Cinderella Proposal

Rate this book
A contemporary Cinderella story.

Meet Beau Mckay, Atlanta's blockbuster actor and self-proclaimed player. He's known for his tough-guy roles and cleft chin but there's more to Beau than a pretty face and taut muscles as Cindy Knight is about to find out.

In an effort to save her family's production studio, Cindy makes a bold move and sneaks in to Beau's house party to deliver the script she wrote. Beau rescues her from a group of good ol' boys up to no good who throw Cindy into the pool before being kicked out of the party. Through a series of mishaps, amazing kisses, and an incident with a stuffed bear, the two find an everlasting connection.

Beau must rise up to the best inside himself and Cindy has to redefine her vision of family or they'll never find their happily ever after.

I love Cinderella and retellings always make me want to see her get some revenge.... And she does. I've read this before as part of an anthology and I think I enjoyed it even more this time. Clean romance and a fun premise. Some sadness and comeuppance. Satisfying ending.

It was a truly Cinderella book. Such a nice girl doing dirty work for step sisters. But good things kept happening to her because she was a cheerful giver

A Fate Worth Fighting For -
Wow what a story! This take is about Cindy, who life life was thrown into chaos after her father’s death and she unfortunately had to suffer at the hands of her stepmother and stepsisters. Beau was an A list actor who felt like there was something missing in his life, that is until he met Cindy. They were destined to meet, as Beau would be the catalyst to put Cindy back in the position that she was always meant to be in, whilst also finding the true happiness that was missing in his life.

This is a twenty first century Cinderella story, with great supporting characters, emotional challenges and knight who rides in at the crucial moment to save the day. This is the first book I have read from this author and it was a pleasurable read.

This story has all the nasty earmarks of Cinderella: dad's dead, wicked stepmother, and horrid twin stepsisters. But Cindy's perseveres believing that her stepmother also loved her dad. She perseveres in the hopes of keeping her father's legacy alive: Knight Studios. Delightful. Her passion for Knight Studios drives her to meet Beau McKay, a renowned playboy-actor. Sparks fly, but she resists. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and hope that you do as well.

Easy-to-read. Entertaining. Great world building. Happily Ever After. Page-turner. Romantic. Tragic. Twisted. Wonderful characters.

I received a copy of this book as a gift from the author. This is my honest review.

Fluffy fun

If I was going to admit to having seen the Cinderella movies on Disney (the ones with Lucy Hale & Selena Gomez), which I'm totally not admitting 😉, I'd say this was a well done version of that kind of story written for women instead of teens.

So don't go into this looking for a realistic, real life version of Cinderella - there's no way a lawyer would have just taken the stepmom's word for anything, & Cindy would have had to sign some kind of paperwork - but if you're willing to just roll with it, it's still an entertaining story that's perfect for when you just want some lighthearted romance.

*Romance level: sweet kisses, nothing graphic

I love a good Cinderella story and thought this contemporary retelling was well done. It very much had the feel of a fairy-tale. And as is the case with the fairy-tale I grew up loving, Cindy (Cinderella) missed her loving father dreadfully, was abused by her awful step-mother, fell almost instantly in love with her 'Prince Charming' who is greatly sought after by her step-sisters and everything works out to her advantage in the end. The ending seems to fall into place really fast but as I thought about it, so do fairy-tales so that fit in the retelling as well.

I enjoyed this sweet little Cinderella story.

Sex: mild reference

I don’t usually like to leave bad reviews on books. However, did this book even go to an editor? There were so many typos and run on paragraphs that were not spaced or separated correctly. Maybe it was just the ebook version but still.

It’s difficult to write a Cinderella spin-off with a sense of uniqueness, and other than the movie studio theme there was hardly any uniqueness. And I’ve read some great ones before.

I skipped the last five chapters and was able to read the final conclusion without even feeling like I missed anything. I’m guessing I missed the proposal part of the “Cinderella proposal” but it was the obvious conclusion

This was a lot of fluff. Totally unbelievable and improbable. If you look at it from a fairy tale point of view, it was sweet. But in the real world things won't happen this way. And I am not a fan of all the insta love and soul mates stuff. I guess with a tale as Cinderella, there were not many possibilities for depth and development of character. So this was a quick read for times when you are in a mood for a fanciful and whimsical story.

REFORMING ATLANTA’S ROGUE

A modern day retelling of the classic Cinderella fairytale.

Our heroine, aptly named Cindy, is a screenwriter, following in the footsteps of her film producer father, with dreams of one day running a film studio of her very own.

But when life presents a series of setbacks, she’ll have to rely on herself to achieve those dreams... and maybe a little something more?

Suitable for young adult readers and up, this is a quick, feel-good, fairytale read, with a “never-ever-after” ending.

This very Cinderella esque story has a good amount of cuteness to it and does a good job sticking with the fun story retellings we all know and love. At the first of the story I struggled a little because it seemed so similar to every other retelling (including character names, etc). However, I was able to really enjoy it after a chapter or teo through the book and find the absolute adorable uniqueness this story held to it.

Fans of the movie, Cinderella Story will adore this book and treasure it. I look forward to reading more by this author and more in the series.

I had a free copy of this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. After Cindy Knight’s father died, her step-mother treated her badly, and wouldn’t let her movie scripts be produced. When she finds her step-mother has not sent her script to movie star Beau McKay she takes it herself, and he is interested in starring in the production. As he gets to know her, he sees how her family treats her and attempts to make up for it. A touching retelling of the Cinderella story with a great ending.

This was a fun read! A really interesting use of Cinderella in the movie industry. Our Cinderella is the daughter of a screenwriter/indie production company owner. She has her own ambitions to follow in her father's footsteps when her father suddenly dies. Her selfish stepmother takes over. The prince Charming in this story is a playboy actor on the rise in the industry. Can she convince him to star in a movie based on her script? This was definitely a book I'd re-read, the true test of whether the book is good or not.

Beau and Cindy have a meet-cute that is worthy of great rom-coms. Patricia, Cindy's stepmother, and her two daughters are evidence of how easily others can be manipulated. It's sickening. The good news is that once a revelation takes place, everything right falls exactly into place...as it's meant to be.

I'm still contemplating the phrase "never ever after." I'll have to try to remember to come back to let you know if I agree that it works...or not. ;)

I normally love a Cinderella retelling. But there was a lot of cliche and stereotypical things and wording. It was some unbelievable concepts like "Her dad's soul going through hers." And her and Beau "seeing into each other's souls." Not to mention the obsession with looking "manly." It just felt... I don't even know what the word is. Naive, maybe? Ah. Far fetched. I honestly continued because I wanted to see how bad it got with the unrealistic scenes. pretty darn...

This is a modern day version of Cinderella. If you love fairytales you will love this story. It is set in the South. The storyline closely follows the familiar Cinderella story. The stepmother and stepsisters are awful. Cindy is trying to save her father’s legacy and help those people who work for her father’s filming company. Beau is Prince Charming in movie star form.

This is a charming retelling of the traditional Cinderella story with Cindy as the oppressed stepdaughter trying to keep her father's til studios alive despite her stepmother and assisted involvement, and Beau as the charming leading actor who finds himself drawn to the lovely Cindy and helps save the studios.

This was such a fun read. The integrity Cindy showed proves just how much she loved her daddy's company and the employees that worked there. This story played out similar to Cinderella but had so many fun parts along with a sweet, slow romance. Loved the last chapter and epilogue!

A classic retold

Cindy is a modern day Cinderella complete with a wicked stepmother and evil stepsisters. Beau, a famous actor, is a dashing Prince Charming. Together, they make this book a perfect retelling of the classic fairytale.

Enjoyable

Another Cinderella story. No matter how many times you read/see them , they are always good. The classic foundations make for a good 'comeuppance' story. This is no exception.

Modern twist to an old tale. This is a modern Cinderella story with a few twists. The story does not follow the original tale exactly but there are several similarities. Albeit to say it is fun to keep the pages turning to see how it all turns out. It is done very well and a true joy to read.
