Where there's Smoke, there's fire and my god was this a dumpster fire.

Smoke by Lily Adams pulled me in with the blurb but ended up being extremely underdeveloped and frustrating. While Naomi (seemingly) had critical thinking skills and an okay emotional maturity that were shown time and time again in her inner monologue, she continuously made mistakes and acted in contrast to her thought process. She held herself accountable for not telling Smoke that she was pregnant, which was understandable since she was 19, but later on in the book there's a conflict due to the fact that neither Naomi nor Smoke could properly communicate with each other like adults (she's 31 and he's 32). This coupled with the fact that the story was repetitive, the plot was half-baked, and the lack of chemistry between Naomi and Smoke just made for a underwhelming story. I mean, Smoke gave Naomi a cringe worthy (private) strip tease to Hot in Here at one point which led to "the most pleasurable union I’d ever experienced." Is Naomi a robot all of a sudden? The author also spelled out every thought and feeling for each of them so plainly it felt as though Lily Adams believed we as the reader had no critical thinking skills ourselves. Sigh.

This story was also insulting to sex workers. While Smoke doesn't outright demand Naomi quit, he definitely voices his frustrations with her choice of career many times, despite the benefits she gets from it, primarily being a flexible work schedule which is very important as a single parent. Yes, he's allowed to not want to date a stripper, but then go find someone who doesn't strip. Don't date a stripper and then force them to conform to what you want them to be. Then towards the end, Naomi again refuses to go in the rooms for private dances (again, her prerogative) because she knows what happens in there and says “I have morals, despite what I do for a living,” I said. “Being a stripper doesn’t make me a prostitute.” (85%, not sure what page). Which is like, fine, you don't need to do anything you aren't comfortable with, but you don't need to shame anyone else for doing it and implying being a prostitute means you inherently lack morals. For a book written in 2021 I'm surprised by the overt slut shaming.

Lastly, (there's more I could go on with but I'll stick to my main frustrations) Naomi was a shit friend to Samantha. Over the 158 page book, Naomi notices multiple instances where she thinks something is wrong with Samantha but she never pushes too far and never questions her surface level responses. For someone who is babysitting for you many nights a week and lives upstairs, a good friend would be concerned and not be so self absorbed. Hey as long as she was watching your kid, all's good right?

I really wanted to like this one because I love single parents stories where the kids are old enough to have their own personalities and have to also be won over, but this one fell way too short for me.

(Smoke & Naomi): TRIGGERS: drug abuse, assault, sexual harassment in the workplace. picking up at the end of the last book, just with a different club member. Smoke has a guest, a one night stand from years ago and her little boy. Not a complete shocker to figure out here. Smoke has a son. The story becomes really sweet as the relationship between father and son is built and the closer they get, the closer Smoke and Naomi gets. Meanwhile, the club is dealing with their rivals trying to push their way into their territory. I still wish there was more club involvement, more get-togethers. However, there was one night at a club that had most of the members there and summer of them interacted. Just wasn't enough for my enjoyment. The story is good and I love the little boy Gavin. Still needing a bit more from the series but Naomi and Smoke have amazingly hot chemistry and the love scenes are hot.

The Rebel Saints MC strikes again, or should I say, the incredible, Ms. Lily Adams.

Jay, aka Smoke, is about to have his entire life altered when he answers his door right before Bones' wedding. Naomi has arrived back in town with her Son, Gavin, with two thoughts in mind. One of which is returning to school, the other, you'll have to read this publication to discover (as I do not like to ruin it for other reader's). I found this book to be absolutely riveting. I sat and read from cover to cover in one sitting because I couldn't put it down.

I was beyond fortunate to have requested an advanced reader's copy of Smoke in exchange for my honest and voluntarily given opinion and I would recommend reading this wonderfully written MC romance to everyone.

I am now impatiently awaiting for the next installment featuring Numbers.

Ms.. Adams is a very good romance writer. I've read a couple of her short stories. Her characters are believable and have strong personalities. I enjoyed reading Smoke it was a good story. If you like romance and MC background I think you will like reading her new Rebel Saints series. But I would suggest reading them in order. I gave the book four stars.
Smoke had a one night stand twelve years ago with Naomi which resulted in Smoke finding out he has a eleven years old son. With Gavin asking about his father, Naomi decides its time to move back to Mississippi so Gavin can meet his father and maybe somewhat have a family which Naomi never had growing up. I liked how Smoke handles the news. At first he is shocked and kind of mad at Naomi for not telling him. He knows that Gavin is his son and he wants to get to know son after missing out on so much of his young life. Also Smoke comes to realizes that Naomi has some trust issues from growing up in the system. As Smoke gets to know his son, he soon realize he wants to get to know Naomi too. He wants them to become a real family. But there are some things that the club has to deal with first.
There are a couple of background stories going on with the Saints members and the rival MC club.

This was the second book in the Rebel Saints MC series
We follow the life of Smoke President of Rebel Saints MC and Naomi who has just moved back to Holbeck. Smoke & Naomi had a hot, steamy one night stand 12 years before she turns up at his door one day with surprising news that, quite frankly, shakes Smoke’s world!
There was sizzling chemistry between Smoke and Naomi, there was a building love and closeness of family.
A very real Second Chance Romance.
I loved the sense of family you got from the MC like you did in the first book Bones, the secondary characters provided some interest, entertainment and intrigue.
This book is a standalone I found having read Bones first gave me a better understanding of the MC .
Highly recommended you read this book.

3 Stars: Kindle Unlimited Read

Where I felt something was missing in book one, I didn't get that disconnected feeling from the second installment. Yes, it still involved the MC but it was like the MC was an after thought or just there like a group of men that are just friends. There wasn't truly any function to the MC. This was focused on Smoke and his 12 year past coming back with an 11 year old in tow.

I like the the story evolved around Smoke and him becoming a first time dad to a ready made son. It also focuses in the relationship he builds with his son and now ol' lady.

The only driving force of the club was Inks knock over the head. They thought it might be relayed to the club. In a way it was. It just wasn't who the club (not the readers) expected.

Over all, I liked the romance building.

Smoke is book two in Rebel Saints MC series and I could not put it down. Hot sexy biker and a sweet single mother. This book can be read as a standalone or in order of the series. Lily J Adams is a fantastic writer where the reader gets entranced into the story.
Smoke never expected the change he would soon experience when he woke up one morning to get ready for the day. Hailey knew it was time for her to introduce her son to his father.
This book describes a brotherhood of men who are a family, the hardship and choices a parent makes for the good of their child, love, heat, passion, and suspense. I cant not wait for the next book in this series... I absolutely love these sexy protective biker men..

Smoke is the second book in the Rebel Saints MC series. Naomi is a college student and a single mom to Gavin. Smoke works in construction, is a member of the Rebel Saints motorcycle club and is, unknowingly, father to Gavin. While trying to give Gavin a chance to get to know his dad, they discover they might like to get to know each a little better too.

There is tension with another motorcycle club, an attack on a fellow Rebel Saint, and some shady things happening at the club where Naomi works , as well as family bonding and a steamy relationship . There is plenty happening to keep a reader interested. I am looking forward to the next book.

This is the second installment of the Rebel Saints MC series. While you can read this as a standalone, I would definitely still suggest you start with Book 1 so as to get a better understanding of the MC. The storyline captured my interest and pulled me in from the start. This story is about Smoke and Naomi. These two had a very memorable one night stand and 12 years later she shows up in his life with a surprise. These two were great together and had amazing chemistry and I enjoyed the banter between the two. Ms. Adam's did a beautiful job of bringing the story and emotions to life with the detailed and vivid descriptions. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more of this series!

This was the second book in the rebel saints MC series.
Smoke’s life is considerably changed when Naomi shows up on his doorstep.
This was a feel good read
Smoke and Naomi had heaps of chemistry and the bond between Gavin and Smoke was priceless.
This was a reminder that sometimes people need a second chance.
Once again I loved the sense of family you got from the MC and the secondary characters you want to invest in too.
Although this is a standalone I found that having read Bones first gave me a better understanding of the MC and what it stood for.
Worth the read.

This is the 2nd book in this amazing series and is Smoke and Naomi’s story. These two had a 1-night stand 12-years previously, and when she shows up on his doorstep with their son Gavin, he is shocked. Gavin has been asking question about his dad and Naomi decides it is time to introduce them. The chemistry between Smoke and Naomi is sizzling and undeniable, but will they get a 2nd chance at love? This is a well written story which is heartwarming, humorous, and with witty banter, which all leads to an entertaining and all-consuming tale, which had me intrigued and hooked throughout. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

You may never get a second chance to make a first impression, but you can get a second chance at love - if you’re willing to take the chance and work at it. Smoke finds out he has a son - 12 years after a one-night stand. He and Naomi have to work to become a family for their son, Gavin. It is a rocky road but the process feels real. They both have fears and concerns to work through. Both characters made me feel things - Smoke is not “just a biker” and Naomi is neither a doormat nor easy just because she has a job as a stripper to make ends meet. Good story. Great relationships.

Love these Rebel Saints...
This second in series features Smoke. a one night stand & their 11 year old son he didn't know existed. Naomi returns to her home town with her son. She's a stripper as the hours fit whilst she is still studying but she can barely makes ends meet. Her son asks about his Dad & she seeks him out as she'd love them to form a relationship. Once he's over the shock Smoke wants to get to know his son & the admiration he has for Naomi grows as does his attraction. Against a backdrop of danger can they find a path to a second chance? I received an arc & this is my honest & voluntary review.

I enjoyed book 2 of this series. This isn’t your typical MC series but there are quite a few clubs that are on the straight and narrow.
It’s a standalone book but I liked the small update on Bones from book 1.
Smoke and Naomi’s second chance love was great. For her showing up out the blue dropping her bombshell, I think he handled the situation well and I’m glad he stepped up. The crazy turn of events will have you guessing and turning page after page to get the information. Looking forward to the next book and member that’s destined to fall in love.

This book was pretty good also but a lot shorter... not a problem. Smoke gets the surprise of a lifetime..... congratulations.... it's a boy and he is 11 yrs old. He's not a 5 yrs old like he seems to be.

The only reason I'm saying anything about this is because it's in almost every review I read so it's not a secret....A one night stand @12 yrs old.... Smoke had forgot about her but she couldn't forget him. Her son was asking about his Dad so she moved back to town....he was pissed off at first but you can't blame him.... they have a lot to make up for.....off to bed and start book 3 tomorrow....

second book in this series, you absolutely most read Bones, book 1, You will be transported into a world most of us only dream about and you won’t want to put it down till the last page, I promised. This story is filled with all the characters of the brotherhood but we focus specially on Smoke story and what a story it is. Believe me it is quite complicated, funny at time, sad at others but over all heartwarming. Can’t wait for the third one.

This is Another Interesting Ride with a Motorcycle Clubber

Meet Smoke, another good guy motorcycle club member, when he's taxed with meeting up with some unexpected results from his past. A twelve years past event that he barely remembers will have repercussions on his current lifestyle and have him stepping up and accepting his responsibilities. It's a story that will keep your interest as tempers flare and emotions are kindled between the characters. I received a free ARC copy for an honest review.

Overall, a delightful story. It was good to see Bones again. His cameos really added to Smoke's story. As with Bones's story, Smoke's and Naomi's lifestyles don't match  those of the many stories that I've read. But Lily J. Adams does a wonderful job of portraying people who are typically considered on the fringe of society in a positive light. Helping to break the stereotypes.

Entertaining. Happily Ever After. Haunting. Romantic. Scary. Steamy. Tragic. Unpredictable. Wonderful characters.

Book 2 of the series, can be read as a standalone, but better read in order with the background from book 1.

It took me a little longer to get into the story for this one. After the story started going I was hooked and wanted to know what was really going on.

There is danger in this one too. I enjoyed seeing the relationships build. Felt very honest and real in how characters reacted to what they were facing.

I received an advanced copy of this story and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

Twelve years ago, Smoke and Naomi had a one-night stand which led to a bundle of joy he knew nothing about. Now she is on his doorstep with said child and surprise Smoke is a father! His MC family was all he had to be concerned about until their arrival. Smoke is still captivated with Naomi but will having a child be enough for them to rekindle what they had that night twelve years ago to move forward to building a happily ever after? I voluntarily agreed to receive an ARC of this book for an honest review.

Lily keeps this MC series going with Smoke & Naomi’s story. 11 years ago, they shared a heated night and Smoke has wished on more occasion that he had gotten the college girl’s number. Well, he gets a shocker when she shows up and has a son that just happens to be his. How will this work out?
Great addition to the series well written with plenty of chemistry lots of action, drama and secrets. Well worth reading. I received an arc copy and this is my voluntary review.

Sweet romantic story

A sweet romantic story for Smoke and Naomi. It’s a solid story with a little MC drama and some other trouble for the main couple. Naomi shows up on Smoke’s door with their 11 year old son out of the blue. Smoke actually reacts pretty well. We didn’t get a scene from the wedding between Shade and Wila but it was alluded that it happened in the first chapter. Read on!

Pretty good

I finished this book in a couple of days. I like the back story of the Rebel Saints MC and of Smoke and Naomi but something feels like it is missing. Both books in the series are what I consider short reads which isn't a bad thing at all. Everything just feels either rushed or open ended. Regardless it was still a good book. Smoke and Naomi are both likeable characters and it's easy for them to bond over Gavin regardless of past mistakes.

Secret kid

It's fun reading a sweet MC series every once in a while! While these bikers are tough and take charge, they also show their sweet side with their families! What better way to sho this than with Smokes reaction to suddenly having a kid he didn't know about? The Rebel Saints are still struggling with the whole going "legit" business, but it seems to be working even when rivals are trying to tear their group apart... all while learning to be a dad...

4.5 stars - I enjoyed that the relationship between Naomi and Smoke developed in a realistic manner given their brief history. The pace of the story feels natural. I also enjoyed the addition of the Rebel Saints events that continue from the first book without being the primary focus. I look forward to the next book in this series.

Great drama and romance with wonderful world building.

A great read, couldn’t stop once I started it! Story centres around Smoke (Jay) from the Rebel Saints MC and Naomi - a lovely second chance romance with plenty of drama and chemistry. A one-night-stand 16 years ago resulted in Gavin, but Naomi had kept this a secret from Jay.
I received this book as an arc and this review is entirely voluntary.

Great story🖤🖤🖤

I loved this second book in the Rebel Saints MC series. I usually do not like this kind of heroine - one who doesn’t tell a father about a child even when they can make contact. But, the author wrote this character and weaved the story so well that I ended up really loving this little family. Can’t wait for the next one!

Smoke & Naomi

I enjoyed this addition to the Rebel Saints MC Series. I liked watching Smoke and Gavin’s relationship grow. Wasn’t a huge fan of Naomi though. Waiting 11 years to let someone know they were a father is awful, especially when there were no indications that he would be dangerous or an awful parent for the child.
