This book didn't work for me. In the first chapter they have sex in an airport janitor's closet. Then don't see or talk to each other for weeks.

When they meet up again it's because of a bombing and they need her dog to sniff around.

I didn't feel like either of them truly "liked" the other person.

Alix Broshears with the Xtreme Ops military team stationed in Alaska as part of Homeland Security found Vivian Valentine drinking alone at the bar in the airport at Anchorage. She was on her way home after a difficult search and rescue with her K-9, Zack. Her and Alix had worked together a couple of times in the past and had not gotten a long particularly well, so she was not real thrilled to see him take the bar stool beside her. It got worse, when he challenged her to a drinking contest. She was barely five feet with him over six feet, but there was no way she would let him get a head of her. Three drinks in, he decided maybe his decision had not been very wise. He took her for a walk around the airport, got her some food and water trying to sober her up some. Then all of a sudden they were both overtaken with desire, and they ended up in an airport janitors closet doing the deed. Neither one knew what came over them, but they never told another soul and did not see each other for months. Then there was a house explosion, they ended up working together on. Vivian thought the band writing on some of the evidence looked familiar, but she could not place where she seen it before. The second explosion was only blocks from her home, so she was first on the scene. When she found the man inside he was in the same position her father was when he died on the job. She tried to save him but was not successful. She and Alix were spending more and more time together learning that the airport incident was not a fluke for them. They were truly beginning to care for each other. They were now down to searching postal warehouses for explosives, when they found the next package. That was when Vivian put all the pieces together, and she knew who was sending the bombs. They went to check out her lead where her K-9 got hurt saving Alix, but the story was far from over, there was still plenty more. Alix was all in to admit his love for Vivian, but Vivian was not ready as she had lost to many loved ones in her young life. Another of the team members has to learn to continue on without the woman he loves. An action packed story that you will keep you on the edge of your chair until you finish.

I think this is my favorite story in the series so far. Alix and Vivian are two workaholics that understand each other and fit together like puzzle pieces. I'm struggling with not giving away important or interesting details of the story. Let's see....hmmmm....Vivian never thought to fall in love because she's been hurt before and her crazy work schedule combined with being in near-constant danger makes a relationship very difficult. Wiat! That could be the same summary for Alix! They spend time together and get to know each other as people and realize that there might be more there than just co-workers. Overall, it's a very satisfying love story.

I liked the bad guy in this book. Not to give anything away but Vivian has no fear and tends to run straight into whatever danger is out there. When the bad guy hits close to home, Vivian is right there. Alix is Mr. Protective but he can't get Vivian to stop running into danger. Alix has a past that he'd rather not talk about non-stop. The thing is, it doesn't define him. There's a little sub-plot in the book about his past. The author gives it a really nice conclusion.

My bottom line is that the book made me smile. I was cheering on the couple the whole time. Alix isn't so perfect as to be impossible to believe but he is pretty perfect (just saying). Vivian is smart. In other words, she's not stupid (yes, those are not the same things). The only thing that bugged me about the story was their size difference. Yeah, yeah, I'm weird like that. He's supposed to be humongous and she's supposed to be small but there are points in the book where I didn't get that impression (not to be graphic but when a really tall guy hugs a really short woman, the special magical parts don't line up quite the same way they do on similarly sized people). Now I'm going to whine a little. I missed the guys from the crew being a big part of the story but (sorry guys) they weren't actually necessary for this story.

I recommend this book to anyone that wants a fast-paced story with a contemporary setting. It takes place in Alaska but it's not a particularly Alaskan story. I also think if you like smart characters that this would be a good book choice.

Xtreme Behaviour is the third book in Em Petrova’s Xtreme Ops series and nothing about this story disappoints. From the outset it is fast-paced, intense, dangerous and loaded with so much sizzling chemistry you’re ready to explode! If there is one thing that really gets my motor running, it is the in-depth descriptions of these Alpha men and their tendency to be aloof and stoic until the right woman crosses their path.

Everything about Alix Broshears will make readers swoon, from his imposing and glorious physical attributes to the dimple that only appears when you least expect it. And let’s not forget about the capable, fierce and deeply independent Vivian Valentine who provides Alix with more than just a few lewd and erotic dreams as she continually circles his orbit. Vivian and Alix are characters who own their space, but both have demons they need to exorcise before they can move forward and grab happiness with both hands, but will their undeniable attraction be the end to their careers?

No story that involves this much testosterone is complete without villains and danger, and Xtreme Behaviour has both in spades. Fast-paced from the very first page, this is a story that you best not start late at night or you won’t be getting much sleep as the suspense and Alix’s sexual prowess will ensure you can’t put it down till the last page is turned.

Xtreme Behaviour is one of my favourite reads by Ms Petrova and the addition of Zack, Aries and Freedom delivered an extra layer to an already intense and seriously entertaining read. The only negative is I now have to patiently await the next in the series (not likely) before I can read about the sexy Texan and his family drama.

“Xtreme Behavior” is book number 3 in the Xtreme Ops series by Em Petrova. They are interconnected stand-alones and they all have a few things in common – great characters, fast-paced action, and enough sizzling hot chemistry to melt some Alaskan tundra. The camaraderie of the special forces teammates has a very natural feel to it.

Vivian is a petite, tough as nails and beautiful K-9 handler whose biggest fear is not catching every dangerous threat she and her partner, German Shepherd Zack, possibly can. Alix is an intense Special Operative with phenomenal skills and all kinds of characteristics that Vivian finds incredibly attractive. When he is irritated with her, Vivian thinks, “He sounded like somebody peed in the bowl of nuts and bolts he must grind up for breakfast every morning instead of cereal.” Em Petrova writes so well she manages to convey sound, emotion, physical attraction and humor all in that sentence! After the covert closet encounter that takes place between them, Vivian and Alix try to fight the attraction … and I’m not spilling any secrets when I say that is one mission they both fail at spectacularly.

I really enjoyed this book so much! It had an excellent plot with a good amount of suspense and drama, nicely balance by humorous moments. The author's seamless writing style kept me engaged from start to finish. I was actually sorry when it ended because I really wanted to read more about Vivian and Alix, and even Zack.

Hot and Heavy Under “Xtreme” Circumstances
“Xtreme Behavior” is the third book in Em Petrova’s Xtreme Ops series, and I must say that my first exposure to the author’s work was a pleasure. I love romances with action and suspense, and this story absolutely did not disappoint. Alix Broshears is an elite operative working for Homeland Security, and he is everything an alpha hero should be – smart, intense, larger than life, bossy, and ultra-sexy! He meets his match in K-9 search and rescue handler Vivian Valentine, who is as strong and brave as she is beautiful; she’s a pint-sized woman with a huge heart and a set of brass ones! I was at turns enchanted by the growing connection and off-the-charts chemistry between these two, and on the edge of my seat as they deal with the dangers of their respective professions. I was a little concerned when I realized I was reading the middle book in an established series because I often feel like I’m missing huge pieces of the historical puzzle, but Ms. Petrova did an excellent job of hinting at the previous stories (and setting the stage for the upcoming books) while still ensuring that “Xtreme Behavior” can be enjoyed as a standalone. She dedicated time to creating believable characters with strong bonds – even with their furry, four-legged team members. I am absolutely in love with Alix’s Xtreme Ops teammates – particularly Hepburn – and I am now “on a mission” (See what I did there? Haha) to find the other titles in this series. I am officially a new fan!

Petrov doesn't miss a beat unleashing one helluva boot-stomping, smackdown with this incredibly tumultuous rock-my-world rollercoaster, breaking out all the badassery and mettle with such aplomb, launching this gem to staggering heights. One heart pounding, pulse racing, adrenaline pumping, nailbiting, jaw dropping, spine tingling, block busting bombshell, putting our characters through their paces wrapping this jewel up sleek, shiny and tight. A churning vortex chocked-full of formidable struggles and challenging triumphs, while attentive to the perilous twists and wicked turns unfolding, sketchy lines and crushed perimeters solidify as limitations are amplified and tested, secrets are revealed and revelations are unearthed, fusing this bad boy together seamlessly. The attraction and chemistry collides with such intensity and ardor, exploding with boundless emotions and infinite affections, bringing our characters closer, uniting them together beautifully. The characters, interactions and charged atmosphere along with relatable qualities and individual traits add depth and diversity, transforming into amazing personalities. Another great story in this series

This book has everything I love about military romances - alpha heroes, self-rescuing women and romantic suspense. This tale is a wonderful balance of love and danger. This is the 3rd book in the Xtreme Ops series. It has a little bit of everything - sweet moments, fan your face steam, dangerous heart stopping action, strong team dynamics, awesome dogs, and even a few chuckles. So expect to laugh, swoon, cry, gasp, cringe, and cheer. Alix Broshears is the member of the Xtreme Ops team based in Alaska. Vivian Valentine is a K-9 handler who works on rescues, bomb locating and drug sniffing. Vivian and her dog, Zack, have worked with Alix’s team on occasion. A chance encounter at an airport with a bit of alcohol mixed in lead to a steamy encounter between the two. A serial bomber brings them into more frequent contact and propels their relationship further. As the story unravels, the loving moments between Alix and Vivian are beautifully woven into the intrigue and danger around the bombings. As they work together to investigate the explosives, their feelings for each other continue to grow. I love a book with a sexy alpha hero but I also love one that includes a sexy, smart heroine too rather than a damsel in distress. This book does a great job giving us two strong main characters who balance each other perfectly, grow into the relationship, and work together to make it to forever. I am excited to read the next book in this series.

Extreme Behavior is Book three in the Extreme Ops Series and this is the story of Alix Broshears a Secret Op agent and Vivian Valentine a K9 handler in the Alaskan wilderness and surrounding mountains. Alix and Vivian run into each other at the airport and share several tequila shots and end up in a janitors closet for some much needed “hanky panky” that they may or may not later regret. Down road a ways they end up working together on the same case...finding the person that is sending letter bombs to people that are/were connected to the Alaskan pipeline the case is an all out alert this killer/killers MUST be tracked, caught and or destroyed before anyone else is harmed or worse. This story is fast paced, action packed, suspenseful with its share of danger, fear, trauma and heaps of drama to go around with some bumps in the road along the way. From the first word you can’t set this book aside. So much red hot chemistry between Vivian and Alix you can almost smell the smoke 😂😂. You will be hanging on the edge of your seat reading faster than you thought possible in order to find out what the heck could possibly happen next! This is a must read an excellent addition to anyone’s library. But, make sure you have ample time on your hands cause you are not going to want to set it down for any amount of time. Alix and Vivian’s chemistry is hot enough to start a bonfire! Both are very well versed and dedicated in their chosen careers that often intersect. Sometimes they are called on to work together in the pursuit of terrorists, Alix and his Special Ops team, Vivian and her K-9 partner Zack..They are often at odds and argue constantly, but both can’t forget their ultra hot hookup in a maintenance closet at the airport. Weeks later they work together on another case that seems to jar them both. Something about this case is familiar to Vivian, and that fact and a certain sexy and persistent Special Operative have her on edge. As they work together to find the perpetrator things between them become very intimate and passionate again, something that surprises them both. Neither are usually into relationships. Both become aware that some deeper feelings may be involved, but when he wants to take things up a notch, Vivian is not so eager or ready to do so. Will they ever be on the same wavelength and ready to commit, or is this an end to their personal relationship? Read this fast-paced, suspense-filled book to discover the answers.

A wonderfully successful, exciting, unexpected story.

The female lead is an independent woman who moves in a man's world and has to be tough. With her dog Zack she gets into situations that are not easy, especially when they hit her because the resemblance to the death of her father is very close. Closer than she ever imagined.

Alix works with the Xtreme Ops team and is involved in the same case. He is an alpha man through and through and has a soft spot for Vivian.
And no matter how hard they fight against the obvious chemistry, when something happens to Zack, Vivian needs Alix badly.

Perhaps the most beautiful thing about this story is to read how Vivian and Zack do their job. Nice to see that there is such a relationship of trust between dog and owner. And how smart the dog is. But also what the work does to the handler. To lead the dog but have to deal with the emotions yourself if a person is found dead or when you get into a dangerous situation with your dog.

A romance but also an exciting story full of action and suspence. Highly recommended

3.25 Stars. Alix Broshears takes the leading role this time. From the last book you know he has a thing for the K-9 handler, Vivian, whom assists Operation Freedom Flag Alaska Tundra on certain assignments. What I didn’t expect was their chance meeting at the airport and the extremely hot scene that followed. What a way to start a book!
The books in this series plots are similar with strong heroines that find themselves in danger that requires rescuing from the alpha males of Xtreme Ops. Even with alike plots, the patterns of the storylines differ, which I appreciate.
This time the terrain of Alaska doesn’t play a role. Surprisingly, the villains are identified rather early on and the story centers more on the relationship between Alix and Vivian then suspense. Vivian, all 5 feet nothing of her, puts herself in danger situations with no regards to herself or Zack. Her reckless actions and baffled decision making (especially regarding Alix) kept me from relating to her character. I also felt there were too many detailed sex scenes, which took away storyline, instead of enhancing it.
I hope the author balances the romance and intrigue better in the next book.

Vivian Valentine is a dog rescue handler who sometimes ends up working with the Xtreme Ops team to track a fugitive...so when she sees Alix Broshears at the airport, having a couple of margaritas with him may not have been her best choice, nor was the two of them finding a janitor's closet to scratch an itch....but on the job they were both intent on their respective jobs. In this case, finding the person or persons who were sending out letter bombs. She brought her best tracker, a German Shepherd named Zack, who had a knack of not only smelling bomb materials but illicit drugs as well...and Alix brought his guns, size, speed and lethal knowledge...along with the ability to irritate Vivian with his smirk and a flirty flash of a dimple...but neither forgot about the janitor's closet...so you will need to read this twisting turning train wreck to see if the bomber can be found before taking out one of the team...I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

"Xtreme Behavior", book 3 in the Xtreme Ops series by author Em Petrova, was everything I thought it would be and so much more. I have read every single book written by this author and have been a fan of hers for years. While I have enjoyed reading every book authored and witnessing her evolutionas an author, I truly feels that writing military romantic suspense series is the trope where she truly comes alive and shines. Em Petrova has a gift for developing solid plot lines and characters that are easy for readers to become invested in. Both her male and female lead characters are truly likeable, strong in character / morals, and have careers and backstories that are fascinating to read. Her leads are well paired and their sexual chemistry is explosive. More importantly though, her storylines flow seamlessly and it is easy to get caught up in the adventure and cheering for true love to prevail.

"Xtreme Behavior" has all of these components. I devoured this book in one sitting and again find myself eagerly awaiting the next book in the series.

This is one of my favorite books by Em Petrova, and no, I don't have just one favorite, but this one is definitely one of them. This book has lots of chemistry and XTreme heat between the two main characters, but also is an exciting story with lots of suspense and twists and turns. Alix is part of am XTreme Ops Team that faces danger all the time. Vivian is a dog handler that does search and rescue, as well as finding explosives, so she is called on frequently to assist Alix's team. This story takes place in Alaska, which brings on its dangers also. I would also be remiss if I did not mention Zack, Vivian's dog, that was there through everything, and was a very important part of the book. Amongst all that danger, fear, and suspense is also love, intense chemistry, and emotions, that are part of a great story that I did not want to put down. I highly recommend this book.

I seriously need to stop the habit of starting to read this author's books in the evening! My eyes get so blurry but I can't fall asleep thinking about what will happen next!

This is a seriously spicy read! It starts in the Prologue so re-reading several pages right from the beginning aren't looking good for an early to bed night! I LOVE Alix Broshears! He is HOT, HOT, HOT! There were a few funny scenes, touching scenes and poignant scenes as well. This book had them all. The only disappointment, it ended!!!!

While this is book number three of the series, you don't have to read the prior stories to fully enjoy this one BUT why would you skip them? They are throughly wonderful stories.

The good news, the first few books slipped by my notice so I was able to read them back-to-back. Now I'm off for the next book.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone over the age of 18. If you love alpha, take control type of ex-military men but with a heart of gold, with an equally strong female, then look no further. This book (the series) will satisfy to your heart's content!

This is the first book I've read in this series. I love books with alpha males who are a little cocky but come up against their match with a strong female character. Alix is a Special Operative and Vivian is a K-9 handler. After one of the times when they work together, they're both at the airport and one thing leads to another - with a very steamy encounter in the janitor's closet.

Of course it is inevitable that they work together in the future and when they do, the attraction is still there. They are thrown together as they investigate a series of explosions and there are some twists when the clues lead someone that Vivian knows. But what is the reason for the bombs and are there more to be found?

These are two strong willed characters and it was fun watching their interactions with each other - from fighting their attraction to Alix taking Vivian to task with her "reckless" actions. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

The sparks fly between Vivian and Alix every time they are around each other. When they meet up in an airport things go to the extreme between them. Alix thinks he is just a one stop for Vivian but he cannot forget her when he realizes he will be working with her and her K9 dog he wants her bad! Vivian wants to catch a bomber and sets out to do this. This is an irresistibly hot romance. It is an emotionally charged, adrenaline filled, steamy and passionate read. A series that is everything a true fan of romance and intrigue that a person would want. It has explicit, wild, sexual encounters. It is a steamy action packed walk on the wild side. It is rough and gentle all at once. Delightful and super sexy - lots of twists and turns. Consider me obsessed with this series. Cover to cover it is a great read! There is drool worthy charm here that pulls your heart strings. An absolute treat to read in a sexy smoking way. I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily choosing to review.

Alix works with Xtreme Ops a military team in Alaska for Homeland Security. Vivian works with a K-9 unit on search and rescue. After a tough day at work Vivian is having a drink at a bar when Alix comes in. Sparks fly between them and its not long before they give into temptation. They share a steamy night together and go their separate ways. When hey meet again they are both working on the same mission and Vivian starts to wonder if she might know who is behind the crimes that they are investigating. As they begin their search Alix and Vivian get closer to each other. Will this mission have them coming out together as a couple? Can they safely catch who they are after?

This is an amazing story once I started it I couldn't put it down. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Alix Broshears loves nothingbetter than irking and challenging Vivian Valentine. She knows how easily gets to her and yet she rises to the bait every time. As part of Alaska Search & Rescue, Viv and her K9 partner Zack routinely work with the Xtreme Ops team. Truth be told both Alix and Viv feel their attraction and once in a moment of weakness give into it. Oh, what a moment it was too! Now someone is sending bombs through the mail and two have already died. Vivian may have ties to the suspect. Once she provides information the Xtreme team digs into the case. Alix worries about Viv's rash behavior of trying to go it alone or rushing in without weighing consequences. Falling in love is not something either of them ever imagined yet here they are. Of course you have to know that there's a good measure of drama and suspense mixed in along with danger in this romance. It's worth your while to read it.

This is the third book in the Xtreme Ops series. I've enjoyed this series and loved every book but I think Vivian and Alix story has to be my favorite so far. These two have heat and serious chemistry between them but Alix is a by the book follow commands kind of guy and for good reason too. Vivian is a little more fly by the seat of your pants, not thinking things through properly kinds person, she does what she needs to, to get the job done. You'd think these two would mix about as well as oil and water but they work and compliment each other even if they're both stubborn and butt heads every time they're near each other. Well written story, with lots of steamy times and plenty of suspense and action, if you like this in a book you'll love this one.

Broshears and Valentine 4 ½ stars - Vivian is a K-9 handler who usually works with the Xtreme Ops team. What was supposed to be a one-night thing turned into a ‘can’t keep my hands off you’ thing the more times they are thrown together to investigate the bombings. Author knows how to heat up a kindle and a closet. Steam comes off the pages every time Alix and Vivian couldn’t help themselves. The dangers that Vivian keeps running to frustrates Alix to no end. Relationship conflict was due to Vivian’s doubts and inability to trust which didn’t help Alix’s cause in getting Vivian on the same page as him. Danger finally caught up to Vivian. Will Alix be able to get to her in time? This is an exciting story with a lot of steam. I received an advanced copy and voluntarily chose to review it.

This series keeps getting better. I really like that these books feature Alpha men who fall for strong women.

Vivian has some demons to overcome, including an issue with reacting before really thinking through an outcome. But, her issues are all tied together.

She and Alix have a lot in common. Strong, intelligent and both with dangerous jobs. They fit well as a couple, and had great chemistry. It also includes some romance as well as steamy moments.

This was a fast paced, action filled, suspenseful book that didn't take the turn I was expecting, but did come up with a different twist. Based on what I was thinking, it was unexpected, yet at the same time, I could see it being completely obvious.

Xtreme Ops does it again, and helps to lead Alix and Vivian to their HEA.

This story focuses on Vivian Valentine, a K-9 handler and special operative in the Xtreme Ops team, Alix Broshears. They had an unforgettable time together and they still have to work with each other looking for explosives. The feelings they have for each other only get stronger. I like that the suspense and the romance in this story is just right. The story was well-paced and flowed well. I like the characters. Vivian is strong and independent although not being entirely true to herself with regards to what she feels towards Alix. I like that Alix did not deny himself where Vivian was concerned. He is protective of her. And I also like Zack. He is such a good partner for Vivian. I truly enjoyed reading this story. I love this series and I look forward to reading the next story.

From start to finish, this book will pull the readers in and keep them fully invested in the story line. It is filled with danger, but likewise with sizzling chemistry and strong emotions from within the characters. This action-packed romance will not disappoint.

Alix Broshears is an elite operative working for Homeland Security. He is a strong personality and the very definition of an alpha hero. He has a good match in his partner, a K-9 search and rescue handler, Vivian Valentine, who is strong and pretty much fearless. Sparks indeed fly as Alix and Vivian work together to solve a series of bomb explosions resulting in numerous deaths. This series just gets better and better with each new story. Every time I see a new book out by Em, I grab it because I know it’s going to have a great storyline and wonderful characters that are strong, independent, intelligent and captivating. Alix Broshears is an operative for the Xtreme Ops team in Alaska. Vivian Valentine is a K9 handler and they have worked together on various missions. They have an antagonist relationship, but with underlying feelings that finally surface. Fast paced, action packed with danger, suspense and some intense chemistry between the two that developed into so much more. Loved it and I am looking forward to all the Xtreme Ops men getting their own stories. Thanks Em for another very entertaining read.

Ali’s Broshears is a intense men learn out of all of the men on the team, but when things get between himself and Vivian he became even more intense. Damien is high strung and has a need to be more like her father, but puts herself and others in danger with how she handles it. She’s afraid of her feelings for Alix, but can’t stay away from him. Alix cares for her when she needs it and pushes her when he knows she can be better. That’s the perfect relationship and she almost loses it in the end, but he fights for her and they all win. These Xtreme Ops guys are intense all on their own, but when they meet their partner in life, they go to the extremes to take care of them no matter what. I cannot wait to see what happens next.

Alix can’t forget that night they spent together and as they work closely on the latest assignment, they can’t help but give into the blazing attraction between them. Danger is never far and Vivian can’t help herself as she rushes head long into the danger zone with Alix doing everything he can to reign in the headstrong risk taker. When Vivian reveals just how close to home the threat is, Alix is determined to keep her by his side. But demons from Vivian’s past leave her pushing Alix away and when she gets captured, Alix will do whatever it takes to rescue the woman who has stolen his heart. Can Vivian get through to the madman from her past before he takes his revenge or will she lose the chance to be able to tell Alix how she really feels?

Rushing to know

Alix and Vivian and of course K9 Zack. Their chemistry was known from the end of the previous book, but witnessed for the first time with their airport meeting at the beginning of this book. The danger was unknown, but sparked a memory for Vivian. As they worked together the emotions grew and we saw why Alix was so protective. Vivian surprised me with her view of life and love at first, but once danger found her and the team came to rescue things got back on track. Cora got to witness some heartfelt moments again and the rest of the team waa more present and active in this story. I love the stories with K9s and this book introduced three of them so I hope we see them and Cason in another book! It was fast paced and entertaining. Can’t wait for the next story!

The chemistry and heat vied with emotion for first place…

This book just captured me from the opening pages. Alix and Vivian had skated around each other for a while but work stress and tension had to be let out somehow and these two… Well, they were work-enemies no longer. The heat between them had no limits yet the unexpectedness of it rocked them both. Scared to admit that what they had was more than physical, that didn’t prevent them from giving in to their unspoken feelings. Throw in K-9 companions, laughter and tears and this story had me smiling all the way through… Drama, heart, suspense – their romance had it all in one of my favourite reads this year.
