Baseball Pitcher Paxton Hughes is not just known for his talent on the field, he also has the reputation as a player. Although he does get lonely from time to time, he is focused on his career and one night stands fit the bill. That is until he spots Sophia Ballis, he tries to flirt and she shy's away. For the first time in his life he is interested in seeing where it leads and if he can prove to Sophia he is worth the chance and calm her fears about his reputation, he may find he is playing the most important game of his life.

Charming story. I thought Paxton was so sweet with Sophia, he knows she is hesitant and that she is not experienced in the dating world. Once Sophia decides to take the risk they are a dynamic couple and I thought the problems they faced were realistic and you are rooting that they will figure it out. Very fun read.

STEALING HIS HEART is a captivating baseball romance with characters that are easy to relate to and off the charts chemistry. Sophia Ballis has just graduated from college with a teaching degree and hopes of becoming a music teacher. While out for a run she literally runs into professional baseball player, Paxton Hughes the newest pitcher for the Kingston Crushers. Sophia is tongue tied and her shyness intrigues Paxton, who usually has women throwing themselves at him. Paxton’s never met anyone like Sophia and he finds himself instantly attracted to her and protective.

Baseball’s always been Paxton’s first priority and he’s never had time for a relationship. He has a well earned playboy reputation and is seldom with the same woman twice. Sophia knows about Paxton’s reputation and worries he may hurt her, but Paxton does his best to show Sophia that she’s different from all the other women in his wild past. I liked everything about Paxton, especially his southern drawl. He’s a nice guy who enjoys his fame and fortune and is now ready to find a nice girl and settle down. From the moment Paxton meets Sophia, there’s no doubt in his mind she’s the one and he continually tries to prove much how he cares for her. Paxton’s sweet, down to earth and even though he’s one of the best pitchers in the league, it hasn’t gone to his head. There’s a lot of passion and heat whenever Paxton and Sophia are together. This is the second book in this series and each one is a stand-alone. Ella Jade writes an intoxicating story and I can’t wait to read more in the Kingston Heat series.

This is definitely a must read and Ella Jade did a wonder job writing this book.

I received an ARC copy for an honest review.

I loved Jax and Sophia together. Here you have the famous baseball player and playboy in Jax and the sweet and proper music teacher in Sophia. They live different lives but from the moment that they met they are drawn to each other in ways that neither can explain, but they want the chance to see where their feelings take them.

Sophia has watched him run at a distance and gives him his space due to his fame UNTIL he steps in one morning and causes her to bump into him. She knows his track record with women, because it is all laid out in the papers, but he is quick to tell her not to believe everything that she reads.

Jax knows from the moment that he sees her in the bar, that he don’t want her with anybody else, and he is willing to do whatever necessary to make that happen. And that means that she is the only women that he wants and will do anything to prove that to her.

This book was well written and the best part for me was the natural build-up of their relationship, meaning they didn’t just hop right into bed together and have meaningless sex. Sophia didn’t trust him not to break her heart and wanted to get to know him first. They talked for hours on end, had dates and they naturally built up to sex and when it did happen JAX didn’t disappoint. But there is also an OMG that didn’t just happen moment, and it was brilliantly written into the story, and leaves you shaking your head and almost in tears for both of them.

When Sophia Ballis ran into (literally) Paxton (Pax) Hughes during her morning jog, she had no idea that she'd set her happily ever after into motion. Sophia is the shy, unassuming local schoolteacher, and Paxton is the gregarious pitcher for the town's Major League Baseball team, with a reputation for being a scandalous playboy. Sophia can't deny her attraction, but Pax is way out of her league.

Paxton has lived a charmed life. He's had more than his fair share of women and his reputation is well deserved. Meeting Sophia tips the applecart on him and changes his world as he knew it. He is drawn to her in a way that he's never been drawn to a woman before, and he becomes determined to win over her trust and ultimately her heart.

Oh, this book was so sweet! The pacing was a little quick for me—for a bad boy manwhore, Pax sort of abandoned his randy ways awfully quickly—but the chemistry that Pax and Sophia had was incredible, and they definitely won me over in the end. Their story is emotional, sweet, swoony and dead sexy. Pax is a dirty talker, y'all. Hot damn!

This book doesn't blaze any new trails, but it combines a bunch of things I love into a perfect, happy-making package: Sexy baseball players, likeable (strong) heroines, dirty talkin', kindle steaming sexy times, and a happy ending that left me with the biggest smile on my face. If you're looking for something lighthearted and sweet with a hefty dash of spice, this is a sure thing. ~ Shelly, 3.5 stars

I read this book in a few hours and I have to say I enjoyed it, most of all Pax. It's well paced , sexy and has just enough intrigue and angst to keep me interested. Pax is very alpha, an athlete, sweet and makes for some steamy hot scenes.
So why not 5 stars?Sophia, the main female character is very independent, but I found her to be too much of a "saint", and while she was not a virgin, had the cliched limited experience. Her and Pax do the "insta-love" thing , they form a quick relationship that goes wonderfully well until a "fight" , which honestly didn't make a whole lot of sense to me.  I got what the fight was about, I just think it was a small thing blown out of proportion. Thankfully, that was cleared up towards the end.  I found that there were a couple of loose ends in the story, which I don't know if it means those will be tied up in the second book.  ( I won't say what these were because I'd give away important plot points )Overall, it was a quick and enjoyable read, perfect for relaxing by the beach or pool!

"I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads"

Sports romances are a strong favourite of mine, and Ms Jade has just joined the list of writers who do it with great style. This is a sexy, warm and appealing story, with a slew of lovely characters and a bad guy to stir things up. Pax is hot, devoted and misunderstood. Sophia is quiet, disbelieving and the apple of her parents' eye. The chemistry between them turns into something more than either expected, but can they make it last through the glare of publicity... and then communications breaks down. There were plenty of hints as to who gets their story next, I am off to read Sliding Into Second straightaway!

I love books where a player basically has his heart stole. This book was no exception. Paxton Hughes is one of the biggest players in the MLB. His amazing pitching arm and his Texan drawl helps him land any female he wants for the night. He recently signed a new contract and has moved to Rhode Island to play for the Kingston Crushers. Sophia Ballis has recently graduated college and moved back home to work as a music assistant at the local elementary school. She is shy and very innocent. They are complete opposites in personality but their hearts know they belong together. I enjoyed watching these two fall in love. I enjoyed watching Pax give up his player ways and really show Sophia that she means something to him. I especially loved seeing him bond with her parents, especially her dad. I didn't like his friend Kenny and his attitude toward Pax and Sophie's relationship. Every book has it's climax and my heart broke for these two when they hit there's, but i can honestly say I was happy with the end results. I do wish that there would have been more of an epilogue, not that I didn't like the ending, but I would have loved to see more of the HEA. All together this was a great book and I would highly recommend it.

Sophia’s love life takes an unexpected turn when she bumps into professional baseball player Paxton. An instant attraction forms and Paxton begins wooing the music teacher. Sophia find herself falling hard and fast for Paxton, yet is worried about his past reputation as a ladies man.

This is a good, steamy sports romance story. You can sense the chemistry between Sophia and Paxton right from the start. Sophia is relatable because of her fears about her new relationship. As for Paxton, even though he’s got a past, he’s changed for the better and is proving that with Sophia.

Of course the couple face challenges along the way, including the long-distance. The author does a great job of exploring the aspects of a long-distance relationship with Sophia and Paxton’s different careers.

Between their love story and their sensual scenes, Sophia and Paxton are a couple you’ll fall in love with.

Pax And Sophia

Pax who was a big player on and off the field, saw Sophia jogging and knew he had to meet her. He set it up so that she would bump into him. She left and he didn’t get her name, she knew who he was because she was a big baseball fan.
Later that night he once again saw her at a party his team was having. They started dating and it wasn’t long before they were an item.
His best friend tried his best to break them up and almost did. They had a ton of ups, downs and misunderstandings, but found their HEA in the end.

Sophia Ballis has been hurt before and isn't looking for a man in her life. When she goes out for a daily run in her neighborhood she literally runs into a man she couldn't help but notice recently. Professional baseball pitcher Paxton Hughes has noticed Sophia and made sure that he had a chance to meet her. Paxton is intrigued by Sophia and feels drawn to her. Sophia is guarded but can't help the attraction she feels to Paxton. I found this a sweet, and steamy read with great characters.

This was a fast moving story that kept me really interested. I liked the sports romance. Sophia and Pax were really good together! They had one fight or argument and Pax's friend, Kenny, lied to Sophia where Pax was. The ending was really good!

This is book 1 and while the reader did a good job with it, there were a few things the reader wanted more of...like actual baseball...not just the romance part of the story.

This reader will give book 2 a shot and will decide from there if she is a fan of the series/author or not...stay tuned.

I hate the whole inexperienced heroine trope. I also hate the whole “a guy hurt me so I’m gonna become a nun until the hero” trope even more.

And don’t even get me started on the hero’s best friend… he tried to sabotage their relationship twice, but nothing was done about it.

**JOSIE'S REVIEW**

Ella Jade’s Stealing His Heart is the first book in The Kingston Heat Series. It is a lovable, steamy fun read that will have you wanting to read the next page.

Paxton and Sophia are total opposites but they just cannot stop the growing attraction. Paxton "accidentally" bumps into Sophia while she is jogging in a park by her house and for Paxton that was all it took for him to see she was different.

Sophia lives with her parents. She does not go out. She is a shy music teacher that does not date. Sophia had a bad experience in college that left her scarred, hurt and put off from dating. After finishing college she was able to get a job at an elite private school and her main goal are her students and ways to keep the program running. She and her father are diehard fans of the Kingston Crushers, the hometown baseball team. She is happy staying home with her family and spending time with her best friend, Maggie.

Paxton Hughes is the pitcher for the Kingston Crushers. He is the most sought-after pitcher in the league. Paxton is a player on and off the field. He is famous for his one night stands and a highly publicized threesome. Paxton is the opposite of Sophia but maybe a one night stand with the baseball player is not that bad of an idea.

“It’s great seeing different places and meeting new people, but it gets tiring. You seem like someone I could get used to.”

“I liked getting to know you too.”

Their relationship starts off slow and it is not what each was looking for. After talking to Sophia that one night, he saw that she was different. Pax saw a future with her. He saw that she would be much more than a one night stand, instead he wanted every night. Sophia was looking for a no string attachment. She wanted a one night stand and a jump start in her love life. Paxton is adorable and takes Sophia presence as a calming force to every chaotic life, and Sophia is content and happy that he wants more with just her.

“When I have a one-night stand that’s exactly what it is, sugar. There isn’t a repeat performance.”

“Isn’t that the point?”

“Yeah. With you it’s different. I see many repeat performances.”

Their relationship is not an easy one. Paxton is always away at games and of course his public life is also an issue with Sophia. Sophia’s job is conservative and she is not used to being in the spot light. Trusting Paxton and not believing what is the tabloid is a dangerous thing. For Paxton, his past sexual life has never been a problem until Sophia.

“Why do you keep pulling away from me?”

“Because you’ve had sex with two women. I meant at the same time.”

“I do have a reputation.”

“A very public one.”

“I can’t take back the things I did sugar. I wish I could, but social media and the paparazzi make sure my every step is well documented.”

Paxton does something he never has before; he takes it slow with Sophia knowing he wants it to be more. The two begin a relationship that his manager and team mates are not used to. When Paxton sees Sophia out in the stands cheering him he feels complete, like he is invincible. Sophia knows the career Paxton has is challenging. She will be there to support him and is ok with them taking things slow. But when it finally happens, MOTHER HELL PAXTON has a dirty mouth and he is good.

“I know you are not used to be exclusive.”

“I want to be exclusive with you. I don’t want anyone else you touch you. I want to be the only one who calls you his. I want you to be mine and only mine.”

“I want that. I want to be yours, but you have to be mine.”

“I can make you come many times tonight. We can start now. I’ll use my mouth to do it once we’re in side. I know how you like to come on my tongue.”

“Yes.”

“Do you want to play right here? You’re so wet. Do you want me to make you mine over and over again.”

“You know I do.”

“You re one gorgeous woman. I’m going to finger you now. Nice and slow, just like I promised.”

“Pax. Don’t hold back.”

“Move your hips with me. Pretend I’m f**king you. Let me see how wild you can get. I feel how tight you are. I can wait to get my c**k inside that sweet pu**y.”

Will Pax and Sophia find their forever despite the challenge of Pax being away a lot? Will Pax’ past tear them apart? Will Sophia be able to trust that Pax will never hurt her? Pax loves the game but does he love it more than Sophia?

You will definitely love this read and get attached to both these characters. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series. I am anxious to find out who it will be about.

I received a complimentary copy from the author/publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Stealing His Heart, (Kingston Heat 1), Ella Jade

Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews

Genre:  Romance,

I’ve read a few baseball reads now – here in the UK its not a major sport, that’s Football and Cricket...but I’ve kind of picked up the way its so important in US that the top players become stars. I still don’t understand too much of the game itself but I can get pulled along with the excitement anyway.
I loved Sophia and her family, the closeness they shared, her love of the sport that her dad had given to her, and the way they still got such pleasure from going to matches with each other, discussing and dissecting the play. Her enthusiasm over teaching music came through too, and she was clearly a popular person at the school. She’s a genuinely nice lady, and reading about her past, the ex who let her down so badly, I could understand why she’d kind of withdrawn from dating. She’s the kind of person that knocks like she received from the jerk have a huge impact. She can’t shrug it off as others would – her friend Maggie for example. She’s another lovely lady but very different, and she’d be able to just put it behind her and think “ what a jerk”. People cope in such different ways.
Maggie is determined its time for Sophia to pick up her romantic life again, and says a one night stand is the way to go. Her new boyfriend works for the local team and provides the “in” to meeting some of the players in a local club. Maggie knows many of them love the attention and will be happy to give Sophia a good night, and bring her out of her past and into the present.
Sophia isn’t really a one night girl though, but reluctantly agrees to go with her. She meets Pax there – and he’s delighted to find the mystery lady he bumped into by “accident “ that morning. He’s known for his playboy/manwhore ways but he sees Sophia as different, and wants suddenly what he’s always dismissed. More than one night, more than a fleeting affair and he respects her. They start dating and for a while life is perfect.
It’s a fun read, flows well and has some great characters. I loved the addition of Pax’ long time friend, he played a perfect role and I understood him well. Pax was lovely, and he really knew his past was something he had to work to prove to Sophia that it was his past, that with her he was different. I really enjoyed this, great romance build up, perfect drama and knock down. I do love the intensity of the dramatic parts and it worked well here. There’s some great sexy, sensual love scenes too – well written, not the stomach cringing ones, no man meat, no love buttons, no fluttering, quivering openings ( really they make the vagina sound like a butterfly) – argh I hate terms like those – so it was great to read some scenes that used erotic phrases, not those awful type ones we see too often. One day I’m going to compile a list of terms that are used but sound so awful..anyway – Hurrah, none of ‘em here!

Stars: Five, a sexy, spicy read and a great romance.

Review for Stealing His Heart by Ella Jade

Stealing His Heart is the first book in The Kingston Heat Series by Ella Jade - it’s a sweet, sexy read that will have you flipping pages well into the night. I had a hard time putting this one down. In true Ella fashion she created a world and characters that spoke to my sensitivities. I couldn’t get enough of Paxton and Sophia, these two get under your skin whether you give them permission to or not.

Sophia is a shy music teacher… she doesn’t date. Her college boyfriend left her hurting and instead of putting herself out there and through that kind of pain again she focused on making the grade. Once she got her job at an exclusive private school she turned her focus to growing a music program so she can teach kids her passion - music

Paxton Hughes is a professional baseball player, the most coveted pitcher in the league to be exact. He’s a take no prisoners player on the field and the king of one-night stands between the sheets. He is the exact opposite of anything Sophia thinks she wants, but the sexy baseball player is exactly what she needs.

Their romance starts out exactly the opposite of what each were looking for. Sophia wants a one-night, no-strings-attached fling to get herself back out into the dating world and Paxton looks at Sophia and sees a future he never thought he would want. Can they find middle ground or will they strike out on love?

You’ll definitely want to read this book and find out how the electric attraction plays out.

This book gets FIVE stars for a sweet, refreshing storyline that offers a FOUR drenched panties smut level that will have you panting for more Paxton.

"Darlin', I'm from Texas where everything is bigger."

Paxton Hughes is a baseball player from Texas now living in Rhode Island for the Kingston rushers. Pax is OMG handsome and can be quite the player. No one has ever been able to tame this bad boy of baseball.

Enter Sophia Ballis! Not your typical girl next door but pretty darn close. She is just trying to make ends meet and establish her teaching career. While out on her daily morning runs, she has been noticing the new guy and thinks that he is handsome, but being shy she would never make a move. Lucky for us, Pax makes it for her! Although they share a few minutes of conversation, Sophia has to run off to get ready for work and leave without giving her name. Both are a little bummed but Sophia's best friend has her best interest at heart and convinces her to go the local bar in hopes of running into Pax. Afterall, the entire team always go there after the home games!

Our couple happen to run into each other and the sparks are electrifying. Soon we have a couple that just cannot get enough of each other. But as all love stories go, there must be some trouble ahead. And talk about a complete misunderstanding that spirals way out of control.

Time passes, more time then should have but such is life, and the bond these two share can not be denied. Once they talk out their issues and all secrets are out in the open, they finally get back together! And yes, Pax can steal my heart any day of the week!!

This was another well told story by the lovely Ella Jade. And lucky for us, there will be another story in this Kingston Heat Series!! That ought to just as hot and steamy as this one. I am a huge fan and she hasn't let me down yet. I cannot wait to see what she will give us next!!

I personally love romances that have shy heroines and wealthy self assured hero's that have women falling all over themselves. In Stealing His Heart author Ella Jade wrote a short romance on this very subject.

Our shy heroine in the story is music teacher Sophia Ballis because of an experience several years ago while in college she is a bit gun shy about getting back in the game of dating. While living with her parents she is focusing on her new job at a local private school teaching music hoping that there will be enough funding in the school budget to bring her on full time. Our hero is professional baseball pitcher Paxton Hughes. Pax is a player both on and off the field with women lined up to be his next one night stand. Nothing can get in Pax's way when he wants something and he avoids any serious relationships because they make him loose focus on the game. Women are just something you use to blow off steam after a game. While out jogging one spring morning, the two collide, setting their course in motion. Pax is immediately drawn to the unassuming beauty. Sophia is aware of his reputation and decides one night of meaningless sex with the attractive Texas charmer is just what she needs to get over her self-imposed dry spell. But after one night will Pax be able to let her go?

Like I said I love this subject matter in a romance. Ella Jade did a fair job in keeping the romance story flowing. I did feel the end was rather abrupt and rushed....sensual level I would rate a hot and passionate 8. Ms Jade did write a good story so there is not just page after page of sex in this short story but it has a fair amount. I would recommend Stealing His Heart by Ella Jade a entertaining romance read.

This is my first read from Ella Jade and I am so glad she was brought to my attention.

I love sports romance books and this one did not disappoint. Loved Pax! He had a reputation as the horn dog, bad boy that only had to crook his finger and the girls came running to do his bidding in bed. What Pax didn't realize was that although the sex was fun and the partying time entertaining, there was something or someone better out there for him. He finds this out on a jog one morning.

Sophia is a music teacher. She's seen Pax a few mornings a week as she goes out on her runs in the mornings. She also knows about Pax's playboy reputation. Things change quickly when she literally bumps into Pax one morning on his run.

Sparks fly, passions ignite, and love blooms as these two start what soon becomes the best thing that has happened to either of them. Pax's game is on fire, all thanks to having Sophia in his life. He doesn't miss his playboy ways and wonders how he ever managed to survive without Sophia in his life. Unfortunately Pax's best friend and business manager doesn't see it that way and does what he can to sabotage their blossoming relationship.

Hearts get broken, love gets pushed aside, and lives get changed. Nothing is ever as it was.

This is a multi pov with a fantastic HEA! The storyline is great, the characters were so easy to become emotionally attached to and the dialogue between characters was done nicely to where I felt as if I was part of the conversation.

All in all, a fanfreakintastic read!

Would I recommend this book? Absolutely!!

Would I read more from this author? Yeppers!! I can not wait to read the next in the series and many more!

I am a huge fan of Ella Jade and her books and she did not disappoint with this book. I love that her books are on the shorter side and you can read them in a days time. This was good because I could not put Stealing his Heart down. I am a baseball fan and growing up I always said I wanted to marry a baseball player, so this book was right up my alley. I loved the characters and the supporting characters are great too.

Pax is a professional baseball player and is a PLAYER both on and off the field, he definitely has a reputation. He doesn't get involved for more than one night because his career comes first and he doesn't want a relationship with his crazy traveling lifestyle. That is until he literally runs into Sophia. She's different from all of the other girls he's met. He is the one chasing her instead of the usual other way around. Sophia is a temporary music teacher at a local school. She is in a huge huge relationship/relations dry spell, after being hurt by an ex in the past. She meets Pax and wants to use him and a one night stand to break her dry spell, but what happens when there could be more and she starts to develop real feeling.

Will these two strike out or hit a home run?

If you love a good romance, need a quick fun read, or fantasize about a HOT professional baseball player (baseball pants yum!!) then this book is for you!!! Loved it and would highly recommend it. Ella Jade you hooked me again and can't wait for Nics book Stealing into Second!!!

Sophia is sweet and mostly innocent. She's the typical girl next door that will have any man falling for her attention, but she doesn't realize it. Pax, however does. When their paths cross a second time so soon he thinks its kismet and knows there's something different about her that he wants to take his time exploring. Despite his past with women, she slowly begins to trust his intentions and lets her walls fall.

"You're dangerous, you know that?" He took her hand. "You have the poser to make me lose all control. That doesn't happen often."

They both know what they want and are both willing to try, but one night the pressure mixed with a little disappointment causes things to be said that weren't meant and a rift formed that wouldn't end. It probably would have if not for the wonderful Kenny and his little added involvement, but some people just can't help themselves. He was one character I definitely did not like.

"It's all you, number twenty-one. I have total faith in you."

Stealing His Heart is a sweet romance. I really enjoyed Paxton and Sofia's story. The only downsides was that I was all wrapped up in the story, but then it ended without finding out what happened with Kenny. I felt it was incomplete without that closure, especially since so much happened because of him.

My Favorite Moments: I loved when they surprised each other by being somewhere they weren't supposed to be....even if his attempt hadn't worked out quite like he'd planned.

Ella Jade manages to do it again. She's given us another steamy couple that develops their relationship quickly and passionately.

Paxton, is a star pitcher of the local pro baseball team, and well known playboy. Sophia has sworn off men since being hurt by her college boyfriend. But neither are prepared for the feelings that surface after they run into each other. Though Sophia is very reserved about showing Pax how she feels for him, with his past its not surprising. Paxton is determined to show her that he has changed and that his feeling are genuine for only her.

The way that Paxton is described I can completely understand how he became such a playboy. He has that athletic sexy man thing going. And even though Sophia is described as such a quiet, meek character, she also has that unassuming innocent sensuality going for her. Ella found a way to write the characters to be kind of a ying and yang to each other. They balance each others strength and weaknesses nicely.

The secondary characters are also amazing and leaving me wanting to know what happens with them in the future. This is story that you wont regret getting into.

Series: Kingston Heat #1
Category /Genre: Contemporary Romance, Sports
Received from: Ella Jade (in exchange for an honest review)
Recommended for: 18+ due to sexual content
Grammar/editing: B – a few small errors

This is book one of a new series.

This is a sweet love story between good girl, Sophia and bad boy Paxton. What I love is that Sophia may be a good girl, but that doesn’t make her a naïve innocent. She knows she is ready to have her world rocked and she has chosen the baseball bad boy, Paxton Hughes. What she didn’t count on was Pax being ready to hang up the bad boy image. Since the moment he runs into her during their daily runs in the park, he has felt something different about this woman. A one-night stand just will not be enough.

I enjoyed this easier, lighter read. It’s nice to have a little cotton candy every once in a while. This was the first of Ms. Jade’s books that I have read, but I will be picking up some more for when I need to relax. I look forward to continuing this series.
