BE THIS BOOK IS FOR A MATURE AUDIENCE AND CONTAINS GRAPHIC SEX AND VIOLENCE. Sandra Sikes is a young woman trying to prove herself in a man's military. When she volunteers to work a confinement post nobody else wants, she finds herself locked in an abandoned building with only her hot coworker guarding the second floor, and a psychopath locked in a cell. This will be the longest and most horrific night of her life.
My name is Carver Pike. Since as far back as I can remember, I've been fascinated by everything horror. I'd sit cross-legged in front of the TV and watch The Texas Chainsaw Massacre while devouring a bowl of Kaboom cereal. I always wished the ghost at the end of each episode of Scooby-Doo wouldn't be just another man behind the mask. I wanted real ghastly ghouls, dastardly demons, and malevolent monsters.
At some point, I knew I couldn't sit back and keep watching this horror world from the stands. I wanted to be in the game. So, now I wield this virtual pen and sling ink onto this page with the hopes of someday being a major player. I want to create those worlds you visit, feed that fear that keeps you up late at night, and entertain you in ways only the greatest storytellers can.
Be advised, most of my books are very graphic in nature. Most contain strong violence, and some have very detailed sex scenes. I try to give you a warning in the book blurb.
Hopefully, we'll form a great author-reader relationship and you'll come to trust that Carver Pike will always keep you entertained.

Enjoyed this book with it's creepy mysterious prisoner. Being isolated at night in an abandoned building can make anyone question the shadows that they see.
Sandra has volunteered for the responsibility of watching over the mysterious prisoner, Redgrave. She is locked into a dimly lit, shabby building on base that has been hastily reopened to temporarily house the prisoner. She is not allowed a weapon, but it’s alright because Redgrave is securely confined and she has her lover, Chapman, who is on watch just upstairs. She makes her required rounds through the basement and first floor, pays Chapman a very friendly visit, and then settles in with a movie to make the time pass. Realizing her fatigue, Sandra fights to keep her eyes open. Falling asleep would be a very bad idea….
It has been a long time since I genuinely feared for a particular character in a book. So it was with Carver Pike’s Redgrave and the character of Sandra Sikes. This story killed me inside (in a good way). Pike’s writing is not for the faint of heart. Redgrave was a highly sexual and heart-wrenching read. The characters are rich, well-written, authentic, and very human. I cared what happened to them, especially Sandra. Pike’s writing is like a vice grip that slowly closes around you. He ratchets up the intensity of each consecutive scene as Sandra (and you) experience her night of terror. You will feel claustrophobia in this book. Redgrave is an unsettling read with full-on nail-biting tension that seeps deep into your bones.
Carver gives such a chilling read with Redgrave. Is it paranoia? Is it sleep deprivation? Or is someone really on the loose?
Sandra embarks on a long night of sex, checking the facility, and making sure the prisoner remains locked up.
I liked the steady pacing of the night. It was a pleasant read to get hints of fear and dread while staying in reality. When everything unfolds, the climax doesn’t slow down at all.
It’s graphic, but worth while. My second read of Carver’s, but certainly not my last.
Wow. I’m not sure what to write in this review. I definitely don’t want to give anything away. It was suspenseful and edge of the seat for sure. It’s a short book, but I felt invested the way I would with a novel. Well done. Carver Pike doesn’t disappoint.
