They call me the fixer. The PR Fixer. As in public relations.
Did you sleep with your assistant at the product launch party and now you’re up for CIO against candidates with far more stellar reputations? I’m the woman who can fix that.
Did you get arrested with hookers and cocaine in your sports car on a joyride after your latest concert in a zero-drug policy country? I can fix that too.
From my experience, musicians are the biggest perpetrators of the PR nightmare. The old sex, drugs and rock-n-roll cliche? I’ve seen it too many times.
Then there’s Jade Wood, lead singer of Uncaged with a voice like a God and the attitude to match. On tour and unhinged, I doubt I’ll be able to dig him out of the big fat mess that is his life. Because there’s a whole lot more at stake here. For starters, Jade has no idea who I really am. And I’m going to have to do things I never signed up for.
I just hope I can survive this job…..with my heart still intact.
**** Jaded Heart is a Standalone enemies-to-lovers romance between a bad boy rockstar and the woman who could bring him to his knees. The books in the Stone Cold Heart series can be read in any order.
If you want to read a juvenile, hot mess of a story with a douche-noodle that sticks his pickle in everything in front of him and a heroine who has no brains whatsoever other then her lady parts, this is for you.
It had the potential to be so good. I couldn't even finish it. Everything was so rushed and the amount of errors the editors should have caught but didn't makes it hard to read. I also hate how every paragraph is a whole inner monologs about absolutely nothing. I cannot stress how rushed it was. They see each other 1 time and he is spiraling about how in love he is with her. 2nd time she sees him and talks with him she is dripping wet???? HELL NO. Again, couldn't even finish it. This was an unrealistic scenario, to begin with, but the author made it somehow even more unrealistic. I hate this book. I hate this book. I hate this book. I hate this book. I hate this book.

At 4:30 AM, several time zones away, Sage (known as “Layla” in her high school days) was awakened by a call from Ledge Scott, the band manager for the rock band, Uncaged. Not only was she currently on vacation, now and for the next several weeks – and why did her agency give out her cell number -- but she would never work for this particular client. When Ledge pressed her about the “emergency”, she hung up. Just NO. But two hours later she woke and still curious about the emergency, she headed out for a run to relax. Sage was a PR Fixer who fixes damaged reputations of people in the public eye, such as rock bands because musicians were probably the biggest cause for a PR nightmare. But her cell phone had been silenced, and the battery died, and she left it charging in a pub – so she was incommunicado while she enjoyed the sights in London and Bath.
Ledge Scott poked his foot into Jade’s rib, telling him to get off the floor. He had trashed a green room, spilled stuff all over the gear backstage, and shot out 50 stage lights with an airsoft rifle. Their tour just got officially cancelled because of him. The hotels are angry, and the venues won’t insure them anymore. Without the insurance, they have no future tour dates. This was really serious, and they were tired of all the destruction of property. So if Jade couldn’t pull himself together, present a clean image, he was done. Lead singer or not, he could not go on the way he has been. And none of them want to be his babysitter. It was no longer “fun”.
During the band’s trip to Europe, Sage finally accepted the PR Fixer job as long as she didn’t have to meet with “him” in person. She emailed that he was to check in with her at 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. by email. She checked and he hadn’t even read what she sent him. So she went to a pub with her phone. And as she started inside, she heard him singing. She hid behind a curtain and, as a crowd formed outside listening to him, she started her PR fixing and told them he was recording. When he finished, he scanned the crowd and his eyes met and locked on hers. She turned in a panic and ran as he yelled behind her, “Laylaaaaaasa”. He had seen her and recognized her. What was she going to do now?
She is no longer sure she can help him. She thinks Jade has no idea who Sage is. But she’s not sure her heart can survive being this close to him again.
This was a really good story that draws the reader right in! Jade is a train wreck and now his high school muse, Layla, is here in London! Will he find her again? Can she help him as “Sage” when she is also falling apart now? Grab your copy and let yourself be drawn in. This is a story that will definitely hook your attention!
I was so mad at this book because the premise was great and the storyline had potential. But I simply couldn’t finish.
It just doesn’t make sense to go from one day being a “rockstar who only cares about chicks” to then having your childhood crush from afar who hates you be your fake fiancé to THEN being in love with her and asking for the marriage to be real (and her agreeing?????) within 24 hours!!!! Especially when they haven’t spoken literally ever. Like in what world would I be rooting for that relationship and want to read further? Praying future readers save themselves the trouble ❤️✨

Second chance for a second life It's a great second chance between Jade and Layla. The story is quite tender, a little hot, while keeping it simple. Jade is a rockstar in distress in the throes of rock, who is being picked up by his PR, whom he only got by email and doesn't want to have at first. During his trip to Europe, he reunites with Layla, his high school muse who had misunderstood what he wanted then. Their reunion is strained, as is their trust in each other. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
This was a really good book, but it was just too short. I never even saw Cage, from Uncaged Heart. It was solely focused on Jade and Sage (aka Layla), which was fine, since that was who the book was about, but I would've liked to hear more about Cage and Story, and how they're doing now. Anyway, it was a good quick read, so I would recommend it.

From the title and the blurb, we have a good idea of where this book is heading. Lead singer Jade, living the rockstar life, has pushed it too far, and now the tour is canceled. Sage is a fixer. If you need to spin to negative press, she is the best out there. But there is so much more to this story.
Jade and Sage have a history; it goes back to Middle School. Then she vanished. Ten years later, their paths cross; this is that story. All the hurt and mistrust must be aired out before they can move forward. Can they work past the pain they have caused each other? Will she fix his reputation? Will the tour resume?
Thank you to Booksprout and the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.
I can never be bothered to do a review but this book was so utterly shocking I needed to.
To start off it was very short. I had expected this when I saw the page number but in the pace was so fast it felt like I was on wattpad. The writing is so poor and childlike there’s no room for foreshadowing, no reader to ask questions or feel tension building up. The fact it’s labels as an Enemies to lovers is laughable. They are far from it.
I really could not stand jade. His attitude towards women was immature and insensitive from the start, blaming his attitude on his rockstar life style. But even when spending time with the women he supposedly loved, he treated her like shjt. Took barely any responsibility for his actions and if anything made her out to be the issue. The whole fast driving thing really irked me as well. She had asked for him to slow down and he even admitted to be a cunt for it but carried on driving anyway. He gave me immediate rule from it ends with us vibes.
▪︎ "You're going to break my heart," I whispered. ▪︎
This book was so promising, but basically fell flat. The story is missing length, depth and just overall connection. Trust me, I love me some good hot scenes, the pull between the characters, the grovelling, the love. But not in this book because it wasn't there. The story was supposed to be about adults but it just felt like I was reading about horny teenagers. •
It literally ends after zero true conflict, like you think, okay they are happy is he going to fix anything? Change at all? Nope... marry me? No we need to do this, this and this then we can talk about it the end...one eon later....happiness.
Very good book but the miscommunication!! Plus it was very short and sweet so felt their relationship was very rushed but overall still a good read for me.
This book was okay. I hated the first book but wanted to give this one a chance. It was way better but still missing things. The book seems almost half written. It is very fast paced and doesn’t make a lot of sense at times. The beginning was good but then all of a sudden she is actually Layla and he is in love with her. Next their together. Like there isn’t a natural flow to the plot points they just crash together. The ending was okay but very abrupt. The book is too short for me. Even just like 4 chapters spread throughout the book could’ve made this book for me. I also wouldn’t call it enemies to lovers at all. If anything it’s a second chance. I don’t know if I would recommend this just because it’s kind of all over the place and very misleading. I think it the book just explain things more it would be very good. Overall it was okay and way better than the first one and I kind of like it so I’m adding .5. I wish I could rate it higher but I can’t. Wanted to like it so bad but I can’t. 2.5/5
layla changed her name to sage because she thought she was embarrassed by the boy she had a crush on since seventh grade jade has been in love with Layla but they never said anything to each other. fast forward 10 years and he meets her when she’s baling him out of jail as his or agent they go into hiding because everyone believes she’s in fiancé . when she got him out of jail that’s the only person who can bail him or they wouldn’t let his PR person in without identification and she didn’t have it. there leaving town to get away from the media. they stop for layla to get clothes when he finds out she’s safe his manager pr. he gets upset and when they get to out of town a shop owner lets them use his boathouse because all the other places are booked because an author is coming to town. they are mad at each other for a minute until they talk out the issues between them. he tells her to marry him and the rest is history.
this isn’t a review this is for me just to remember what i read. so i can get-a. refresh when i look back at this book
I thought the book was good, but I also felt it was all over the place.
Sage is known as the PR Fixer, she can fix any mess someone has gotten into, and Jade, a member of Uncaged, has gotten himself into a big mess or two.
I thought it started out good, but also felt it didn't give much informations. Randomly halfway through the book, we find out Sage is actually named Layla and went to high school with Jade.
Then the manager mentions chemo, which is never mentioned again, unless I'm forgetting.
I thought the trope of second chance romance and the plot of it was a good idea, but felt it was a little all over the place

It reads like it was supposed to be 400 pages and the author got bored and wrapped it up in under 200. The beginning sets up his relationship with fans and women, Sage's history of being bullied at school, the big Homecoming dance that went wrong.... but then none of that goes anywhere? She just instantly insta-commits to him after they bang on like day 2. Oh, and there's this whole setup of her being a PR wiz and you NEVER SEE THAT. SHE DOESNT FIX ANYTHING AT ALL.
You know what... I had this at 3 stars, but I've talked myself down to 2.
There was so much back and forth in this book, damn... I was so conflicted when I finished this book because I rarely rate any book below 3 stars, and to some extent I liked some parts of the book, but on a whole, this was a huge miss.
The problem is that I genuinely think that with a little more improvement this book would have been an easy 4 star read. Not sure about others but I liked the idea of the book, but the execution didn't live up to the idea that the reel I initially saw had built up in my mind.
Jade is a famous misguided mess because of a botched plan back in high school. Layla is a sucessful mess who was a victim of the same plan. Years later and they reunite under some weird circumstance. From there it's a test forgiveness and a whole lot of catching up in the best way. A fun and exciting rockstar read. This is an enemies to lovers story-a trope that I love to read. I absolutely loved Sage. She was a kick ass take no prisoners type of girl. On the other hand we have Jade, a singer of a rock band who is seriously thinking of kicking the singer from the tour. Enter Sage. I really loved this story, I loved the first person point of view of the story, which is always a deal breaker for me. 5 stars.

The book would have been better if Jade was fleshed out more and didn’t alternate between hating and loving/obsessing over Layla. Honestly I found the monologues where he was upset with her to loving her and giving us a history of Greek mythology to be tiresome. Both main characters were immature. If it wasn’t for Layla being slightly less annoying and more mature this would have been a DNF.
This book could have been good but the writing was bad and it was rushed. I cannot tell you one thing that is interesting about the mmc all I know is that he loves to talk about the girls he has had sexual relations with- This girl.... she was......... hmmmmm...... there are no words to describe her honestly. I cannot tell you anything about her.
Awful honestly, the fl doesn’t seem to have a mind of her own and think only with her vagina. The ml is pure trash and doesn’t make up for it. There’s no love, just lust. And the spice wasn’t even that good
This book was kinda just okay? The build up was fine, kinda to be expected, but the lovers part of “enemies to lovers” wasn’t satisfying at all. It felt like it got thrown in at the end to get there but wasn’t as fleshed out as it could’ve been. Still cute, still fun, just rushed.
This was a cute rockstar romance with his high school secret love interest. I enjoyed the read. I would have liked more sex scenes and more drawn out romance
It was not a good read. The story made almost no sense and the guy was an obsessive, incompetent child who was an asshole. I have nothing good to say about these characters and this writing.
