From an early age Lola Faust's fantasies and reveries tilted towards the unusual and the eccentric. Though she entertained curious private journals, it wasn't until she entered the Paleontology program at the University of British Columbia that her romantic notions concerning dinosaurs took full flight.

While working towards her doctorate, Ms Faust began writing her signature saurian prose. Today she is employed by day at a leading university in her field, but maintains her anonymous and risque personality online.

This was absurd but less fun than I hoped

I needed something to listen to while I did my taxes, and since this is set in Canada, I figured it was appropriate… a life well lived is full of bad decisions…

So our heroine Tannis gets it on with a sentient dinosaur named Big Al, an electro engineer ‘bad boy’ with a honky tonk haircut who loves the taste of her blood. They communicate with each other in thoughts and pictures and through their mutual lust. Then they set off on an adventure that often made me feel like my brain wasn’t working. Honestly, I checked my carbon monoxide detector to be sure I wasn’t oxygen deprived. During their adventure, Tannis gets shot in the arm and it needs amputating, her dino-lover chews it off and eats the stump of her injured arm - this is described in great detail.

This is -by far- the weirdest thing I’ve ever read, and I’ve read some crazy, crazy shit. It was too distasteful to be funny; descriptions of his fishy smell and meaty breath made me want to heave. But there was lots and lots of descriptive dinosaur sex that I had trouble picturing in my head. This isn’t a shifter story, as many dino-erotica, he is a full on 10 ft allosaurus and they do it in dino form. I’d describe it for you but I’m not ready to talk about it. I may never be.

Kudos to the narrator for even doing this, I hope you are ok. Maybe we should set up a GoFundMe for her so she doesn’t have to take these kinds of jobs in future.
That cover though 🤌🏻.

Thanks to NetGalley for the advanced copy of this audiobook in exchange for my honest review. 🦖

I have not heard much about this book but when my friend David asked me to read and review it, I could not say no. I bought a Kindle, I bought the book and I dived in!

Now I was pretty sure there was a deeper meaning to it. It bugged me because I was pretty sure there was one. I squeezed my brain and went back to my third year psychology lectures when our instructor explained how Sigmund Freud believed the snake is connected to our sexual energy. He defined the snake as a “phallic symbol” that is connected to male figures in one's life. It can be associated with a “male reproductive organ” and the way in which a male is attracted to a female in life. So was that it? I was not yet convinced so when I came to shelf this on GR, the picture became crystal clear for me. This was book number 666 that I read!!!!

The Number 666 is "The Number of the Beast" and a number that is often associated with the Devil. I was relieved because the Devil tried to whisper in my ears but I came out of this a better man.

So what is this book about? Is it worth the 3 dollars that I spent on it?
The book actually has more than one story, 2 to be exact. Some Sexcerpts from the full catalog, Sex secrets of the Saurians, Some Dino Love Tips and finally a sneak peak to The Elf & The Milf.

*** Wet Hot Allosaurus Summer*** by Lola Faust.

This is the main story, the book is named after it. It follows our Heroine Tanis, who lives in a farm with her oppressive father and who spends her day fantasizing about dinosaurs. According to the author Talins also "inherited her mother’s generous breasts" so there's some serious characterization thrown in the book. Talins then meet Big Al and her life is changed.

If you're wondering why would someone love a dinosaur, read this description and tell me how they can't:

His eyes were the deep green of oceans she had only imagined in her dreams. His cheekbones looked carved from prehistoric cliffs. His feather ‘do was coiffed in a sexy and hip honky-tonk curl.

After their meeting, all kind of drama takes place and I don't want to spoil things but Talins is bleeding and Big Al takes her to save her. They have sex of course because what's more romantic than that.

Now let's discuss a few points:
Scientifically it was well researched and we get an explanation to why there are dinosaurs in the world and how can they communicate with humans.

Character wise, the characters bleeds off the pages (Quite literally). Big Al is a very relatable and well written as shown in this quote:

He studied to be an electrical engineer and moved north because the tar sands offered him the best salary. He would’ve rather worked in dinosaur-human communications technology, but the money wasn’t there.

The plot is there somewhere, the ending of chapter 1 made me go WTF because it was most effed up I ever read. At least till I reached the end of chapter 2 because that left me more effed up with all the questions in the world.

The story is a heavy one though with the themes of oppression, different power dynamics, Change versus tradition, coming of age, Convention and rebellion, Desire to escape, heartbreaks and betrayals, Loss of innocence (mine at least), Love and sacrifice, Man against nature, Manipulation, Technology in society.

*** Lord Bartholomew's Ankylosaur Love*** By Ambrosia Penance

This follows Lord Bart, a gentleman, a poet, a man hungry for love. Lord Bart's is just looking for the right woman for him, he likes muscular women with big thighs who can crush his face between them. What more can a man ask for?!

“Lady Agatha, my German cake
Your body is rich as cocoa Hot -
fresh from the kettle,
boiled Over the fire of my loins
Join me at the warm
hearth
In my bedroom
Let the heat bake us both
Between the sheets.”

This story takes place in a different world than the first story so dinosaur's are not a normal thing. But when one is discovered, all of Lord Bart's dreams come true. The End!

The writing in this one is a bit more purple and I kind of preferred Faust's writing. There is a continuation of the story in the next volumes as far as I understood so there's something to look for. The story kind of ends with a cliffhanger so beware before you read it.

The rest of the Sexcerpts and advice and stuff are short so I can't go into them. I will leave it to you dear reader to discover them.

P.S The book does have good illustrations of dinosaurs but I don't know who the illustrator was. They were thrown out in the book in random places which kind of adds to the level of excitement for the readers. (And less work for the editor).

P.P.S: There seems to be a discrepancy between the ratings here and on Amazon. Amazon reviewers seem to love it with five stars ratings. GR reviewers are not that nice apparently.

Summary: An epic tale of love and bestiality that makes me confused why I read it. I need some holy water or a good purification method because I need to retrieve some of my lost innocence.

He ATE her ARM off 🦖

“There was something deathly sexy about watching Big Al consume a part of her like a tasty, meaty protein bar…”

Like. EXCUSE ME ??

But I will say it was wet. There were a lot of fluids. Coming from places the heroine didn’t know existed.

Was it hot? No. Everything smelled like fish beer and smoke ??? Just the wording in this book is nasty and they met a lot of nasty people. Lots of stale spunk.

Things I’ll never be able to forget:

Exhibit A: Meaty sauna of his breath
Exhibit B: A glorious and primordial stink
Exhibit C (????): Green sheathed ears of corn blushed out from the stalks like hard, uncircumcised penises
Exhibit D: He folded her over forward like his own savory little tortilla
Exhibit E: Big Al’s cylinder of love
Exhibit F: Heady fish and flower scent

Also. WHY WAS HE NAMED BIG AL. WHAT A HORRID NAME. DROP HIM OFF AT AL’S TOY BARN.

Lastly, you’re telling me a dinosaur was HAPPY to see a METEOR???

The narrator did surprisingly good voices, but when I had my AirPod Pros in, you could hear her take a sharp inhale after each sentence and my body severely rejected the sound.

Here we are, one of my twice a decade forays into monster porn. I noticed the cover and title when Nenia tweeted it on the bird app. The title and cover are great but I had some misgivings. $3.99 seemed steep for 68 pages but it went on sale for 99 cents and I had a dollar in slow shipping rewards to spend and here we are.

This ebook contains the title story plus Lord Bartholomew's Ankylosaur Lover and excerpts from ten other human on dinosaur monster porn titles.

The title story is about a girl who falls for an allosaurus working on her father's farm. Of course, they run away together and she's somehow able to handle his massive reptilian member, while bleeding from a gunshot wound to the shoulder. Of course, she lets him eat the arm because why the fuck not? The ending is a little unexpected but in a huh? kind of way, not in a Tales from the Crypt sort of way. Sorry if I spoiled a plot point in your monster porn.

I forgot how absurd and unintentionally hilarious monster porn is at times. To their credit, these are well written by human on dinosaur monster porn standards. Actually, the second story is my favorite and there isn't actually any porn in it, just a dandy with a penchant for larger women getting hot and bothered about an ankylosaur.

So the ebook is 68 pages but about 40 of those are previews. I'm not going to say I feel ripped off by spending a buck in rewards points on this but I'd take the dollar back.

I'm rating this a three because it was entertaining in a drenched in dinosaur semen kind of way. Looks like this fucker is lendable on the kindle so first come, first serve. Just send me a message.

Oops!... I DID IT AGAIN!

The third Lola Faust dinosaur erotica went down quite smoothly. This one is about Tanis, a young Albertan who is rescued from her father's brutality by Big Al, a dinosaur with a great libido. Honestly, I was never a big dinosaur fan as a kid( though I adored Land Before Time) but I do find these stories quite entertaining.

If you don't take yourself too seriously as a reader, give them a go! And if anyone gives you a hard time about reading dinosaur erotica, remind them you could be doing drugs!

I will read literally anything, and I’m curious by nature, so when I saw some GR friends discussing this book… I had to click it because- 1) I’ve never read Dino-erotica. And 2) I’m curious to see how human-dino shenanigans work.

First, this isn’t really a book. It reads almost like a book teaser. There’re I guess two actual stories (more like 1.5 because the second one only gets a boner) and the rest are weird sexcerpts from other dino-erotica stories. Tyrannosaurus Sex, Oh My Gobisaurus, Sinful Triceratops, ect. , and a sneak peek of The Elf & The Milf.

So, I’m only going to focus on the actual Wet Hot Allosaurus Summer

Background- humans rebooted dino’s from DNA found in rocks. Originally, they lived in zoos, but they realized they could work, so they eventually introduced them to the workforce with an implant/antenna that allows them to speak telepathically with the humans.

Tanis spends her days sketching and fantasizing of the dinosaurs that live by her ranch. She dreams of becoming one, so she can flee her small life on the farm. One night she finds a sexy Allosaurus in her barn (Big Al) and while they’re exploring each other, Tanis is shot protecting him. The two flee and the adventure begins.

Things were going good, they’d made it to the human-dino love ranch…but …After saving his life, and giving him… her virginity, her infected arm to eat, and a BJ… what does the rat bastard do??? He CHEATED on her with the first woman to run up to him... picks her up, rips her clothes off, and runs to the bushes. She stands there heartbroken, another woman approaches and says this is their way-welcome.. Then it ends… WTF is up with that??

This irritates the crap out of me because somehow, I actually got interested in this weird AF love connection, and now I want to know what happens next. Will he grovel? Who’s that fucking redhead?? Do they have a HEA? Can they have humansaurus kids? Who knows… not us that’s for damn sure… So, there you have it, regular sex with the electrical engineer, cheating bastard Allosaurus. I think I’m done with dino-erotica.

I wasn’t going to rate this, but I’m going to, and not for the content. I’m giving the 1 ⭐ because this isn’t a finished product. It’s two half-completed short stories that drop off leaving you hanging, and several 1–2-page teasers from other stories where nothing happens.

Note: Some of my goodreads shelves can be spoilers

Overall: ⭐️⭐️
Plot/Storyline: 📖📖
Feels: 🦋
Emotional Depth: 💔💔
Sexual Tension: ⚡⚡
Romance: 💞💞
Sensuality: 💋💋
Sex Scene Length: 🍑🍑
Steam Scale (Number of Sex Scenes): 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Humor: Ummm it’s hilariously horrifying
Perspective: Third person perspective from the heroine
Cliffhanger: No
Epilogue: Yes 3 years
Format: voluntarily read an advanced reader copy through NetGalley

(These are all personal preference on a scale of 1-5 (yours ratings may vary depending what gives you feels and how you prefer you sex scenes written, etc) except the Steam Scale which follows our chart from A Love Less Ordinary )

Should I read in order?
This is a stand alone novel.

Basic plot:
Tanis loves dinosaurs and can’t wait to escape the farm and her abusive father. Big Al can bring all her dreams to reality...

Give this a try if you want:
- a contemporary-ish/fantasy world where humans and dinos coexist
- dinosaur/human pairing
- shorter novel
- you’re okay with every content warning
- you can’t wait to read phrases like “Big Al’s cylinder of love” and “meaty sauna of his breath”
- medium to high steam – there’s plenty of scenes in a short novel but they are short, not developed and not as explicit as I thought they’d be

Ages:
- Heroine is 17/18

First line:
Tanis climbed onto the biggest barn to watch the dinosaurs.

My thoughts:
I had to try it. This one I regret.

I read it a week or so ago and just went back through to put my notes into review form and realized my brain desperately tried to protect itself and forgot so many details.

I am all for weird stuff but this one was too much for me. The amount of blood making and licking wasn’t sexy like it has been for me in other novels. The plot is like a run on story without closure on so many aspects. There was a ton of sex but none of it actually good. I didn’t care about either character. The writing just didn’t grab me.

BUT I can say I did it. And that deserves some kind of award. I have read 3 of her books now and I actually liked Dino Stud. Triceratops and Bottoms was worse than this one in some ways.

I need to make this clear - its not five stars because it's GOOD. Its five stars because I went into this fairly sure it was going to be ridiculous... and it did NOT disappoint. The joy I received from how ridiculous this was? 10/10, much needed serotonins.

Y'all...here is the list of suggested trigger warnings that Faust's sensitivity readers came up with:

Dinosaurs, sex, dinosaur sex, ornithoscelidaphobia, fisting, vore, gore, pain, blood, sadism, masochism, captivity, camping, cults, candy, insects, arm trauma, shoulder trauma, amputation, interspecies sex, menstruation, brains, carnivorism, sexism, misogyny, speciesism, classism, ableism, abusive parent, abusive coworker, infidelity, pornography, fire, water, forests, farms (working and dormant), unorthodox use of personal lubricant, implicit and explicit threat of sexual assault, inaccurate dinosaur anatomy (for the sake of the story), accurate dinosaur anatomy (for the sake of accuracy), feathers, Canada, South Dakota, Wal-Mart, cornfields, cow-tipping, barns, pickup trucks, threat of police violence, guns, gunshot wounds, immigration paperwork, portable toilets, decapitation, taffy-pulling, animal slaughter, religion, PTSD, venture capital, vegetables (loc. 9)

You might or might not regret Googling "vore slang." Go on, I dare you.

This is the third(!) of Faust's books that I've read, and upon reflection I was eased in very, very gently with Dino Stud. One of the first things that happens in Wet Hot Allosaurus Summer involves an injury that leaves the heroine's arm spurting blood and dangling uselessly. Time to seek medical attention, right? Or pass out from blood loss and pain? Nope! Time to have racy, blood-pumping sex with a dinosaur! (I'd like to suggest "inaccurate medical information" and "lack of medical care" as additions to the list of trigger warnings.) Don't worry, though. If you're thinking "gee, of course all I'd want while bleeding out is a good dino bang, that's not weird at all" – it only gets stranger. And stickier. And a lot of other things.

I don't really know how to rate this. I preferred it to Triceratops and Bottoms for the simple reason that I prefer novels and novellas to short stories, but while Dino Stud was basically exactly what I was expecting (god, how innocent and uninitiated I was), and Triceratops and Bottoms was off the rails but entertainingly so, this is about ten thousand times more horrifying, and I guess by now I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Or both. Five stars: yes. One star: yes. Read at your own risk.

Shakespeare reading dinosaur takes young woman's virginity, eats her arm and has the audacity to cheat on her. He then proceeds to gaslight her into forgiving him and running away with him to live as outlaws, encouraging her to go down a criminal path shoplifting clothes from Walmart when in lack of money.

Tanis is a simple Alberta country girl with dreams too big for her abusive father’s farm. Excitement arrives in the form of Big Al, an allosaurus who wears his feather crest in a sexy rockabilly pompadour and lives life on his own terms.

This neo-transcendentalist work of post-industrial inter-species romance starts off with a bang: in the first few pages Tanis meets Big Al, loses her virginity to Big Al, and gets shot in the shoulder by her ornithoscelidaphobic father. Her arm is beyond saving, and needs to be amputated; Big Al does so, and gets lunch at the same time in a veritable orgy of efficiency.

Tanis and Big Al run for the border, hoping to make a new life together in the United States safe from her father’s bigotry. Along the way they meet members of a dinosaur-loving sex cult, have close encounters with hillbillies, look for an ethical and environmentally sustainable way to handle to Big Al’s obligate carnivorism, and struggle with interpersonal challenges as they seek to navigate the complications of their inter-species romance under the shadow of a judgmental society.

They also bang. A lot.

This is my second Dinosaur Erotica book from Lola Faust. Like Dino Stud, it’s silly, it’s fun, and it takes itself exactly the right amount of seriously.

I saw the cover, and I had to.

I read some pretty borderline, sketchy erotica, because...well, I like to laugh, for one. And, it always feels sort of like a challenge.

So I went into this expecting some kind of raunchy dino....ride.

But.

There are not any complete stories in this book. There are two partials, a bunch of pitches/blurbs for other dinosaur erotic stories, and some silly tips and facts in here.

What we got of that first story? There were not one, but two twists I had not expected.

I feel like had there been a third chapter, that one would have wrapped up a bit better. It can stand as-is, but it's very abrupt and up-in-the-air how it's left. Definitely not a romance, though.

The first three chapters of the next story? No erotic content, mostly just confusing and ends when we finally find the dino.

So.

I'm using a lot of words to say....I have no words for this.

It's on KU.

You're not missing anything by not reading this.

But.

You can read it for free.

But I did so you don't have to.

What in the world 😆 Big Al & Tanis y’all had me ROTFF 🤣 Why I bothered: Well I’ve been seeing a lot of hype about this book on several Facebook Reading Groups and when I saw there was an Audio ARC for it I couldn’t pass it up….or should I have🥴 ok to be honest the narrator did a great job and it was a super fast read👏 I couldn’t have kept a straight face much less not bust out laughing if I was given the job or a million dollars! It was highly entertaining, and I just couldn’t stop laughing…well until I got to the menstruation part…no joke that was gross. Anyways, if you are looking for a gag gift, a book to make you laugh your tush off, or need something entertaining to get you out of a reading slump then this is the book for you. This was the highlight of my day😆🥴😆

Thank you at @netgalley for this Audiobook Arc in exchange for an honest review. Big kuddos to the narrator Katrina Medina!!!

Good lord. Im not quite sure what just happened to me. I mean broadly I know I got an email about an arc, thought why the heck not, and the rest is primordial history. It… may take a while for me to digest and form the subsequent sludge of my brain into thoughts. I won’t promise coherence.
—————————

Hoh boy. Update time. *ARC received with thanks from NetGalley*.

Reader, I giggled, I gasped, I clutched my pearls, I laughed some more, I felt a bit green.

This is the story of beautiful but perhaps a little repressed, certainly poorly treated farm girl Tanis. I think she was 18 at the start of the book and had worked her cruel sounding father’s farm for 17 years. If my math is correct, he needs to be reported for baby labour. Where other kids her age might be dreamily drawing pictures of horses and ponies, Tanis’ thoughts always turned to dinosaurs. She drew the funky feathers, the colours, the teeth, the necks, with such intensity she got in trouble for it. Her early day dream time was not wasted when she encounters her saurian suitor, Big Al. A hunky, thicc thighed allosaurus with an engineering job and other substantial… parts. Here’s where my prep let me down: I was expecting a shifter romance. Friends, the only shifting that took place related to… gears. Big Al was unapologetically a predator. With a digestive system to match. Meat sauna? Check. BBQ breath? Check. I don’t want to spoil your… enjoyment, but the manner in which their early relationship is consumed. I mean consummated! Is a choice. But you date a predator, you accept that at times your crush packs a crunch. Was this book pure porn? Yes. Was it ridiculous? Absolutely. But it’s never not aware of this, nor losing its playful gleeful edge. Every other sentence whacks you in the face with silly sexual similes 🌽🌽🌽literal peens, and intertextual allusions to Shakespeare no less. Please check the comprehensive CWs if you feel you might be a person of slightly delicate disposition. This novella pushes some boundaries I was not expecting to see pushed. But the bonkers kind of makes it… ok?

Ok get ready for a massive backflip! (My 2 stars just went to 5!)

I initially read this book and was disappointed about the abrupt end to the story.

It is now being re-released (Thanks NetGalley for the ARC) in its full glory!!!!

So where the initial book ended very abruptly, this point is now the end of chapter 2!

Start with the content Warnings, they are hilarious and give very good context to the book. This book is bonkers, and ridiculous and may be a lil bit squicky in some places... but it is both a story in its own right and a parody of Monster Romance as a genre...

We start with "But, Daddy, I love him!", followed by and escape to a Love Cult, followed by "on the run", and ending up in Dinosaur becomes Self Made Man.

I found myself laughing out loud at a number of points.

This is perfect for people who want to read something a bit out there, and Chuck Tingle fans!

17!! SEVENTEEN!! the main character is 17 God damn years old! For real?

I made it through 10 minutes of this audio before I said "nope, nope nopity nope". I will not listen to dinosaur erotica about a teenage girl. That is icky on so many factors.

I requested this from netgalley purely out of curiosity and I'm a little mad that it was ruined so fast. I'm not really a monster romance reader but I was intrigued, and then it had to be about a teenage girl. A naive virgin poor little teenage girl who's only ever lived on her daddys farm and he's a big meanie. She doesn't know how pretty she is until Big Al, a dinosaur, considers mating with her.

I just can't get over icky and problematic that is.

If this was set on a research facility or a farm with an adult woman, mid twenties would be as young as I would say would be okay, and she had experience and knew what she wanted etc, then it would've been fine. Probably not good because it is dinosaur erotica, but at least it wouldnt have been problematic. But SEVENTEEN. A NAIVE VIRGIN. I'm not really sure how much more problematic it could get tbh.

It goes to say I will absolutely not be finishing this or recommending it.

Received from NetGalley, thanks!

So, this is a book I read…
I really can’t say that this was good, but it was definitely entertaining.
I laughed out loud several times, and made lots of highlights. Basically, this book is pretty much exactly what you would expect.
While this isn’t the type of book that I would usually read, it was a lot of fun, as it was quite clear that the author was having a lot of fun with it. I may never look at corn, oil derricks, or barbecues the same ever again…😅
I also appreciate Faust’s accuracy about drug stores in Alberta. 😂
