Elohim thumbed his nose at Eve's creation and started the countdown to annihilation.
With the relics of Juranthemon reassembled, the realms are collapsing in on themselves. When they hit ground zero, Earth will be recreated in a violent collision, destroying most life in the realms. If Elohim has his way, all life will be extinguished, paving the way for him to recreate things just the way he wants.
Justin and gang have only one option to save the realms. A primal seed of creation, a crystalis, might provide enough power for their resident demigoddess, Emily, to stop the collapse. Failing that, they might be able to recruit Eve, provided she doesn't go insane and kill them all.
But there are major obstacles. Olivia muted Justin's powers and Emily's powers were corrupted during her last altercation with Eve. Any attempt to use her powers causes an equal and opposite malaether explosion. If she tries to stop the collapse with a crystalis, she'll probably blow up half the universe instead.
She can't even reactivate Justin's powers without risking his life. With only days left until the realms are bulldozed into oblivion, Justin and gang must fix Emily, recruit a mad goddess, and kill Elohim or all life in the Earth realms will be gone forever.
If you like Jim Butcher, Kevin Hearne, Steve McHugh, Michael Anderle, Ilona Andrews, Patricia Briggs, Shannon Mayer, or K.F. Breene, you won't be able to put down the worldwide bestselling Overworld Chronicles or its spinoffs, Overworld Underground and Overworld Arcanum.
After 20 books, should I assume this is the end of the series? Time will tell. Without giving away the plot, suffice it to say that the saga of Justin and his friends goes out with a bang, a really big bang. Old enemies become friends while other old enemies become history. I need a break after having binge read the last 10 books in the past few weeks. But it was worth it.
What a fantastic way to end what I assume may be the end of a phenomenal series. Bringing together the whole gang you’ve come to know and love along with a few new characters reminded me of Marvel’s Endgame, absolutely brilliant. Now, bringing all these characters to life time and time again with what seems to be little effort is the amazingly talented voice acting of Austin Rising. Characters are easily distinguishable and consistent throughout this series. Fantastic pairing of author and narrator, well done!! This book has an HEA but as always, there is always a little something left that could indicate there’s plenty more of Justin Slade adventures out there. Be sure to check out the spin off series from Overworld Chronicles. I highly recommend this book/series!!
This series has been with me many many years since I discovered the very first book. Chances are you have read the others than this one will fit right in. Some items will be resolved and revealed but there is still room for more to come, so I’m looking forward to more news from Justin and his band of family and friends. If you have not read the other 19 books, get started with “Sweet Blood of Mine “ - you won’t be disappointed.
Love the series, read every book. Very well written and never boring. I recommend this author, John Corbin and I will definitely read some of his other books!!
