Veterinarian Elizabeth has dreamed of owning the big farm near the coast since she was a kid. She can’t believe her luck when it’s listed for sale just as she’s looking for a place to start her own practice.

Adam wants to escape his past relationship, and the city, so he moves to Camden Cove and unknowingly steals Elizabeth's farm with a higher bid. This makes him the last person Elizabeth wants to be around, but when his animals need care, she’s the only one who can help.

Elizabeth resents the handsome city boy, but can’t resist falling for the loving father with a big broken heart. Although, Adam’s not sure if he’s ready to have his heart fixed yet, even by a beautiful veterinarian who has grown fond of his darling daughter.

As Adam and Elizabeth search their souls for answers, Adam’s daughter helps them begin to see that they may be better together.

Will Elizabeth and Adam let past feelings keep them apart or is the farm the perfect place for hearts and families to grow?

Ellen lives in a small town in New England, between the Atlantic Ocean and the White Mountains. She lives with her husband, two sons, and one very spoiled puppy princess.

Ellen writes in the early morning hours before her family wakes up. When she's not writing, you can find her spending time with her family, gardening with her puppy and chickens, or headed to the beach. She loves summer and flip-flops, running on a dirt country road, and a sweet love song.

All of her stories are clean romances where families are close, neighbors are nosy, and the couples are destined for each other.

This is the first series that I have read that is set on the East coast and the author did not disappoint. Elizabeth, Adam, and Lucy are wonderful characters. The joy of caring for animals shines through as Elizabeth and Lucy bond over the rescue animals on Adam's farm. As Adam and Elizabeth spend time together the connection between them grows harder to ignore. But Elizabeth has a boyfriend and Adam is hiding a secret he is not sure Elizabeth will understand. It may be better for Adam to keep his distance, but his daughter Lucy thinks Elizabeth is her fairy godmother.

Innocent love story

I loved this book finally a romance novel that isn't overly intimate. You can feel the passion in it's purest form. I loved the little girl Lucy she was adorable. Loved Elizabeth she was the perfect mix of strong and sensitive perfectly matching Mr. Cahil's character. I can't say enough good things about this book. I thoroughly enjoy it. Highly recommended

Thoroughly enjoyed this book

I liked the comfortable small town atmosphere. The main characters were well developed. Lucy, with her love of animals was adorable. Small town, veterinarian, animals and a love story - what else could you ask for?
If you want an easy read, not a complex plot, this is a perfect choice.

It Takes A Village

So many feels and I am pretty smitten with Elizabeth. So many people are not able to get to the level of comfort and love she has for Michelle. Little Lucy is an absolute riot and knows what she wants.
The characters in this story grow throughout the book and definitely give you the feeling of being home ~

I liked the relationship Elizabeth had with Lucy, Adam's young daughter. I did think Elizabeth's initial reaction to Adam was immature, especially for a woman who had become a respected veterinarian. I didn't think this was a 5 star novel, but it did provide good escape.

A good story.

Elizabeth and Adam’s story is different than what I expected. They both had some issues to deal with. But Adam’s were very unusual and the way it worked out was very unexpected.

"The Farmhouse by the Cove" is a mesmerizing tale that celebrates the power of love, family, and the resilience of the human spirit. Ellen Joy's narrative not only weaves a beautiful love story between Elizabeth and Adam but also delves deep into the themes of family bonds, hope, and the idea that families are made, not born.
At the heart of the story is Elizabeth, a strong and determined woman who has faced her own share of hardships. Her journey is a testament to the strength of the human spirit and the unwavering belief in a better tomorrow. Adam, with his warmth and sincerity, becomes not just a romantic partner for Elizabeth but also a pillar of support and a beacon of hope in her life.
The love story between Elizabeth and Adam is tenderly crafted, capturing the essence of two souls finding solace and joy in each other's company. Their relationship blooms amidst the idyllic setting of the farmhouse by the cove, symbolizing a new beginning filled with love and possibilities. Joy's portrayal of their love is not just romantic but also grounded in the realities of life, making it all the more relatable and heartfelt.
What sets this novel apart is its exploration of family dynamics. Through the character of Lucy, Joy delves into the complexities of family relationships and the idea that family is not just about blood ties but about the bonds we create and nurture. Lucy's journey toward understanding and acceptance mirrors the larger theme of the novel—that families are made through love, understanding, and forgiveness.
Throughout the story, there is a palpable sense of hope that permeates every page. Whether it's Elizabeth's unwavering optimism or Adam's steadfast support, the novel reminds us that even in the darkest of times, there is always a glimmer of hope to hold on to. Joy beautifully captures the resilience of the human spirit and the transformative power of love and familial connections.
"The Farmhouse by the Cove" is a poignant reminder that life is a tapestry woven with love, hope, and the ties that bind us together. Ellen Joy's exquisite storytelling transports readers to a world where second chances, family bonds, and the beauty of new beginnings reign supreme. This novel is a testament to the fact that with love and determination, we can overcome any obstacle and build the family we've always dreamed of. A must-read for anyone who believes in the power of love, family, and the enduring spirit of hope. This book is a great addition to your book collection.
Happy Reading...enjoy!

Adam and Elizabeth

Zoe cousin Elizabeth finds love with Ethans lawyer adam.a few little twists in this book and it was a little to much shiny happy people with Lucy's mum.he shouldn't of let her stay in the house with him when she made passed at him.plus no women would want her boyfriend's ex sleeping in his house.it would of been nice if he was more respectful and made her stay else where plus why is he paying for her he is rising her child she should be giving not taking and don't forget small town he wouldn't want it getting back to Elizabeth she stayed for days at his house in his bed. (Ok he was in the barn but locals don't know that) relationships are about trust but you need respect to don't do things to give them worry.

The second in this lovely romance story set in Camden Cove, a small town in America. The series is about the people which make the town their home.

This book is about Elizabeth, a vet in the town and Adam, who brings his daughter, Lucy, to live in the town on a farm. Lucy is 8 and has a fascination with animals, especially those needing homes. When her Mother makes an unwelcome return, Afam must decide what to do.

I loved this story and can't wait to read the next in the series. Whilst each book is a standalone story, the books are best read in order of publication to preserve continuity of the characters and series.

The Farmhouse by the Cove

Dr. Elizabeth Williams is the vet in Camden Cove. She has had her heart set on a farm when ever the owner decided to sell, but new comer Adam Cahill bought it first. His daughter Lucy has turned it into a rescue home for all animals. Elizabeth and Lucy have become very close. Adam want more than a friendship with Elizabeth. Its a family that Elizabeth has always wanted.

I enjoyed reading Elizabeth, Lucy and Adam's story. This was more than just the main couple as Lucy played a special role in getting them together. Lucy and Elizabeth formed a bond over animals and it seemed Elizabeth and Adam formed their own bond. The background character's of Wlizabeth's family played a fun role in the story as well.

DNF for me

While I’m sure the HEA was probably lovely, I just couldn’t get past the dire need for additional proofreading. It really made it hard for me to connect with the story and characters because I was stopping to edit the story in my mind so frequently.

Camden Cove

Elizabeth is the kind of vet I want. Adam is pretty uptight and doesn’t share easily. Lucy has some issues of her own, but is really a very caring and loving little girl. Enjoy their story.

Nice love story

I love these stories, filled with such romance. I do feel the author repeated the story line too often, but everyone has an opinion. It's not making me want to read the entire series any less!

A really good story that I enjoyed very much. I was a little annoyed with the character Elizabeth at the beginning but she got better as the book progressed and I came to like her character very much. I simply loved Lucy and Adam was a great "dad" as well as being a perfect partner for Elizabeth.

Poorly written

I stopped reading after a few chapters. There are too many grammatical errors. The first book in the series was well written. This one is not.
