Forced to flee with only a few clothes and her two most cherished possessions, Harriet heads to the island-and runs smack dab into trouble when she finds a dead man mere hours after her arrival. Adding insult to injury, she is the only possible suspect.
Not even moved into her new office and she's already bringing bad PR to the resort. Trying to impress her new boss while suspected of murder makes settling in next to impossible. Harriet's only option? Find out who killed her ex. And while she's at it, discover who is stalking her and why.

In my younger days, my curiosity and love of nature led me to climb mountains, canoe rivers, and explore caves and wilderness areas from Maine to California. I've been shot at, caught in a desert flash flood, and almost drowned off the Maine coast. Once I tobogganed down a 5,000+ foot mountain.

Life is always an adventure if you have the right attitude.

I never set out to be a storyteller, but looking back on the elaborate lies I made up as a troubled teen (and there were some doozies) I can see that I always had the makings. Now I put that skill set to a more acceptable use–writing stories for entertainment.

Harriet (Harry to her friends) Monroe landed her dream job: Public Relations Director for a resort on a small island. Leaving behind the harsh Maine weather and her overly possessive ex-boyfriend, a fresh start will allow her to begin again. If only said ex-boyfriend hadn't followed her and if only he wasn't now dead...

Stalked in Paradise was pure entertainment: a non-taxing read that I'd loved to have taken to the beach if it was beach weather. Main character, Harry, is sympathetic while her best friend is a great support to her plotwise and also deepens her persona. Harry's conflicts with various co-workers as well as her coming to terms with her new job furthered her development.

Charley Marsh has created a delightful new cosy series. I can't wait to get my hands on the next one!

To start off, I found this book by random on Amazon and just decided to read it on Kindle but it turned out better than I thought!

Considering this is a series and I read just Book 1, my review would be entirely based on Book 1 then. I guess I just didn't feel the need to read on since each book of the series isn't quite related to each other but anyways. This is a crime book as well, which again I was absorbed in reading haha! On a side note, I quite expected it to include romance (like most crime novels do) and the plot wasn't one of peculiar notice as it was quite cliche. Wouldn't say it's the ideal crime book I was looking for (since it was sourced by random), but rating it a 3 would explain why!

The murderer was introduced quite late in the book, which I was a little disappointed when I found out their identity. I thought if the author brought out the character earlier and have them be casually included in the earlier parts of the story, it would bring out a more unexpected twist rather than the typical murder plot. The investigation involving a long list of suspects did help in bringing out the message of the interrogation being a long and arduous process, in which romance came along. I wouldn't say it's entirely unnecessary, but I felt that if the author tackled the plot by boldly jumping to straightforward clues that pointed to the murderer, it would better bring out the significance of the Detective's role in the book.

Needless to say, I am doing a review about it as it's still a good read mainly due to the descriptions used in the book. It was more like gaining lots of new phrases for essays, but enjoying the story definitely contributed to a part of it as well!

Charley Marsh's first book in the series, Stalked in Paradise, was a delightful read. It was a smooth and easy read. Perfect for a day at the beach! (Or trapped on a plane like I was!) The plot was complete with enough twists to keep you guessing. I loved the background on all of the main characters. The setting was fun for me as I read it while winging my way to a Caribbean island. It is a fast read. I thoroughly enjoyed it and have now downloaded the second book. I appreciate clean books, and love murder mysteries, so this one was exactly what I was looking for.

I Want To Go There!

This was a fun read with two distinct mysteries going on. I like all the main characters, but I think love entered the mix far too soon. Looking forward to #2.
