Choosing to adapt the YA Jack Sparrow novels was an excellent idea. Those books are better than they have any right to be. Changing plot points, downplaying Jean, Tumen, and Constance, and turning Arabella into a sexy fan service character though? It's a travesty.

The writing captures none of the charm of the original and is hard to follow. The translation is barely serviceable. The art is bland and has way too many action lines. Unfortunately, choosing the right source material appears to be the only good choice that was made.
