Rate this book
Negativity is a normal part of life. Nobody can be positive all that time because life isn’t always going to be perfect. That said, sometimes negativity infiltrates our minds and bodies and never leaves. A good day can be ruined by your mind dwelling on something stupid that happened years ago. You sit for hours ruminating over it, and before you realize it, you have wasted a great day. We’ve all had experiences like that, and they suck. Here’s the thing, though; we can’t let that continue to happen. We have to take control of our minds instead of being at the whim of our thoughts and feelings.
That’s what this book is here to help you do. It’s no easy feat to stop thought processes you have had your entire life. It will take some work, but with the right tools, you can learn how to rewire your brain so that you are happier and healthier. In this book, you will learn
We’ve all felt sad, happy, angry, mad, disgusted, excited, and numb. It’s normal for emotions to change throughout the day. What isn’t normal is always feel down or feeling as if you have to force yourself to be happy. We shouldn’t be pessimistic about everything because “somebody always lets me down.” If you have used the statement, “if it weren’t for bad luck, I’d have no luck at all,” then you likely need help for negative self-talk. It’s not okay to feel like you have no other options but to feel bad. You have the right to be happy, and you can learn how to be happy and more optimistic.

If this is the first self-help book you've read in your life, it may contain some baseline-interesting nuggets. Anything (and I mean anything) beyond that, however, and you'll be in for a tremendous disappointment.

Based on the title, I was hoping for some advice on how to manage anger or negative thoughts. Instead, what I got was a regurgitation of every self-help trope I've ever heard. Simply that--no helpful strategies or anecdotes of any kind.

Upon realizing how generic this book would be, I looked at the qualifications of the author and found him to be a self-help coach. I'd almost argue a bit of a huckster, from the way I view self-help tomes to best work. I know that is a large accusation with no provable evidence, but I simply don't subscribe to the notion that reciting a list of facts is self-help book worthy. I need to have the information related to real-life actions or scenarios--not just quoted to me verbatim.

The final nail in this coffin: Anyone who has given any time, energy, or thought to self-help topics could sit down a blast out a book like this given a month or so's time. Without relatability or quoted evidence other than a bibliography for spouted facts/stats, I left the read feeling utterly gypped (not something that happens all that much with me and books). Steer clear of this one if you are looking for anything more inspiring/informative than a list of generic platitudes.

Author shot himself in the foot

I got about midway through the book, and the author essentially turned it into a YouTube video. He broke the flow of the book to ask for a review. Not only did it break the flow, it comes across as very unprofessional in my opinion.

Until that point, the book was pretty good. The information was not revolutionary, but it was laid out straight forward. I forget why I got this book, maybe saw it mentioned on reddit. I was going to have two people read it, but not anymore.

This book aims to provide readers with tools to manage negative emotions and foster a positive mindset. However, I found the book lacking in depth and originality.

The content felt repetitive and failed to offer new insights beyond common self-help advice. Additionally, the writing style was monotonous, making it challenging to stay engaged.

Overall, this book did not meet my expectations and did not provide the transformative guidance I was seeking.

A Strong Read That Will Make You Think

After saying some unkind things, I searched for a book that could help me be a lot nicer, and I discovered this. I found this book to be truly helpful and insightful. For the 1st time in my life, I realized that I had a negative mindset and this book has begun to help me reframe my outlook. I'm truly grateful for the author And I would recommend this read.

👍

Wonderfully written, good for almost any age. I, personally, read aloud and gained from the experience. I would more than likely read it again in the future.
Definitely recommend.

Nice and short. A few of the tips I have heard before, such as Maslow’s rules, but for the most part it is all about regaining control and not ridding yourself as we all have anger, just some of us need more control of that anger.
