Beneath the dusky glow of a millennium moon, an ancient mystery is unfolding. Two very different vampires have each consumed a vial of blood containing the life force of two primordial princes, both presumed to be dead: “Drink this blood and welcome life; drink this blood and welcome death.” And the contents are stirring, quickening…awakening.
Braden Bratianu was only five years old when he was sired into the Vampyr race. The only fledgling to be made—not born—he struggled with his new identity, his past human frailties, and how to forge a new place in an ancient, lethal society. Yet over time, he also displayed several uncanny abilities: divine intuition, precognition, and an inherent understanding of cryptic texts and archaic spells. His very soul seems to be linked to the heartbeat of the house of Jadon.
Kristina Riley Silivasi came from a troubled home and a tragic past. Rescued from a Dark One by an Ancient Master Healer, then mistaken for an ancient vampire’s destiny, she was swiftly ushered into a terrifying universe, enduring everything from conversion to betrayal. Though she survived—even thrived—her wounds, her insecurities…and her deep-seated fears have never left her.
When a beloved son of Jadon and a beleaguered daughter of chance are caught in a web of illusion, they must each summon bravery, learn to discern truth from a lie, and dare to risk love…or forfeit the future. The celestial gods cannot save them. They will live or die by the strength of their choices and reap what they sow…reward or ruin.

Tessa Dawn grew up in Colorado, where she developed a deep affinity for the Rocky Mountains. After graduating with a degree in psychology, she worked for several years in criminal justice and mental health before returning to get her master’s degree in nonprofit management.
Tessa began writing as a child and composed her first full-length novel at the age of eleven. By the time she graduated high-school, she had a banker’s box full of short-stories and novels. Since then, she has published works as diverse as poetry, greeting cards, workbooks for kids with autism, and academic curricula. Her Dark Fantasy/Gothic Romance novels represent her long-desired return to her creative-writing roots and her passionate flair for storytelling.
Tessa currently splits her time between the Colorado suburbs and mountains with her two children and “one very crazy cat.” She hopes to one day move to the country where she can own horses and what she considers “the most beautiful creature ever created” -- a German Shepherd.
This book was all about the plot and it was awesome. I wish we had more romance, although I understand why we didn't. But now I am frustrated that the next book is not yet out. Correction, I am not only frustrated, but I am actually sad to have already finished the 12 books of this series. I want more. When will the next one?
So, in this book we get to see what happened with both the princes. We get to see the one who started this all. How arrogant and evil the guy truly is. It was nice seeing it and understanding how the actions of one person can change the life of so many.
But the romance kind of was left to a later time. A pity, cuz I would have loved to see more. 4.5 stars.
This has got to be the best book ever in the series. So much happened in this book. Braden's story has long been anticipated and Tessa Dawn did not disappoint. A lot of revelations in this one and truths revealed. Kristina's character comes full circle and we see the truly strong woman she is. Tessa brought out a lot of emotions in this book and I found myself crying in a few places. I love it when an author can pull out emotions. This was a great storyline, filled with action, anticipation, amazement and emotions. I loved every single word of this book. It truly was well worth the wait. Bring on the next book, Blood Magick, I am so ready for it.
I can't even start to describe how freaking amazing this book is! This is the best one yet! I don't know how to processes the genius behind the author's thinking that went into writing such a complex and emotional story. This book has everything you need and want from a book! I need more!
I have really missed these stories. I just love them. This is the story of Jayden, and Kristina. Both had been brought into the immoral realm. Kristina was confused as a Destiny for a warrior, turned, and then told it was an error. She was provided for, and given every luxury, but her heart still hurt, and trusting came hard. Braden had been left with a master wizard at five, but it was no mistake because he had so many gifts already, and his heart was true, and dedicated to the House of Jaydon. The years have passed, and the king of the House of Jaydon has declared that in time the two should be life mates. The Harvst moon ceremony has come upon them, and if the seers are correct it will effect Jayden in a monumental way. It certainly does that, and more. The House of Jayden give praises, and worship.Thanking their very livelihood, blessed by their gods. The other house spends its time in disgusting sexual rituals, and violence. That house will be touched as well. I will not ruin it for you, because it is very enlightening, brutal, and Brayden learns many lessons, as does Kristina. The story does have a great ending, but you know the evil that brews has not been wiped out. They will be back to fight another day. This series may have vampires, but only the evil brother's side set up a house of death, and blood. The good side is filled with wisdom, love, light, and loyalty. There is more talk of sexual deviance , than actual seeing it happen. Kristina, and Jayden wait till all the turmoil has quieted, before they vow themselves to each other. Some lude comments by the warriors of evil, since they have no desire to respect women. while the other side treasure their destinies, and children, and protect them. I am glad that another book is on its way. I will enjoy rooting against evil, and cherish each win for good. 5 stars.
This was a great addition to this series but it was a very hard read. If you haven't read the whole series this would just be a book of names. Soooooo many characters it was hard to keep up with. The love story was in the background but it was a match I had looked forward to reading about.
I have been so excited about Bradens book. But in the end there wasn’t much story. There was a lot of recounting scenes from the other books (which is lazy writing). If I’m reading the book it doesn’t usually bother me too much as I can just skim down the pages to find the end of the recount. But as I was listening on audible, it got me really annoyed every time a new flashback started. Plus to find that Braden wasn’t special at all, it was all Prince Jaden, was a let down. And as for Christina, well she has to be the most unlikeable character in the whole series. I was kind of hoping Braden would meet someone new.
It has been a while since I've read a book from this series, but it did not make any difference at all when I saw that the latest book was now available. I ordered it without a thought and put other things in my TBR to the side and jumped right in. For whatever reason, I have enjoyed every minute of this series and have grown to love those crazy vampyrs (vampires) from the House of Jadon. This series has not disappointed me yet and I am happy to say that streak is still alive.
I alternated between listening and reading this latest book and I did not have any problems with the narration. Honestly though, I do not remember if this was the same narrator (Eric Dove), or if there was someone different before. I'll have to go back and take a look.
So...this book is a little bit different because there is a special event taking place - a kind of once in a millennium event - but even more importantly, it is Braden's book. We have seen that kid grow and develop since he first arrived in the Vale as a silly goth kid who was so miserable on the inside that he did just about anything to get attention. If you were to compare that initial kid with the male that he has grown into, it is hard to wrap your head around the change. Braden is such a wonderful example of what the influence of father figures along with unconditional love can make on a young and impressionable teen. Braden has had his share of dilemmas throughout the years, yet he has grown and learned through all of these challenges. He not only has learned skills in magic and increased his level of power, but he has learned that integrity and character are the characteristics that really matter.
Then we have Kristina. If anyone has had a rough ride with these guys, it has been her. We learn though that she still is battling with feelings of insecurity and trust issues. As crazy as it seems to put these two together (the age difference was a really big barrier in the beginning) somehow, the growth in maturity of Braden (with the knowledge of what he has had inside of him) has made him so much wiser than his actual age. Braden is an old soul.
There is the requisite drama with the "bad" vampires (the ones from the House of Jaeger) and there is a certain amount of "what the heck" stuff going on, but to me, this felt like the introduction to the next installment. I'm thinking that the next instalment is going to have the bad guys regrouping and coming for our guys and coming hard. Kristina is not off the hook and until Braden and Kristina actually solidify their mating, unfortunately, she is going to be fair game for the bad guys.
But, that just makes life interesting. So, another book down....yet the drama is yet to come.
What happens when fear & regret, hate & love...all those conflicting emotions meet on the battlefield? Imagine also that the most evil "person" you know is not only your twin brother but the vampyr prince responsible for the murder of all the females in your kingdom! Although this is the story of Braden & Kristina, it is also the story of family...good & bad! Tessa' s characters & storyline are superb!! The anticipation was well worth the wait!! Congratulations, Tessa!! You have created another masterpiece!! Now back to reading BLOOD HARVEST again as we await Blood Magic, the next book in the Blood Curse series!!
I have been waiting so long for Braden and Kristina's story and was not disappointed. This is a fantastical tale of a young man coming into his own. Braden has always been more than he seemed. His primary family left him with Nachari, one of my very favorite characters, and while he has prospered with him, Braden has always felt a loss. Readers discover that Braden has never been totally alone. Kristina has her own tale of abuse and has grown with her new family. Their romance is unconventional, as they are, but beautiful in its own way. I loved this book so much!
One of the best series I’ve ever read! A compelling story of the House of Jadon and the House of Jaeger. Brothers, princess, of a royal family thought long perished. The former,a HOUSE of light and honor. The latter,a HOUSE of darkness and evil, terror and horror. When the 2 Houses come to the final showdown, its winner takes all, in this masterful, overwhelming, emotional tale of rivalry and revenge! Well done! A very well written series, leaving me wanting MORE!!!
TBH, I found this book a bit boring and skipped lots of it. I've read the whole series so had to pay out for this book though I thought it quite expensive. The series on the whole was intelligently written....I even had to look up a few words. Only rare, silly mistakes, not editorial ones, always a few of those. I'll still buy the next book when out, hoping it's better, hoping it's cheaper than this one!
I love this one because it explains prince jadon and how loving he truly is and bray was the perfect person to receive his blessings. I recommend this book to everyone who love romance and strong love ties in a family. I can only hope that blood magic comes soon . Enjoyed 100% finish in two days thanks Tessa Dawn keep writing please!!!
Blood Harvest was Amazing, in my top 3 of fav books in this series! There was so much going on but not in a way you can't keep up, so much about the celestial gods and two ancient prince's. The amount of detail was amazing and the storyline had me on the edge of my seat!!! I can't wait for more from this series, Tessa Dawn is so gifted and needs to keep it going!!
Fantastic Absolutely Fantastic. Full of challenges and mystery. From the first words on the first page to the very last one written , this book is so full and exciting that you just don't want to put it down. Even with a emotional rollacoaster you will love everything about this book.
It isn't often I can't finish a book, but as much as I love this series I just couldn't get to the end of this book. I can't explain what exactly it was, but I was bored with it half way through and just couldn't keep going. Sorry!! Hope the next one will redeem the series.
How can Tessa break my heart, fill me awe, joy and anger all at once! This book was amazing. This was amazing. To see prince Jadon reunite with his sisters, his house was amazing. I can’t wait for the next one!
This book is awesome! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Braden has always been one of my favorite characters and he didn’t disappoint. To see Him and Kristina fight to get to Where they belong was tear jerking.
The Blood Curse series is one of the best paranormal series out. This 12th installment is a five star read, just like the previous 11. The stories in this series get better with each book. I cannot wait for book 13.
Great continuation of this series. Braden and Kristina face many challenges before they can ever hope for a relationship. A brilliant story of love, loss, and dealing with personal goals blended with grief of loss.
I love this author’s books. They are a little dark but that’s what you would expect real vampires to be. My suggestion is to start with first book in this series and read all of them. I always look forward to the next one!
This was really good in a series that was becoming too long and convoluted. I have read all of it and dont even remember the events and characters from years back. It seems like it would be a good stopping point, but I don't think it is over yet.
I love these stories. By now I feel like everyone in the Vale is a personal friend. I enjoy their trials and triumphs, feel their pain and joys. Well written and thought out.
Having read all the prior books in the series, I found this one to be the best. It kind of brought all the story together and was extremely exciting from start to finish. I look forward to reading the next story.
I am so happy for Braden and Kristina but I was hoping for there babies in this story but I hope we get to read about it soon and thank you Mrs. Dawn for all the Blood Curses.
I love this series and the characters. I was wondering how she was going to handle this HEA with such a big age difference. She did great and I have a feeling that we will see more of Brayden and Christina.
So much I never considered or saw coming, but WOW, did it ever coalesce into something great. I've loved or really enjoyed all the previous book, but hands down, this is my favorite. I'd say more, but I'd give everything away.
I think your books are amazing and I have just re-read them to read the last book. I think you one of my favourite author. Your writing skills are just wow. Truly amazing
I've gotten into this series and it sunk it's teeth in. Lots of vampire romance and leans toward the fun side but stays out of "cheesyville" Lol! Characters are interesting and varied but somehow stay true to form without getting redundant. I highly recommend.
