This was a good series. The writing was very good and the story was exciting. I gave the story five stars and the two main characters three stars, which comes out to four stars. I really liked the story and the secondary characters, but Tabitha and Nickie were not very likable characters, way too much attitude and reminded me of my ex. Which is why she's my ex. Now, I really like strong female characters and I have a tendency to want to read stories depicting them, but when they are portrayed as these two characters were, it's too much. Their parts in the original Kurtherian Gambit were as secondary characters and the story wasn't about them as main characters, so it doesn't ruin that series. I still recommend this series, but be prepared for the extreme attitude, oh, and the language. Language doesn't bother me but it may bother you.
This box set of books had a slight twist to it. It switched back and forth between old friends Tabitha, her crew and new friends, Nickie and her crew. The storyline wove a fine line linking Nickie's realization she needs to return home to stories of Tabitha's exploits. The exploits explaining why she needs to return. Very satisfying.
Interesting concept to throw one to the wolves and see what’s comes out. Include an awaken AI, along with a plethora of other beings, which makes it even more interesting! Quite honestly, having read this duo before I totally expected chaos and mayhem. They did not let me down! Another entertaining read, thank you.
This series was great filling in blanks in the series. Getting to see more of Auntie Tabitha was fun as well as the splash of other favorite characters Recommended for those looking for coming of age story the Grimes way.
A superb series that is a great addition to the back story of Empress Bethany Anne & her extended family! Action, adventure, drama, tension, fun with a splash of love as well.....these books have it all!! I highly recommend them to you!
As always Ell Leigh and Micheal knock it out of the park with these two loveable misfit trouble makers. I definitely needed more Nikki and Tabitha in my life. Good to see ole Grim-zee get some book time too.
Well, this character, Nikki, is not what I expected. I will say I was disappointed, and kinda forced myself to finish the series. I will not choose another Nikki centric book. Her character seems about 12 years of age, spoiled and stunted emotionally This character just irritated me, the way that she reacted around old, familiar characters was just outlandish, and unbelievable.
