Probably one of rhe best future titles next to wonder woman. Dick is still charming yet more serious than before. The fact the fights are great and watching Nightwing team up with a certain somebody got me excited.

I really enjoyed this one! The art was beautiful (always love Nicola Scott's work) and the story is interesting. A team up I've been wanting to see is set up here! Dick's writing is a bit more like what you'd expect from Jason, but considering the events that have transpired, it could be that we're getting something more like Outsiders era Dick Grayson. I'm on board!

I like this comic better than The Next Batman but not quite as much as I liked Robin Eternal. I like the Nightwing character and I like the way that Andrew Constant wrote him. Good artwork. Good story. It will be fun to see how this one turns out.

Dick Grayson has always been one of my favorite heroes. When I was a kid, I wanted to be Robin. When I was in college, I was older than Robin, and then he became Nightwing. If I'd still been in college, I would have wanted to be Nightwing.

This re-imagining of Dick Grayson/Nightwing for the Future State series is harder and colder, more like Batman, which I thought would never happen. But he's a good hero for this world. I'm enjoying him in this new role and look forward to seeing where he goes from here.

Uh...ok, so I'm a serious comic nerd, but...OMG Nightwing fan girl override ☜ ( ◜‿◝ )♡ !! Phew. More of those scenes please ✿ \(◎o◎)/ ✿

I'll try to compose myself. Nightwing love aside, I also think this is one of the stronger FS titles. It's even better than a standard Nightwing issue, to be honest. There's a reason Dick wears the suit when Bats can't, and this issue alone shows why. He's seriously even thinking like Bruce. I love it. The art, the story, the shower...oh, sorry, fangirling again! ;)

Not only is this one of my top three nightwing designs, the art was absolutely delicious and the story was great. The little twist at the end wasn’t all that creative and I was expecting a grander master plan from Dick, but I still loved the parallels in the story and how it all played out. I need more rebel leader Dick Grayson.

Good team up. Good art. The fights are actually pretty good. One of the better future State titles so far

I like how DC is doing the Future State Gotham stories much more than I thought I would. It all feels like one coherent story over several titles.

I have to be honest, I was quite disappointed when I read Future State: Teen Titans, and didn't really like what was done with Dick Grayson in that title, so I'm so glad that there's a dedicated Nightwing title, and that the character gets a chance to shine here.

The issue follows Dick in Gotham under the rule of the Magistrate, a future where Batman is dead, and his allies are either in prison or on the run. Dick has been leading the masked resistance against the forces of the Magistrate, and this has led him to being one of the most wanted men in the city. Thankfully, he seems to be one step ahead of the bad guys, and is able to pick up on the traps being laid for him across the city.

This is one of the more fun parts of the book, seeing this back and forth between Dick and the Magistrate as they set a trap for him, that he easily sees coming, but then it turns out that trap was a ruse and they're secretly tracking him, but he knows this and is using it against them. It's an almost ridiculous back and forth between the two sides, and if it wasn't Dick being several steps ahead I'm not entirely sure I'd buy it; but this is a Dick who's become more like Bruce in order to survive, and this is totally a move that Bruce would make.

That being said, he's still the Dick Grayson that fans will know and love, despite having developed a darker edge, and there are some moments of humour scattered throughout the book to help lighten the mood from time to time. I was also a fan of the meeting between Dick and the new Batman, and liked that there isn't instant hostility between the two of them, some kind of 'you don't have the right to wear that cowl' type argument that would have slowed things down a lot. Instead, Dick seems to understand why this man is doing what he's doing, and accepts that he's genuinely here to do good.

It's also the second title where this new Batman has been better than in his own Future State title, the other being Future State: Justice League. I'm not sure what it is about the character, whether it's down to who's writing him, or if he just seems to work better when coupled with other characters, but seeing him interacting with Dick was more entertaining than the second issue of Future State: The Next Batman.

I've found the Gotham based books in Future State to be either really good or pretty poor, but this issue was a lot of fun. I liked seeing how Dick has changed without Bruce around, but how he's sticking to the mission, trying to live up to his mentors legacy and be a good man. I'm also getting strong vibes in this book that Peacekeeper 01 is going to end up being Jason Todd, and if so I really hope that Dick is the person who he ends up having to face off against.

review of both: the stunningly bright colours that accompany future state do not take away from the blacks blues and greys of nightwing's story. of course dick is leading a rebellion, and he looks fuckign GOOD doing it - this is a rebel with a cause story of a team of misfits fighting against their facist government, and dick's smarts, readiness to sacrifice himself, hesitant allyship with the new batman as well as his ABS and his ASS bring personality to this classic narrative :) some of the general world building was a bit confusing but that's cause I've only read 1 other future state series

This one felt a little shorter then some of the other DC Future State series. Or just insight to an event that is happening instead of a complete story. The intro was great! It is still pretty interesting story but I’m not sure where this is gonna go. if you’re following the Magistrate storyline, I wouldn’t say this is a necessity but it’s fun and the art is great. And the coloring was prettier then I was expecting! At least for a Nightwing story.

This was good! The art was amazing, the story was engaging, and Nightwing is just such an interesting character. He seems to have grown up a lot, which was fun as well. And Barbara had a cameo! I wish there was a batgirl future state, but alas. Very excited about the next issue.

This was decent but the ending has me excited for a potentially, really fun issue to follow.

Future State Nightwing

So far another great book for future state series. As usual the stories and artwork are great. We see Nightwing and the new Batman together and going to war. Next book please!
