A salt lick is a place that has salt where animals come to lick. Interesting. Recently, the History channel finally decided to make a film/documentary on actual history about Frontiersman. It’s well-made and provides a lot of the information that’s found here much more in-depth about folks like Boone.

I grabbed about 30ish books from school and this one, I hope, is for K-3rd graders.

This is an easy read biographical and informational text. Primary students can read about the life of Daniel Boone and each of hia accomplishments. It also includes information on his hobbies. It tells about his many territorial battles over Fort Boonesborourgh in Kentucky. He and his wife had 10 children. Boone died at the age of 85. This book is a great reference material to add to your classroom library. It is an easy read that the students can use when presenting or writing reports.
