As tribulation engulfs the world, Grace Winslow does her best to prepare for the inevitable persecution. When she gets word that government agents are coming for the remaining Christians, she’s ready to run. Or so she thought. Grace flees to the mountains with her aunt, intending to join a small group of Christians who would face imprisonment or death at home. But as troubles grow into conflicts, living with strangers in a survival crisis proves far more difficult than she’d imagined.
The newest member of the group, Maxwell Flynn, finds himself both captivated and repelled by Grace. But he doesn’t have time to give her much thought – he’s focused on protecting his little brother, an unusual boy with a devotion to God… and a strong tendency toward accidents.
Their daring escape is full of perils. Will the new group be captured or succumb to the wilderness? Can they find a way to carve out a tenuous existence in the dangerous new world?
SAINTS is the first book in the suspense-filled, post-apocalyptic TRIBULATION series. Like all books by Jamie Lee Grey, this is a faith-based, clean read. Join the adventure today!
This book was a bit disappointing for me there are some good chapters, but not enough of them for me, unfortunately. There isn't anything happening in the book to excite me and keep me reading. I do love the cover, however the book is putdownable.
“You can’t give any quarter to the enemy, Grace. Not a single piece of your heart or mind, and not a physical thing to comfort or aid them in their quest to destroy you.”
The story takes place in Canada, during the tribulation in the "Last Days." Persecution has begun and the Antichrist is in control. People are being turned in by their neighbors, and everyone has a chip except those who are living a "True" Christian Life. Our MC Grace who lives with her aunt is one of those who is facing persecution if they dont leave their home and head for the mountains.
Grace and her Aunt meet up with other followers to start a community deep in the wilderness. One of the newest members of the Group is Max, who doesn't know how to handle his feelings for Grace... I mean it is the end of the world- Does he have time for Love? He decides instead, to put all of his focus on his little brother, who has an amazing connection of his own with God.
I really enjoyed this one! The writing was decent and was invested from the first chapter. Something about survival and on the run type books that I really enjoy. The characters were likable and I appreciated how the author used scriptures to back up what was happening in the story as she went along. I am looking forward to the next two in the series to see where this group of people end up and how it all unfolds!
Going to read the next book in the series and if it doesn't get any better I'm not going to read it anymore. I will usually really like books that are christian-based like this. This one just kind of boring and drags.
The book is okay but there didn't seem to be a plot. Even if you're writing a series, each book needs a central plot to engage the reader. This was just a lot of stuff happening and two people falling in love over looks alone. I won't read the rest of the series. I did like the Christian themes and that the characters prayed and sought God's help.
From page one you will be immediately transported into the world of believers that must fight for their very existence. The action and suspense start from the very beginning ,you will find yourself as part of this small group of believers in the run from the anti-Christ . You be real in plugged in and revited until the very end . Read this book it is brilliant
Tribulation series by Jamie Lee Grey Saints, book 1 Sinners, book 2 Martyrs, book 3
Genre: Christian Thriller & Suspense, Christian Sci Fi
This series follows a group of Christians who are forced to run from the government. Citizens are being forced to be microchipped in order to continue with ‘normal’ day to day activities. There is no longer any religion recognized other than the one declared by the world leader. This small group of survivalists must venture into the wilderness and depend on the strengths of each other to get them through.
Each of the books immediately follows the other, like a television mini-series. I thought this was a refreshing approach by the author. The story plays out to be more romantic suspense than anything else. I really enjoyed getting to know each of the members, especially the two main characters Grace and Maxwell.
In Saints, book 1 - members are just getting used to one another and suspicions rise. The many dangers in the wilderness begin to show themselves.
In Sinners, book 2 - Grace begins to feel the group has found their rhythm to their daily survival, but not all plans are God’s plan.
In Martyrs, book 3 - members are on the run again, the government’s reach seems to be getting closer. Will God reveal his plan to them?
It took me a while to get started. This seemed like the common end of times book - but I found myself captivated with the setting, story and characters. Before I knew it, I had finished the book in only 2-3 days. I'm now working on Book #2. This was a surprise find for me as I generally stick to authors I know i.e. Peretti, Dekker, Lipparulo, Metaxsis. The story is less about the end times - though that is what kicks off the story, it's about the struggle, doing without, survival, friendship and kinship from people of the faith. With much of what is going on in the world - less free speech, media narratives and reduce tolerance from non-believers, the story seems all the more real. It's not overly religious but has a good balance of people who just happen to believe in a Creator and look to Him for guidance, solace and future hope in God's plan.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and I finished it in two days! SAINTS follows a band of Christians into the wilderness as they run from the government. The author clearly knows about outdoor survival, because there were a lot of great survival details in this book. I think she did a great job balancing the everyday, mundane business of survival, with the constant stress of being hunted. Every time I relaxed a little, something crazy happened! I loved the sweet romance between Max and Grace, and I look forward to following their story through the rest of the series. I also loved Joel and his pony. Bring on Book 2!
I've read many books on the end times but this one was a real life example of what could & can happen. I liked the story, it portrayed life in a time of tribulation & hardship. Having to deal with strangers, not knowing if you could trust all & needing to trust in God for His guidance & direction. I liked that there was possibilities of people realizing love still could bloom between two people when all seemed hopeless & uncertain. I know many peppers have prepped for scenarios like this. Realizing the dangers one can face living in the mountains. Thank the Lord, He is always with us & will never forsake us!
Great story, excellent read, the author did it again. Wow!
This was a great book I highly recommend it. When you think you are ready for hard times, read this book and see all of the things that could occur and then prepare for such events. We never know what things could happen when we are out in the wilderness or enduring hardships. Things could creep up on us that we are totally unaware of. Well I was reading this book I was made aware of things that had never crossed my mind before. This was a wonderful story and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Right off from the very beginning I was drawn in and couldn't put it down. So many books take the first third, some even the first half, before the reader can get into the story. Not this one. I really had other things that needed attention when I began reading, and I only planned to spend about ten minutes. An hour later I kept looking for a slow spot to stop at but it just wasn't there. The author has really done a marvelous job with this story. I highly recommend it.
This is truly a wonderful story of scary times, we may be headed into, the way our world is today. This book is a breath of fresh air. It is about people who truly believe in our God and his son Jesus Christ, listening to us and answering our prayers in our time of needs. Also how true believers find the good in life even when not everything goes as planned. Thank you Jamie Lee Grey. I recommend this book to everyone.
⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 1/2 rounded up to four For an end times, survivalist book it was pretty good. I realized about half way through this was different from other Jamie Lee Gray end times books. This is really more for teens or young adults. Not bad, just a tad young sounding for me.
Really good book for a younger set with great Christ focused themes. That was very well done!
Other than too many typos in the first half of the book, it was perfect! I like the budding romance and look forward to seeing it develop. I don’t care for romance books per se but this seems just right. Character development is excellent! Can’t wait to read “sinners”!
We all have to get ready. Not to “fly away” but to stand in the evil day! It is so refreshing to read a book that does not place Jesus’ Coming before the Tribulation. I’m so glad I stumbled onto it. We have to move forward to whatever God has for us... And, be the best witnesses we can while we can. For “the night is coming when no man can work”.
Enjoy reading it. Very satisfying and realistic. If you like feeling a part of the Church, the Believers, then the you will surely enjoy this. Get your bible and hymn book out, because you'll be using them if you feel immersed in the story. That's what really brought it alive to me.
It has some really good parts, but it appears to be a YA romance novel. Lots of exclamation marks and inner thoughts about how two people feel about each other. Hoping the rest of the series isn't like this. I love this author so I'm pretty sure the action will pick up in the next book.
Wonderful book! I had read the story of Grace & Jenni & Max & Joel before, but I still devoured every word! I laughed, I cried, I tensed up in fear; I felt like I was right there with that little group of woodland believers! Thank you, Jamie Lee Grey, for an amazing story! :)
If this is the future get prepared. Good fiction story based on Revelation. Can they trust each other? Do they have enough to get through until Jesus comes? Are there enough members in the group to be able to build a community in the wilderness in order to get out of the tents? Very good job. Thank you.
This story is so realistic. The characters are so well developed, they could step off the pages. There is so much drama and incredible story magic. It’s impossible not to love this book. Joel is captivating, with his little dog and his horse. I will be reading this story again, once isn’t enough.
An easy read that follows likeable characters through the beginning of their end-time bugout experience. Their inexperience and lack of advance planning is probably realistic of most people who'd be forced to leave their home and escape persecution by going into the wilderness. Overall, it was an enjoyable book to read.
This story occurs in Canada during the tribulation. Follow Jenni, Grace, Max, Joel and others as they flee "civilization " who are after Christians. A good read once again.
Interesting!not the normal tribulation novel but a good read and faith lifting book.
Not the usual tribulation novel. Good character development and with line. I will continue reading this series. Looking forward e to reading what writer has planned for the group
This book is about a group of people who go into the forest to hide out from those who were wanting to capture Christians during the end times. I love Jamie Lee Gray books!
Full of God’s grace. Jamie Lee Grey has done it again. As with all of her books you can feel her faith in God. Keep writing about God’s redeeming love for His creation and I only pray that your beautifully written words would perhaps lead some lost soul to Christ!!!!
This book made me really think. This small band of Christians are trying to stay safe and protect themselves and the others until the rapture. The way they care for one another is amazing. It sure brings the reality of what it can and will be home to me.
Well written and captivating story about Max and Grace's budding relationship during tribulation. Written in a way that you can see the scenes unfolding before your eyes. The close knit relationship and dependance on God of the Christian group. Excellent book
A good beginning to a new series by Jamie Lee Grey
What will you do when they want to arrest Christians? If you don't have a plan to go where they can't find you then they are arresting or putting you in camps. Follow this groups travels into the wilderness.
Good story line, Christian centered is the best part. Reading the book and seeing the struggles that are faced everyday but in the middle are scriptures, prayers and God's strength shining through their lives
