactly what it promised to be, a great encouragement to keep living, going for your goals, and to keep holding onto hope, because none of us know how our future will really be like here on earth, and there is hope that can be found in the most unexpected places. Learning about Nicole's horrific collision and extensive injuries shows just how far she had to come to regain her health. She also includes helpful advice at the end of each chapter to support those who are going through similar situations now. I'd recommend this book to anyone who wants to know how to reach for healing when the odds feel stacked against you, or how to support loved ones who've been injured.

Although no one I personally know has experienced a brain injury, which is the main focus of this book, Yeates’ story is one with powerful reminders anyone can benefit from. This memoir shows the power of belief and how crucial it is to our outcomes. As Henry Ford put it: whether you think you can, or you think you can’t—you’re right. And this book illustrates that brilliantly.

Additionally, there’s a lot of very useful information on memory management and tips to help with retention that are good to think about, especially as I’m getting older and have moments where I forget things. It’s a useful reminder that these tools exist and I can probably benefit from applying them.

Definitely a powerful and uplifting read that I recommend for anyone who’d like a boost and explore real stories about achieving the ostensibly impossible. Fabulous and empowering! This author is a blazing star and her story is transformational.

An amazingly well written book by an inspirational woman. This is a story that must be shared for its bravery and courage and raw honesty. I am privileged to have been a school friend of Nicole’s and her accident had a real impact on many of us but read about her amazing recovery and subsequent success at life! WINNING 😊
