Ell and Mazzi have greatly enjoyed their very private, very kinky sex life together. But it's one thing to set up the most sophisticated restraints or endure the most intense pain in the comfort of their bedroom. It's a different thing to put themselves out there and try the local swinger's club.
Lavender Dreams is a explicit series about kink and swinging between consenting adults in a queer-inclusive atmosphere. All of the leads identify as various forms of nonbinary. The Swinger Set specifically depicts enthusiastic group sex among consenting adults in a semi-public space.
Another sweet short story featuring nonbinary love interests from Wray. Most of the interesting conversation happens during sex, which is a little more awkward than book one, but enjoyable all the same.
How are these books so good? They're so short but you will get entirely invested in them. This one has older queers which is just really fun and important representation that we don't see enough. The established couple is in their 30s and the third that they engage with is in their 50/60s. All three of them are on the non-binary spectrum. Ell is a fat BIPOC disabled queer person who uses she her pronouns. Mazzi is a femme fat queer person who uses he him pronouns. Bertie is a thin white queer person who uses they them pronouns.
Ell and Mazzi head to lavender dreams, which is the swingers club, to kind of explore and just see if it's something that they would be into. As they kind of find their groove they make contact with Bertie and end up engaging in an encounter with them. This book is so fat focused and celebratory and I loved it. I need more fat kinky queer books in my life.
Loads of consent and communication and just all around queer fat trans joy.
This series is so lovely. You can read my review of Principled Perversions, the first book.
I just love the consent and checking in in every book. It just feels like a wonderful education, and it did my non-binary heart good.
This book had the added benefit of a main character with chronic pain and how she managed her spoons and comfort. The main couple has a strategy for managing their sensory experiences with concentric escape points to get quiet, which I am totally going to steal when I go to any kinds of events. So clever and thoughtful!
A lot of erotica seems to depend on assuming physical and sometimes mental perfection, like posing barbies. I deeply appreciate the care Ell, Mazzi and Bertie take in communicating with each other and the depiction of Ell’s chronic pain in an erotic story.
