How do we love people we don’t agree with? How do we care for and show respect to those who aren’t like us? As we open our Bible and begin to read the very first chapter of Genesis, we discover all men and women are created equal in God’s image. We are endowed with the same rights and designed with the same qualities by an all-powerful Maker. This thread of equality runs throughout the entirety of God’s word and as Christians, we are commanded to express those values to others. We need to equip ourselves with the knowledge of God’s word to combat the false teaching of racism, sexism, gender inequality, age discrimination, and other forms of bias that denies the rights God Himself has given to all humans. In this devotional, let’s learn about how we, as believers, are commanded to live out these truths of equality and diversity.
Landen Melton deserves well earned kudos for bringing this, his third project in print, together. Instead of having cable news or social media tell you and your family what to think about the vast variety of humans sharing space together in our country in God's world, Melton provides a biblical grid to process these topics together as a famliy pacing yourself over 16 weeks. Not only are the devotionals in this book thoughtfully written, the addition discussion questions and Scriptures provided with each topic provide a perfect backdrop for understand what God has in mind rather than media moguls or political party.
I love being part of this compilation book by Devotable. I appreciate that the book is designed for the whole family: kids and parents to explore together the Biblical perspective on equality and human relationships. Much needed resource in these times!
